Continuum is back this Sunday on Showcase for its third season with "Minute by Minute". The long wait is finally over and after an explosive season finale last year, I'm very excited about this season premieres and to finally find out what happened to Alec, after he betrayed Keira and travelled trough time, and its consequences for our world.
I must admit I've never been a huge fan of Sci-fi shows. I'm not a fan of the genre actually. The only sci fi shows I've ever watched were The X Files and Lost. But then I met my boyfriend, who is very fond of science fiction, he made me discovered Fringe and I absolutely loved it. The time travel, the different timelines, Walter and Peter's relationship, Olivia and Peter's one, etc... Everything was amazing. And it made me changed my mind about sci-fi shows.
So, when I first heard of Continuum, I knew I had to watch it with him. I've always liked Rachel Nichols’ work since she appeared on Alias' final season, so that was just another reason to check this out.
And, I instantly fell in love with the show. The writing is clever, the acting is fine and the writers really created their own universe and set their own rules about time traveling. For me, Continuum is one of the best show on air.

So, what can you expect from "Minute by Minute" ? :
• Time travel ! Sure, it’s Continuum after all, time travel is the root of the show. Alec travelled through time in the season finale last year, and we will find out right away where he ended up. Well, it’s more ‘when’ than ‘where’ actually and of course it’s related to Emily. But, he won’t be the only one to travel through time. Someone else will also, using a whole new machine to do it.
• Alec’s journey in time will have really serious consequences… Like end of the world consequences....
• Lots of deaths ! And those are shocking and surprising deaths. I’ve never expected any of them to happen in this episode. There will be three deaths : one is very surprising, another is quite emotional and the last one is a little bit of both.
• But, be reassured, time travel means people who were dead can be alive now. And more than one character will be back from the dead.
• Since their introduction, we all have been wondered who the hell are those Freelancers, with their weird tattoos ! Well, you will be very satisfied because in “Minute by Minute”, that mystery will be solved. The Freelancers will finally reveal who they are, where they are from and what they are doing here. And their explanation is just brilliant. I loved it.
• Also, a major character will join the Freelancers (and get those odd tattoos)
• Alec’s family ! I love his weird family, with his evil father Escher and his funny son, who looks much older than them. It’s such a fun dynamic.
• Keira will get a new suit.
• A very intense and touching moment between Keira and Garza. Garza always has been my favorite from Liber8.

And one final hint, in my opinion, the theme of the episode is : continuity.
“Minute by Minute” is an excellent episode, a really great way to start the season. It looks very promising and if they continue in that direction (and I have no doubts about it), this third season is going to be legendary.
