Scene Of The Week - April 5, 2015 - POLL

A weekly feature in which we're trying to find the most compelling, best acted, written, directed and just generally great, memorable scenes that we've seen in past seven days on TV.

12 MONKEYS, "Paradox", April 3, 2015, Actors: Aaron Stanford and more
The Scenes: Cole creates a paradoxical temporal effect & Cole's dad is killed
Darth Locke:
Cole creates a paradoxical temporal effect to cause a large blast of energy.
Bradley Adams: Cole's dad is killed as young Cole watches.

ARROW, "Public Enemy", April 1, 2015, Actors: Colton Haynes, Stephen Amell and more, The Scenes: Roy reveals himself as the Arrow to the SCPD & Felicity and her mom talk
Justyna K:
Back on track? Fingers crossed! The last few episodes weren't the show's best if you ask me, so this pretty great episode made me feel hopeful about the rest of the season. Even though it's not easy to see Lance so completely lost in his anger, it gave us a chance for Roy to step up and his decision to save Oliver made quite an impression for sure. The bond between the two is something the show could definitely explore more and I can't wait to see where we're going from here. The things will never be the same after this hour and all these changes are getting unbelievably powerful and lasting. Kudos! Operation "Save Roy", here we go.
Daniel van der Veer: Arrow is finally back on track with one of the season's best episodes! One of the most powerful scenes is the end scene, where, after a heated talk between Oliver and Quentin, Roy comes out and reveals himself as the Arrow. This is a really brave thing for him to do and obviously will cause a lot fo conflict within team Arrow. I can't wait to see where this goes.
Diana Mack: Felicity and her mom talk; Ray told her she loves her, but she didn't reply. Her mom understands she's in love with Oliver instead. Very sweet scene, I liked that daughter/mom moment.

BATTLE CREEK, "Old Flames", March 29, 2015, Actors: Dean Winters, Aubrey Dollar and more, The Scene: Russ wants to tell Holly how he feels
Laura Markus:
Russ wants to tell Holly how he feels but she goes on a date with someone else. Grab the tissues, everyone! Now, I'm a much bigger fan of the dynamic between Milt and Russ; it intrigues me a lot more and I definitely see the chemistry there. But Russ has been eyeing Holly since the pilot. He was finally going to tell her how he feels when he turns around while sitting at his desk to see her leaving the station with the guy from the coffee shop. Russ turns back around, and we can just tell he's emotionally drained. Milt is looking through the door and he looks so distraught. Despite the fact that they want us to think that Russ and Milt just can't be friends, I completely felt like Milt was feeling so horribly for Russ in that moment. I really hope this show doesn't get cancelled soon. The writing has been on point, and the acting superb.

BETTER CALL SAUL, "Pimento", March 30, 2015, Actors: Bob Odenkirk, Michael McKean, The Scene: Jimmy confronts Chuck about his betrayal
Sandi:
You knew that was what the phone call was about all through the meeting at HHM. Chuck's snobbish disdain for his brother is so obvious at times it's a wonder how Jimmy couldn't see it before now. It was a fantastic scene, can't wait to see what happens in the finale now! Also picked by Darth Locke
Brandon Rowe: Great scene and a nice ending to a fantastic episode.

CASTLE, "Habeas Corpse", March 30, 2015, Actors: Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic
The Scene: Castle and Beckett dance and sing "Under my Skin" (picked by Diana Mack)

COUGAR TOWN, "Mary Jane's Last Dance", March 31, 2015, Actors: Courteney Cox, Christa Miller and more, The Scene: The final shot
Klutzy girl:
The final shot with the group all together and happy was the perfect end to the series. I wasn't a huge fan of this season but I love the show and am definitely going to miss it.

DIG, "Emma Wilson's Father", April 2, 2015, Actors: Jason Isaacs and more, The Scene: "Rainbow Connection" Montage
Darth Locke:
This show has been off to rocky start, but I think this episode has improved greatly in trying to balance it's conspiracy mythology, crime drama, and thriller aspects. I always like surreal and/or other worldly experiences, especially when they hit home for main characters.

ELEMENTARY, "The View From Olympus", April 2, 2015, Actors: Jonny Lee Miller and more
The Scene: Sherlock explains to Agatha why he doesn't want to procreate
Jimmy Ryan:
This scene was brilliant in every aspect, from the script to the acting to the meaning. It had humor woven in too. One of Elementary's finest scenes in its history.

FOREVER, "Punk is Dead", March 31, 2015, Actors: Ioan Gruffudd, Alana de la Garza and more, The Scene: The crew goes to a karaoke bar
Tonya Papanikolas:
What a fun scene. I loved the music and seeing them all hang out together after work, laughing and having a great time. Jo was so happy with Isaac. We've never seen her like that before. And then suddenly Henry is looking at her like he's smitten with her! I really wasn't expecting that. But it was a fun surprise. As the voiceover mentions how you don't want to be stuck in the past and overlook the present, the intention is clear: Jo is the present for Henry. And he is finally realizing what is right in front of him. The scene was a perfect next step and left me eager for more!

JUSTIFIED, "Fugitive Number One", March 31, 2015, Actors: Jere Burns, Mary Steenburgen, Jonathan Kowalsky, The Scene: Mikey and Katherine's death
Max Conte:
When Katherine is about to kill Duffy, Mikey has a change of heart and tries to stop her... he gets shot multiple times, but not before choking Katherine to death. Duffy is the only one to come out alive in this brutal, sad and darkly funny scene.

MARVEL'S AGENTS OF SHIELD, "One Door Closes", March 31, 2015, Actors: Chloe Bennet, Adrianne Palicki, Elizabeth Henstridge and more, The Scenes: Skye protects herself with her powers & Simmons takes down Bobbi
Justyna K:
That was a brilliant hour! I couldn't decide which scene to choose but in the end, I went with Skye fighting back with her powers. It was such an impressive shot! For the first time since her change, Skye seems to be making first step towards accepting it. Her instincts told her what to do and for a moment she was in control. I'm very interested to see her and other Inhumans interact together, Gordon seems to be the right person to help her embrace her powers at the moment. Also, I was happy to see Bobbi looking out for Skye, after the last couple of episodes, it's a relief to have the confirmation she and Mack do care about their friends even though they're not all on the same side. Kudos to cast & crew for the fantastic episode!
Klutzy girl: Skye finally displays the full force of her powers after she's threatened. This is what I've been waiting for and they are awesome, and I can't wait to see what else she does in the future.
Bradley Adams: Simmons takes down Bobbi.

NASHVILLE, "I Can't Keep Away From You", April 1, 2015, Actors: Hayden Panettiere, Jonathan Jackson, The Scene: Avery sings a song to Juliette and the baby
Klutzy girl:
I can't wait to see what these two are like as parents.

ONCE UPON A TIME, "Best Laid Plans", March 29, 2015, Actors: Jennifer Morrison, Eion Bailey, The Scene: August tells Emma about many authors recording stories over time
Nirat Anop:
August tells Emma that there's been many authors recording stories over time. This scene coupled with the poignant dialogue was brilliant, "From the man who watched shadows dance across cave walls and developed an entire philosophy, to playwrights who tell tales of poetry, to a man named Walt." The fact that they referenced Walt, as in Walt Disney was such a honorable moment, as he was the childhood author of many childrens dreams including mine. This scene to me was the best and most touching. The way August enunciated some of the words was truly storytelling at its best.

OUTLANDER, "The Reckoning", April 4, 2015, Actors: Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, The Scene: Jamie and Claire make up
Nirat Anop:
Jamie reassures Claire that he will never lay a hand on her again and then they make up. This scene was so powerful, even though he was raised in a particular way he was willing to change for Claire, a true testament to the love he feels for her. Following this, the most intimate and personal reconciliation I've ever seen on TV, something this show does an exceptional job at.

POLDARK, "Episode 4", March 29, 2015, Actors: Eleanor Tomlinson, Ruby Bentall, The Scene: Verity and Demelza become friends
Sandi:
I love these two characters - as do a majority of the fans it seems - so them becoming friends was something I was looking forward to seeing. Both of them have a special relationship with Ross, understanding him in a way that many others fail to, so it's not surprising that they connected so easily once they started to get to know each other. They both also desperately needed a best friend to unburden themselves to about their own concerns, and their frank confessions to each other have given them a strong bond that I hope will last.

REVENGE, "Clarity", March 29, 2015, Actors: Emily VanCamp and more, The Scene: Emily reveals everyone the truth
Justyna K:
I may not be regularly watching the show at times but scenes like this one are always worth coming back to. The single most important truth of the show is now revealed and everyone knows Emily is actually Amanda Clarke. Of course, we can imagine there's a long list of the consequences waiting for our main heroine after her decision but at least for now she's finally free of the lies and it seems like a giant weight has been taken off her shoulders. Even though it might be the most dangerous thing she's done yet, it was nice to see a little support for (now finally) Amanda from Jack and her father (who seemed really proud of his daughter in the scene). Now, that's a game changer. And I'm genuinely excited to see what's next. Also, last but not least, it was another brilliant performance by Emily VanCamp, kudos!

SHAMELESS, "Drugs Actually", March 29, 2015, Actors: Cameron Monaghan, Chloe Webb, The Scene: Monica visits Ian
Nirat Anop:
Cameron Monaghan's performance during this scene was undeniably one of this best during the season. The shear sadness in his eyes to the way he moved his head as Monica talked to him was truly moving. "You should never apologise for being you", this was probably the only time Monica has ever said anything good.

THE AMERICANS, "Stingers", April 1, 2015, Actors: Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys, Holly Taylor, The Scene: Phillip and Elizabeth tell Paige the truth
Tonya Papanikolas:
It was great seeing this all finally come to a head in a wonderful scene. I love how perceptive and intuitive Paige is, demanding to know what was going on. When they finally tell her, though, it's a lot for her to take in. I liked how they left her reaction kind of ambiguous. She's mad and hurt about being lied to, but what is she going to do with this information? I can't wait to see what happens next. I also loved how we didn't just see the conversation, but also got to watch all of their stunned reactions afterward. The scene was written and performed beautifully.
Brandon Rowe: All the tension in this scene made this episode my favorite episode of the season so far. Also picked by DarkUFO

THE BLACKLIST, "Vanessa Cruz", April 2, 2015, Actors: Megan Boone, Ryan Eggold, The Scene: Liz tells Tom goodbye
Tonya Papanikolas:
I loved this scene. It was nice to see them bonding and each reaching out to one another at some point in the conversation. Tom first had trouble letting her go, wanting more of a connection with her and following her out of the car. Then it was interesting to see Liz let down her defenses to talk to him sincerely about what they had together. I love that she acknowledged much of their relationship was real - not posing a question to him, but just stating it as fact. She didn't have to ask him; she knew the truth. His sweet words showed how much he cared. So did her kiss. For a second she gave into her heart instead of her head.

THE NIGHT SHIFT, "Need to Know", March 30, 2015, Actors: Eoin Macken, Jill Flint, The Scene: Jordan tells TC she is pregnant
Jimmy Ryan:
After holding off all episode to spill the big news, TC was sitting at his house, where the TV set used to be but had been stolen by a relative he'd helped out earlier. Jordan walked in and sat down beside her, and told TC the news. How TC was going to react was always the big question, but he was surprisingly calm and thrilled at the same time.

THE WALKING DEAD, "Conquer", March 29, 2015, Actors: Andrew Lincoln and more
The Scene: Deanna calls out to Rick to "Do It" and Rick kills Pete (picked by DarkUFO)
