For Orphan Black season 2, two new recurring roles are being cast, one of whom is Cal, who is 30, male, Caucasian, and first appears in episode 2.03. He lives off the grid in a house he built in the woods. The other role is Pastor Johanssen, who is 50, male, and first appears in episode 2.02. He’s the charismatic leader of a “Prolethean” sect living at an organic farm/compound and believes that synthetic biology is against God’s will.

I think it'd be super cool if Cal turned out to be a male version of the clones.

ReplyDeleteDon't no what to think about Cal, but like the whole 'house in the woods' thing...Hope they cast someone really intense for this one!

ReplyDeleteI think I'm going to start watching this show! It reminds me of a book series I read in middle school called Replica. The main character Amy is a clone and there are 12 of her and they have superhuman abilities (not super powers per say). Later they find out there are 12 Andy clones they were designed to mate with to make a clone army! And of course Amy's mother was one of the scientists and kept her even when they were supposed to destroy them. This seems like an adult version of a similar concept.
ReplyDeleteCreators have already confirmed any new clones they introduce in S2 will still be played by Tatiana. They have lots more they want to do before they start considering clones played by other actors.
ReplyDeleteOB is one of the few good female-driven shows to come out in recent years, I personally think adding a set of male clones would take away from that. I don't even want other female clones, just more Tatiana.
Same. I wouldn't want to see that happening anymore than I would want to see a bunch of new clones before it becomes ridiculous. Cosima and Alison barely get enough screentime as it is.
ReplyDeleteIt's not that I don't want more of our clones and Sarah's story opened up further, but I think that Jordan Gaviras is a really good actor and I would love to see the possibility of that expanded, even if it be season 3 or 4.
