-Ratings Breakdown:
CBS led the Tuesday overnights despite airing all repeats, with a 2.3 rating point advantage over second-place Fox. But Fox is the network to beat among adults 18-49. The encore telecast of NCIS topped the evening with an 8.1 rating/13 share at 8 p.m., followed by repeats of spin-off NCIS: Los Angeles (#1: 8.1/13) and recent entry Unforgettable (#2: 5.1/ 9) from 9-11 p.m. Crime still pays, even in encores.

Glee on Fox continues to deteriorate at an alarming rate, with a distant second-place 5.4/ 9 in the overnights at 8 p.m. Comparably, that dipped from the year-ago evening (8.0/12 on 12/07/10) by 32 percent. Next on Fox was freshman sitcom New Girl (#2: 5.0/ 8), which is poised for 9 p.m. time period dominance among adults 18-49, followed by sophomore Raising Hope at a third-place 3.4/ 5 at 9:30 p.m. Year-to-year, New Girl built from former Tuesday 9 p.m. occupant Raising Hope (4.2/ 6) by 19 percent, while Raising Hope versus short-lived Running Wilde at 9:30 p.m. (2.6/ 4) was up by 31 percent.

Third overall for the night was NBC, which inched past fourth-place ABC by one-tenth of a rating point with its line-up of 8 p.m. special A Michael Buble Christmas (#2: 5.0/ 8), which performed admirably, and two-hours of The Biggest Loser (4.3/ 7 from 9-11 p.m.). Compared to one year earlier (5.1/ 8 on 12/07/10),The Biggest Loser dropped by 16 percent.

Over at ABC, Last Man Standing at 8 p.m. lost some steam with a second-place 5.8/ 9 at 8 p.m. But that was still notably above soon-to-conclude lead-out Man Up!, which earned its cancellation stripes at a fourth-place 3.2/ 5 at 8:30 p.m. As a reminder, Work It, which focuses on two recently unemployed car salesman (Ben Koldyke and Amaury Nolasco) who dress as women by day to work as pharmaceutical reps, debuts in place of Man Up! on January 3. It leads into Celebrity Wife Swap at 9 p.m., which has five episodes in the can also for a January 13 debut.

ABC filled the Tuesday 9 p.m. hour last night with repeats of sitcoms The Middle (#4: 3.0/ 5) and Suburgatory (#4: 3.1/ 5), followed by sophomore crime solver Body of Proof at a dominant 5.5/10 at 10 p.m.

Last, and very least was The CW’s combination of 90210 (#5: 1.3/ 2) and an encore telecast of Ringer (#5: 0.7/ 1).
