ABC Entertainment president Paul Lee dropped a "Castle" spoiler during his Television Critics Association press conference on Sunday (Aug. 7): The show will feature an appearance by a Marvel Comics character this season.
"I'm probably giving away secrets that I shouldn't -- [creator Andrew Marlowe] is going to kill me," Lee says. But other than saying that a Marvel character would appear, and hinting that it would happen during "Castle's" Halloween episode, he wouldn't say more.
The "Castle" episode will be the first outward evidence on ABC that Marvel is now part of the Disney empire. The network also has two Marvel-based pilots in development, "AKA Jessica Jones" and "The Incredible Hulk," and Lee hopes "we'll have two very good choices to look at when we come around to pilot season next year."
