  1. Scandal ADJUSTED UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'M SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Given that it was one of the best episodes I've seen of the series, this deserved to get very excellent ratings!!!!!!!!!

  2. I had a feeling The Big Bang Theory would refuse to stay under a 5.0 Adults 18-49 rating, hahaha.

  3. Why is reigb got renewed but not ttp

  4. Only the CW Executives can answer that.

  5. I'm guessing the folks at the CW like playing Eeenie meanie minie moe.

  6. Well, ttp hasn't been canceled yet either so it still may also be renewed too.

  7. Because CW supports Reign,Other than five weeks Reign has better ratings,Reign has had steadier ratings,Reign has better word of mouth/buzz and does better online,in DVr,in A18-34& W18-34.Because TTP has gone from 0.9 to 0.5 behind a good leadin.

  8. It still didn't merit the early renewal it got. Reign isn't doing the ratings as the other 4 shows that got renewed and was basically a bubble show. They could have at least waited to see how it does on 13th March when it doesn't air after an original VD. They are basically setting themselves up for another Beauty & the Beast scenario. TTP will be tested and based on that it will be decided if they have a case for renewal.

  9. no really justifiable reason, in the end it was either TTP or Reign. They probably wanted to get it over with quick and apparently made the wrong choice

  10. I get that TTP fans are angra that Reign got renewed, but why was it the wrong choice? This is the first time Reign got 0.5 and TP had 0.5 for like 5-6 eps if i remember correctly

  11. I don't watch either god damn show...why was it APPARENTLY the wrong choice to give the show a early renewal ? Because the show is currently dropping.

it's not like it's hard to see that some heads are currently rolling over at theCW offices

So glad Scandal adjusted up! even tho it's previous rating was excellent, but this is even better!

  13. lol, TaaHM's demo is 2.5

  14. They may eventually roll, but not now I suspect. Dawn Ostroff held on after okay lots of shows that died and Reign hasn't completely tanked yet. We'll see how TTP does on Mondays (I'm guessing not good, but maybe their fans will follow them) and where Reign settles at the end of the season. Shows have been unrenewed before or they can hold Reign for schedule Spackle or over Christmas, and during the summer. Nothing is that set in stone, says the girl who saw Now and Again renewed only to be unrenewed for an updated version of The Fugitive and saw Everwood almost renewed only to be dropped for one more season of Seventh Heaven. Not to mention the shows this season that were just pulled after a few episodes with episodes out there somewhere that haven't been shown.

  15. Dawn Ostroff was an affront as a CEO anway. The way she petted Gossip Girl and stepped on other shows (Veronica Mars) was incredibly frustrating.

Reign sure has a shot at surviving another season, the hopes are dim tough.

Oh...not to mention Angel getting cancelled despite solid ratings

  16. Agree. Also, Reign is better than TTP (I watch both shows). To be fair, Reign is a lot better than most people think.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Simple: Reign has better W18-34 than Tomorrow People, and since that W18-34 is CW's prime target, Reign has the better chance.

  18. Saying that Reign improves over BATB whereas TTP doesn't improve over Supernatural doesn't make sense as an argument, given that Supernatural's ratings are 3x better than BATB's! Also, despite what you've said, the recent numbers show that both shows are performing very similarly. My guess is that the CW renewed Reign over TTP because Reign is its only period show and it wanted to expand and show more variety as a network, If I were running the station, I'd probably do the same thing. But all the arguments about Reign performing better are not really accurate, IMO, especially now that they have been performing very similarly over the past few months, Reign also has just as poor retention following a very good lead-in (Vampire Diaries) as TTP, so you can't single out TTP for that either. The frustration of TTP fans is still valid, IMO.

  19. I agree that renewal come more with different (somewhat) genre then superior performance. . Being CW Big Cheese I would to the same. Some variety is always better then same old scifi/fantacy.

Pedowitz even said when announcing Reigns renewal," So Reigns growing its timeslot." so yes Reign improving on BatB performance in the timeslot and TTP not doing the same does make sense.Second according to Tvbythenumbers Since mid Jan Reigns average 0.92
TTP average 0.85 so yes Reign has had better ratings, especially since TTP have had 4-5 0.5 so far and Reign 1.Arrow and TTP are much more compatible in tone content than VD /Reign and CW knows what to expect from shows post VD so yes I can call out TTPs poor retention, especially since Arrow & VD have been getting the same 0.9-1.1 demo this season so far.

  21. That's like saying that a person who wins a race where everyone runs at the speed of a turtle is much better than someone who comes 4th in a race with Olympic runners. It is Pedowitz' job to manipulate statistics in order to pump up his shows and justify why they're renewing certain shows. It's what people do in advertising and entertainment all the time, because they know that most viewers will be too clueless to pay attention to the fine print.

You don't Reign growing its timeslot and TTP not had anything to do with why Reign was renewed but TTP wasn't?Then why is TTP moving ?because CW isn't happy with its performance after Arrow. They didn't have to move TTP to make room on the schedule for The 100, they could've put the 100 on Mon.Why is TTP moving and Reign staying put if retention/growing the timeslot dosent matter?Networks only move shows during the season that are underperforming ,in freshman and sophomore shows cases ,they're moved to weaker timeslots.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Their ratings are almost the same when it comes to overall 18-49 demo numbers, but I think Reign has better numbers in the W18-34 demo which is big for The CW. (The W18-34 numbers aren't made public though, so we can only play the guessing game here.)
