  1. Excited! And hoping for Breaking Bad to get ALL the nominations!
    (well not literally but yeah)

  2. I'm sure Peter and Stewie will be right (http://uppix.net/f/d/7/61cc1b4824f52a8a856fad8760c39.jpg ) but I'll watch that live stream, thanks.

Here's hoping shows will get nominations based on merit and not on how much networks push for them with the Emmy voters.

  3. Can't wait for the announcements!!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Thanks for posting Klutzy_girl. :)

    ReplyDelete
  5. So excited!! Hope they announce before i have to go out!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  6. Lots of Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad I hope for.

And low and behold...could they finally come to their senses and give Fringe one??!

    ReplyDelete
  7. They start in about 1 minute :)

    ReplyDelete
  8. I doubt Fringe will be nominated - but John Noble has been snubbed so many times in the past that I'd love to see him nommed.

    ReplyDelete
  9. How is Timothy Olyphant not nominated? My Gosh...

    ReplyDelete
  10. I'm holding my breath!

    ReplyDelete
  11. I'm so disappointed John Noble didn't even get a nod :(

    ReplyDelete
  12. Cable Dominated the Drama series categories

    ReplyDelete
  13. maybe for the finale season, there's always next year

    ReplyDelete
  14. I'm fucking pissed that Fringe got nothing, zip!

Now i hope Homeland wins it all.....

    ReplyDelete
  15. I typed "Fring" and a result came up...but of course related to Gus Fring from Breaking Bad

    ReplyDelete
  16. Please breathe before your head turns blue!

    ReplyDelete
  17. We can still hope but I'm not optimistic that Fringe will get any Return of the King treatment.

    ReplyDelete
  18. No real surprises, tbh. I'm happy with the nominations, actually.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Wow - I love Big Bang Theory but really?

Some really shocking nominations - I've seen a lot of the shows nommed and really surprised at how they've ended up there.

    Game Of Thrones...seriously? :|

    ReplyDelete
  20. Are you kidding? You don't think GOT doesn't deserve it?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Somehow i doubt it......but maybe?

    ReplyDelete
  22. of course fringe got nothing. those pricks have never supported sc fi why would they start now?

    ReplyDelete
  23. ugh no community either

    ReplyDelete
  24. I'm starting to think the only way Fringe will get any nomination ever would be if Anna Torv walked into the Academy president's office and gave him a bj.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Mayim Bailik and Jim Parson's Noms were deserved

    ReplyDelete
  26. I think we can agree that he will have more amazing scenes in this final season

    ReplyDelete
  27. wishful thinking

    ReplyDelete
  28. Anything can happen, Fringe wasn't suppose to make it to a final season but it did, anything is possible

    ReplyDelete
  29. Upset that Revenge and Once Upon a Time were snubbed

    ReplyDelete
  30. Modern Family for Outstanding Comedy Series 3 Years In A Row

    ReplyDelete
  31. Way too many acting noms for Downton Abbey. And Katey Sagal not getting a nomination but Kathy Bates getting one is a travesty.

    ReplyDelete
  32. nominated for writing in a comedy

    ReplyDelete
  33. Oh no! Maybe 20 years ago that would have worked, thank god times have changed! Anna would never stoop so low, literally! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  34. You know the expression Always a bridemaid never the bride, well that's them alright!

    ReplyDelete
  35. So they snubbed OUAT, Revenge and Fringe yet again.

Not surprising, considering EMMY's have a tendency of disregarding any genre shows that have real quality(case in point Buffy getting constantly snubbed for emmys through its entire run, despite stuff like "The Body" or Hush)

    ReplyDelete
  36. I agree Parsons deserved his nom, but as a series, absolutely not (over shows like Community etc)

As for Game of Thrones - Justified and Sons of Anarchy are both better.

    ReplyDelete
  37. While Peter Dinklage is always the obvious choice for a GoT nomination and I'm really glad he's on the list,I was kinda hoping that they would nominate one of the younger actors.Emilia,Richard,Alfie(who was brilliant in season 2)...They were the show's biggest (and most pleasant)surprise for me.
    And Lena Headey!Come on people!

Here's hoping GoT wins outstanding drama!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Agreed but not really surprised. Whoever is responsible for the EMMY nominations seem to instantly blank-out the moment any genre-show comes up.

If Buffy never got nominated despite episodes like The Body, that still has yet to be topped on tv, no genre show will ever get recognized there.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hell, even Fringe...

    ReplyDelete
  40. Can't say there were too many surprises there. Over all a rather dull final set of nominations. It would have been nice to have had a few nominations from deserving shows and actors that aren't the normal shoe-in ones.

    ReplyDelete
  41. 4 for 4 for Cranston

    ReplyDelete
  42. The typical boring nominations in the major categories and I bet it will be the same boring wins too. Emmys need some fresh blood.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Anyone else flew through that list looking for Fringe anything? ;)

    ReplyDelete
  44. Seriously, these awards doesn't look like something to give a damn about!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Nope buddy! I guess, these awards are completely rigged.

    ReplyDelete
  46. NeedACleverName19 July 2012 at 15:12

I would really have liked to see Awake get at least one nod. :(

    ReplyDelete
  47. lostrocks4ever19 July 2012 at 15:13

Same as always, no surprises. Would have been nice to see fringe up there but I guess nothing will ever change with the emmys

    ReplyDelete
  48. Right? I've been bored for ages with the Emmy's. Sure, the typical noms are pretty good, but the Emmy's completely ignore other great performances and give the 'oldies' noms year after year? Why bother watching? Same noms, winners rotate a 'surprise' win every other year or so. 'Annoyed' is putting it lightly for me.

    ReplyDelete
  49. At what point will Emmy voters realize they're coming across as bribed old men ?

I'm not even sad Fringe, Sons of Anarchy, Raising Hope, Community *, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia & co didn't get noms. The contrary would have been hugely surprising.

*Actually, Community, the show too awesome for NBC, got its first Emmy nom for best writing (Chris McKenna - Remedial Chaos Theory). Cool, cool, cool, it's almost as if this competition wasn't rigged !

Damages and Parks & Rec got noms for their lead actress (Close and Poehler), I love that, but were are the noms for Nick Offerman/Paul Rudd and John Goodman/Dylan Baker, let alone the nom for Parks & Rec as best comedy ?

I'm only surprised that Justified got snubbed this time (last year they got plenty of noms) and especially that Boss didn't get anything. Starz was most definitely pushing for that show. Hell, even Golden Globe winner Kelsey Grammer didn't even get nominated ! Less surprisingly, Magic City and Spartacus didn't get anything, not even costumes / stunts. I'd be sad for Tremé if I was up to date — but Simon's previous show (The Wire, often called the best show ever) only got two noms in its 5-season run (for writing episode 3.11 and the series finale).

They could be a little more subtle : I genuinely like the show but nominating FOUR Modern Family actors into the single "best supporting actor" category for the 3rd year in a row (minus Ed O'Neill in season 1) is just plain ridiculous. Here's hoping Ed O'Neill gets it this year, I guess. And nominating Sofia Vergara too, really ? She has boobs, an annoying voice and she yells. How is that Emmy caliber ? If they wanted to nominate a Modern Family actress besides Julie Bowen, might I suggest Ariel Winter (Alex) ? Oh, right, she's not the right age so she doesn't count (I'm sure that had Lena Dunham not written, directed, produced and starred in Girls, she wouldn't have gotten noms because she's just 26).

But the bribed old men are just the tip of the iceberg, the networks are part of the problem too. If FOX wanted Fringe or Raising Hope to get Emmys, they would push for it. But what would they gain from that ? Nothing, it's much more profitable to help New Girl, so they spend money in advertising it, Zooey Deschanel probably played with dolls with the granddaughters of the members who visited the set meanwhile, stuff like that. Glee lost its place, clearly, FOX wants to push New Girl this year. Fringe didn't even get noms for SFX, for crying out loud !

Well played, FX, with your American Horror Story 'miniseries'. Had they been in the category they belong in (drama series), AHS would have gotten 3-4 noms at best, not 12. And LOL at ABC for playing the "miniseries" card on Missing (oh, let's all bow to The Movie Star Ashley Judd). On the same note, HBO (which put Luck as miniseries), didn't get as much luck as FX or ABC. Dustin Hoffman, Michael Mann or David Milch not even nominated is horseshit.

I'm happy for those I wasn't sure would be nominated : Curb your Enthusiasm, Larry David, Amy Poehler, Louis CK, Chris McKenna, Will Arnett & Jon Hamm (30 Rock), Dylan Baker (The Good Wife), Michael J. Fox (Curb & The Good Wife), Jeremy Davies (Justified), Giancarlo Esposito & Mark Margolis (Breaking Bad), Vince Giilligan (not for writing but for directing ep 4.13), Raising Hope (for best music / lyrics and Martha Plimpton… for The Good Wife).

    ReplyDelete
  50. Agreed. I believe the 'old', same nominees from years past are good, but the Emmy's are completely snubbing other great talents. John Noble's work is at least nomination worthy. Emmy's suck for dissing Fringe again.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I am annoyed, sad, and actually really pissed that Fringe wasn't nominated for anything. John Noble deserves at least a nomination for his great performances. The special effects and makeup were stellar. Directing on this show is way above many other shows, and I'd dare say, at least comparable to those that were nominated. My list can go on. Now I'm really pissed. I'm totally skipping the Emmy's this year again.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I was somewhat hoping for a Once Upon a Time nom somewhere. Their writing team is excellent imo. Wardrobe could've been nominated at least, minus the ugly-ass fairy costumes, of course...you know what? That's probably why they didn't get a costume nom. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  53. Seriously. Why is scifi always snubbed at the Emmy's? Fringe isn't even a typical scifi show. It's quality acting, directing, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I too am royally pissed at Fringe getting nothing. I almost feel like a child throwing a tantrum right now. It is totally unfair.

    ReplyDelete
  55. (Yeah, that's right, I'm so annoyed & angry, I'm posting again about the Fringe snub!)

    ReplyDelete
  56. I'm going to throw a fringetrum! :(

    ReplyDelete
  57. Emilia's performance for season 2 wore me out a bit, but I was really hoping for an Alfie and a Lena nomination. Peter was superb, as always, but imo those two gave better performances than a few other nominees I'm seeing in their respective categories. Then again, it's hard gunning for a Supporting Actor nod when you've got the outstanding dudes of Breaking Bad competing against you.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I will not watch the Emmy's, no matter what channel they are on.
What does it take for out standing acting (John Noble, Anna Torv), awesome writing and directing, visual and special effects and music to be recognized.
So stinks that Fringe didn't get anything.
John, Anna, you deserve all the awards in the world. Know that the fans stand behind you 1000%

    ReplyDelete
  59. I really hate these Emmy nominations, it's like they always nominate the same people they know/like and ignore all the other brilliant talented people and shows out there.

There's one thing I love though: SHERLOCK! Please win!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Well, she is related to Rupert Murdoch. But yeah, Anna Torv is something diffrent that most of her relatives.

    ReplyDelete
  61. of course there's nothing for fringe and cast :( ehhh it's not fair, john noble and anna this season showed us how talented they are .

    ReplyDelete
  62. Ugh is it really necessary to have the entire cast of modern family nominated? The cast of P&R and Community deserve it more

    ReplyDelete
  63. Total support and affection to Sherlock and Homeland (both shows and their amazing cast). I adore Breaking Bad and Mad Men too. I feel bad for John Noble (and Robert Sean Leonard, too. At last, Hugh won the Golden Globes). I guess it's time for me to watch Downtown Abbey. I've got a real problem with Game of Thrones anyway. I can't fall in love with it. I would love and I really appreciate Blackwater (oustanding) and Tyrion Lannister (smart is sexy) but... I'll try it again. I feel alienated because everybody loves it and I just can't find a reason for myself. Lol. Good luck to everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I already threw one but i'm up for another!

    ReplyDelete
  65. As usual I agree with almost all the Drama categories and don't care about the Comedy. XD

Nice to see Downton Abbey continue to get recognition in its new category. I think it has more nominations in the regular Drama Series categories than in the Mini-Series categories! Awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  66. There is a reason the same shows and people get nominated year to year. They are clearly superior. They should NEVER rotate in new blood just to make it "fresh" as that would ruin any legitimacy of the award.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I had a feeling Downton Abbey moving to the Drama Series categories and out of the Mini-Series categories meant an end to Justified or Sons of Anarchy nominations... I really cannot complain about that though as I think Downton Abbey is better than SOA and Justified despite loving both series.

The Mini-Series category is the biggest sham! XD
I agree it is a refuge for shows that have no chance of winning in the Drama categories. Quite sad that there are legitimate mini-series that get overlooked so that Missing and American Horror Story get nominated.....

    ReplyDelete
  68. For it seems the last decade Emmy drama nominations have been all about HBO, Showtime and AMC with one special other show thrown in (in this case Downtown Abbey). Good to see they are continuing the tradition. I can now happily skip all things Emmy for the next couple months. Saves me so much time.

    ReplyDelete
  69. They certainly need to do something to shake things up. At least with the Oscars you get new movies if not always new actors. Perhaps the Emmys need to consider opening up to more nominations. That way more people can enjoy the ride before the same people win each time.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Nope. Not because it didn't deserve to be there. A lot of shows deserved to be there. But because it's a genre show without massive ratings and less critical acclaim than last season. That's 3 strikes against it. Apparently for the Emmys if you are a drama with poor ratings that makes you award worthy but if you are scifi, you better be getting X-Files and LOST sized ratings.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Single best thing to come out of the Emmy nomination announcement was this tweet from the CW:

#Emmy nomination day! Or as we call it, Thursday.

Bwah! Love their sense of humor.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I agree that the academy should never rotate nominations for the sake of variety. That's just ludicrous. However, there are a lot of shows and performances nominated that are definitely NOT superior.

Mad Men season 5, Downton Abbey season 2, Edie Falco in the comedy category, and all of Boardwalk Empire's major-category nominations are undeserved in my opinion. I like Boardwalk Empire but it has always just been a solid show and nothing that would elevate it to an excellent series worth so many Emmy nominations, except for Kelly MacDonald in season one. She deserved that.

Too many shows and performers get lazy nominations by the academy because of their show's reputation or the reputation of the network they are broadcasted on. Because of this laziness by the Academy too many worthy programs and performances, which are easily more worthy than many nominees, are ignored or overlooked year after year.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Rather good nominations in the drama section. Bit surprising that Luck didn't get a single one. The acting was great and some of the actors would have deserved a nod at least.
Also glad Hatfield & McCoys getting some Emmy love, loved that mini-series as well as Kostner's and Paxton's performances.

The comedy nominations - as usual - are questionable. Glad Louie gets some well-deserved love. Apart from that other great shows and actors - mainly Community, P-Rex + FX comedies - got snubbed again. A shame actually.

    ReplyDelete
  74. im disappointed yet again Grey's supporting actress gets over looked again Sandra Oh did phenomenal this season :(

    ReplyDelete
  75. Not really surprised.
I've watching some shows out of convenience, and noticed some outstanding performances.
Hope Kathy Bates gets at least one win out of her two nominations.

    ReplyDelete
  76. In the full list above, Once Upon A Time nominated for costume and makeup categories.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Really? I missed that! Thanks for letting me know! :) YAY!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Wait a minute. I just realized that Once was nominated for their visual effects. Seriously!?! They might've done well for maybe 2-3 episodes, but as a whole, their effects were terrible! And that's coming from a diehard fan here! FRINGE's visual effects team is WAY better and deserved that Emmy nom more imo! Ugh! SO upset at the Fringe snub again! (Although, I am happy that Once got that 2nd nom, versus some other random show I don't watch or care about.)

    ReplyDelete
  79. OUAT's SFX were often terrible. This is a baffling nomination.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Do you know where the emmy's are awarded? I'm going in for a fringemob. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  81. I know nominations can't please everyone but these look pretty underwhelming to me, Way too many noms for Downton Abbey and of all the actresses that could be nominated for Drama they pick Kathy Bates??!! I'm pretty much resigned to Fringe getting nothing (although a tiny part of me always hopes John Noble and Anna Torv will be nominated) but it's disappointing to see Justified get nothing in the main drama categories as well.

    ReplyDelete
  82. In California, but now exactly sure where, probably L.A. but i could be wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  83. The Nokia Theater
    1005 West Chick Hearm Ct
    Los Angeles,California 90015

If you post it they will come! :D

    ReplyDelete
  84. So disappointing and frustrating! what i can't believe is Once Upon A Time got a nom for special effects,WTF there special effects are a joke, they have a lousy cgi department,i don't know how they were nominated?

    ReplyDelete
  85. Great. Very happy with the noms for Breaking Bad, Louie, Parks and Rec, Homeland, Girls, Community and GoT.

    ReplyDelete
  86. You're right my friend. Cranston deserved every Emmy he won. And Mad Men too, but we can discuse if S4 of Breaking Bad is superior to last MM season.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I hope he goes 6/6 since season five is divided in two.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I can't complain about that field. It's too crowded. When you have Aaron Paul and Giancarlo Esposito, Jared Harris, etc, etc.

The only one who deserved a nomination besides Dinklage is Alfie Allen.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Justified last year only got acting noms. It wasn't a surprise with Breaking Bad coming back, Homeland and Downton Abbey moving.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Sons of Anarchy doesn't deserve a drama nomination. Last season finale was a complete lack of respete to the viewers. Sutter doesn't have balls.

    ReplyDelete
  91. CW is never getting nominated. Blame Ostrown or whatever she was called.

Supernatural would have probably been nominated on another network. But I don't care because it would have been canceled long ago.

    ReplyDelete
  92. S4 of Fringe doesn't deserve a nomination. They should have nominated the show in S2 and John Noble of course. Now it's too late. And the shows in the drama field are 100.000 better than Fringe.

    ReplyDelete
  93. There is no way in hell Revenge or Ouat can be compared to GoT or Breaking Bad. There isn't.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Too many great lead actors. And his performance isn't showy, his character is more subtly and the academy isn't a fan of those characters.

Too bad because I think once you miss a nomination they forget about you.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Those are the channels with the best series.

    ReplyDelete
  96. As much as I love Peter Drinklage, Giancarlo Esposito deserves the supporting nod this year.

    ReplyDelete
  97. CW would never get a nomination, because those actors are clearly not as good as the Emmy winners. How can you compare Bryan Cranston to an actor on the CW... You could blame Ostrof or you could just blame the inferior acting abilities of almost every actor on the CW shows! Yeah I like Supernatural too, but seriously I would never consider their actingwork as emmy-worthy! An emmy should be an honour, and no show on the CW deserves that honour!

    ReplyDelete
  98. I'm not comparing them to Cranston. No one in any channel can be compared to him.

Matthew Fox got a nomination for Lost, you really think he is much better than Jensen Ackles?

Jim Beaver definitely deserves a nomination for guest actor in Death's Door.

And CW didn't even get tecs noms.

True Blood got a nomination for being in HBO. If The Vampire Diaries were on HBO it would have gotten a nomination way before.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Yeah I agree there is something fishy with the tech noms, where is Fringe? And why is Once Upon A Time there!
But I really don't think Ackles deserves an EMMY! Yeah maybe some people didn't deserve a nomination like Fox and like every Modern Family member. But then that place would be reserved for people who do deserve it! And imo I would never ever give a nomination to The Vampire Diaries, I like it. But those plots are sometimes so contrived and absurd and their acting work is mediocre at best! Actually the best actors on the CW are Maggie Q and Ackles/Padalecki, but still not good enough for an emmy. Maybe that could change with shows like Arrow and Cult...

    ReplyDelete
  100. Not an emmy just a nomination.
