The SpoilerTV Favourite TV Series Competition 2017 - Day 31/32 - The Final - Psych vs. Person of Interest

Hey all,

This past month has gone very quickly. It feels like just yesterday we kicked things off with 64 shows and today we have just two remaining. It's been an interesting competition, one of the more surprising with even me - having been running this thing for four years now, and having a decent awareness of what show content tends to do well around here - ultimately making predictions for the final couple of rounds that have been so far from the mark that I'd make a pretty decent Stormtrooper. But that's part of the fun. This thing isn't always predictable, and that's why I love it.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine put in a remarkable performance throughout the window, taking down a couple of former winners and generally winning ties that I never thought it would. A semi-final exit is an impressive feat. And sheesh, did Shadowhunters come close to toppling our reigning champion. Just nine votes more and the Freeform series would be in today's final. On debut - like Brooklyn - it has done incredibly well, though with its success I am less surprised because I didn't expect it to lay down and die in an early round.

So, with those two gone (but not entirely; they do compete in our third-place play-off), let's take a look at the final.

For the third time this year, Psych comes into this tie as the underdog. Twice I've suspected it will falter, against Game of Thrones and Major Crimes, and twice it has prospered. Another debutant, this has been quite something from the soon-returning (for a TV movie) series. But they say to be the best, you have to beat the best, and today that could not be truer. Even Supernatural, in its heyday era of the first few years of this competition, was not as dominant as Person of Interest. Three title wins in four was split by a quarter-final exit; Person of Interest is one win from three straight crowns. It already now boasts the record for most consecutive poll wins. Can it make SpoilerTV history and win for a third consecutive year?

A reminder of the rules:

1) Two shows will go into battle in a poll, where after exactly 48 hours, the leading show will win the battle and, with it, the competition. The final (and the third-placed decider) will run until Friday 22nd September at 12pm ET.
2) Vote for your favourite and spread the word with your friends & fans.
3) One vote per person per poll.
4) Comment on what you voted for on in the comments below.
5) Have fun. This is a friendly & competitive competition. Please do not start attacking other fans or fangroups in the comments, because this really isn't what this competition is about.
