The Price of Beauty - Casting News

Former Newlywed Jessica Simpson is returning to TV next year.

VH1 has picked up a docu-series called The Price of Beauty, in which Simpson will travel the globe to learn how women famous and not-so create their own notions of beauty, Variety reports. She'll "study the local fashions, dietary fads and beauty regimes, and even participate in some of the extreme practices she discovers."

Simpson is hopeful the series will be a learning experience. "I am really looking forward to discovering how beauty is perceived in different cultures and participating in some of the crazy things people do to feel beautiful," she said. "I know we will all learn a lot on this journey."

Supernatural - Casting News

This should take some of the sting out of Adrianne Palicki's impending Friday Night Lights departure: The actress has signed on to reprise her role as Sam's ill-fated ex, Jessica, on Supernatural!

As you know, Jessica was whacked by a demon in the Supernatural pilot. She reappeared at the end of season 2 during Dean's genie-granting alternate reality head-trip, but hasn't been seen or heard from since.

Details regarding Palicki's return engagement are being kept under lock and key, but this much I can tell you: She's booked for one episode and it'll air early in the season (but not the season premiere).

Confirmation of her Supe comeback comes just days after EW.com broke the news that Palicki had landed the Jennifer Grey role in MGM's Red Dawn reboot. She's also expected to return to FNL this fall for a multi-episode arc to wrap up Tyra's story.

Short-story-shorter: Girlfriend is busy!

What say you, Supe fans? Stoked Sam's dead ex is being exhumed? Comment away!

Glee - Casting News

And you thought the Glee kids were happy before: R&B supastar Eve has just inked a deal to appear in two episodes of the Fox musical as a no-nonsense girls' choir director from a rival school, sources confirm to me exclusively.

As I previously reported, Glee producers were considering Whitney Houston for the part. But when she turned it down, Eve stepped up. (Who says no to the most buzzed-about series since... um, since I can remember?)

So what do you think? Do you agree that, especially while she's walking the comeback trail, Whitney made a mistake by taking a pass? Think Eve will make everyone forget Whit was even in the running?

BBC denies 'Doctor Who' reunion reports

Thanks to bridgetjag for the heads up.

The BBC has denied speculation of an "all-Doctors reunion" for this year's Children In Need.

The Mirror claimed that all ten incarnations of The Doctor would appear together in a 15-minute episode to be shown as part of the annual telethon in November.

The special would see David Tennant's Doctor calling on his nine predecessors to help him find a missing piece of Time Lord apparatus. The actors who portrayed the first three Doctors - William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton and Jon Pertwee - are all deceased but would be represented by archive footage.

The report also claimed that the special would mark the first appearance of Matt Smith as the Doctor, although Smith is not due to take over from Tennant in the titular role until early 2010.

A spokesman told the newspaper: "Nothing has been finalised yet, although there is discussion of a Children in Need Doctor Who special. It is too early to say what."

True Blood - Episode 2.02 - Keep This Party Going - Sneak Peek

In Sunday's new episode of True Blood, Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) heads off to the Light of Day leadership conference, aka Jesus camp. It's basically a place to brainwash people into hating vampires. Jason makes quite an impression on his fellow campers, but there's still a doubt as to whether he's really there for the right reasons.

One of his fellow campers, Amanda Jane (Molly Burnett) with her band, the God Rockets, livens the spirits at camp in the clip above with their hit single, "Jesus Asked Me Out Today," which will be available on iTunes on the True Blood soundtrack.

Take a peek at Jason at Light of Day in the clip above, and then read on if you want to know what had happened just seconds before that.

Spoiler Alert: One of the main characters gets shot. Any guesses as to whom?

True Blood - Nelsan Ellis Teases Lafayette's Crazy Season

Sunday's True Blood premiere answered at least one burning question: Is Lafayette alive? Answer: Yes! Nobody is more surprised by this turn of events than Nelsan Ellis, the actor who plays Lafayette.

As a fan of the Sookie Stackhouse novel series, on which Alan Ball based the vampire drama for HBO, Ellis knew that Lafayette, Merlotte's wisecracking cook — and part-time pornographer/drug dealer — is totally dunzo after Book 1. When he arrived on set for the finale episode's table read, he prepared himself for the end. "I thought, this was fun, time to look for the next gig," he says.

But then... what's this? That painted toenail in the car didn't belong to Lafayette after all! "'You know we're not going to kill you, right?'" Ellis remembers Ball telling him. "And I was like, 'Noooo...'" Ball told the actor that he decided to keep Lafayette in the cast after shooting a scene between Ellis and Rutina Wesley, who plays Lafayette's cousin, Tara, in the pilot episode. Ellis and Wesley have combustive chemistry for sure, which Ellis attributes to their long friendship. (They attended Juilliard together in the early '00s.)

So now that Lafayette has been spared, what's next for the flamboyant entrepreneur?

When we last saw him, he was chained up in a dungeon watching a fellow prisoner get disemboweled by a very cranky Eric, his vampire captor. Ellis reveals that, this season, Lafayette's fate will be inextricably tied with that of the vampires, but that their relationship won't always be quite as adversarial. "[Lafayette] stays with the vampires basically throughout the season," he says. "I guess how deep down the rabbit hole he goes with Eric is the biggest teaser I can give."

"Eric makes people beholden to him," says Ellis. "He did it to Sookie, and now he does force Lafayette to work for him to repay him for something he's done for him." Oh jeez, Lafayette isn't going to become a vampire, is he? Not any time soon, says Ellis. "I have a sneaking suspicion that, in the future, the vampires are going to learn to respect him and not mess with him," he says. "He's going to find a way to elevate his position with them. Lafayette is a survivor, so he's not going to stay in this scared state too long." Excellent!

Greys Anatomy - T.R. Knight Statement on leaving Grey's Anatomy

NCIS: Los Angeles - Casting News

Oscar-winning actress Linda Hunt has come aboard NCIS: Los Angeles as a series regular, sources confirm to me exclusively.

The diminutive, husky-voice Hunt will play an efficient and hard-nosed former film industry technician who now oversees the "backroom" support staff -- the folks tasked with providing everything from micro surveillance cameras to cars for the team.

"Nothing fazes her," says exec producer Shane Brennan. "But as tough as she might seem, she genuinely cares about Callen (Chris O'Donnell) and the team."

Hunt's hiring marks the latest tweak to the spin-off's evolving ensemble. Louise Lombard, who appeared in the backdoor pilot as Macy, was dismissed last month. It's still unclear whether she'll be replaced.

True Blood - Season 2 DVD & Blu-ray Pre-orders ALREADY Available from Amazing Amazon

The second season premiered just this past Sunday, to raving words of praise from delighted fans! And Amazon.com certainly hasn't wasted any time: they have already begun taking pre-orders for True Blood - The Complete 2nd Season on both DVD and high-def Blu-ray Disc. Yes, that was fast.

It's no surprise, this soon after the start of the new season (only 3 days!), that these listings are prior to HBO's official announcement for the titles. So instead of a street date, Amazon only says "This title has not yet been released. You may pre-order it now and we will deliver it to you when it arrives."

Pricing is available, however, at $59.99 SRP for the DVD and $79.98 SRP for the Blu-ray version (you can, of course, lock in your copy of either version at a discount, if you place your order now). There are no other details available so far, however, nor cover art for either version (just temp art from the promo campaign, which is even framed in a Blu package border on the BD version!). Stay tuned, though, and we'll update you further on this, just as soon as we find out more (errr...it may be a while). Our thanks to reader Guy LaRocca for the heads-up!

House - Latest from Ausiello

Question: Obviously the main focus of the House premiere will be House in the "loony bin." But what will the rest of the cast be up to? --Rachel
Ausiello: Enjoying the rest of their vacation. No joke. I'm told the two-hour One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest-inspired season premiere will feature only two of the show's main players: House and Wilson. Everyone else will show up the following week. "It is a bold move," Hugh Laurie acknowledged at last night's Paley Center for Media event, Creating Great Characters. "We are moving into our sixth year and I suppose the writers felt that we couldn't just reprise the same stories, the same sets, the same look, the same problems. We needed to go on an adventure, and this is it."

Greys Anatomy - 2 Big Casting Scoops

2 Big Casting Items from EW

Story 1
Finally, some good news for poor, lovelorn Callie: Grey's Anatomy has officially promoted her on-screen leading lady, Jessica Capshaw, to a full-fledged series regular, sources confirm to me exclusively.

The news hardly comes as a surprise. Last month, series creator Shonda Rhimes all but signed off on Capshaw's promotion when I interviewed her after the finale. "I love Jessica Capshaw," she gushed. "And when I say love I mean love. She couldn't be a more wonderful person, and I feel like the chemistry Arizona and Callie have feels like the Meredith and Derek chemistry to me. I find them delightful to watch."

The ex-Practice star joined Grey's last February as a recurring love interest for Sara Ramirez's Callie. Her arrival came on the heels of the controversial dismissal of Brooke Smith as Callie's girlfriend Dr. Hahn.

What do you think? Happy Capshaw is sticking around? Are you as high on Callizona as Rhimes is? Or are you still holding out hope that Dr. Hahn will one day escape from Seattle Grace's parking lot? Sound off below!

Story 2
Fall's still months away, but one of last season's bigger Grey's Anatomy cliffhangers has already been resolved: Sources confirm to me exclusively that ABC has granted T.R. Knight's wish to be released from his contract. The official decision, I'm told, came down in the past few days, just as many of his castmates began receiving their formal pickup letters from the network.

What does this news mean for George? What will Knight do next? And what about Izzie? Find out after the jump...

The actor's exit closes yet another rocky chapter for the embattled primetime soap, one that opened with Isaiahgate and worsened when, amid rumors that Knight was clashing with series creator Shonda Rhimes, George O'Malley was backburnered. Finally, Knight grew so fed up with his character's lack of storyline that he asked if he could check out three years before his deal expired. After that, all indications were that he would be let go, although Rhimes didn't make a final decision until recently. (Contractually speaking, she had until June 30 to make up her mind.)

Last month, Rhimes told me that George's relatively light storyline this year was the result of the normal "ebbs and flows" of ensemble television. But she did acknowledge that he was intentionally written lighter during the last half of the season so that viewers wouldn't think it odd that he was absent from the season finale -- something that was necessary to preserve the episode's biggest twist: that George was actually a disfigured John Doe who had been hit by a bus. "I really wanted you to not notice that he wasn't there for most of this episode," she said. "I don't think anybody noticed because of the way we laid it out this season."

Knight's departure would seem to confirm that George doesn't survive, although fans have wondered whether Rhimes is planning to pull an Elizabeth Reaser (Jane Doe/Rebecca) and have him live, only to be replaced by another actor, thanks to plastic surgeon Sloane's handiwork. That's "hilarious, ridiculous," the boss has said. However, I've heard that she was interested in having Knight appear in next season's first three episodes, but a short-term deal could not be brokered.

What will Knight do now? Per an insider, the theatrically-trained thesp is in talks to start 2010 by headlining a Broadway revival of Lend Me a Tenor, the classic farce he recently did a reading of with Alfred Molina, Tony Shalhoub and Marian Seldes.

Reps for Knight and ABC declined to comment.

Now that the question of George's future seems to have been answered, another puzzler moves to the forefront: What's going to happen to Katherine Heigl's Izzie, whose life also hung in the balance in last May's capper? Stay tuned... In the meantime, proceed to the comments and weigh in on Knight's departure.

Supernatural - Supernatural - Season 5 Starts 10th September

Thanks to Isabel and Aled for the heads up.

The CW will kick off its fall campaign on Sept. 8 with the sophomore year of "90210" and the bow of "Melrose Place."

Net has also decided to flop the time slots of its Monday dramas, which will send "Gossip Girl" to the 9 p.m. hour.

It's the second year in a row that "90210" is the centerpiece of the net's fall launch campaign, and CW is hoping that anticipation will be high for the remodeled "Melrose." CW is getting a jumpstart on its competish by launching the week of Sept. 8, but it won't be quite as quick out of the gate as last year, when the net's fall sked launched on Labor Day.

The rollout continues Sept. 9 with the two-hour preem of "America's Next Top Model," followed Sept. 10 by the preem of "Vampire Diaries" and return of "Supernatural."

The Monday slate returns on Sept. 14, though the "Gossip Girl"-"One Tree Hill" slot swap will take effect July 6 with repeat segs. The regular Wednesday slate of "Top Model" and newbie drama "A Beautiful Life" arrives on Sept. 16.

CW's Friday lineup of "Smallville" and "Top Model" repeat will not materialize until Sept. 25. On Friday Sept. 11 and Sept. 18, the net plans to run repeats of its new dramas.

CW will also rerun segs of its new series on Sundays through Sept. 27, when it formally returns five hours of program time to its affiliate stations. CW confirmed last month that it is bowing out of Sunday programming in an effort to strengthen its overall primetime perf (Daily Variety, May 5).

CW also confirmed to its affiliate stations this month that it will give back one hour of its two-hour Monday-Friday daytime block as of the 2010-11 season. At present it programs the 3-5 p.m. block with yakker "The Tyra Banks Show," one original and one repeat seg. As of 2010-11, it will return the 4-5 p.m. hour to affiliates.

POLL : What did you think of Nurse Jackie - Sweet 'n All?

Psych - Casting News

Good news, Heroes fans! You won't have to wait until September to get another glimpse of Sendhil Ramamurthy's pretty face. All you have to do is hold out until August, because that's when Sendhil will be guesting on Psych.

Yes, sources confirm to us exclusively that Sendhil will be appearing on the USA Network detective comedy Psych in an episode titled "Bollyhood Homicide," which is tentatively slated to air the fourth week of the season.

But who does Sendhil play, and what surprising family tie made this possible?

As it turns out, Heroes star Sendhil Ramamurthy and Psych director Jay Chandrasekhar are cousins, and they are both appearing in "Bollywood Homicide."

Sendhil is set to play Raj, a young man who believes that the firstborn in each generation of his family is cursed—a belief reinforced by the fact that bad things keep happening to all of his girlfriends. Jay, meanwhile, plays Jay, Raj's cousin who is directing a Bollywood-style play at the local theater and engaged to be married. Shawn (James Roday) and Gus (Dulé Hill) are on the case, of course, trying to determine who's actually cursed and/or who's going after Raj's girlfriends. The real Jay is directing the episode just as his fictional counterpart is directing the local theater's Bollywood project.

We're also hearing that the Psych theme may get a Bollywood-style remix just for this episode.

"Bollywood Homicide" doesn't have an exact airdate yet, but Aug. 28 seems likely. Psych returns to USA for season four on Friday, Aug. 7 at 10 p.m.

Any Psych fans in the house? Who loves Sendhil Ramamurthy? Make yourself heard in the comments!

Bones - Latest from Kristin

Annie in Albuquerque, N.M.: Brennan was so on the baby train last season on Bones! How can she be going back now?
She's not going back as much as she's staying undecided and unpredictable. (All the better to torture us with!) As Bones star Emily Deschanel told us when she was at the Monte Carlo TV Fest last week, "I loved the fact that Brennan was adamant about not having children, because with so many female characters it's just a given that they want children, and I think that is a wonderful choice. I think its important to have people represented who have made the choice not to have children. But I also love and respect the fact that she's unpredictable, and she did make that decision that she wanted to have children. These characters are so unpredictable, they have contradictions, and that was one thing I loved from the beginning of the show."

Matt in Boise, Idaho: Will Angela's old flame Roxie return to Bones next season?
We caught up with Roxie (Nichole Hiltz) herself at the Los Angeles Times' Envelope Emmy screening series, where she told us that she will not be back on Bones: "Not that I know of, unfortunately, but I loved being on that show. I loved playing that part. I wish it had gone on longer and been fleshed out a little bit more. Michaela Conlin is honestly one of the sweetest, loveliest girls I've ever worked with. There was no awkwardness whatsoever. I had a great time on that show. It's a good cast."

This Sunday's episode of True Blood is just as good. We see the vulnerable side to young Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll), who misses her family and is not adjusting to her newfound vampireness very well. But she soon turns to her wicked ways as she tricks Sookie into driving her to her parents' house just for a "look" at her family. She does way more than look, and as she's about to kill her mean ol' dad, Bill comes in to save the day. But he's pissed as hell at Sookie for the mess she created. Looks like more makeup sex for them is on the horizon.

Jessica in Worchester, Mass.: More on True Blood! Please!
In the next episode, more is revealed about Tara's boyfriend Eggs (Mehcad Brooks). We find out that he's spent time in prison for drugs, armed robbery and assault. Meanwhile, Lafayette asks Eric to make him a vampire. But our favorite moment of the next episode is when Sam turns into a dog (again). You must watch!

Doctor Who - Matt Smith’s Doctor To Face The Daleks Early

New Doctor Who Matt Smith will reportedly face the Daleks in one of his first on-screen adventures.

Producers of the cult BBC sci-fi show have decided to bring back the Time Lord's arch nemeses to mark Matt's debut as the Doctor next year, according to the Daily Star.

A source claimed: "Fans may take a while to get used to Matt as the Doctor so it makes sense to have him fight his most famous enemies."

The 26-year-old is taking over from David Tennant, 38, as the 11th Doctor Who in the spring of 2010.

Show bosses apparently plan to "step back in time" with their Tardis make-over for the new series, giving it blue walls and white windows, reminiscent of the 1960s time travelling vehicle.

Torchwood - Season four is ready to go

Torchwood creator and executive producer Russell T. Davies told the British press Friday that the fourth season of the sci-fi show is ready and waiting, depending on how the show's third mini-season ("Children of Earth") performs.

During a screening of the third series' premiere episode ("Day One"), Davies said he knows where he wants to go in Torchwood's next run. That's good news for fans, as there's every reason to expect that "Children of Earth" will do well both in the U.K. and in the U.S. -- where it out-rates the show that inspired it (Doctor Who) on BBC America.

Davies, the former executive producer of Who, also gave Torchwood fans reason to rejoice when he said he'd be willing to keep knocking the show out for 10 years if the viewers stay tuned. No word if show stars like John Barrowman and Eve Myles would be willing to stay on board into their middle age.

The third season of Torchwood consists of only five one-hour episodes, set to run on consecutive nights in the U.K.. BBC America will follow the same schedule, making the broadcasts an event mini-series and airing the segments just hours after their U.K. premiere.

"Children of Earth" will start airing in on BBC America July 20h. The DVD/Blu-Ray release arrives July 27th.

True Blood - Is Lafayette alive?!

Here is an excerpt of an article from calendarlive.

And drug-dealing, sex-selling gay cook Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) is chained up in Eric's basement, but at least he isn't dead, as he is from Page 5 of "Living Dead in Dallas" -- a smart move too, as Ellis is one of the best things about this often frustrating but not unlikable show.

Emily Deschanel Says a Bones-Booth Pregnancy Unlikely Next Season

We wuz robbed.

Not only did Bones and Booth not have baby-making sex on Bones last season, they probably aren't going to creating a l'il Brennan anytime soon, as Bones star Emily Deschanel says it's unlikely her character will become pregnant anytime soon.

"There are complications along the way of [Temperance and Booth] discussing having children," Emily explained during an appearance at the 49th Annual Monte Carlo Television Festival in Monaco. "I think it's very possible she will be pregnant in the future but I don't think its going to happen right away. I think she has some growing to do."

"Everyone is aware that once you get the two characters together you lose that glue that holds the show together, which is that sexual tension," she said. "I think they are being very careful about how to move forward without destroying that tension."

*#@%!!!

Emily also revealed part of season five's guest-star lineup, which includes a very famous lady rock star…

Apparently performer Cyndi Lauper will be stopping by next year. Emily said, "I don't think [Cyndi] will be playing herself, but I'm not sure what role she'll play, they're debating it now." Emily says the guest gig came about when, "I sang 'Girls Just Want To Have Fun' in one episode. She saw it and was interested in being in the show. She was an idol from when I was a child so I will probably be beside myself that day."

Stephen Fry will also be backk, and it's still true that Emily's sis Zooey Deschanel may stop by the Bones set one of these days. (FYI, Emily's cinematographer father Caleb Deschanel has directed a Bones episode, and her mother Mary Jo Deschanel, an actress, guested on House last season as Kutner's mourning mother.)

Emily says of the possible sister act, "[Zooey] is interested in being on the show, and I know [Bones executive producer] Hart Hanson would love to have her on the show. It's just a matter of finding time where she's available…It's very difficult because she's always working as an actor or touring as a musician or recording, she's very busy. So just getting the time together to get her to work on bones has been difficult but hopefully by the end we will have her on the show."

Have you dreamed up any good roles for Zooey and Cyndi Lauper to play if and when they are signed on for a guest gig? And how are you feeling about Bones right now after the switcheroo finale?

House - Most popular TV show: ratings

Thanks to Niki for the heads up.

PARIS (AFP) – US drama "House", starring Britain's Hugh Laurie as unconventional medical genius Doctor Gregory House, out-gunned rivals in 2008 to become the world's most watched show on television.

According to ratings agency Eurodata TV Worldwide, House and his team of canny diagnosticians last year gathered more than 81.8 million viewers in 66 countries, representing a potential 1.6 billion viewers.

That was far more than the 2007 and 2006 winners in the same TV drama category, "CSI: Las Vegas", about a team of forensic experts, and its spin-off "CSI: Miami".

In the TV comedy category, the US female-star cast of "Desperate Housewives" for the second year running beat "Monk" (US) and "Ugly Betty" (US), attracting 65.3 million viewers worldwide in 2008.

"The Bold and the Beautiful", also a US show, with 24.5 million viewers was the most popular soap for the second consecutive year, thrashing Mexican telenovela "Marina" and US competitor "The Young And The Restless."

Supernatural - Latest from Kristin

Sam's a blood-sucking fiend, Lucifer walks the earth and all hell is literally breaking loose. That's the situation the Winchester brothers (and their friend Bobby) will face when Supernatural returns to the CW for season five this fall. Can the world be saved, and more importantly, will the boys survive with their skins (and their relationship) intact?

We just caught up with Jensen Ackles (that's Dean himself, duh) at the Paley Center's Sixth Annual Celebrity Golf Classic and got him to answer these very questions. Read on for the scoop on Sam and Dean's role in the Apocalypse and the latest on those season-six rumors...

Jensen tells us that he imagines the boys have a crucial, but not necessarily pivotal, role to play in the war between heaven and hell. (Think of Jim Beaver's Bobby and the Winchesters more as lieutenants and corporals than generals or field marshals.)

Jensen says he's always wondered, "Are Dean and Sam (Jared Padalecki) really that important that they're going to be the focal point of this apocalypse? Or are they just going to be caught in the crossfire, trying to use whatever they can to help fight for the good? I think it's going to be more of this big, gigantic thing going on and we're stuck in the middle. I don't think we're necessarily going to be the focal point of anybody's hunt. We're going to lend whatever help we can to Castiel (Misha Collins) and the angels to do their job. But what that is, I don't know."

As for poor Sam (by which, of course, we mean incredibly well-muscled, badass and awesome Sam), Jensen says that Sam's blood-addiction will remain an issue next season: "The demon stuff is still coursing through his veins, and he's got that to deal with. The season finale ended with the big, giant realization that he was being duped into becoming what he didn't want to be. So now he's got to deal with that and try to get back to neutral."

Regarding a possible sixth season, Jensen clarified the swirling rumors a bit. He tells us, "That started over in England. Jared and I were over there doing a convention. Everything was being lined up that this was the final season. We basically just said that our contracts were for six years—whether they use us for the six years is completely up to them. As it looks right now, it won't [happen]. It's like, if there is, we're going to be a part of it. I guess the studio's fine with it. I think it's just the network, you know? It's their call."

Principal photography on season five begins July 2.

Are you excited for season five? Does the prospect of a sixth season of Supernatural sound appealing? Take our poll and then hit the comments with your thoughts!

How I Met Your Mother - DVD, Blu-ray Season 4 Date, Box Art, Extras & Specs!

Thanks to McPhee for the heads up. You can pre-order these from Amazon here.

DVD | Blu-Ray

Back at the beginning of April, we tipped you off that Fox's not-yet-announced home video releases of How I Met Your Mother - The Legendary Season 4 was up for pre-order at Amazon. And the big e-tailer wasn't just locking in advance orders for the DVD version, either; they also had a listing for a high-def Blu-ray version as well. Still, we didn't know the release dates of either one.

Until today, that is! Fox Home Entertainment has revealed to retailers (who, in turn, revealed to us) that both the DVD and BD versions of How I Met Your Mother - The Legendary Season 4 will be available to own starting September 29th! Both include all the episodes, plus Bonus Material that includes a Recap of Season 3, Commentary Tracks, a Gag Reel, the "Barney Stinson: That Guy's Awesome" Music Video, an Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Panel Discussion titled "A Night With Your Mother", and a hidden Easter Egg.

The DVD format release is in widescreen video, English: 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound audio, and with subtitles in English, French and Spanish. Cost is $39.98 SRP in the USA, and CA$54.98 SRP in Canada. The Blu-ray Disc version comes with high-definition widescreen video, English 5.1 DTS HD Master Audio, and subtitles in English, French and Spanish. Cost is $59.99 SRP in the USA, and CA$69.99 SRP in Canada. Following we have the Blu-ray box art, followed by a slightly revised DVD package versus the one we showed previously (the change seems to be in that the plastic case will be clear, rather than black, as Fox seems to be switching to a different style of case than the thinpaks they've used for previous HIMYM sets).

NCIS: Los Angeles - Casting News

Adam Jamal Craig has been added to CBS' new series "NCIS: Los Angeles" as a regular, while "The Wire" alum Michael Kenneth Williams, veteran Dabney Coleman and Paz de la Huerta have joined the cast of HBO's Martin Scorsese-directed drama pilot "Boardwalk Empire."

The CBS TV Studios-produced "NCIS: Los Angeles," a spinoff from "NCIS" that will launch behind the hit crime procedural on Wednesdays this fall, stars Chris O'Donnell and LL Cool J. It's set at the Office of Special Projects, a division of NCIS that's charged with apprehending dangerous criminals.

Craig will play a new character, Dominic Vaile, a new young agent. The actor drew the attention of the CBS casting executives this past pilot season with his performance on another CBS/CBS Studios drama pilot, "Washington Field." After the pilot didn't go, they recommended Craig to "NCIS: L.A." creator and "NCIS" showrunner Shane Brennan.

Craig, who recently did multiepisode arcs on NBC's "The Office" and "Heroes," is repped by SMS and 1 Management.

Written by Terence Winter and to be directed by Scorsese, HBO's "Empire" chronicles the early 20th century origins of Atlantic City and revolves around Nucky Johnson (Steve Buscemi), who runs a liquor-distribution ring, and Jimmy Darmody (Michael Pitt), his ruthless flunky.

De la Huerta will play Lucy, Nucky's girlfriend, a hot party girl. Williams will play Chalky White, the defacto "mayor" of Chickenbone Beach, Atlantic City's black section. He's an intelligent ex-boxer and confidant of Nucky's who rules his community with an iron fist.

Coleman will play the Commodore Kaestner, Nucky's predecessor and mentor.

Production on "Boardwalk" started Tuesday on the East Coast.

De la Huerta, whose feature credits include "The Limits of Control" and "Enter the Void," is repped by Don Buchwald & Associates, Untitled and attorney Ira Shrek.

Greys Anatomy - Jessica Capshaw Article

Thanks to Chantal for the heads up.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

While fans of “Grey’s Anatomy” have been left to speculate on the future of original castmembers Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight, some of their co-stars are no better off.

Access Hollywood caught up with Jessica Capshaw, who plays Dr. Arizona Robbins on the ABC show, to ask her if she had any insight as to the futures of Izzie Stevens and George O’Malley.

“I will absolutely be quoted as saying [series creator] Shonda Rhimes is an absolute genius because she doesn’t tell anyone anything,” Jessica said.

And in fact, not knowing what lies ahead on the show was just fine with Jessica.

“That’s actually very generous of her because she doesn’t want to burden us with knowing and not being able to tell you – or telling you!” she added.

However, Jessica’s future with the show also remains up in the air – she revealed she has yet to receive her renewal letter.

“Knock on wood,” she said.

The actress, who joined the show in 2008, was hopeful she would be returning to Seattle Grace, along with the rest of the cast.

“It’s so fantastic. It’s funny that there’s so much drama surrounding the show, because you’ve never met a better group of more decent people,” she told Access. “It’s as normal as it gets.”

True Blood - Latest from Kristin

Jamie in Crawfordsville, Ind.: Seriously, is Lafayette dead on True Blood?
We now know the correct answer to this question—and seriously, we can't tell you! Argh. (All will be revealed Sunday at 9 p.m. on HBO, when True Blood's second season premieres!) However, because we like to push our luck, we will offer you this new Spoiler Chat feature in consolation: The Clue That Helps Only One Person. Attention Lindsey O. (formerly of Illinois): The person who sat next to us that day we had lunch at the Farm in Beverly Hills is the person whose body is in the backseat of the car on True Blood. Don't tell anybody what you know, though, or it wouldn't be the Clue That Helps Only One Person anymore, now would it? BTW, if you're a Blood fan and you haven't picked it up yet, the official True Blood soundtrack features Louisiana artists like Lucinda Williams, Allen Toussaint and C.C. Adcock, and it is sooo good.

Jeanna in Las Vegas: Talk to me about True Blood! I am so excited!
We just caught up with Evan Rachel Wood, who's promoting her role in Woody Allen's Whatever Works, and she tells us this about her vampire queen True Blood character: "Sophie is half Patrick Bateman, half Paris Hilton. She loves to tell people what to do—like, she could tell Bill to go play Yahtzee or something—but she's not going to sleep with him, because she likes the ladies." Want more True Blood? We're hitting the premiere tomorrow, so email tvdiva@eonline.com or twitter @kristinalert #trueblood with your Q's, and we'll try to get you answers!
