Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk (Nip/Tuck and Glee) just hired four writers/producers for their upcoming FX drama, American Horror Story, launching its first season in two months, on Wednesday, October 5th 2011 at 10pm with a 90-minute episode (± 65 minutes without commercials).

- Tim Minear worked on acclaimed, long-running shows such as Firefly (cancelled after 11 episodes, 3 eps unaired), Wonderfalls (cancelled after 4 episodes, 9 eps unaired), The Inside (cancelled after 7 episodes, 6 eps unaired), Drive (cancelled after 4 episodes, 3 eps unaired), Dollhouse (this show did manage to have a second season !), Terriers (cancelled after a single 13-episode season) and The Chicago Code (cancelled after a single 13-episode season). All these shows (except Terriers) aired on FOX. There seems to be a pattern here, I can't put my finger on it though. No seriously, he's a talented guy and hopefully he'll have more luck on American Horror Story.

- James Wong worked on The Event recently, he created Space : Above and Beyond in 1995 and he also worked with Chris Carter for a long time on two of his shows, The X-Files (Wong wrote 15 episodes from season 1 to 4) and then he switched to Millenium (he wrote 15 episodes of the first 2 seasons of this show). Besides, he created the Final Destination series (he also co-wrote the third installment).

- Jennifer Salt, like Brad Falchuk, is a fellow Nip/Tuck writer (they both were on the show from the beginning to the end and wrote 18 episodes each). She worked with Ryan Murphy on the Eat, Pray, Love movie, too.

- And finally, Jessica Sharzer wrote, produced and direct a movie called Speak.

All four of them are joining Murphy and Falchuk who decided not to do what they did on Glee, which is write the first 2 seasons all by themselves (with co-creator Ian Brennan). They decided to hire some writers for season 3, and apparently they decided to do the same on their new show, that's cool.
