Scene Of The Week - December 28, 2014 - POLL

A weekly feature in which we're trying to find the most compelling, best acted, written, directed and just generally great scenes that we've seen recently on TV.

DOCTOR WHO, "Last Christmas", December 25, 2014, Actors: Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman, Faye Marsay, The Scenes: The Doctor returns to free Clara from Dream Crab & Shona doesn't want to go home alone
Nirat Anop:
Twelve realises Clara is still young and returns to free her from the Dream Crabs, of which have still her in a Dream State. The evolution of the friendship between the Doctor and Clara has really been one of my favorite parts of this season and so I was incredibly happy to see her continue as the Doctor's Companion (I really don't like to lose companions). In the last of the many dream states which were brilliantly executed (very Christopher Nolan, Inception like) Twelve goes to an Older Clara's house to save her from the Dream Crabs, when Clara tells him how much time has passed and how she's aged, he simply replies, "Clara Oswald, you'll never look any different to me" was wonderful, a true definition of the word friend. Luckily Santa tells the Doctor that he is just in another Dream State and he saves Clara. I am very happy Clara is staying the Doctor's companion, they make a great team. I also really enjoyed Shona (Faye Marsay is very funny), the Elves (and their 'feels') and Santa whom was portrayed magnificently by Nick Frost.
Sandi: I really enjoyed Faye Marsay's performance throughout the whole episode, she managed to display more depth to her character than all the other guests. Her vulnerability when she realised that she wasn't actually part of the team but a lonely person was sad to see, I really felt for her as she was desperate to stay in contact with her new friends. I'd happily see her aboard the TARDIS again in the future, but with her obvious talent as an actress I can see her career taking her off before we have chance to see her as a companion unfortunately.

HOMELAND, "Long Time Coming", December 21, 2014, Actors: Claire Danes, Rupert Friend, Tracy Letts, Mandy Patinkin, The Scene: Carrie, Saul, Quinn and Lockhart talk at Carrie's father's wake
Bradley Adams:
Carrie, Saul, Quinn and Lockhart have a group conversation at Carrie's father's wake. Ann-Sophie Hamel: I thought it, somehow, was the highlight of the episode!

THE LIBRARIANS, "And Santa's Midnight Run", December 21, 2014, Actors: Rebecca Romijn and more, The Scene: Eve spreads hope around the world
Justyna Kubica:
It's Christmas and I felt it was a perfect Christmas scene. It wouldn't work so well in any other week of the year but it was a very special moment on this occasion. We all live in what is often a dark, dangerous world, full of war, pain and death so to see a little hope coming back to people, even in such a magical, impossible way means far more than I can say. It was a beautiful sequence with people everywhere getting better, stronger, more hopeful after Eve visits them. It was also a pretty good character moment. Nice to see such a nice change in the end for our protector. Already can't wait for the next episode and Flynn's return. Such a fun, entertaining show!

THE MENTALIST, "Black Market", December 21, 2014, Actors: Simon Baker, Robin Tunney
The Scene: Jane and Lisbon in the airstream
Diana Mack:
Last scene with Jane and Lisbon in the airstream. He tells her about leaving the FBI, not just for a vacation. She replies that's what she is - a cop. I think Jane is afraid about Lisbon risking her life in her job, and he wants to protect her in some way. Sweet scene.
