Ongoing The Winter Olympics on NBC reigned supreme, of course. But an 11.9 rating/19 share in the household overnights from 8-11 p.m. was 16 percent below the 14.2/22 one week earlier. Night two of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” in late night remained on the map with a very dominant 5.3/15 in the 12 a.m. hour (which bested David Letterman and Craig Ferguson on CBS, and Jimmy Kimmel and “Nightline” on ABC combined by 104 percent). But versus the 7.1/20 on debut night Monday, this was a loss of 25 percent. The true test, of course, will come once The Winter Olympics is over and Jimmy Fallon faces David Letterman head-to-head.
On Fox, a two-hour Tuesday edition of “American Idol,” featuring the Top 15 girls performing, scored a 6.5/10 in the overnights from 8-10 p.m. Comparably, that was almost triple the average 2.2/ 3 one week earlier for Fox’s combination of the one-hour season (or series) finale of “Dads,” “New Girl” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.”
Elsewhere, CBS was in all repeats care of its drama combination of “NCIS” (#3: 6.3/10), “NCIS: Los Angeles” (#3: 5.0/ 8) and “Person of Interest” (#2: 4.2/ 7), which managed to beat an original episode of ABC’s failing “Killer Women” (#3: 2.4/ 4) by 75 percent. ABC featured repeats of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” (#4: 2.0/ 3) and sitcoms “The Goldbergs” (#4: 1.7/ 3) and “Trophy Wife” (#4: 1.3/ 2) from 8-10 p.m. And The CW populated this third Tuesday in February with encores of “The Vampire Diaries” (#5: 0.6/ 1) and the pilot episode of “Star-Crossed” (#5: 0.8/ 1), which actually built by 60 percent from the 8:30 p.m. portion of “The Vampire Diaries” (0.5/ 1).
Looking ahead, there is every reason to believe that both “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” and “The Goldbergs” will return next season. But “Trophy Wife” is unlikely, while “Killer Women” is just waiting for the axe to officially swing.

Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.
The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).
Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.
Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above.
Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below). Friday's Final Adjusted Ratings are normally available on the following Monday.

Wow, good result for the repeat of Star-Crossed :) I know it's hard, but it would be nice to see it grow on the next weeks, despite facing The Voice and How I Met Your Mother.
ReplyDeleteIt's probably wishful thinking but I'm hoping those numbers for Star-Crossed were all new viewers who liked what they saw... and that The CW were promoting the crap out of the fact it's actually on Mondays. I was actually really surprised by how much I like it and it'd be disappointing if it got cancelled. After just one episode I'd already be less disappointed if Tomorrow People were cancelled than Star-Crossed.
