About the Daily Ratings

Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.

The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).

Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.

Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above.

Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below). Friday's Final Adjusted Ratings are normally available on the following Monday.

If you are new to ratings or still confused, we recommend you read this excellent Ratings FAQ.

  1. Yay for Bones, that's more like it! It appears last week was indeed an abnormality! Great news, tying the x-factor on a freaking Friday.

  5. Thanks! I thought I would spend the entire year worrying about H50 but it turns out the show is doing just fine on Fridays. I am not sure CBS expected such good results.

  6. It's so good to see Bones is up! FOX didn't promote Bones this week (or I didn't see it) but they got 1.5 , beat most of the fox comedies, beat glee and tied with the x factor good for them! & oh and really happy for H5O too!

  7. H50 is down a tenth but still pretty decent ratings.

  10. With this raitings , 90210 was should need to be renewed last yaer for final last season !! I want another last season !!!!!!!!!! it was get better raitings!!!! and if the cw can get Nikita with 0.2 so they need to get also 90210 last season with 0.2-0.3 and maybe even 0.4! when it was on Monday at 8 it get 0.4-0.6 ( better than carrie diaries in Monday and Friday and Beauty And The Beast This Year! and Hart Of Dixie until now .. ) , and when it was at 9 it get 0.3-0.2 !

i dont give a f*ck ! I want another season new !! Im so absent!

  11. I'll never get why Nielsen viewers hate Nikita so much, I mean, last week ANTM got 0.5 (!) which is over twice Nikita's rating, and Nikita didn't even have to compete with Grimm. Oh well, bygones.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I am so happy for Hawaii Five-0!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  13. I honestly think a lot of people were confused by the '2 episodes in the same week' thing. JMO, though.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Sighs. They don't hate it. They choose just not to watch it. And its not like CW didn't promote its come back for the last 2 weeks. Nikita had its chance to catch an loyal audience for the 3 seasons it aired and that didn't happen. And since the show-runner got a new show on AMC they decided to conclude the story in 6 episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I didn't say that it deserved more than 6 episodes, that it deserved to be renewed at all, that I hate The CW, or anything of the sort. I said it's a pity it didn't do better, and guess what? Fans have a right to feel that way about their show. I'm guessing you're a fan of Supernatural or some other high-rated show, because those always feel entitled to make fun of low-rated shows and keep harping about how they should've been cancelled ages ago. It's more than a bit déclasse. We get it, Nikita has terrible ratings and deserved to be cancelled. You don't make yourself look smart or superior by rubbing that in our faces while your show lasts 9+ years and you never have to worry about its numbers.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I understand your frustration withnot getting adequate closure for 90210, but I fail to see how renew more low rated shows would have been a good thing for the CW instead of less. All Nikita's ratings prove is that it was smart of the CW not to go for a full 88 episodes, but to cut them off at a 6-epi final season.

    ReplyDelete
  17. What? arianna kosec said nothing of that sort! You're putting words in her mouth and making it sound like she's making fun of the show. She was replying to your post where you said "Nielson viewers hate Nikita so much". All she was describing was that just because they don't watch it doesn't automatically meant hey "hate" it. She was not "rubbing anything in your face".

    ReplyDelete
  18. Supernatural fans had to worry about its ratings for several years. Just because it is doing well for its network now doesn't mean that SPN fans haven't been in ratings panic mode previously. While I agree that your original comment did not require a "sighs" answer at all, neither does arianna's comment require a snap judgment about SPN or other fans. It may come off as pompous but it was hardly making fun of Nikita.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Alex says nothing about Nikita deserving another season and she is completely aware of how it has done in the ratings. This isn't TVbtN.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Of course you have a right to feel bad your favorite show didn't do better. I felt that way a lot of time when the show i like get canceled. But you are saying that people hate Nikita and that's the reason it doesn't have higher ratings. And no i never watched Supernatural or any show that is currently on air for more then 9 years. I was just taken aback by the statement that Nielsen for some reason hate Nikita. I never mention its low rating and that it should have been canceled, just said that it failed to grab a loyal audience.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Now I'm relieved! So happy for Bones! But come on Fox, this show deserves a Monday or a Thursday

    ReplyDelete
  22. And i never said it didn't deserve the seasons it was on air. And I also didn't make fun of Nikita's ratings. I am full aware that quality of a show isn't always reflected in its ratings. What i did was comment on this passionate response about the Nielsens families. I would never make fun of the ratings, because that is just tacky IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I am pretty sure the 6 episode was CW's decision.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I wish that The CW give to 90210 also 6 episodes .. It was enough for 90210 fans .

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yaay for Hawaii Five-0!!! I was a bit worried for a while, but this season has truly been amazing, every single episode, and it seems like I'm not the only one who thinks so! Keep up the good work writers, and you too fans!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Ouch for Nikita, I guess I don't have to worry about the terrible ratings anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Good thing for Nikita is it's the final season, and we (fans) can enjoy every minute of these episodes without worrying about cancellation, closure and stuff. My guess about the low ratings is, Nikita is heavily serialized. People can't just jump in and watch a random episode and expect to have an understanding of what's going on by the end of the episode, because there are a lot of things happening in just one episode. And personally, I'd take that kind of show over any other that has a lot of filler episodes.
