-Ratings Breakdown:
NBC was back in the Sunday overnight winner’s circle care of Sunday Night Football, which featured Dallas at Philadelphia. And CBS benefitted by the mammoth 21.3 rating/34 share for an approximate 30 minute primetime football overrun at 7 p.m. But ABC also received positive news, with week two of fantasy drama Once Upon a Time at a third-place 7.7/12 in the overnights at 8 p.m. Comparably, that dipped by only eight percent from one week earlier (8.4/13 on 10/23/11), and that 8.4 overnight household rating translated into 12.93 million viewers and a 4.0 rating/10 share among adults 18-49 based on the Live Plus Same Day results.

Comparably, Once Upon a Time built from an encore telecast of its pilot (#2: 3.4/ 6 at 7 p.m.) by 126 percent, while outdelivering year-ago occupant Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (4.4/ 7 on 10/31/10) by a considerable 75 percent. That said, it looks like Extreme Makeover: Home Edition will be staying on Friday. Two episodes in, Once Upon a Time is looking particularly positive.

Despite the improved lead-in support, soon-to-conclude ABC lead-out Desperate Housewives on ABC (#3: 6.8/10 at 9 p.m.) declined by 19 percent year-to-year (8.4/12 on 10/31/10). And recently introduced Pan Am at 10 p.m. sunk to a series low 4.5/ 8. Six-week overnight track for Pan Am:

Pan Am (ABC)
9/25/11: 8.7/14
10/02/11: 5.8/10
10/09/11: 5.2/ 8
10/16/11: 4.7/ 8
10/23/11: 4.7/ 8
10/30/11: 4.5/ 8

Tick, tock…the cancellation clock is ticking for Pan Am.

In series-premiere news, animated Allen Gregory opened with a distant fourth-place 3.4/ 5 in the overnights at 8:30 p.m., which dipped from lead-in The Simpsons (#4: 5.1/ 8 at 8 p.m.) by 33 percent. Let’s wait and see what the young adult demos look like.

At 9 p.m. on Fox was Family Guy, which perked up to a 4.4/ 6 (#4), followed by relocated The Cleveland Show at a 3.2/ 5 in the overnights (#4) at 9:30 p.m. Earlier in the evening on Fox were encore telecasts of The Cleveland Show (#4: 2.5/ 4) and The Simpsons (#3t, 3.5/ 6) from 7-8 p.m.

Over at NBC, aforementioned Dallas at Philadelphia on Sunday Night Football averaged an estimated 14.8/23 in the overnights in primetime (from 8:30-11 p.m.), with the half-hour breakdown as follows:

Sunday Night Football (NBC)
8:30 p.m.: 15.3/24 (#1)
9:00 p.m.: 15.7/24 (#1)
9:30 p.m.: 15.8/24 (#1)
10:00 p.m.: 13.9/21 (#1)
10:30 p.m.: 13.1/21 (#1)

Earlier in the evening on NBC was pre-game Football Night in America as follows:

Football Night in America (NBC)
7:00 p.m.: 2.0/ 3 (#4)
7:30 p.m.: 5.7/10 (#2)
8:00 p.m.: 9.6/15 (#1)

Last, but not least, was CBS, which is approximate due to the half-hour primetime football overrun. A 7:30-8:30 p.m. edition of 60 Minutes, featuring interviews with Ruth and Andrew Madoff, was above average at a first-place 12.9/21 in the overnights. That led into The Amazing Race (#2: 7.6/12 from 8:30-9:30 p.m.), followed by older-skewing The Good Wife (#2: 7.8/12), which continues to beat ABC’s competing Desperate Housewives in the overnights, and long-running CSI: Miami (#2: 7.0/12 at 10:30 p.m.). Note: Overnight results for the second half of CSI: Miami were not available.
