The cast of Modern Family is scheduled to reconvene Thursday for a table read — two days after the first one of the new season was canceled because of ongoing salary negotiations.
20th Century Fox TV, the studio that produces the comedy for ABC, is hopeful the actors will attend, despite a lawsuit filed by the adult members of the cast Monday. Stars Ty Burrell, Sofia Vergara, Julie Bowen, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and Eric Stonestreet are going to court in an attempt to void their current deals by claiming their pacts violate California’s “Seven-Year Rule” prohibiting personal service contracts from lasting longer than seven years.
