  1. That was the WORST ep by far!! Probably for the whole series. It must be a Noelle written ep. Chris/Travis did well delivering his lines but overall VERY predictable. Sam and Marlo at the beginning turned my stomach and Andy and Nick at the end were enough for me to not feel the need to finish the season. The writers say its"realistic" but its far from reality. It's too bad because this show started out amazing!! I LOVED it!! I thought the writers were being fresh and creative by not following traditional patterns other writers fall into but this season has proved me wrong. Wouldn't it b refreshing if there was a show that had writers creative enough to write for the main couple together and be able to keep it fresh and exciting without using the same old triangle/will-they-won't-they/off and on drama?!?!

It was just like I was expecting, but it wasn't bad. I think that Marlo's story will come back soon and might turn out to be interesting

  4. Loved the whole episode! The whole season has been in my eyes a refreshing change of pace from past seasons as some other people have commented on here. I'm not saying it's perfect by a long shot, but they've come a long way and I respect them for trying to shake things up.

From the previews I was expecting Christian to get taken from Andy doing something really dumb (like leaving him in the car so that her and Nick could talk in private-something the writers might have done in previous seasons). So it was refreshing to see that it happened during an emergency in the span of a few seconds and that it really wasn't her fault-it could have happened to anyone. It's nice to see the writers gravitate away from really big Andy screw up situations.

Also it was nice to see Chris get a nice big juicy storyline. While I don't think that you'll ever hear me say that any of the acting on Rookie Blue is emmy worthy, he did a pretty decent job and I'm looking forward to seeing him return on the show. One thing that's been nice this season is that while Andy is still the main character, they've been more evenly distributing the storylines amongst the characters and I've really enjoyed that.

Finally, I'm a major Andy/Nick fan, so I really enjoyed this episode. It really seemed like the reasons Andy gave at the beginning were because she denying what she really scared of. To me it seems like she was scared of starting a relationship because she was scared that she might lose her best friend if things ended up going wrong and after the way things went with Sam, she's scared of any relationship period. So I think when he opened up to her at the end I think she realized that with a guy like Nick, the relationship would be different than any that she'd had before and she didn't have to be so worried.

I'm just concerned that the writers that the writers won't see that McCollins has gained a lot of popularity (it's at least 50% of fans on all of the websites I've visited, if not more) and feel obligated to see McSwarek through to the end. At the beginning of the season I was resigned to seeing Andy and Sam end back up together, but now that Andy and Nick are so popular I'm starting to hope maybe the writers will change their plan. Somebody on another website described it sort of like Dawson's Creek, where the writers started out with Joey and Dawson as the original final plan, but when they introduced Pacey as a love interest they had to change it because the relationship became so popular (I thought that was a really good comparison).

Anyway regardless I will continue to watch the show. I've been impressed by the show this season and I guess I'm not the only one considering their ratings have been the highest this year since the first season. I just hope they aren't the type of writers that listen to the loudest fans-no matter whether that happens to be who I agree with (I'm not talking about the majority, but instead people who harass, insult, or annoy show creators/producers/writers in order to get them to change something about a show).

  5. I am not a huge Andy/Nick fan, I much prefer Andy with Sam because I feel they have more chemistry. However, this episode was fantastic, albeit pretty predictable. In the end I felt like Andy and Nick felt real but I would not place a bet that they end up together. There is just too much history with Sam and Andy.

  6. Be mad all you want, but you N/A fans are crazy. They really looked like 2 teenagers tonight. The giggling and knocking stuff over? Really? Where is this chemistry you guys see?! Doesn't even compare to Sam and Andys scene in 2.11. Just sayin. Oh and by the way, Luke/Andy/Sam... Nick/Andy/Sam... real creative writers, good job.

  7. I don’t know where you’re getting your info from but ratings are down. Not down by much from last year but down from season one and two. Partly due to the natural cycle of shows but looking at the ratings they seem to take a dive when the McSwarek storylines do. I’m also not sure what sites you visit but I haven’t found one yet that has a fraction of the popularity Sam and Andy have. If you like Nick and Andy, that’s great! Someone might as well enjoy the season. I know there were a lot of Luke and Andy fans who hated the idea of Sam and Andy so I’m sure many of those have abandoned ship to a less sinky one. ;) Which, by the way, seems to be a mirror image to Nick and Andy. She was always smiley and flirty with Luke (like she was with Nick) last nights makeout scene reminded me of Andy and Luke “doing it” at the house they went to look at. And that’s why I don’t see Nick and Andy being end game. There’s nothing different about this relationship than some of her other relationships. With Sam, we see a passion that only they have. If the chemistry between Ben and Missy wasn’t so strong, I would consider jumping on whatever ship struck my fancy at the time and ride it until the excitement/novelty wore off at which point I would find another ship that blew my dress up. But the writers never really explored Sam and Andy long enough for the novelty to wear off or for the spark to die down. That’s why I’m still riding this crazy train...I mean ship!

  8. I don’t see the chemistry between them either. But then I never saw it between Luke and Andy either. The way Andy is with Nick reminds me of what she was like with Luke. It always seemed she was having a good time but it was never “heavenly” until Sam.

I also find it incredibly annoying that the writers are already resorting to recycling storylines. This will be three love triangles in 4 seasons for Sam and Andy. Really creative! (insert dripping sarcasm)

I’m secretly hoping Nick isn’t back for next season because he was super HOT in Beauty and the Beast and I’d love to see more of him there next season!! RB Nick doesn’t do it for me. But when I saw him in BATB I almost didn’t recognize him, but he sure caught my eye!! ;)

  9. I'm not a die-hard fan of the show, I'm just watching it. I just can say, and this is my opinion, that Swarek is a bit annoying and very much immature and unquiet for his age. Nick is much more adult.
And easier to have fun with. I would pick the last. That's what it seems to me.

  10. Actually, the 18-49 demo is not as good as last year but it's still got a lot going for it (the current lead in has a much older demo than previous years and it's the first time that it's ever repeatedly gone up against a show that isn't showing repeats-a sucky reality show though it might be). However I was correct about total viewership increasing. So you don't have to go through each weeks reports (compared to the previous 3 years total viewership is up by 5% as of 8/6): http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2013/08/06/up-for-the-second-week-abc-marks-its-most-watched-week-since-mid-june/195924/

And as for sites where Andy and Nick share at least 50% of the fanbase (or close to it) you can pretty much take your pick if you're not looking at specific threads dedicated to one couple or another. GetGlue, Youtube (look on the previews for upcoming episodes or even just general Rookie Blue videos), E-online/TvLine/other professional spoiler sites (look in the comments sections when there's spoilers about Rookie Blue), or this site (seriously this site seems to be 75% McCollins fans). I wasn't pulling that statistic out of my ass-it might be rough, but it is approximately correct. I'm not a rabid shipper who thinks that 99% of comments are about my ship when only 1% are or at least I try my hardest not to be lol ;)

And I can kind of see the comparison between Nick and Luke, but I just happen to think the relationship is just totally different (and so would I guess a lot of people think because Nick and Andy are so popular, whereas Luke and Andy were only a little popular). Luke was a good guy and so is Nick, but Luke and Andy were never really friends. That allows them to be on a much more even playing field and really open up to one another without any reservations or hesitations-in my mind the best relationship is someone who's your best friend and you can share anything and everything with (and that you want to with). Passion's important to some extent, but I think it gets played up too much on TV (that push/pull can be fun to watch, but I would pull my hair out dealing with it personally). I enjoy watching Nick and Andy because they make me laugh and smile-and I'm talking cut the top of your head off type smiles. I personally get frustrated with all the angst and drama of McSwarek, but hey everybody's different and I respect that not every ship is going to float everyone's boat and that people see different things that appeal to them.

  11. i totally agree. there is no chemistry between them

  12. In reality i'm sure most woman would much rather be with a man like Collins being those that value self respect. I agree that though they both are not as aged as sam Collins' actions display much more maturity and consideration. sam is more consumed with not taking responsibility for his arrogance and shitty treatment. At this point he needs to grow up and start acting like a man. Officer Collins has proven much more the adult.

  13. Impressed by the comparison of Joey and Dawson could not be more spot on. Miss Potter more than obviously had an unhealthy dramatized taken for granted relationship with dawson until Mister Witter revealed a darling daring devotion that took all us fans by storm. The audience has grown to love and appreciate the magic in the Joey and Pacey connection over everything else like they will with Officer Collins and Officer McNally one day with the best of luck. After which the characters fall head over heels alongside the endearing audience as better people adults and cops. Rookie Blue has taken a meaningful expressive and most of all IMPORTANT turn this year in developing its entirety of characters. Furthermore I hope the writers/producers actions in addition to the audiences observations really grow alongside the roles in the show.

  14. Again, I disagree. I've compared seasons and episodes and this seasons ratings are still down (not by much from last year) just because a site says an ep had the highest viewers in 3 seasons doesn't mean the whole season as a whole is higher. Just that particular ep number is up (which it was, cause I checked) ratings in the past have taken a dip around 9 & 10 with the exception of S1.

As for the sites, I agree this site leans towards Collins. However, slightly less than half the comments here are not favouring Collins and there's really not that many posters here. The site I frequent, I always got in general discussion not a thread for a couple and I'd say the large majority are McSwarek. (The site is Two Worlds Collide, check it out. It has a huge membership).

I like Andy with Luke, if she cannot be with Luke, than i would like her to be with Nick, i just don't like Andy & Sam together, apart i like both as long as they are not a couple. I just hope that Luke will come back full next season and that they will explore Andy & Luke more.

  16. It wasn't just that episode though. You're right that about that episode being higher, but if you go back and check their other articles you'll see that they update the percentage of how this season compares against the past three seasons (and it has nothing to do with each individual episode-they're comparing the season as a whole).

The percentage has been falling, but I still think that Rookie Blue has been performing admirably considering that it's the first year ever that the show preceding it has a lower demo and lower audience than it the past couple of weeks, plus football is on now. That means that people are specifically tuning in for Rookie Blue and not just leaving the TV on after whatever show is on before it (a fair number of people do that-it baffles my mind, but whatever). The true test will be how it performs the rest of the season.

As for the comments on here (as well as any other site), you can't just look at how many comments are posted. There are lurkers here and everywhere else. That means that people who don't want to comment are going to vote up with whatever they agree with. If you look at here or most other general sites you'll see that most of the McCollins comments have at least just as many up votes, if not more than the McSwarek comments.

And I actually did google Two Worlds Collide and found out it's a McSwarek shipping community. That's not a fair way to judge how people feel about McCollins because people there are going to be biased-they're obviously going to be pro-McSwarek. That would be like if I told you to go check out a McCollins shipping forum to prove that people don't like McSwarek (there's not one yet, but I would bet you $100 there will be one within the next couple of weeks).

If you want a fairer way to judge, go to tumblr and search #mccollins or #mcswarek and just look at what people say. Or like I suggested in my earlier post go to a general site like Youtube, GetGlue, E-Online/Tv-Line/any other professional spoiler site (comments section), or just some general tv site that covers Rookie Blue (and is not a shipper specific site or forum).
