Blue Bloods - Excessive Force - Review: "Frank and Potter Meet Again"

Blue Bloods was exceptional this week, we are definitely seeing a lot more of Jamie in these episodes. I love how the focus has been taken off Danny, and allowed some of the other family members to get some shine. This episode Jamie and Eddie's relationship hit yet another speed bump, Danny got accused of using excessive force and Frank and Potter butted heads.

Starting off with fan favorite Jamie, Eddie had convinced Jamie to go and 'sweeten up' the doctor who was taking a while to see their suspect. However this did take an unexpected turn for Eddie as Jamie ended up liking the Doctor and went out for a drink later that night.

Eddie, who I think still has feelings for young Jamie, asked to ride with another cop for that tour, which quite confused Jamie. I think these two need to sort things out, Eddie is getting jealous for Jamie seeing other Girls, but blocking him out isn't the right way about it.

Onto the main storyline of the episode, Danny walks right into a robbery, and chases the suspect a long way into a building (that just happens to be in the same block as Rev. Potters' church). He corners the suspect at gunpoint, only for him to jump out the window, and claim that Danny pushed him.

What surprises me, is that Danny is not put on modified assignment when being accused of such an action. But the little boy that Danny told to go back inside, actually saw the whole thing. This is good news for Danny, because he won't have IAB on him once again.

But then Rev. Potter comes along, now Frank and Potter have knocked heads multiple times before, and the outcome has not been favorable. I do agree with Frank in the fact that Potter is just looking for something to attract attention from, and Danny getting accused of excessive force was just the reason Potter was looking for.

Frank definitely was not happy, he didn't like this one little bit. But one of the mistakes he has made in the past, has been protecting his officers, and going against Potters faith. Frank definitely made the right decision here, meeting with Potter privately, but Potter wanted Danny to resign. We all know that will never happen, Danny is one of the best detectives in the NYPD. But when Frank realized that Potter was bribing a witness with gifts, and hotels Frank was able to blackmail Potter into packing up and leaving Danny alone.

There was also some development with Sgt. Gormley, after he let his mouth off in the com-stat meeting (in front of Frank), Frank pulled him up on it. Frank wants Gormley to work for him in 1PP. I'm not entirely sure how this will all go, but by the sounds of it, we are going to be seeing a lot more of Sgt. Gormley.

Overall, I thought this episode was fantastic, I'm loving the extra screen time of Jamie, but Eddie and Jamie really need to sort their stuff out. With Danny, he is always the one to get blamed for excessive force, but I'm glad this time he didn't have IAB on his tail. Finally, I really think Frank handled the Potter situation really well, lets hope we don't see Potter for a long time.
