This table shows the early overnight ratings. These ratings are normally adjusted later in the day when all the ratings have been consolidated to take into account any local preemptions and/or overruns. You can find all the final adjusted numbers in our Ratings Database. (See the About section below for details about ratings)

Early Ratings Analysis

The analysis below is based on the early household numbers and are NOT the same as the numbers that will be posted in the above table later. (See the About section below)

About the Daily Ratings

Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.

The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).

Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.

Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above (We also where possible now post the 18-34 and 25-54 Demo Numbers).

Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below). Friday's Final Adjusted Ratings are normally available on the following Monday.

  1. Good for a H50 repeat wow! Well it is one of the best episodes they did the Pearl Harbour episode :D

And Glee just can't get good numbers

    ReplyDelete
  2. Wow at Dixie. The CW really should renew it even if it is for summer. Also, those are insane repeat numbers for the ABC comedies and the CBS procedurals.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Good numbers for HoD especially for a friday.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Woah Dixie its doing better and that too on a Friday! The messengers has hope!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Good for HoD!!

    ReplyDelete
  6. Can HoD be renewed or it's dead despite good numbers for a Friday ?

    ReplyDelete
  7. A lot of people claim it is dead but I disagree. I think it has a fair shot.

    ReplyDelete
  8. It's dead most probably.

    ReplyDelete
  9. What would be the point of denying it is the final season if it couldn't be renewed in case it pulled good numbers (as it is doing)?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Well deserved Dixies! I hope this HoD trend continues. The show is having a great 4th season, last nights episode is one of the best, probably since season 2 or even 1.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Looks like HoD is trying to make a case for renewal.

    ReplyDelete
  12. CW should pair HOD & BatB (S4) Summer 2016. Even with the supposed end from cast etc. With a pared down cast and a time jump, it could still work.

    ReplyDelete
  13. And Shark Tank is the #1 show despite being a repeat. A real beast.

    ReplyDelete
  14. It's hard to say.CW has to cancel some shows to make room fit new ones and they renewed so many shows already but since CW wants more original year round programming and that some of its already renewed shows will have shorter episodes orders it's possible for a renewal.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Also, very good for Glee to be holding steady at that 0.7 and congratulations at hart of Dixie for that 0.5.
    Really well done.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Even with repeats ABC did amazing

    ReplyDelete
  17. It's numbers were never great to begin with,so that's why they probably didn't bother mentioning it beforehand. Now,at least they can maintain their niche audience in hope of a summer renewal, otherwise they would've bailed too by now if this was confirmed to be a final season IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Constantine's back at the 3.5M it was last got with Danse Vaudou (prior to the No back 9 announcement) but only jumped back to 0.9 again.....

    ReplyDelete
  19. Think the only possible issue is Wilson Bethel starring on the Astronaut Wives.
If the show pulls 0,5s till the end and maybe even an 0,6 it can come back for another season.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Yeah Hart of Dixie

    ReplyDelete
  21. 0.6 for HoD is very unlikely.

    ReplyDelete
  22. In other news, it is sad that Grimm didn't have any spike from decreased competition.

    ReplyDelete
  23. That will only matter if both AW & HoD both get renewed. They filmed at different times and AW airs in summer so it wasn't a problem!perhaps if both shows get renewed they could do it again. & both get short episodes order.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I know but still, a fan can hope. But if it keeps pulling 0,5 from this point it could get renewed.

    ReplyDelete
  26. they may try to push for that magic no

    ReplyDelete
  27. not bad for Cristela encore and HoD

    ReplyDelete
  28. I know half hours don't count that much but yeah to Hart of Dixie for keeping that 0.5

    ReplyDelete
  29. Do not tell me Hart of Dixie just did the same demo as The 100...

    ReplyDelete
  30. Maybe, but I doubt anyone epcted it to do 0.5s after the horrible spring ratings -03s.I think Viewrs maybe coming back now that Zade are back together

    ReplyDelete
  31. Can everybody in the US watch the CW channel because it makes no sense that LMS is watched by almost 5 times as many people as HOD. I like LMS but it is a far inferior show.

    ReplyDelete
  32. And on a Friday too.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Zade was always endgame since season 2,i don't know why anyone even doubted that!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I do believe the CW has a distribution almost identical to the four other networks.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Well, there are extenuating factors. The 100 was going against more competition than Hart of Dixie.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I know but I know a lot of fans were upset about Wade cheating/Zade breajpkup in season two and then hated Joel in season three so they stopped watching,

    ReplyDelete
  37. But the issue is HoD's renewal can't wait for AW to air. Especially if HoD will be moved to be an Summer show.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Goddamn EMPIRE and Modern Family...

    ReplyDelete
  39. Hart at Jane the Virgin levels despite being left for dead on Fridays and the latter getting more than its fair share of promotion/buzz/network support. Interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  40. And Hart of Dixie is on a night with lower viewing levels.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Modern Family was a repeat. Regardless it went against Empire, Criminal Minds and SVU.
That alone is around 6.7 in the demo.

    ReplyDelete
  42. does any body think cw renewed all shows to get shows syndicated before the tribunal????

    ReplyDelete
  43. That's really high for HoD, highest rating since season 2 I believe. If it keeps it, it will be renewed, even if it is for summer

    ReplyDelete
  44. It's up against a show that gets 4.4!

    ReplyDelete
  45. People ran head over heels when Zoe dated Joel, even though I like him and the character overall.
Fridays are always tricky and next week it could be an 0,3. You never now

    ReplyDelete
  46. Anyone know why Grimm has been low this seaon?

    ReplyDelete
  47. And the 100 went against a combined drama of 7.7.

    Both shows performed really well.

    ReplyDelete
  48. It got an 0.5 last Jan

    ReplyDelete
  49. I never considered that pair to last for long!Come on-joel and wade, there's no comparison. The guy never had any chance to begin with!

    ReplyDelete
  50. I agree. It wouldn't be right to cancel Hart of Dixie which is capable of garnering a .5 demo on Friday night but keep Reign which only can muster a .4 demo on Thursday night after The Vampire Diaries.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Reign has also gotten three 0.5s and VD ratings aren't that great anymore

    ReplyDelete
  52. I have no idea but I imagine it's more of a visual shock. Grimm isn't down all that much y2y. The numbers just went from mid 1's to low 1's, hence, why we find it low. I think.

    ReplyDelete
  53. OMG Dixie got a 9.5!!??Awesome!!!It tied Jane & The 100 on Fri without the big leadin.I hope Czw renews it.Glee steady as a rock.

    ReplyDelete
  54. People didn't like Nick losing his powers and trubel character has also gotten mixed reviews from fans.

    ReplyDelete
  55. There's been a lot of social media complaints about the direction of the series. I think that has a lot to do with it.

    ReplyDelete
  56. 9.5 is quite a lot :p

    ReplyDelete
  57. Noted it! Still, pretty great for a show that usually does 0.4-0.3s

    ReplyDelete
  58. Edit that before any one gets a heart-attack!LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Lok. Yes it is.sorry,typo

    ReplyDelete
  60. CW: Wrecking Broadcasts Shows from Day One.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I thinks that's a definite possibilty,

    ReplyDelete
  62. CW: We Bigger than the Super Bowl.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I didn't like it but he had his reasons, however foolish that may be.Maybe i'm biased towards his character or abs!LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  64. And Glee was funny last night. I will miss Jane Lynch playing Sue Sylvester and her sidekick Becky. I found myself laughing out loud several times, much more than I do for comedies on NBC.

    ReplyDelete
  65. This episode was only down 4% year to year which is very reasonable. Overall, the season is down 12% which is just a bit above the league average drop - in other words, it is doing essentially the same as last year once you account for the overall decline. And NBC's drama scripted average is overall weaker, so the show is even better positioned than last year.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I didn't realize there were still comedies airing on NBC.

Now, honestly, I've dropped Glee midway through season 4 and haven't looked back since.

    ReplyDelete
  67. The problem is the 0.9 in ratings, we need to keep it above 1 consistently, which isn't happening. :(

    ReplyDelete
  68. How is NBC's drama scripted average?

    ReplyDelete
  69. i became frustruated when most of the comedy bits were focused on obama.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I liked the security he gave Zoe. Just what she was missing with Wade. He was a rock and was confident in himself and his love. He really was what Zoe needed at that point.
His departure was terribly handled, he should come back and sweep AB away.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Already did.lol.

    ReplyDelete
  72. good cuz i was stoarting to sound like a conspiracy theorist :-)

    ReplyDelete
  73. The 100 had 0.6/0.6 this week and it adjusted down to a 0.5. Which was quite disappointing, but it happens.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Well, I haven't been watching Glee regularly. I think I stopped for a period as well somewhere in season 4. But I always come back to it because I still like the characters and the uniqueness of it. I just thought better writing was needed. I saw the Cory episodes and watched a bit of Rachel in New York. But so far I've seen every episode this season. And it is better than 4 and 5 so far.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I'm not saying for sure that's what they're doing, but it's possible they're trying to get thier syndicated & proper ending just in case ( shows with proper ending sell better in DVD,Netflux, syndication)

    ReplyDelete
  76. The thing with those numbers are the percent of Elder people watching it.

The demos aren't that far away "just" double. So plenty people judge it as a CW show etc etc. That for the huge discrepancy.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I'm really not interested in Glee anymore. The new kids from season 4 really turned me off of the show.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Non weighted numbers (meaning episodes count the same regardless they were last week or the first week of the season):
    - ABC Comedy: 1.89
    - ABC Drama: 1.88
    - ABC Reality: 1.64
    - CBS Comedy: 2.45
    - CBS Drama: 1.73
    - CBS Reality: 1.81
    - CW Drama: 0.78
    - FOX Comedy: 1.75
    - FOX Drama: 1.58
    - FOX Reality: 1.61
    - NBC Comedy: 1.05
    - NBC Drama: 1.54
    - NBC Reality: 2.54

    ReplyDelete
  79. Oh at ABC's comedy brand being stronger than ABC's dramas.
So, ABC has the strongest drama slate; CBS, the comedy slate and NBC the reality slate (by your averages).

    ReplyDelete
  80. I liked Joel too

    ReplyDelete
  81. These numbers come with a lot of caveats though. The main one is how influenced they are by the timeslots. For instance, ABC has comedies on Fridays and CBS doesn't so that average will always be hurt because of that. Same goes for NBC and CBS dramas.

    ReplyDelete
  82. surprised as well, good enough numbers and close enough to 88 episodes to warrant at least a 12 episode renewal to reach the number

    ReplyDelete
  83. Season average: 0.40 (in relation sophomore drama 100 has a 0.53 average and Reign got a 0.42. Both shows are sophomores while HoD is in its fourth season)

Current episode ammount: 76, episodes to reach syndication worthy numbers: 12

Shows style: one-off storyline episodes aka. perfect for syndication

Perfect odds for a fifth and final season

    ReplyDelete
  84. I know its probably safe, but I'm worried for Grimm, I really wish it would rise. This season has been great so far.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Great chart. Do those numbers include repeats or only original episodes? ABC and to great extent NBC do not repeat most of dramas (ABC HTGAWM has been surpise consistent repeat). NBC rarely repeats CF/CPD. CBS usually repeats everything except for MS & TGW. (CSI has been exception because they ended up with 3 extra episodes because of late football.)

    ReplyDelete
  86. Grimm is fine, don't worry ;)

    ReplyDelete
  87. These numbers are originals only.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Congrats Dixies! Hoping to catch up on this show someday but in the meantime, I hope these great numbers mean a renewal. I think it would pair very well in Summer with BatB.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Victor Hugo G. Soares24 January 2015 at 17:52

After all looks like #HOD will be renewed.. go go!!!

    ReplyDelete
  90. HoD is doing pretty good. I can see it being renew for Summer or another midseason run

    ReplyDelete
  91. Constantine got pretty good numbers last night.

I'll just be hoping for the best.

    ReplyDelete
  92. COME ON NBC!! Constantine is getting the viewers finally. #SaveConsantine

    ReplyDelete
  93. Hopefully it could do both. Also if Daniel Gillies can pull double duty I'm sure WB could also.

    ReplyDelete
  94. true, but he can do it next to HoD! That's what they said!

    ReplyDelete
  95. noo! Hart of Dixie

    ReplyDelete
  96. Good for HoD!! Hope it gets better!! Its a great show, Its back on track like S1 and 2.
S3 was horrible, only because of Zoes relationship with Joell took to long... People ran away
But now, the brilliant writing is back! Not only because of Zade. Hope it gets renewed, if only for a 10 episodes season again!

    ReplyDelete
  97. What"Nooo"? Are upset HoD got an 0.5 which is its highest demo in about a year, good for Fri& up from the previous two demos?

    ReplyDelete
  98. lol then sorry yay then I messed up

    ReplyDelete
  99. It's ok.I wasn't sure if you were upset HoD rose cause you're rooting for another unrenewed as yet Czw show or some other reason

    ReplyDelete
  100. I think "final seasons"are for shows that lasted five or more season were at time at least hits for the network-Smallville was a sucsess running 10 seasons and even on Fri still one of the highest rated shows.GG was a hit in ratings in early season & big in op culture plus ran for five season.Had GG been able to wrap up in season five,I'm not sure it would've gotten that sixth season.90210 was a hit in early season but didn't get an announced final season ahead of time.Nikita was sucsessful internationally I've heard & aPedowitz was a fan.HoD was never a hit for Czw,hasn't run for many seasons like SMV or SPN,Czw has never supported the show either.I think now it has a chance at renewal but also won't be shocked if HoD,BatB are quire toy unceremoniously cancelled in May.He probably didn't want to announce as the final season cause he didn't know if Reign would collapse in season two like BatB and didn't know how the new shows besides Flash -certain to be a hit-would do and there's still Messengers,IZombie to see ratings for before he decides.

    ReplyDelete
  101. yeah but Reign is in its 2ns season and should be doing much better with all the promotion it's getting than a 4th season friday show which never got any promotion or help from CW

    ReplyDelete
  102. Why should it be dong much better?searluzed shows very rarely grow during thier run(Scandal is the only exception I know of),VD is decling in ratings,Thurs is one of the toughest night on tv with Reign gong against mega hits Scadal or Murder depending on your time zone ,Reign isn't getting lots of promotion-CW has only been promoting Fladh,Jane,TO,VD heavily, nothing has done well in the post VD slot,9/10 pm is the lowest rated hour of the night as its a heavy DVr & go to bed or catch up on DVr hour. Also, as I said,The 100 should be dong much better with all the reuns over summer& a couple last spring when it first started ( while Reign had one repat since season one ended).and having the Secind best leadin .VD is no longer the best leadin on the Neteork nor the highest rated show. That slot has been hard for CW for a while. The 100 is doing as badly as TTzp was with a higher rated Arrow this fall.Reign still retains more of Vzds audience than The 100does.Rein is at least doing better than Batzb did in season two.I agree HoD got no promotion or support from CW and don't disagree that Reigns 0.4-0.5 aren't great but ..

    ReplyDelete
  103. The majority of CW's viewership comes from digital platforms, DVR, Netflix, Hulu, and also pirating, although that last one doesn't help anyone's situation. Considering The CW has three of the top 10 pirated shows in the world I think it's safe to say the Nielson ratings are nothing but a sick joke.

    Especially in today's world.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Perhaps we'll get that .1 bump next week.

    ReplyDelete
  105. The only way I can handle watching Grimm any more is after the season is over. It's gotten far too tedious to keep up with on a weekly basis.

    ReplyDelete
  106. While Constantine might be getting canceled I am happy to see the slight increase.

    ReplyDelete
  107. well I hope it'll get renewed. Like : OUAT, Shield, Sleepy Hollow, Elementary & The Blacklist. I wish for all those renewed.

    ReplyDelete
  108. I'm so happy that this repeat of Hawaii Five-0 from December 13, 2013, had such high numbers in total viewers. (The total viewers were 9.13 million in its original broadcast.) Episode 4.10 "Hoʻonani Makuakane" ("Honor Thy Father") directed by Larry Teng is a historically important episode. Many scenes are recreations of Pearl Harbor and this episode discusses the Japanese-American internment camps in Hawaii during World War II. If anyone missed it or wants to watch it again it's available On Demand in many areas. It's a must-see episode. Get your box of tissues ready because you'll be crying by the end of the episode.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Bantilau Regnies26 January 2015 at 21:13

It's not dead until the official cancellation. Pedowitz said he was waiting for the ratings.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Bantilau Regnies26 January 2015 at 21:16

BATB season 4? Really?? Its renewal for season 2 and 3 is a mystery.
