Updated Brackets HERE
Day 16: Today is the final day of the Second Round of the Best Show Ever Competition, and we will be moving onto Round 3 very soon. However, depending on a few circumstances, I may be unable to post the first battle of Round 3 until Friday, as I am heading away for a few days, which I had hoped wouldn't stop the competition, but it is a remote area in Wales and I may not get enough connection to get on the internet, maybe none at all. However I will be back after my short break raring to continue with the competition, and I hope you all will be back too :) Anyhow, yesterday we saw Supernatural thrash Mad Men in a surprisingly one-sided encounter which sparked a few arguments in the comments over which truly deserved the place in Round 3, yet it seemed Supernatural had a dominant position throughout the day and Man Men never challenged. Supernatural is on my list of things to watch, and I intend to watch the top few shows of the competition that I haven't already seen once we're done with the competition, and see if I agree with the majority. I would wager Supernatural will be there, or thereabouts. But is it good enough to win. That remains to be seen. In the other post, we said goodbye to MASH, and although I'm disappointed to see something I often here as a TV classic lose to one of many police procedural type shows, I was happy it reached the second round, and also gave a decent fight, taking 309 votes. NCIS appears more popular than I expected, and could yet be a dark horse for the win.
Onto today, and we have here two frontrunners for the crown meeting in Round 2. Many of the Brackets I have seen have put the winner of this battle into the semi finals at the least, yet there was no clear winner over which it will be. Chuck was a clear winner in Round 1, whilst Battlestar ground out a win, albeit against the tougher opposition of CSI. It's tough to call, and with results so surprising at times, I wouldn't bet much more than a lump of cheese on this one. It's up to you! Also today we have another tough battle, as Alias takes on The X Files, seeing two huge fan bases and cult shows taking the fight to the other. Again, I can't call it, and I can't wait to see who wins. Regardless of whether I have ant access to the internet, I have asked a friend to write down the scores at 1:30/2:00am English time tomorrow morning so I have the winner for when I return. I wish you all luck for your favourites, and more than likely have a great few days whilst I tour the shores of Wales. Let the Battles Commence.

Alias vs. The X Files
Alias
Seasons: 5 (Finished)
Previous Results: R1. WON vs. Friday Night Lights (72.71%)
Format: Action/Drama/Thriller/Science Fiction
Synopsis: It stars Jennifer Garner as Sydney Bristow, a CIA agent. The main theme of the series explores Sydney's obligation to conceal her true career from her friends and family, even as she assumes multiple aliases to carry out her missions. These themes are most prevalent in the first two seasons of the show. A major plotline of the series was the search for and recovery of artifacts created by Milo Rambaldi, a Renaissance-era character with similarities to both Leonardo da Vinci and Nostradamus. This plot and some technologies used in the series pushed Alias into the genre of science fiction.

Alias has multiple reasons why it is a great show. The main reason is that it has a great balance between action and character. The show resolves around a group of spies and the adventures/life and death situations they get into on the job. Because of this the action is a given but what the writers of Alias manage to do is create very real relationship drama in between all the action which grounds the series. Secondly the music in Alias much like that used in LOST is created by Michael Giacchino who balances the different tones of the show in his music with the action scenes having a fast paced techno beat and personal scenes having a slow and light tone. This show is a must watch because not only is the action fun but the characters are too with Jack Bristow, the father of lead character Sydney Bristow, standing out more than the others.
The X Files
