Hopefully after she get this redemption thing so she can fade away in the sunset. They focus on to many these characters this year. In didn't move the main story I wanted.
So unless this guy they fighting in the pic unleash something this is a waste.
- Plot focused on Dean, Castiel and Claire (why can't she go away?) - Sam is not present probably (doing something else, perhaps?) and when he meets them, he is knocked out so Dean can fight the angel, but Claire saves the day - Sam leaves so we have a Dean, Claire and Castiel bonding moment. -And the MoC continues to do nothing until episode 21...
I really like Claire as it goes for a teenage character (Krissy was annoying in comparison). Plus it really brought up some Jimmy Novak questions to light and is giving Cas a really internal driving arc this season...
They look like toys, which is ironic because they are probably toys that Jensen or Jared could take home and have their kids play with. They don't even look threatening on the show.
Don't worry, she's a recurring female character on Supernatural. Ninety to one odds she'll either be killed off, or turned evil and then killed off. The sausage fest will continue unhindered.
Wait, am I watching a Claire-centred teenage TV-drama? 'Cause what I'm seeing in this promo is some mary-sueing girl who has, btw, really no reason to be a center of an episode on the show. Don't care about her. I get it, the Cas~Jimmy storyline needs some ending, but that means ending, not continuing tries of "development". Don't want to see Jimmy's family drama, want to see Winchesters' one. And ("f-f-feelings!" like Crowley said) yes, where the hell are BROTHERS together?
Well, it's OK. When they announced the Claire's return, I was afraid that Robbie Thompson has looked season 5 lastly. You know... "This whole industry runs on absent fathers". When Cas leaves Claire on the road alone, even without twenty bucks, I was really afraid the worse crap can happen. Fortunately Robbie is above this harsh reality.
I really didn't like the first part of the claire soap opera, so for the very first time, i will pass. Thank you very much for these promo pictures which warn me not to watch it.
Unfortunately Misha's Variety interview suggested 'Claire' might be hanging around. My heart sunk when I read that - just what I need - Krissy 2.0. NOT happy with the lack of Sam photos and Robbie seems incapable of writing BadAss Sam in more than one episode a half year (Sam was BA in 10.05 but looked silly letting the 'Scarecrow' take him down so easily).
I adore the irony and abject lack of self-awareness with which fangirls of this show, especially the little segments who stridently insist that SPN should be all family drama all the time, will hate on Claire and her family arc.
Glad TPTB are giving these ladies the chance to resolve their own storylines instead of just getting dropped like a gum wrapper out a car window.
The reappearance of Amelia could be interesting if there's a good story behind it - that connects to Cas and his possession of Jimmy - but this story would have been so much stronger if the three Claire episodes had been condensed into one rather than being "accordioned out" into three.
I don't understand how we can have three Claire-centric episodes in one season, yet Sam, a lead, hasn't had one for two seasons. *Sighs* By the looks of it we'll be lucky to see Sam in five minutes of this one.
And it also doesn't seem entirely fair that Dean, Cas and Crowley have each had a number of episodes this season dealing with someone from their past (Cole, Claire and Rowena) Yet surprise surprise, Sam hasn't. They may as well change Jared's credit to guest star as this point.
Maybe that means that next season, her and Charlie will become hunting partners.....*Shudders at the thought* excuse me while I go and barf in the corner! I hate Claire and I wish her character would just die! Put her back into the tween soap opera from where she came! Supernatural doesn't want her anymore!
Exactly. Amelia seems to be in a very bad situation here, makes one think why didn't Cas look for her in the first place and make sure she was OK. Claire was not Jimmy's family alone, Amelia was too. (But I guess teenage drama is so interesting they need to revisit it over and over!)
I don't know what exactly Supernatural should be, doubt that entirely family drama, but I'm pretty sure it's been said A LOT of times (and not only in past, but recently) Supernatural is about two brothers. Not about their angel friend. And definitely not about their angel friend's vessel's daughter's (and wife's) troubles. They just should've not put it all this way.
So yes, I'm eventually hating on Claire and her family arc, and the more they concentrate on her, the more the hatred grows :) Sorry.
I don't want Claire to necessarily die, I just want her to go back with her Mom. I don't see a point of her character coming back in S11 unless Cas wants to visit her or Amelia dies in 10.20. But then I don't the point in even locating Amelia if they don't save her unless the show as you suggest plans on making Claire the orphaned Krissy Junior Hunter replacement. Ugh! I couldn't stand Krissy either. Talk about Soapernatural.
Robbie Thompson has no interest in writing for the two protagonists. I fully expect him to make Claire another awesome "Sue" character and for Claire to return next season to have more focused episodes, allowing the J2s their part-time work schedule.
I can't imagine a purpose for Claire in S11. Maybe I'm interpreting Misha's interview incorrectly. Cross fingers. It bothers to me to see that shot of her with the sword. With our luck Show will probably turn Claire into a Valkyrie-Sue. I wish RT would leave to work on his comic book series. The sheer number of writers and 'crew' working on side projects (listed on SuperWiki) astounds me. Little wonder the quality of writing generally has suffered since Carver took the helm.
Well, I did not actually call her a Mary Sue. I told she was acting kinda like that. How has she become such a warrior? She is just a teenage girl, not even a hunter like Krissy was. And still I see her on these promos shooting from a gun, holding a sword, like she knows well enough how to use it. That is a bit strange, don't you think? Though maybe the episode will prove I'm wrong.. Hope so, but can't believe in it.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
wait, isn't that Claires mom?
ReplyDeleteIt's kinda awesome how they brought that Jimmi plot back
I think that's Claire's mom too, but I don't think it's the same actress?
ReplyDeleteyep, it's Amelia (according to imdb). So now they successfully recast both of the Novaks
ReplyDeleteWhen will Claire go away forever?
ReplyDeleteHopefully after she get this redemption thing so she can fade away in the sunset.
ReplyDeleteThey focus on to many these characters this year. In didn't move the main story I wanted.
So unless this guy they fighting in the pic unleash something this is a waste.
Here we go again with the same old, same old:
ReplyDelete- Plot focused on Dean, Castiel and Claire (why can't she go away?)
- Sam is not present probably (doing something else, perhaps?) and when he meets them, he is knocked out so Dean can fight the angel, but Claire saves the day
- Sam leaves so we have a Dean, Claire and Castiel bonding moment.

ReplyDeleteSam's in the pictures in the middle of the fight...and it seems like he's talking to Castiel in the car.
ReplyDeleteI hope after this episode.
ReplyDeleteI would to love to see some Dean-Castiel moments but not at the expense of Sam's SL.
ReplyDeleteWhy did they recast? Pretty sure the actress that originally played Jimmy's wife was available.
ReplyDeleteIs Claire now Dean's mini-me?? That muzzle flash is a bit too much.
ReplyDeleteThat's what an angel sword should look like.
ReplyDeleteYah, it is.
ReplyDeleteBut did they get the same actress who played Jesse's mom?
I was always so put of by the size of the blades
ReplyDeleteThey look like toys, which is ironic because they are probably toys that Jensen or Jared could take home and have their kids play with. They don't even look threatening on the show.
ReplyDeleteI really don't like Claire, She's annoying I hope she'll go away after this episode.
ReplyDeleteWho is Sam talking to in the car?He doesn't look like Cas .
Don't worry, she's a recurring female character on Supernatural. Ninety to one odds she'll either be killed off, or turned evil and then killed off. The sausage fest will continue unhindered.
ReplyDeleteNovak's "family drama"? Not interested, really. This promo make me sad.
ReplyDeleteNo. this is a different actress.
ReplyDeleteWell thank God for that :) I like to see new characters in Supernatural but every new character that Carver has introduced since season 8 was boring.
ReplyDeleteThat could be said for just about every character
ReplyDeleteWait, am I watching a Claire-centred teenage TV-drama? 'Cause what I'm seeing in this promo is some mary-sueing girl who has, btw, really no reason to be a center of an episode on the show.

Robbie seems incapable of writing. Period.
ReplyDeleteNot soon enough.
ReplyDeleteTotally made me think of her.

ReplyDeleteCan they just PLEASE kill off Claire already????
ReplyDeleteExactly. Amelia seems to be in a very bad situation here, makes one think why didn't Cas look for her in the first place and make sure she was OK. Claire was not Jimmy's family alone, Amelia was too. (But I guess teenage drama is so interesting they need to revisit it over and over!)
ReplyDeleteClaire will rescue all? It's squalor... (((

Please, no more Claire!!!!! That woman is not the same actress, I hope Claire never come back and go with her mother!!!!!

ReplyDeleteKrissy Chambers 2.0
ReplyDeleteYou can not like Claire, but she doesn't meet the criteria of a "Mary-Sue." It isn't a catch all term for "female character I don't like."
ReplyDeleteWell, I did not actually call her a Mary Sue. I told she was acting kinda like that. How has she become such a warrior? She is just a teenage girl, not even a hunter like Krissy was.
