Episode 5.02 - "First Days" (25-Sep-2013)
It’s a day of firsts for the Dunphy and Pritchett households. Claire is being groomed to take over Jay’s company and it’s her first day on the job, but things quickly go awry as it becomes clear that she and her father have very different management styles. Meanwhile, Luke and Manny are starting their first day of high school, and everyone’s battling nerves – especially Phil and Gloria, who aren’t ready for their babies to grow up. And Mitchell is forced to confront his jet setting, playboy boss.
Episode 5.03 - "The Big Game" (02-Oct-2013)
It’s the last game of the football season, and Cam is determined to become the first rookie coach in the school’s history to win more than two games. But he and the team have trouble keeping their game face on when they find out that the opposing team suffered a recent tragedy. Meanwhile, Claire continues to struggle at work, wanting to be seen as a colleague and not the boss’s daughter. Mitchell is having his own work related problem as he attempts to find the right moment to tell his boss that he’s quitting. Phil is intent on remaining positive even though he is facing his first month ever without a sale. And Gloria’s advice to Lily on making boys notice her has unintended results.
Episode 5.04 - "Farm Strong" (09-Oct-2013)
Cam’s single sister Pam is visiting and Cam feels compelled to hide his upcoming nuptials from her, lest she become jealous of his “perfect life.” But it’s actually Pam’s big news that ends up as a thorn in his side, especially when she accuses him of being too sensitive. Jay goes to great lengths to convince Gloria to put her vanity aside and admit that she needs glasses, forcing Gloria to point out Jay’s own health failings. And Claire convinces Phil that it’s ok for them to skip one of Luke’s endless volleyball tournaments.
Episode 5.05 - "TBA" (TBA)
After baby Joe is banned from Gymboree for his aggressive tendencies, Gloria is convinced that Joe has "the curse" – a.k.a. the mark of the devil passed down from her great-great grandfather. Meanwhile, Cam has completely immersed himself in plans for the wedding. Mitchell has graciously bowed out of the process in order keep them from quibbling over every detail, but he soon realizes that Cam may need to be reigned in when a simple cat funeral spirals out of control. And Phil has tapped into a rich vein of new clients: recently divorced moms.
