TVInsider Interview

“Jon sees his mission this season—to save people’s lives. That’s it,” said Kit Harington about his character. Still, those around him may have been too affected by the ‘game of thrones’ to see it his way: “There’s a part of Sansa that feels very hard done by, and because of that, she is going to make not-so-honorable decisions,” Harington revealed. “Jon still sees her as just his kid sister. But he’ll start listening to her more this season.”

“Sansa’s learned how to manipulate. She’s a clever bunny now,” Turner told TV Guide. “And in a world where everyone is a manipulator —Sansa is one of the best— it’s becoming more and more difficult to tell who is loyal… even family.”

Speaking of family, there is a couple of siblings who are known for being awfully close to each other. Perhaps too much. “It’s a big season for Cersei and Jaime,” Lena Headey said. “If you thought it was complicated before, just wait. He blindly, wholeheartedly loves her; she [emotionally] vampires him.” Pretty spot-on summary of their relationship!

Interview About Euron Greyjoy

One might say Euron fills a void in the series left by the death of Ramsay Bolton (who, in turn, replaced Joffrey Baratheon as the show’s love-to-hate human villain). The comparison stops there, however. GoT writer Dave Hill says Asbaek — known for playing heroes in his native Denmark — can project a perfect “resting maniac face.” And Asbaek notes, “Ramsay was a great character and to me was 100 percent evil. I think Euron is not. I’m more like a hooligan. The guy you met at the Kingsmoot is not the guy you will meet on his ship — he’s different with different people to get what he wants.”

Kit Harrington Interview

“There is definite tension between them right from the first scene,” star Kit Harington tells EW. “There are the same problems — she questions his decisions and command; he doesn’t listen to her. But as far as where that goes or takes them or how dark it can get, we’ll see. It gets past sibling squabbling, it gets into two people power struggling.”

“It’s a nice change for me this season, he talks more, he’s more sure of himself,” Harington says of his character. “He doesn’t just know what he’s got to do but he’s more sure of what he’s saying — whereas before there was always some fear and doubt. I’ve gotten to enjoy not just grunting.”

Interview

Okay if not that, then what strikes you most about season 7?

Weiss: To me what’s most exciting is being able to play interactions between various characters that for years we haven’t been able to play. There’s a whole bunch of reunions and first time meetings that people have been waiting for for a long time and when you put it on paper you just want to do justice to the work that these guys have done building these characters over so many years. You want to give them as much as you can.

You’re currently writing the show’s final season. How’s that going?

Benioff: It’s nearly completed. Well, I shouldn’t say “nearly.”

And the odds of it airing in 2019 instead of 2018?

Benioff: We honestly don’t know yet. There’s been a lot of back and forth about air dates. That’s a long way off from being settled.
