  1. So I'm guessing the person in charge of casting must be a huge Vampire Diaries/Pretty little liars fan.

  2. Here's a funny connection. Johnson played the voice of Jensen Ackles' dead older brother on Still Life...

  3. It's clearly evident by now!!

  4. With the Vampire Diaries, there's the whole network synergy thing. Pretty Little Liars, I have no idea.

  5. Interesting! Wonder who he's playing.

  6. isn't Pretty Little Liars also a WB production ?

  7. That might explain it a little bit then. But still, I just think that the casting director has a big boner for VD and PLL. Or they think they can cash in on the popularity of those shows but I don't think that would work (see the cancellation of Ravenswood and failure of Cult). But I honestly don't know how good of actors they all are so maybe they are just really really talented?

  8. I'm confused. Did Supernatural: Tribes get renamed to Supernatural: Bloodlines? Or is Bloodlines the name of the spinoff episode? Or is the episode named Tribes and the series name Bloodlines?

  9. Well they seems to follow "how to make a CW TV hit for cheep" manual: take few 20+ pretty faces from somewhat popular-ish current TV shows, make it as diverse as possible, wrap it in dark monster paper, add a pink ribbon of forbidden love and finally attach a bold-letter label reading SUPERNATURAL. Here you go. Hopefully they wont mossing a good story in their recipe.

  11. of the current cast I can only properly judge Buzolic and Martines.

Nate did an okay job as Kol on The Vampire Diaries, solid but not perfect. He clearly was the weakest link out of the originals. Still his character gained an insane following, so I guess that's the reason he got cast. Also he made an appearance on PLL, I watched it and have to say: it was bad. REALLY bad. My first ever PLL episode and he, like the rest was really really bad.

I don't know what to think about him tbh, I liked his TVD character but his acting is mediocore at best

Martines did a solid job on TVDs first season, he was a fun villain and made for a fun villain but not more

I don't know what to think about the spin-off to be honest. Sounds more like a cash in on TVD/TO/SPN than a genuine part of the Supernatural universe

  12. The CW won't care how "genuine" any show is as long as the ratings go up!

  13. Damn. That doesn't fill me with confidence haha. I just saw a bunch of comments from PLL fans on me of these casting announcements, saying that bloodlines is poaching all of the really bad cast offs. They didn't seem to think Johnson was a great actor. They all seemed to be glad when he left PLL.
