  1. I liked this episode :). Creepy case and killer (the discovery of the first victim was quite startling!), liked seeing Abbie trying to deal with Irving's return, and bringing Jenny on board with that (and I like that she let Irving's wife know he was back), and seeing the Cranes work together, and Katrina's ties to Abigail Adams, was neat.
I'm hoping Irving will come back all right from what he went through, and share Jenny's hope that they won't have to use their weaponry on him (and on that note, oh, did I feel for Jenny when she was digging around for those bullets. Ewwwwww). But I don't blame Abbie for being concerned. I'll be quite interested to see how she continues to deal with him from here on out.

  4. How did this show go from being amazing last season to this?
I miss the Ichabod/Abbie repartee. Now Ichabod spends most of his time with Katrina, and as a dramatic device, it's just incredibly boring.

As happy as I am to have Irving back from the dead, they're still wasting him, leaving him tied to a chair.

I still don't care about the new captain. On the plus side, no Hawley.

  5. I had read this amazing comment last night from another fan, she hit all these amazing points about the SL of this season, and Katrina. I wishhh iI could share it with you, but if iI tried to put it up as a picture, idt it would work. But i'll try.

  7. never will not love haunted paintings they're just so creepily awesome, weird i know but can't help it LOL, loved Ichabod and Katrina working together and her reminiscing about Abigail Adams was great to see and Ichabod explaining modern customs with her was awesome and her distraction with kissing him was awesome she learns fast LOL

  8. I think the show go back to the right way as it does in season 1. There are intensely creepy and mystery with a little of comedy and drama. I don't like just one thing that is this episode go slowly in the apocalypse and the horsemen. I think this episode will be the first of the new way to fix Sleepy Hollow as Fox Executives said.

  9. It's funny that Ichabod-Abbie Shippers don't like the moment of Katrina and Ichabod and hate this episode because of that.

  10. We'd all be concerned about a friend in danger, sure-sorry if that part of it all didn't come across clearly :). But I'd be curious to see how many people would gather weapons to defend themselves from a friend-I don't know that I'd have the guts to do that, for a whole host of reasons.
I know Abbie's been pretty single-minded in keeping on with the mission she's on, and she has been willing to fight anyone who's possessed/evil, whether they're close to her or not. But I do wonder if the point will come where she hesitates on that front, if there's that one person she just can't bring herself to attempt to kill when the time comes.

  11. I can understand a storyline not working/not making sense for viewers, or they don't like how a character's behaving in an episode, or something like that. Those are critiques to work with and discuss, and allow people to come up with ways to fix this or change that.
But anyone who hates an episode of a TV show (I'm speaking in a general sense here, not targeted at this show or anyone specifically) simply because they don't get their personal shipping moment...that kind of makes me twitch.

  12. Now remember this is NOT my comment. I just felt she made some really good points as i read this last night. The topic was.... The Bond/Vows between Man and Wife. (Ichabod, Katrina, and Abraham)

I remember in the beginning of the show when the shipping wars both started there was a lot of emphasis on the sanctity and purity of Ichabod's and Katrina's marriage and the idea of Abbie and Ichabod being together was seen as adulterous which I fully understand from a "moral" perspective. I'm not a shipper of either (unless it's Andy and I), and both shippers greatly amuse me.

One thing I admired about Ichatrina shippers was how they had this sanctity of marriage theme( I totally disapprove however, of their slut-shamming Abbie as she hadn't done anything and slut-shamming Ichabbie fans, but we'll leave that alone).

But now I'm confused. I'm a Christian, and though I have my own personal views of marriage from a Godly view and how the perception of marriage has changed overtime or seen in the modern day, i'd really like to know where the same fans stand in regards to Katrina and Abraham.

I feel that....if I were married, I would support and trust my husband 100%. It seems very disturbing how much Katrina has fought with Ichabod about Abraham. Maybe if he was just some guy Ichabod didn't like then it wouldn't be that bad but...this man was engaged to Katrina and she ditched him for Ichabod. Now the show shows us why and we're supposed to be like it was a love, etc. Etc. But from a logical standpoint this is so completely wrong. To BOTH men, Ichabod and Abraham. Katrina and Ichabod BOTH played Abraham so wrong and dirty for what they did. Now Abraham and Katrina are playing Ichabod wrong. Okay not so much Abraham b/c he is a ruthless murderer with issues and no sense of morality, but Katrina is really not doing a good job of being a good and SUPPORTIVE and honest wife to her husband.

I guess this really bothers me b/c in the beginning there was so much emphasis on Ichabod and Katrina and their undying love and they need to reunite, etc. But now that she's actually with her husband she spends more time with Abraham than with Ichabod. Now I'm not married, though one day I hope that'll change, but I feel as a woman, when you marry a man, you're saying, you'll be with him through thick and thin, from the day you die from sickness and in health. Yet Katrina has shown no support for Ichabod or the people that he cares about, such as Abbie, Jenny, or Irving. It just seems so messed up and I DON'T understand why this is being handed to us as a LOVE STORY. This is NOT a love story. It's not even an interesting love triangle. It's a manipulation of emotions. It's putting a price on "love", and it's completely selfish. I'm just really frustrated on how this show has gone with their relationship. If this is how they intended to make Katrina more interesting then they failed MISERABLY! It just upsets me.

  15. I guess I'm alone in this but I'm just not seeing any chemistry between Katrina and Crane..I've waited and waited for but
I'm just not feeling it.. and I just broke straight out into tears when Abbie was talking to Irving.... and the look on his face and the things he was saying to her and even as I can see where she was coming from... I wanted to straight up smack her for walking out on him after he was to me pleading for her to believe in him that he was who he say he is...

  16. Chemistry is drawn from an individual's own perceptions. I love both the interactions between Abbie/Ichabod and Katrina/Ichabod. But I just see there chemistries differently. Abbie/Ichabod as best friends and Katrina/Ichabod as a couple or lovers. I enjoyed this episode because it's the first time Katrina/Ichabod have spent genuine amout of time together (as you'd expect a married couple to spend) and worked together to defeat a foe. You see him fight by Abbie's side all the time. This was refreshing.

  17. "Good answer." :-) What the dickens did they do with Ichabod's hair? Yes, Irving is back. I hope he has more to do in the last half of the season. (And I hope they haven't turned him evil. :-) I didn't mind the Ichabod/Katrina mystery but I would have preferred that plot be the B story and Irving the A story but I suppose we'll get more focus on that story in future episodes. I think I'd give the ep a Great.

  18. I just don't see what so many people are seeing. I enjoyed the super dark first half of the season, despite its issues that I felt were already manifesting in season one. Also loved the super serialized format yet they still had a story of the week. Also feel like while the Crane drama is slightly too heavy, it's more relevant to the story than basically everyone else thinks, although I will say I hope it's more or less resolved soon. And despite all that, I am enjoying this post-Moloch reboot and pressing on the brakes to this Apocalypse thing, it's a nice breathing period while also introducing new elements.

  19. Loved it. Loving the post-Moloch fallout more than I thought I would. I just hope the writers keep expanding the world and the amount of characters we're familiar even if they don't have stories... You can't have a truly effective apocalyptic story if it's only affecting a small amount of people you're familiar with. And I feel in a small way, these last couple of episodes expanded the world in small, yet positive ways. Just hoping it continues.

  20. At least Katrina's stopped whining about Abraham so much.... was bordering on wishing her dead just to shut her up. I do like her (character and actress) otherwise though.

  21. Finally an episode of Sleepy Hollow where I didn't cringe most of the time. I loved having a break from Ichabod and Abbie's emoangsty conversations and quite frankly the only 2 scenes I hated where when Abbie was again grousing about Katrina. They are killing Abbie's character for me and I wish they would just stop it. Over and over again she comes off as jealous and its beneath the awesome character they created in season 1.

I adored the idea of Katrina and Ichabod working together and it was nice to see them on the same page again. Even more so, it was great NOT to have the 643rd conversation about their marital woes but instead to actually seeing them try. It's TV so show goes a whole lot farther than tell, especially when they do that all the freaking time. Basically this episode felt a lot less like a supernatural soap opera and more like Sleepy Hollow. Plus, who didn't love Jenny and the zombie. Totally awesome!

  22. I found this episode very refreshing as well. I hope we get to see more of Icahbod and Katrina working together and that soon they will bring the whole team around so they are all on the same side and not sniping at each other.

  23. I think the episode would have been so much better if there had been more of Jenny and the zombie, and a Hawley addition would have been great.

  24. Your whispering redhead comment cracked me up. I thought I was the only one who found that annoying! I kept getting flashbacks of Gillian Anderson in "The Fall", who also speaks for the entire time in this slightly high pitched stage whisper that drives me crazy

    ReplyDelete
  25. Probably because most people who like the Abbie-Ichabod partnership like it forr reasons other than romantic shipping.

    ReplyDelete
  26. You're definitely not! There's a lot of people that do. Honestly I never really noticed it too much (b/c like I said I can ignore her when she's on screen half the time) b/c some times her scenes are short. But this episode was soooo Katrina heavy than EVER before, and I couldn't ignore it if I tried. Like what is with her breathless talking?? I have asthma and I don't breathe like that!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Agreed. More Jenny is a constant plea from this fan. She's the best character on the show for me. I am also amenable to more Hawley because he seems to be the only source of humor anymore.
