Arrow - Season 3 - Andrew Kreisberg Discusses Felicity's Feelings for Oliver

Thanks to Nessie for the heads up.

“She speaks up!” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg tells TVLine. “She definitely speaks up, but not quite in the way I think people are expecting. She has a lot of strong feelings.” (Could EP Marc Guggenheim’s tweet, teasing his favorite moment from an upcoming episode — “I don’t want to be a woman you love” — be a bad omen?)

The scene in question, which takes place at the end of Episode 12, “probably is my all-time favorite Emily Bett [Rickards] performance,” Guggenheim enthuses. “She is so, so, so, so incredibly strong in that scene, it’s ridiculous.”

  1. I'm so happy. That is all.

  2. Perfect title, just what I needed. At least we totally get what the show is about :D
All these idiotic people coming here and telling us that this is a superhero show, pah! Humbug I say! This is a show about love, a show about emotion, a show about quirky geekiness.
And luckily there is no end in sight! Olicity is just growing and growing, it truly IS the show <3

  3. I usually would agree, however the fandom appears to be loud, big, vocal and aggressive. So it's really not worth criticizing. You will loose eventually, trust me. Been there, done that, suffered

  4. Oliver and Felicity hasn't had a shipping scene longer than two minutes since the first episode. But yeah, they're pandering HARD. Those two minutes really bring down the other 40.

  5. Blatant exaggeration is blatant.

  6. No amount of aggressiveness will get me to step back from my opinion that writing "ships" in arrow is stupid.

  7. My bad. I had to go to youtube. They haven't had a scene longer than THREE minutes.

  8. now that's bullsh*t, seriously, every episode (minus "The Magician") had at least 3-5 minutes worth of ship time. Remember: ship time isn't exclusively positive but simply them actually focusing on the romantic aspect

  9. It's a CW show. If you were expecting it to be ship free then wow are you watching the wrong network.

  10. mhm, the shipper run of superiority. Such hubris, tasty and delicious

  11. Out of 40 minutes, I still fail to see how they're pandering to the ship.

  12. I didn't say I wanted it ship free, I want it true to the actual Oliver Queen character. Why do they need/deserve a relationship ? What makes Felicity different from all the other women huh ? Don't get me wrong, I like Felicity's character but geez just because Oliver has great chemistry with her as his confidant doesn't mean they need to be together.

  13. really? Him flashing back to Felicity instead of the countless other people that ment something to him in his death scene wasn't pandering? Not like he cared about Sara -,-

good f****ing grief, I don't disagree that they're focusing on the ship. At least be honest and don't use fake humbleness

  14. Lol There are way more people in Olivers life than Felicity, 5 minutes is definitely pandering when you consider Roy Harper and Diggle have been slightly pushed the background and all of a sudden no one else matters when Oliver is about to die.

  15. no seriously, if you want to have a civil discussion on here just nod and agree. I've learned that the hard way. Olicity really is what people here care about most and while I disagree with the way fans are forcing their ship in and the writers give in to it I'm not ready to risk my sanity and get threatened again.

  16. They don't NEED to be together, but if I wanted an Oliver Queen that was close to the comics, I would read the damn comics. And might I point out that the Oliver Queen in the comics is kind of an asshole.

That's one of the most annoying things about you people who want this show to be similar to the comics. You're picking and choosing what you want to be canon instead of choosing the entire thing. You want Oliver to be to your specifications. Some things from the comics are preferable to other things. Well that's not going to happen, and complaining about it is a waste of time.

But hey it's YOUR time, so it's yours to waste. But the majority of these episodes are still entirely action and story, having nothing to do with the ships. If they were pandering, that margin would be a lot smaller.

  17. These things were present before Felicity was even made a regular. Her presence didn't make it happen.

  18. HAHA I've noticed there is a Olicity cult that rivals Joe Carrolls(the following) on here.

    ReplyDelete
  19. yeah, they're mostly nice though. Just don't startle them. I seem to go overboard with being sarcastic though already. Some of them don't handle anything anti-Olicity well

    ReplyDelete
  20. It always feels good to make yourself feel marginalized so you feel special for going against the norm doesn't it?

    "I don't like Olicity! I feel special!"

That's really rather sad. But you're not exactly wrong, there is a strong Olicity presence on this website.

But there's also a very strong anti-Captain Swan presence on this website. I swear, even the Captain Swan anti tag on tumblr doesn't hate CS as much as the people on SpoilerTV.

It's the nature of the internet. Some people congregate to certain websites.

  21. I didn't pick and choose ? What gave you that idea ?

    ReplyDelete
  22. I agree with you. I think they wrote themselves into a corner with the Olicity thing.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yeah, Oliver has FEELINGS for someone. How weird is that.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Jokes on you, because I'm not anti-olicity, I'm anti-Oliver Queen monogamy. I'm also anti-Gugenheim pandering.

    ReplyDelete
  25. OLIVER SHOULD HAVE FEELINGS FOR EVERYONE ! He's a playboy.

    ReplyDelete
  26. no, the fans made it happen by harrassing the writers and pushing it

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yup, writers tend to do that these days when they pay too much attention to their twitter accounts and forget that it's their story to write.

    ReplyDelete
  28. So you don't feel special Aydrian? Oh my, then you REALLY should join us. I feel SO SPECIAL whenever I argue with you people and am utterly outnumbered

    ReplyDelete
  29. There are certain things that work in comics that don't work in television. They're two ENTIRELY different mediums.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I don't think you've actually attributed one intelligent comment to this discussion.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Oh yeah, we're REALLY pushing it hard. Despite the fact that it was Olicity shippers who wanted them to take it slow in the first place. Almost the entire fandom wants them to take their time with it and not rush it.

You're making some really odd assumptions about the Olicity fandom considering you apparently not nothing about them.

    ReplyDelete
  32. aaaand we're off to insulting again! Congrats, you just proved my point!

And hey, Aydrian if you ever feel like reading other posts down there, be my guest. I'm not saying that I'm intelligent in any way. However having my intelligence insulted by you makes me feel....well...I'll need to put it into moving pictures

  33. I "not nothing"?

  34. Did I miss the part where Oliver is with Felicity? Over the last few seasons alone he's been with what, five women?

And wasn't he with Sarah WHILE being in love with Felicity. I'm really confused, how is he not being a playboy?

    ReplyDelete
  35. I know enough about them, I've been arguing with you people for months now...have you really forgotten me? :O

    ReplyDelete
  36. I see the shipper wars have begun already. In less than 30 minutes this thread turned into fighting, lol. If only people had the maturity to realize that different people have different opinions on subjective matters. TV Shows are an art medium which is subjective by nature. Bashing someone for their opinion on a part of a TV show is like calling someone wrong for liking a particular painting. Opinions only become right or wrong as they correspond to facts, and we aren't dealing with facts here. But I digress, this is the internet after all. Just seems a silly thing to waste energy on.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I didn't say he is with Felicity, are you actually reading what I write ? You said Oliver has feelings for someone, I said Oliver should have feelings for everyone, what part of that is me saying Oliver is with her ?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Shippers are getting a little annoyed for being blamed for apparently taking over a show that where the majority of its content has nothing to do with shipping at all.

Nevermind the fact that despite the apparent pandering to the shippers, the show is still pretty damn good.
