Reconciliation may be a good word to describe the theme of Colony's fourth episode of it's second season.

The episode specifically homes in on the Bowmans, as Will (Josh Holloway) and Katie (Sarah Wayne Collins) vent off and work through their frustrations with each other, while Charlie (Jacobe Buster) doesn't exactly adjust, but instead, it's the remaining Bowmans that find they need to adjust to him.

But this is all back dropped by Jennifer's (Kathleen Rose Perkins) surveillance of the Bowmans, as she comes under more scrutiny when her new boss now assigns a detective Burke (Toby Huss) to do a full investigation into her, pushing Jennifer to give up Katie as her source. We're also introduced to another character that woks at Homeland Security named Betsy (Keiko Agena) that Jennifer nearly confides in.

The episode doesn't really deal with much else. No labor camp. No visits to the Greenzone, very little mythology. Instead it's a well done personal family episode and a of a set-up/transitional episode. There is one comedic scene that involves Lindsey (Erin Way) giving Grace (Isabella Crovetti) her lessons, in which Charlie tries to take control of what he deems is a bad situation. --And there is one little flashback scene that features a character not seen since episode 2.01 that reveals something that almost happened to LA block!

Overall it's the episodes ability to showcase Jennifer's sorrow and lonesomeness as she fixates on the lives of the Bowmans that drives a theme about the show's bigger oppressing struggle, while contemplating if alienation or being alone is asset or ultimately a burden, especially when one is forced to look at what others have, which was something that was taken away from oneself. Jennifer hears and sees things that continuously push her back and forth on giving up Katie as her source, but will she? You'll have to watch next Thursday's episode to find out!
