  1. 15 for POI 2 more than i thought it would be

    ReplyDelete
  2. Not bad for Person of interest.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Oh, well. I suppose 15 is better than 13. Still hoping for a 2 hour season/series finale for POI.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Thank you for 15 for POI! I would have watched a full season!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Yeah let's give 'Criminal minds' 22 episodes for it's 11th season(!!!) and POI only 15! Good job CBS!

    ReplyDelete
  6. Happy about 2BG, but how are they going to manage that? Expect some double episodes, unless it starts earlier and replaces a flop.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I thought they would give POI 13 episodes.Good for them.For now,anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I don't how to feel, i still think cbs are run by a bunch of idiots but i don't know.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Ah!!! Fifteen episodes for POI. Not bad for a mid season start. Also, still hoping that it won't be the last season.

    ReplyDelete
  10. 15 for Person of Interest isn't bad at all! Might be 7 less than 22 but I can live with that!

Just making sure, every freshman show is subject to additional episode orders during the season correct?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Correct. It depends on their performance once they premiere.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Whhhaaat? Supergirl is only getting 13 episodes?! That's less than Legends of tomorrow

    ReplyDelete
  13. Why only 13 episodes for Mike & Molly?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Probably 13 with a back 9 option,

    ReplyDelete
  15. Mike and Molly;'s season 6 will probably be the last with that episode order.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Did you realize that every New show has 13 episodes? Most of them will get a back 9 order

    ReplyDelete
  17. So for now all we know is that every veteran show is getting the standard order of 22 when premiering in the fall, or of 13 when set to premiere in Spring. And of course, that all new shows are getting the standard order of 13 to begin with.

POI and TBBT are the exceptions at this time of the year, but both are exceptions on themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  18. POI: 15 is better than 13. I can live with that.

    ReplyDelete
  19. 15 episodes for Season 5? I'm game for that. With the zero filler snippet from Plageman, this is the best thing that can happen.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I am guessing the end for M&M is near

    ReplyDelete
  21. so glad to see 2g's episode order especially vs mike & molly's. I was wondering what they would do if only one of their new shows flopped so they could only throw in one mid season comedy - the orders indicate it'll probably be 2 broke girls. I'm a fan of both, but definitely prefer 2bg

    ReplyDelete
  22. Looks like Melissa finally decided to leave M and M, but Im still having hopes that this doesnt end and its because of midseason timeslot sharing with TOC.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Julie Penworth is now the head of comedy development at CBS.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Again Mike and Molly for MidSeason tho teh show is doing good, not great but good.
So 2BG will eb back when one of teh enw comedies fails i guess

    ReplyDelete

Those 2 extra episodes are probably going to be the 2 hour series finale lol.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Person of Interest got 15 episodes. Liking it.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Awesome. I prefer 15 episodes than the usual 13 for POI so this is great news. Now if we can just find a way to move S5 up to the fall instead of CBS holding back the awesomeness till midseason then all will be right in the world.

    ReplyDelete
  28. So Angel from Hell, Blue Bloods, CSI: Cyber, Elementary, Hawaii Five-0, Life in Pieces, Limitless, Madam Secretary, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, The Good Wife, The Odd Couple, and Scorpion are missing ?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Nice for 2BG and Mom with their 22. I think that maybe 2BG can come in the Thursday spot if one of the new comedies fail. I like that M&M got less episodes, it may work better for the show. I don't know why did POI got 2 more episodes, but I'll take it as its final season. It's been doing poorly for the two past seasons now, I don't want to see it being cancelled with a huge cliffhanger.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Most likely replacing Life in Pieces or Angel from Hell. Whatever get cancelled first.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I think it can survive for a 7th season.

    ReplyDelete
  32. OK thanks for the clarification

    ReplyDelete
  33. I'm pretty sure that all of those (except for Cyber, Madam and TOC) are getting 20~24 episodes. Madam will probably have 13+, but -22 because of it's struggle last season (and that early pity renewal). TOC will likely get only 13 while my guess for Cyber is 16 or 18.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I definitely think Season 5 will be the Final Season.

    ReplyDelete
  35. So 2 Broke Girls is starting in the fall?

    ReplyDelete
  36. No, but will replace either Angel from Hell or Life in Pieces.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Again, it should be noted that freshmans can get backorders if they do well enough to warrant so.

15 is actually a nice number for POI, that makes me happy. Poor M&M was finally downgraded to 13 episodes, I don't think it deserves it, but well... 2 Broke Girls still with 22 to air somewhere. Maybe that's the one that replaces Angel from Hell after all and they just do M&M | TOC somewhere low priority later in the spring?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yeah, 15 is a pretty nice number for it.

    ReplyDelete
  39. 15 episodes of POI? Could be worse. But series finale? Hell no.

    ReplyDelete
  40. It's safe to assume that almost anything produced by CBS will get a full season order (22 or so episodes). So the safest bets are Blue Bloods, Elementary, Scorpion, all 3 NCIS's, and Hawaii Five O. Angel from Hell, Limitless, and Life In Pieces will probably be set at 13 since all of the other new shows got 13 to begin with. The Odd Couple being a midseason show, will get 13.

All three Sunday shows however are uncertain. I think TGW will get 22 as well even with those ratings. MS and Cyber are wild cards. Sub par ratings however if CBS wants to push them to syndication, then they'll go 20 or so. IMO, they might get around 17 or so episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  41. 15 for a Final Season is good enough for me. They probably got 2 more episodes for a 2 hour series finale.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I just hope that if it is indeed the final season cbs stops denying it so that they can prepare the season as such

    ReplyDelete
  43. POI 15 Is Not Enough but better then 13

    ReplyDelete
  44. I thinj sunday shows will all get 22, maybe cyber gets 24. Agree on toc

    ReplyDelete
  45. Well, rules survived like this longer. But you are probably right

    ReplyDelete
  46. Rules survived longer like this, who knows

    ReplyDelete
  47. M&M is now down the Rules of Engagement road; considering how stable it is has been for CBS I hope it doesn't end up with the same fate (abruptly cancelled).

I wonder where are they going to air all those 22 episodes of 2 Broke Girl; Mondays and Thursdays are pretty filled, unless something fails.

    ReplyDelete
  48. 15 episodes sounds good for Person of Interest. I'm still expecting this to be the final season, though. Let's just hope CBS actually informs the producers so that the story can be wrapped appropriately.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I think Angel from Hell is the easiest cancel of the season so I think that opens up room for those broke girls. No clue about toc and mm. Maybe they pair them up somewhere late spring?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Not bad for Person of Interest.

Thrilled to see 2 Broke Girls getting a full season so I guess it's the first one to premiere over The Odd Couple and Mike & Molly once one of the new comedies fails. However I'd rather see it at 9pm rather following Mom 9:30 since I think 2BG is still very strong and plugging it at 9:30 would seem like a wasted opportunity to make the comedy block stronger.

But I think a better scenario would be if LIP doesn't make it to the November switch and the comedy lineup would be TBBT/2BG/Mom/AFH and by January TBBT/2BG/Mom/MM. Mom and 2BG are interchangeable but since 2BG skews younger and more male than Mom then I think it makes sense to put it behind TBBT. Mom and MM seem like a great fit anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I've been dreaming about the TBBT/2BG position since 2012. At one point, I started wanting a crossover. Well, at least we are getting the positions.

    ReplyDelete
  52. It will be announced as Final Season later this year. I'm sure of it.

    ReplyDelete
  53. And is Mike & Molly's 13 final? Because if ever Supergirl bombs (that's a big if) then CBS could easily extend it to 22 and have both 2BG and MM back by as early as December.

    ReplyDelete
  54. With Rush Hour premiering midseason (probably January or Feb. 2016) it's unlikely that it gets more than 13 episodes. It's going to be a challenge for them to find a decent timeslot for it.

    ReplyDelete
  55. 15 seems like a good number for POI. Hopefully it airs around January or Feb 2016 and can run without any breaks.

    ReplyDelete
  56. But where? Will be there room for M&M and ToC coming spring?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Me too! I love both shows. I would love to see a Max/Sheldon face off.

I looked at the ratings of Summer 2012 and 2BG got really great repeat ratings following TBBT before 2.5Men took over that slot:

    TBBT/2BG
    June 7 2.2/1.7
    June 14 2.1/1.8
    June 21 2.2/2.1
    June 28 2.0/1.6

No idea why CBS have not revisited this idea since then.

    ReplyDelete
  58. They're seriously going through with Rush Hour?

    ReplyDelete
  59. Person of Interest-15 episodes. Very happy that the show is not doing 22 episodes this season. 15 episodes will give the writers a little more room to tell the story they want than 13.
Mike and Molly-13 episodes really the only other other one of note.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Dam Criminal Minds only 22 ep for Season 11

    ReplyDelete
  61. Oh man. This 15 episodes order sounds like the end of POI. I'm upset.

    ReplyDelete
  62. It is caused by the shooting schedule of Melissa McCarthy She has 3 other films besides TV she is shooting.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Perhaps there is no second cycle ordered for TAR this year?

    ReplyDelete
  64. It is because since then they've always needed 2 Broke Girls to anchor a secondary comedy hour. They didn't have the comedy strenght to afford having an anchor as a bottom of the hour show, especially not one following their biggest comedy. Not only was 2BG needed as an anchor elsewhere but the post Big Bang slot was also needed to groom new stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Maybe a second cycle of TAR is not ordered. That would free up an hour.

    ReplyDelete
  66. So they would air on Fridays? That seems just a bit like a death sentence... which makes sense for ToC, but for M&M?
Unless they pull a Last Man Standing I don't see that working out that well. But who knows? Mayme M&M is steady enough to do it.

CBS' schedule coming midseason is quite hard to predict

    ReplyDelete
  67. Damn, looks like my days are numbered

    ReplyDelete
  68. TBBT- I'm hoping somewhere in that 24 Episodes, Shamy have sex. I mean seriously.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I don't know about that because 2.5 Men was a great Monday anchor but they moved it anyway to Thursday with another anchor leaving Mondays quite vulnerable. They only had an hour of comedy on Thursday but 2 hours on Mondays yet the strongest shows were both on Thursday.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Mike and Molly is old skewing so that wouldn't be a stretch. And if there is any show that has proven it can air in low viewed situations it is this one since CBS aired it last year deep into December when viewing levels are even worse than Fridays. There is also the fact that Mike and Molly probably doesn't have much more time left (if it even makes it past this season) so they may feel that they have little to loose.

In any case, I wasn't suggesting that they would necessarily have to air on Fridays. They can do some rearrangement and move something to Fridays to make room for this block on a weekday. Another possibility, which I think is fairly possible, is that they replace the second cycle of TAR with Person of Interest and they do Mike and Molly | The Odd Couple on Wednesday and Sunday in the winter, Mentalist style.

    ReplyDelete
  71. 15 episodes for POI is better than nothing, but it's strange see Mike & Molly with just 13 episodes :/

    ReplyDelete
  72. 15 episodes for POI. Better than nothing I guess.

15 episodes is still not enough!

    ReplyDelete
  74. I was talking after that. I think when they moved Men to Thursdays was already eying a comedy expansion the year after on Thursday and also as a way to try to strenghten Person of Interest, but at the time it could have probably have been 2 Broke Girls instead of Men just the same. I do think that the end result would have been the same though. Men became significantly weaker in the years that followed, just as 2 Broke Girls did. I think they had roughly the same strenght this year - had they swapped their timeslots, I doubt the situation would have been much different, so I think Mondays would still have the same collapse comedy wise. While I still would have preferred going with 2 Broke Girls to post Big Bang that year because, like you said, it was a new show and had more upside and more of a chance to explode, long term CBS would have probably ended up as is.

    ReplyDelete
  75. The situation now could be the same or it could be better. A full season behind TBBT could have made a big difference. I remember 2BG hit season highs (4.1 at 9pm) following a TBBT repeat (3.7). Instead they used it to prop a 10 year old show.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I think the two extra episodes for POI is for a decent finale..the showrunners probably asked for them.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Rush Hour smells like a flop

    ReplyDelete
  78. Criminal Minds have huge ratings

    ReplyDelete
  79. Probably you are right and for sure they messed up in wasting Big Bang on Millers and TOC. But my main point is that when a show is on such a negative downards trajectory as 2 Broke Girls was, a timeslot upgrade rarely is able to make long term reversion. It had a very big upgrade last year when it spent most of the season after How I Met Your Mother but in the end it came back to its early fall numbers when Mother left... There was no long term boost. Big Bang is bigger than Mother was, sure, but I doubt the effect would hava changed all that much.

    ReplyDelete
  80. A negative trajectory which was a result of not putting it behind TBBT instead of 2.5 Men and other shows that followed. That season I believe 2BG averaged 3.4 while TAAHM got 3.8 following TBBT 5.4. 2BG did well that season despite being rushed to such a huge responsibility but could have been better.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Wish Criminal Minds had more then 22 episodes! but I'm happy we have another season so i'll take it :) Best show ever!

    ReplyDelete
  82. I imagine it is in case both new comedies succeed, then M&M and Odd Couple can timeshare behind 2 Broke Girls.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Person of Interest was the #20th most watched show of last season. That's pretty darned good ratings, too.

    ReplyDelete
  84. CBS doesn't own POI....

    ReplyDelete
  85. Madam Secretary has already been confirmed for 24 a couple of weeks ago.

    ReplyDelete
  86. MS has been confirmed for 24 episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I thought POI was a big hit for CBS, consistently in the Top 20 of the Nielsens. They did the same thing to Unforgettable. Maybe the producers of this show should shop it around to networks starving for ratings. Like NBC.

    ReplyDelete
  88. That's a good point.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Mike and Molly at 13 partly solves a scheduling issue though not completely. 2 Broke Girls with 22 eps will likely take over a Thursday spot.

Person if Interest at 15 seems decent. Better than 13, I would say.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Only? Last season got 23. It's getting to be an expensive show now, so be glad it's still getting a full season.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I think its only 13 because of the high budget and the effects....

    ReplyDelete
  92. Oh I don't remember. But not sure where is the time for that. I hope they aren't airing the dramas into event season more than those two random 2 episodes they like to air every January. Maybe they are airing them deeper into December this year but even then, I am not sure. CSI is already taking up one extra Sunday this year and last Sunday they actually started them in pre-premiere week.

    ReplyDelete
  93. If it means we don't have to endure filler episodes like "Karma" or "Last Call" and we can then focus on making the final 15 be 100% mythology and - most important - bring back Shaw for all of them....well, I'll still be annoyed, but less so.

    ReplyDelete
  94. It was in a Daily Newsreel: http://www.spoilertv.com/2015/05/the-spoilertv-daily-newsreel-23rd-may.html. Since you commented in that thread, I assume you read it ;)

Anyway, I have no idea about the schedule. Those January episodes were really random and kind of unnecessary. The show (and maybe the enitre Sunday line-up) is probably better off being split in two halve with one long hiatus in between. I'm sure CBS will find a way for 24 episodes of MS. Its finale aired a week early this year (May 3) so maybe they can do the finale a week or two later. And doing one or two in December seems fine to me.

I just hope CBS won't mess up their schedule like they did this season.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Ahah, I remember now, I had forgotten about it. So many news about the new season, it's hard to keep track! Thanks.

The year before, CBS also randomly aired two episode of The Good Wife and The Mentalist on the first two weeks of January. They seem decided to do it for some weird reason. I would much rather have clean split season as well.

I think they will find a way, but they are kind of hard-pressed for time. They have 11 weeks to air the second halves, so that means they need to do 11 episodes in the fall as well if they keep the 2 in the winter. That would mean finishing the first half of the season December the 12th.

    ReplyDelete
  96. 15 episodes for person of interest! So cool! No filler and a possible two hour finale. in a perfect world they deserve two more season but, well, i do apreciate the effort, so happy!

    ReplyDelete
  97. Matthew Chapman18 June 2015 at 22:51

On the back of 2 Broke Girls getting 22 episodes, i'm calling it now that Angel From Hell will be canned around Christmas with 2 Broke Girls premiering the first week of January (January 7th)

    ReplyDelete
  98. That's my predicton too.

    ReplyDelete
  99. 22 of CM? That still seems like a pretty long, drawn-out season.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Why wouldn't or shouldn't they give a show that's done well for their network for 11 years a 22-episode order?

    ReplyDelete
  101. NiggaWithoutAttitude18 June 2015 at 23:30

I hope not, I thought at the end of season 2, 3 and 4 that they couldn't go any further but they have so far.

    ReplyDelete
  102. NiggaWithoutAttitude18 June 2015 at 23:32

If a show is on season 11, then there's a reason for it. Not to mention that the spinoff is coming, too. The show is a hell of a lot more popular, as much as I love them both - and one's more procedural than the other. PoI will most likely be in its last season.

    ReplyDelete
  103. I had heard something about the network wanting to trim the show's budget some time back, so I think your assumption is spot on.
But yeah, other seasons have had 22 episodes and made it work, and season 3 only had 20 (though I believe that was around the time of the writer's strike, which might've factored in there), and that's one of my favorite seasons ever, so...
My only concern about the episode order is that I wonder if that means we'll have more weird gaps in between new episodes again like we did during the second half of last season-one new episode, then three weeks' break, then two new episodes, then another stretch of weeks of repeats or whatever. That'd be kind of annoying. But then again, considering how many new shows are being added to the network this year, and how many of them are going to premiere at midseason, though, I can see the network using those breaks in between new episodes to ease them into the schedule, depending on what night they put them on TV.

    ReplyDelete
  104. I would be very surprised if this show ever went under the 20 episode mark in its run. It'd be an interesting experiment, but with the stalwart shows like this or "NCIS" or whatnot, I think the network will always just keep on with the full season episode orders until the day the shows wrap up their run altogether.

    ReplyDelete
  105. POI 15 episodes...better than 13..lol

    ReplyDelete
  106. Criminal Minds is huge in syndication. Plus PoI is owned by Warner Brothers while Criminal Minds is owned by CBS. So yeah, it's a great business decision by CBS.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Even if it's not 100% mythology driven, but character driven, I'll be satisfied. I don't mind a filler episode or two, because they usually add interesting layers to the themes of the bigger arcs, but with that being said, I still felt like certain aspects of last season were dragged out too long and/or I would of enjoyed some more back story on certain characters.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Kristi Hungerford19 June 2015 at 00:20

Why moke and molly only 13 pleasee dont say its dyin

    ReplyDelete
  109. Figured it'd be 13 for Supergirl, but hopefully it gets a back 9

    ReplyDelete
  110. Pleased that POI has been increased to 15, but still feel that it is one of the best shows on network television. It is too bad it isn't a full season.

    ReplyDelete
  111. "If your show is not listed then we don't know."
Thanks for the note! Direct and to the point!!! :D

Surprised M&M only got 13... either Melissa asked for less because of her movies, or the show is coming to an end...

And personally I doubt Rush Hour will make it through the full 13 to be honest...

    ReplyDelete
  112. Nothing surprising there. I am glad Person of Interest got two more episodes

    ReplyDelete
  113. Thanks for the clarification! :)
I must say that is a decently sized order for them. They're most likely not going go on break in December/February again this year.

    ReplyDelete
  114. No The Good Wife?

    ReplyDelete
  115. What's even more surprising is that they shortened it now even though there's still supposedly a 12th season as well. And who knows if that'll be the last, and they'll need to shorten that one even more.

    ReplyDelete
  116. 15 for POI?

    ReplyDelete
  117. Nineteenth.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Haha i think when people said 13 is not enough they wanted at least 9 more episodes...when it comes to this show #NothingIsEverEnough...That's their inch but we're still looking for the mile but I'll take anything at this point - it's just honestly sad that it came down to this for such an awesome show with such an amazing cast...Amazing soundtrack, writing, overall concept, guest stars, the list just could go on...I hate the fact that this show followed in the footsteps of another favorite show of mine: Fringe. Going back the last season just does feel rushed so I'm sorta going into this season knowing things are going to be moving fast if this is the last hoorah. I just really hope that this whole thing won't ruin the brilliant endgame they envisioned all along to do this series justice as a whole. They're brilliant writers and if anyone could work under the pressure I'd have to believe it would be them.

    ReplyDelete
  119. I wish people would be more up in arms about PoI's episode count.

We should be angry that PoI only got 15 episodes. Not accepting of this and that. This is CBS's way of saying 'fuck you' to not just the audience but to the creators/writers of this show. They cannot handle PoI being the #2 CBS show at 10 PM so what do they do? They shove it off to midseason with a reduced order while bringing back CSI Cyber, Hawaii Five-O...shows that should have been cancelled due to their dismal ratings.

Good luck to CBS, where they will hinge their season on basically Supergirl since the rest of their lineup on Mon-Thu is expected to decline again.

15 for POI and everyone seems to think it points more to it being the last season. Whatever happened to what's left in Pandora's Box? :/

    ReplyDelete
  121. Gaia Di Lorenzo19 June 2015 at 07:46

    all good.

    ReplyDelete
  122. If a CBS show get under 20 episodes it usually signals the end of the show (Numbers, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, CSI), so I can't see CM getting fewer than 20 episodes. I don't think it's done just yet. I think it will get to at least 12 seasons, maybe a few more.

    ReplyDelete
  123. They are just thinking about the money like the other networks. The 15 episode order plus not having anounced a final season yet is actually a good sign in my opinion.

They could have given it a 6 episode final season and say go to hell.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Good point. Though, they've done the 22 episode thing before, in the early seasons, so it's not that unusual they're doing 22 episodes this time around. But I can see why it is a bit odd, considering they had been doing 24 for a long time and then 23 last year, and now 22.
I wonder about the reported 12th season, too. I don't know if I see them shortening that one even more than this one, but I do wonder about it being their last one, or using that as a sign they might be working on wrapping the show up in another couple years. On one hand, I can't imagine they're looking at the end anytime soon considering their planned spin-off-it'd be odd if the parent show decided to end things as the spin-off, if it's successful, is going into only its second od third season. I'd imagine they'd want the two to run alongside each other.
But on the other hand, if the spin-off isn't successful, and if the show continues to get more and more expensive to produce...who knows?

  125. How is it suppose to air all 22 episodes without starting in the fall?

    ReplyDelete
  126. While one can never watch enough of Person of Interest, I hope this 2 episode increase isn't coming because Season 5 is the final season. Would they seriously cancel Game of Thrones after an 8-episode Season 6? Nope. That's how I feel about PoI!

    ReplyDelete
  127. "Criminal Minds" is #11, and improved ratings wise over last season.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Same order as last season - most likely it'll get the first vacant slot when a Sitcom fails.\

The 13 episodes for M&M is odd, but now that they also have 2BG as a "bench Warmer", it seems M&M is getting the same thing "Rules of Engagement" did - 13 for a mid season. Although nothing says CBS couldn't order a few episodes on the back end if needed.

    ReplyDelete
  129. The 13 episodes for the new shows is standard, and POI's 15 gives it room to do a story arc and wrap it all up if needed.

    ReplyDelete
  130. I wonder how many seasons she's got left on her M&M contract and if there is an option. 13 a season is a win-win for CBS and WBTV - hit tv series with the biggest motion picture female comedian today. (Yeh, takes some getting used to, doesn't it.) At this point, additional episodes are Gravy for the Syndication package.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Well, she's contractually committed and the show is still a hit for CBS and in Syndication. I wonder if she's got a 6 year (1+5) or a 7 year (1+6) contract, either way I wonder how long the network will keep the show.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Mike and Molly started it's season 5 in December and finished by late May. If one of the new comedies fail, they can do the same thing and depending on when they fail, 2 Broke can end its season by late May or first week of June. If TAR don't get two cycles, then they can ship one drama to Friday at 8 and put 2 Broke Girls and TOC/MM in the slot. For example:

    Monday:
    Supergirl/Scorpion
    (one of them fails)
    2BG/MM/Scorpion or
    2BG/MM/Supergirl or
    Supergirl/2BG/MM or
    Scorpion/2BG/MM

    Friday:
    TAR/H5-0/BB
    (TAR gets one cycle)
    Supergirl/H50/BB or
    Scorpion/H50/BB

Not saying that either Supergirl or Scorpion are going to fail, just used them as examples.

  133. We want Person of Interest.

    ReplyDelete
  134. I'm not talking about criminal minds. POO was 19th.

    ReplyDelete
  135. I was referring to the original poster's remark, and follow up, not yours.

    ReplyDelete
  136. It's all part of TV Fanatics - Fans can't be greatful their "on-the-bubble" show (not owned by the network's studio arm) got a renewal at all - they want to complain about ONLY getting 15 episodes! Most mid-seasons only get 13.

    ReplyDelete
  137. These days, it seems the networks want to keep 22 as the average, not what it used to be 24, or before that 26.

    ReplyDelete
  138. POI is 13 not 15.

    ReplyDelete
  139. This day just keeps getting better.Sucks for the fans.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Stop screwing with us! First POI is renewed, then short season order, then we reconciled with that, ok 15 episodes, now 13...I don't want to judge prematurely, but if this holds, there really should be a Season 6, somewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  141. In fairness to Katt, the revised number is 13, this article reported 15 a few days ago.

    ReplyDelete
  142. F*CK CBS!!!! I find myself saying that quite a lot nowadays.

    ReplyDelete
  143. I just want to know how they're gonna get 22 episodes of 2 Broke Girls on the schedule. Air it six times a day 8-11 for four days? Lol

    ReplyDelete
  144. I hate CBS. Their shows suck ass. POI is the only amazing show they have.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Eat shit, CBS! POI deserves better!

    ReplyDelete
  146. 13 is enough for syndication, that's why

    ReplyDelete
  147. It has already reached syndication.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Damn, Person of Interest just got sliced by two. I wonder what caused the discrepancy?

    ReplyDelete
  149. I'd enjoys that.

  150. Christopher DeBono23 June 2015 at 00:19

It'll probably be like New Girl's plan, scheduling wise.

It'll take over from either Angel From Hell or Life In Pieces, whichever doesn't get a back 9. Then air an uninterrupted run starting after Christmas.

If AFH or LIP do bad enough, then they'll just pull one of them from the schedule earlier and start 2BG a couple of months early.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Christopher DeBono23 June 2015 at 00:20

I think he means getting it over 100 episodes to make the package better.

    ReplyDelete
  152. But what if CBS' new comedies actually work against their own thought? Surely they wouldn't cancel a show that is getting a 2.0...its also unbelievable how their standards for comedy ratings are like double those for dramas. I would NOT want to be behind a Warner Bros-produced CBS comedy right now.

So I'm hoping no news is good news in the case of the good wife and madam secretary!

    ReplyDelete
  154. Christopher DeBono23 June 2015 at 00:33

    Mmm, true. Good point.

I assume if that happens then they'll rush a drama to finish early. Similar to how they rushed Scorpion to finish early so they could move Stalker and open space for CSI Cyber. Then double up on 2BG episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  155. I've learned one thing on this thread. Do not piss off a POI fan.
I'm sorry guys for the short order, but y'all have me in tears.

    ReplyDelete
  156. sad for POI's updated order :((

    ReplyDelete
  157. Seems like negotiating is still going on for POI. Might want to wait a bit longer to see if this last. If it stays 13, it fulfills the syndication contract because that will put it past 100 episodes so CBS wouldn't have to order more.

    ReplyDelete
  158. These days 80 episodes is good for syndication. It just needs a proper ending. This is what they are doing now with POI. Finishing its story so they can sell it. Unfortunately CBS doesn't really bother since they won't see any of that money. We can be glad that we get those 13 episodes. I think CBS initially wanted to cancel it after season 4.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Which would be crazy considering they renewed Elementary, The Good Wife, NCIS:LA, CSI:Cyber, Madam Secretary, Blue Bloods, and Hawaii 5-0.

    ReplyDelete
  160. So burn off a show to make room to burn off another show? Sadly its the best option CBS has unless they suck it up and figure out that their Sunday lineup has no potential.

    ReplyDelete
  161. I think it was really close to being cancelled. I am sure season 5 will be the Final Season .

    ReplyDelete
  162. All of those shows are in-house.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Which is exactly why outside production companies just shouldn't bother pitching to CBS. Sure, priorities to your own studio are understandable, but I think putting POI's ratings and syndication potential on the same level of Sundays is outrageous. Don't watch and am not interested in watching any CBS shows, so I think I can say that unbiasedly.

    ReplyDelete
  164. I think it would be smart if outside production companies especially Warner Bros just avoid CBS at all costs.

    ReplyDelete
  165. I agree. For people that enjoyed the story, they deserve a proper ending and this is the best way as has been done in the past. I think they could have easily wrapped the story in S4 however. There were plenty of opportunities, especially with the uncertainty of being renewed or not. The choice for a cliffhanger ending could have easily backfired on the. Now the finish the story, the procedural numbers will have to be removed which is a shame because as much as the showrunners hate to admit it, that was the format that many people including myself first saw when watching the show. I'm not sure if they will be able to proceed with John as Riley despite the danger still out there. Really they are doing that for the Iris subplot but the question is do they have the time? I have doubts that things won't be sloppy in one way or another because the shortened season caught everyone off guard.

    ReplyDelete
  166. As far as I know POI is the only show CBS doesn't own. The other shows are ready for syndication except for CSI:Cyber and Madame Secretary. And they will forever get money out of them although they are low rated. With POI they only get money through advertisers. Advertisers only pay if ratings are high which they are not unfortunately.

    ReplyDelete
  167. They don't own 2Broke Girls or Mom as well.

    ReplyDelete
  168. I have faith with the people at POI. I think the final season is going to be amazing.

    ReplyDelete
  169. CBS is already avoiding Warner Bros with their lack of fair share in The CW and unwillingness to give WB shows treatment nearly as well as they give their own.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Doesn't Netflix deal require an ending or something?

    ReplyDelete
  171. It's just so hard for showrunners I guess. You can't write a season with the assumption that you're being cancelled if you're not told otherwise before. Networks do not cancel a show in the middle of a season or end it with a cliffhanger these days. Everyone was very confident that POI was getting renewed. The showrunners have sais so multiple times. So I guess the short season renewal was always a sure thing even if CBS would have wanted it otherwise.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Yeah I forgot to mention that. Of any writers out there right now I trust them the most to make the best out 13 episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  173. POI already has a Netflix deal. And it's already available in other countries.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Thanks for the info.

    ReplyDelete
  175. I find it strange for the confidence, especially when the numbers were concern. As much as people hate hearing it or try to ignore it, those numbers for the final four episodes didn't help with Terra Incognita doing the best with just over 9 million. The finale few episodes should be where a showrunner puts it on the line and go all out. It was a surprising that so few people tuned in to the finale. If Samaritian beat the team at every chance in S4 and had them retreating again, much like at the end of S3, what is going to be the big catalyst that either has to be introduced or reintroduced and elaborated at length because of the complexity of the AI plot?

    ReplyDelete
  176. I guess Cinco de Mayo had a lot to do with the ratings downfall. Losing that much viewers for a finale is very unusual.

I guess the big story in season 5 will be to build up the machine again. Maybe it's even going to be survival without the help of the machine. Because they are all screwed without the machine. Plageman and Nolan said they would find a way to keep the numbers flowing in although the machine just lives in a briefcase right now.

    ReplyDelete
  177. Baffled by that. Really they should focus on the story and how the team is going to stop Samaritian. If they need the Machine to help okay, but can they really put filler episodes at this point. I want to think that each episode could be steps to a larger plan that might work. Also the rebuilding of the Machine I doubt will be an easy task with the limited resources they have. I mean is it safe to wonder how well the Machine will actually work in the state it's in? Then again, why the need for large warehouses if it can just run fine as is. I guess I'm still wondering of it's exact movements after it disappeared in God Mode. The Machine had been broken off into pieces so how much horsepower will it have now I guess it what I'm trying to figure out.

    ReplyDelete
  178. I meant they usually require a finalization. It usually happens with CW shows pick up.

    ReplyDelete
  179. I don't know if stoping Samaritan is the shows endgame. I highly doubt it right now, They don't have a choice but to at least try to rebuild it. Because, honestly, what else woud they do all day LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  180. Good pointXD They don't have real jobs, well except John which still cracks me up that he's a cop for all the trouble he causes.

    ReplyDelete
  181. All we know is there are still too many functional kneecaps out there and the writers find crazy ways to tell the story. I never would have guessed the machine in the power grid and the only way to save it would be to "download" into a briefcase that previously had a Faberge egg in it.

    ReplyDelete
  182. Yeah. I didn't watch S4 but I did look up info of the episodes. That briefcase was foreshadowed in Search and Destroy but I guess being bulletproof was useful for all that gunfire the team was going to run into.

    ReplyDelete
  183. Oh no you haven't watched yet. Then go ahead :D

    ReplyDelete
  184. Really, I've watched two Guilty and Terra Incognita. I have quite the reasons for not watching since after 4C. Still though, seeing John as a cop is so freaking tempting. In all seriousness, what do you speculate could be the endgame? Maybe the public becoming more aware of how much they are being watched.

    ReplyDelete
  185. I feel bad because I keep expecting John to die at some point. Just me and my Careese mind at work again. I do hope that Finch and him make it despite the showrunners saying everyone will die. The only team death has been Carter so far whereas Shaw has been brainwashed I guess. Who knows how that is going to come into play, especially with Shaw absent from the finale altogether.

Good luck fitting 22 2 Broke Girls episodes, CBS, when they'll have to wait until midseason to pull any of their thursday freshman shows and will have basketball preemptionons.

POI and Mike and Molly both became second tier shows, the first one is done after the season, CBS is shutting WB's pipeline.

    ReplyDelete
  190. Well CBS doesn't give a damn about their shows. First CSI, now POI
