Making a rare appearance in daylight at the Emmys, True Blood-sucker Kristin Bauer told me that she’s more than ready for what I’ve already dubbed “the season of the witch.” In fact, though her iceberg-lettuce-cool character spent much of this season being tortured and crying type-O-neg tears, she promises that before the finale, we’ll get to see Pam… Well, she describes it better than I could. Or at least less profanely. See for yourself in the video after the jump.

Is it hot in this post? Or is it just me?

As seen in this exclusive image from the Season 10 premiere of The CW’s ‘Smallville,’ a piece of Clark’s destiny – his true love, Lois – is in danger of going up in flames when someone lashes her to a cornfield crucifix.

The image harkens back to the very first season of ‘Smallville,’ when local boy Jeremy Creek – and then far-from-local boy Clark himself – got “hung up” by some overzealous pranksters.

Take a closer look (as I did, ahem), then read on….

What’s interesting to note is the slightly different mood to this “crucifixion” image versus the one that hit EW.com on Friday. There, Lois appeared distraught, her mane matted by fear/dread; here, she almost seems ascendant.

Maybe a super friend is just out of frame, heroically carrying her to safety? (I’m just spitballing, of course.) Whatever the case, I’m pretty sure my MacBook Pro here just got new desktop wallpaper.

You all have weeks to speculate on just how Lois’ apparent predicament plays into the season premiere, which is titled “Lazarus.” ‘Smallville’ returns for its final run on Friday, September 24, at 8/7c. Be there.

Thanks to Esteban for the heads up.

Do you have any new information on Henry Ian Cusick’s ‘Law & Order: SVU‘ character, and what’s in store for him and Benson (played by Mariska Hargitay)? – Dee93
The ‘Lost’ alum was hesitant to spill too much on his ‘SVU’ stint when I saw him at the Emmys, but he did say that graphic artist Erik and Benson “first meet in a train station, there’s sort of a flirtation, and it goes on from there.” Though Cusick is around for just two episodes – the September 22 season opener and the one after that – he promises, “It’s going to be an interesting role.”

I cannot wait for ‘Glee’s return – any scoop to share? – Alicia
Heather Morris – who looked positively golden at the Emmys – told me that in the Britney Spears/Brittany-centric episode airing September 29, “People will see more of what I do as an artist, which is dancing.” (If you’ve ever seen Heather back up Beyoncé, you know girl’s got mad moves.) Morris also said that while we will learn Brittany’s last name, her increasingly fleshed-out Cheerio won’t also gain a brain. “No, that’s confirmed – I will not be smarter!” she happily reported.

Do you have any information on ‘Glee’s Rachel and Finn? – Patricia K.
Between this scene shot (from E!) and this Twitpic (from Lea Michele), I’d say things are looking very good!

Do you have any scoop on ‘Nikita‘? Especially on Melinda Clarke’s character? – Angela
Shortly after the CW action-drama debuts on September 9, it will be revealed that the ‘O.C.’ alum’s character, Amanda, is nicknamed “The Inquisitor” because of her very thorough interrogation skills. Meaning, if you’re a hostile being detained by the top-secret Division and you won’t talk, expect a visit from Amanda… and don’t be surprised if she comes wearing (eek) a latex glove.

With the ‘Caprica‘ actors’ contracts expiring, executive producer David Eick said we’d hear a decision on Season 2 by August 15. It’s now almost September. Is the show canceled? – Pete
That deadline came and went, yes, but a source very close to Syfy’s ‘Caprica’ told me during Emmys weekend that NBC Universal worked out an “extension” that bought them until November to make a call on a pick-up. So hold out hope, Pete.

At Comic-Con, John Schneider said the ‘Smallville‘ Season 10 premiere (airing Sept. 24) features “the best-written scene I’ve ever done on [the show].” Any details? – Kipper
“I agree with him,” exec producer Brian Petersen said of Schneider’s rave. “He has a great scene with Tom Welling – kind of a reunion thing.” EP Kelly Souders added that Pa Kent’s improbable “return” is designed to kick off the final season with a bit of “the warmth, the mentor and sort of moral compass that Jonathan always was in Clark’s life – and that Clark has kind of been missing. He brings that aspect of ‘Smallville’ back.” Yes, this item is brought to you by Kleenex.

EW’s Michael Ausiello says that ‘Smallville’s Erica Durance is playing DC’s Isis. So, is she playing the comic/TV character or not? – history1776 via Twitter
Mere moments after I hit play on Oz’s video, I quadruple-confirmed what I had heard and posted in last week’s Big Tease. And I had it right: According to exec producer Kelly Souders, ED is doing double duty as an Egyptian goddess named Isis, but she is not the DC Comics character.

I was happy to hear that Brian Benben is now a series regular on ‘Private Practice,’ but do you have any idea what Sheldon will be up to? – Catalina
Alas, I don’t – nor does Brian! “I mean, he’s been rejected by everybody on the show!” the actor notes with a laugh. Still, Benben sees the glass as half-full. “There’s an ever-widening parade [of characters] on these shows, so we’ll see what happens.”

‘Angel’s Jenny Mollen said on Twitter that she will be appearing on ‘Law & Order: Los Angeles‘ (premiering September 29). Any scoop on her role? – Gabby
The erstwhile Nina Ash is guest-starring as Carly Morris, a party girl who is the recipient of some very, very nice gifts from her “clients.” She’ll be in just one episode.

Thank you so much for sharing the news about David Tennant and the ‘Fright Night’ remake during your Emmy tweets. Did he say anything about the status of NBC’s ‘Rex Is Not Your Lawyer’? – Dawn
I did ask about ‘Rex’ – which last I heard was being eyed by USA Network after NBC opted not to order the series – and Tennant confirmed what we sorta knew: It’s truly and sincerely dead. Shame, too – in addition to the former Doctor Who, ‘Rex’ also starred ‘Mad Men’ schoolteach Abigail Spencer.

Anything on how Eddie Cibrian will be written off of ‘CSI: Miami‘? – Tami
Since you apparently missed this story that quite bluntly reveals Jesse Cardoza’s fate, I’ll offer this sanitized version from Eva La Rue (aka Natalia): “In the season premiere, we lose Eddie Cibrian.” Turning to the bigger picture – that is, ‘Miami’s new Sunday time slot – Eva believes it could prove to be a better, more DVR-proof fit for the show’s fans. “It’s going to really interesting to see how they cover up Emily Procter’s pregnancy, Adam Rodriguez (Eric) is back…. There are a lot of good reasons to watch.”

I read that the ‘Covert Affairs‘ season finale is in mid-September. How long will I have to live without it? And to cope during its absence, what show(s) should I add to my Tivo season pass list? – Alicia
Sad but true, ‘Covert Affairs’ double-episode season finale airs September 14 – and the spy drama won’t be back until summer 2011. In the meantime, I would suggest that you DVR/watch On Demand the new shows ‘Nikita‘ (Thursdays, The CW) and ‘Undercovers‘ (Wednesdays, NBC), both of which offer a similar mix of espionage, intrigue and romance.

I am so happy about the Emmys for ‘Modern Family‘ and Eric Stonestreet. Do you have any scoop to celebrate? – Nancy
Well, in addition to meeting Cameron’s mom, Eric revealed backstage at the Emmys that in one Season 2 episode we will learn that Cam really, really “likes bike shorts, and he doesn’t get that they’re not appropriate [everyday] attire.” As such, he spends the whole episode enveloped in Spandex.

I was excited to hear that Gale Harold will play Marti’s law professor on ‘Hellcats‘! Do you have any scoop on his character, or any idea how many episodes he’ll be in? – Tariel22
As I scooped back in July, Gale’s law prof is someone Marti (played by Aly Michalka) will look up to – but not necessarily hook up with. At least not right away, seeing as The CW series will quickly handspring the blonde bombshell into a triangle with BFF Dan (‘Harper’s Island’s Matt Barr) and fellow cheerleader Luis (’One Tree Hill’s Robbie Jones). At this time, Harold’s episode count is TBD.

Does ‘The Good Wife’s Kalinda have a male or female love interest next season? Lesbians everywhere are wondering! – gabydunn via Twitter
When the CBS hit kicks off its sophomore season on September 28, don’t expect new light to be shed on Kalinda’s proclivities anytime soon. As Emmy winner Archie Panjabi said after claiming her much-deserved prize, “I’m as taken back by her mystery as the audience is, and her sexuality is one thing I still haven’t figured out. When [Kalinda] does confess it to me, I will certainly reveal it.”

Did you see ‘Glee’s Dianna Agron at the Emmys, Matt? – kb5961 via Twitter
See her? Yes. She walked thisclose to me. But talk to her? [Grumble] The luminous Dianna continues to be the Moby Dick to my Ahab. The Suzanne Somers to my Richard Dreyfus.

“Waldorf Stories” begins with Don reviewing the advertising book of Danny Siegel, a young (although probably not as young as he claims to be) hopeful ad man who has taken the slogan “the cure for the common cold” and recycled it for many other products. Don is unimpressed (nor is Peggy, who is assisting Don with the interview), and although Danny is related to Roger’s wife, it is not nearly enough for him to even be considered for the job. Don and Peggy have a brief conversation about the Glo-Coat commercial, which is up for an award at the Clio’s later that night. The conversation shortly turns to Vick Chemical, for which Peggy is responsible for creating an ad by the following Monday, even though she doesn’t get along with the new art director, Stan Rizzo.

Don then makes his way to Roger’s office, where they share a laugh about Danny’s incompetence before sharing a drink to prepare for the award’s show. Before they can leave for the award show they have a meeting scheduled with Life cereal. However the Life reps are grounded in Philly and cannot make the meeting in time, so the members of SCDP begin drinking in preparation of the Clio’s (which will be attended by Don, Roger, Pete, and Joan, even though Peggy took part in the creation of the ad).

While the others get drunk before the show, Peggy goes to discuss Vick Chemical with Stan Rizzo (who is showing off his reel, including the Daisy ad, to some of the secretaries). Peggy explains her disappointment in the lack of appreciation she has received for her role in the Glo-Coat ad, but Stan has no sympathy.

At the Waldorf (the site of the Clio’s), Don and Roger run into Ted Chaough, who is still his arrogant self, while Joan and Pete talk to Ken Cosgrove, a discussion that concerns Pete about SCDP possibly merging with (or being bought out by) Geier. The conversation is cut short, however, by the start of the awards. After a brief interruption by a very drunk Duck Philips, the show gets under way and awards begin to be given out. Before long, we come to the award for “Best Cleansers, Waxes, and Polishes.” Roger grabs a hold of Joan’s hand in anticipation for the announcement, and is followed by Don, who holds her other hand. SCDP is announced to be the winner, and in his excitement before accepting the award Don gives Joan a kiss on the lips. When he returns to the table, he is greeted b a secretary from the office, who tells them that the people from Life cereal rented a car, drove to New York, and are currently waiting at the SCDP office. Although Pete feels it would be wise to reschedule, Don is in such high spirits he decides to head back to the office right then to give the presentation.

Back at the office, Harry gives the people from Life a preview of the next few weeks of “Peyton Place” while they wait for the others to get back from the Clio’s. When they return, Don shows off the award before he drunkenly makes his way through the presentation. He shows the tagline, “Eat Life by the Bowlful,” and explains the idea, but even though the reps like the idea, they don’t feel that it will work. Instead of taking time to think over a new idea, Don begins to ramble off whatever comes into his head and eventually blurts out “the cure for the common breakfast,” which the reps love. Peggy realizes that Don has used Danny’s idea, but Don is too drunk and happy to care, and they agree to use the slogan.

Don hurries out of the meeting so he can get back to celebrating with Roger, but not before he assigns Miss Blankenship to find a hotel room for Peggy and Stan to work on the Vick’s ad. Pete pulls Lane aside to ask him about a possible merger with Geier, but Lane explains that there will be no merger. Instead, he is hiring Ken Cosgrove for his choice clients (Birds Eye, Mountain Dew, and Fillmore Auto Parts), and because he knows Roger doesn’t pull his weight and he wants someone to make life easier for Pete.

Out on the town, Don, Roger, Joan, and the Clio trophy continue the celebration. Don sees Faye miller talking to a man on the other side of the bar and goes over to “rescue” her. The two begin to talk about the award, but before long Don tries to turn on the charm and asks her to leave with him. However, just like the last time he hit on Faye, she turns him down and walks away.

At the hotel, Stan sits on the bed reading a Playboy as Peggy tries to get a hold of Don (unsuccessfully). Peggy then calls Stan out on talking about being a nudist but not actually being one. Stan says he knows Peggy is ashamed of her body (or at least she should be), but Peggy takes exception to this and begins to take off her clothes. She provokes him to join her, and the two strip until they are completely nude, sitting across the table from each other. Peggy tries to begin a conversation about the Vick’s ad, but notices that Stan is distracted (and aroused).

While Roger and Joan drink, a woman comes up to them to ask about Don. Joan informs her that he is in fact single, and the woman goes to introduce herself. Roger sulks about not getting recognition, claiming that they don’t give awards for what he does – find guys like Don.

Peggy continues to work on the ad, but gets no help from Stan who is still aroused and is trying to distract himself from Peggy’s naked body. However, Stan soon becomes embarrassed and decides to put his clothes back on (and Peggy does as well).

At Don’s apartment, he is bed with the woman, who is a Clio award winner herself. However, before they can get too far, Don passes out and wakes up only when he hears the phone ringing. He answers it and hears an angry Betty on the other line explaining to him that it’s noon and he was supposed to pick up Sally and Bobby two hours earlier. Don tries to tell Betty that he is picking them up on Sunday, but Betty informs in that it is Sunday. When Don hangs up the phone, the woman next to him asks if everything is okay, and Don sees that it is not the woman he went to bed with after the award show, but a woman he does not recognize (Doris, a waitress). Not only does he not remember anything about this woman (or the entire day before), but he apparently introduced himself as Dick Whitman. Don then claims he is late for something, and hides in the bathroom until she leaves.

When she leaves, Don pours himself a drink and lies down on the couch, where he passes out yet again, only to wake up later that night to a knock at the door. He opens the door to see Peggy, who says she has been trying to call him for the last two days. He lets her in, and she tells him that the tag he sold to Life cereal was actually Danny’s. Don has no recognition of pitching that tagline and asks Peggy to call Life to get them to change it, but she informs him that they loved it and will likely not be willing to change their minds. Peggy tells him that the only thing Don can do is bring Danny in to SCDP to talk about it.

The next morning, Lane walks into Pete’s office to let him know that Ken is on his way. Pete tells Lane that he will not be joining them for lunch and asks him to bring Ken to the conference room when he gets there. Peggy and Stan show Joey the mock up they created for the Vick’s ad, and Joey agrees that it is good. When Don gets to his office, he asks Miss Blankenship to call the Pen and Pencil to see if someone has found his award. He enters his office and finds Danny waiting for him. Don tells him that he is willing to give him $50 for his “cure for the common something” idea, but Danny doesn’t care about the money, he wants a job.

Lane brings Ken to the conference room as promised, where Pete is waiting for him. Pete tells Ken that he is willing to accept him to the team, but wants him to know that Pete is in charge, and Ken nods agreeably. Don asks Peggy to take Danny to see Joan, as he will be starting next Monday (which is shocking news to Peggy). Don then goes to Roger’s office, and after informing him that he has hired Danny, Roger takes Don’s award out of a cabinet and tells him that he left it at the bar. However, before he gives it back, he makes Don say that he couldn’t have done it without him.

Throughout the episode we are shown flashbacks of Don and Roger meeting and their following encounters that lead to Don’s hiring. The two first meet when Don is working at a fur company and Roger comes in looking for a new fur coat (which turns out to be a gift for Joan). As Don shows Roger a selection of coats, Roger notices an ad on the wall featuring a young Betty wearing a fur coat. Don tells Roger that he is the one who created the ad, and gives Don his card (but only to receive instructions on the delivery of the coat). When Joan takes the coat out of the box, Roger sees that Don has left his book in the box for Roger to review, but he ignores it.

Later, while Roger is waiting in the lobby of the old Sterling Cooper building, Don comes up to him to say hello. Don claims to have a meeting in the building, but Roger calls his bluff. It turns out that Don has left Roger several messages to see what he thought of his portfolio, but Roger tells him that not only did he ignore the messages; he also threw out Don’s portfolio. He tells Don that leaving it inside the box for the coat was a bad idea, but Don remains upbeat, telling Roger he is just trying to find a break. He then sweet talks Roger a little (calling him a very important man in a very important agency), and asks to buy him a drink (to which Roger accepts). The two talk over drinks at a restaurant, but after a few, Roger decides they should leave so he is not seen in his drunken state before the lunch crowd shows up.

Don again meets up with Roger in the lobby of the Sterling Cooper building, but this time Don claims that Roger told him to come in. Don says that Roger hired him the day before, and although Roger has no recollection of this (either Don made it up or Roger was too drunk to remember, I’m going with the former) the two get into the elevator together for Don’s first day at Sterling Cooper.

“Waldorf Stories” may not have been the best episode of the season, but it was probably the most entertaining episode so far. A week ago, we saw glimpses of Don back in his true form, using his business savvy to impress the people from Honda and his charm to impress Faye Miller. It turns out that it was nothing more than a glimpse, as Don returned to his struggling ways this week in what may in fact be rock bottom. He drunkenly used Danny’s tagline, was yet again shut down by Faye Miller, and blacked out for an entire day. Not all was bad for Don Draper, as the Clio will hopefully lead to more business for SCDP as it did for CGC, but winning the award was the catalyst for Don’s downward spiral. Not everything that happened in this episode was bad, however. Ken is back at SCDP (bringing some good accounts with him), and Peggy and Stan worked through their problems and came up with a good ad for Vick’s (hopefully this means they will be able to work well together in the future). This is also the type of episode where Pete’s antics would have annoyed me in the past, but now I’m almost happy to see him get his way and get Ken to acknowledge that he’s the one in charge. Things are starting to get very interesting at SCDP, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds with Ken (and the inept Danny) now working there, and to see if Don can turn things around after this debacle.

Warning: I’m about to reveal a major twist in Grey’s Anatomy‘s Sept. 23 season premiere involving Cristina and Owen, so you best hit the nearest exit if you don’t want it spoiled. Everyone else, onward and downward…

As I teased earlier this month… they’re getting hitched! And I repeat: Star-crossed lovers Cristina and Owen are getting married—and series creator Shonda Rhimes is here to explain why. (BTW, for those keeping track at home, this wedding is not this wedding.)

“The theme of this season is rebirth,” declares the Grey’s boss lady. “Everybody is sort of coming out of this very dark place [following last season's massacre]. And there was something really hopeful and beautiful about Cristina and Owen getting married.”

At the same time, Rhimes says she wanted something to symbolize that the show was undergoing a major shift in season 7. Basically, she needed a game-changer. “We talked about jumping ahead in time, we talked about jumping ahead a year,” she says. “And when it came down to it, the one thing that signals the biggest change in the world is Cristina wanting to be a bride. There can be nothing more different for Cristina than Cristina wanting to be a bride.”

With the will-they-or-won’t-they tension gone, is Rhimes at all worried “Crowen” will succumb to the dreaded B-word? “It’s really hard for Cristina and Owen to be boring,” Rhimes argues. “If Mer and Der are a lighter couple, Cristina and Owen are so fraught with their darkness and their twistiness that I can’t imagine them getting boring ever.”
Thoughts? Excited to see Cristina get her happy ending (at least for the moment)? Sound off below!

[Warning: This story contains spoilers from the upcoming season of Grey's Anatomy.]

With less than a month until the Season 7 premiere of Grey's Anatomy, we can finally reveal that Cristina (Sandra Oh) and Owen (Kevin McKidd) are the two docs getting married in the season finale.

How many new docs will scrub into Grey's? Zero, says Rhimes

How will this change the dynamic of their relationship? Where will they live? Can this rushed marriage survive? And what about Teddy (Kim Raver)? Kevin McKidd, one half of the married-couple-to-be, gives TVGuide.com all the dish and more:

TVGuide.com: Let's start with the big question: How does Owen propose to Cristina?
McKidd: It's quite a shocker. It's definitely an unexpected proposal. There is definitely one knee involved, but there's more to it than that. It's a funny scene because we see it as a flashback. The proposal comes out of something that we didn't expect. The proposal is not over some candlelight dinner.

TVGuide.com: When did you find out that Owen and Cristina were getting married, and how did you feel about it?
McKidd: I had been on a movie during hiatus, so I came back the day of the table read and a props master came up and said, "I have to measure your ring finger," before we did the read. I said, "Why?" and she said, "Because you're getting married in the first episode!" So she kind of let the cat out of the bag. Everyone else was pretty surprised, but I already knew. It's kind of a shocker. I think people are going to be taken aback by it.

Grey's Anatomy's Ellen Pompeo: Meredith becomes the caretaker in Season 7

TVGuide.com: Is this a rushed wedding because of what happened in the finale?
McKidd: People who have been through cataclysmic events, it does change people and make them realize what matters in life. It crystallizes relationships and can be the catalyst for people to take a big step in their relationship. It will be interesting to find out whether that was the right or the wrong step and what that means for Cristina and Owen going forward. Did they rush into it? Did they do it for the wrong reasons? I think they didn't do it for the wrong reasons, but all those questions will be asked.

TVGuide.com: How does Cristina change because of the finale and the subsequent engagement?
McKidd: She's displacing all of her anxiety and focusing it into that one thing that she can plan for and control: the wedding. This horrible event happened to Cristina in an O.R., which is the place that she loves above all else. One of the things that can trigger PTSD is being back in the same place that the event happened. So this causes a big problem for her. She definitely does try to fixate on the wedding. Very quickly after they get married, Owen starts to realize that there's a lot more to this. The wedding and being married isn't going to fix her, so he starts to step up in different ways and try to help her back to the whole person she used to be.

TVGuide.com: How does everyone in the hospital react to them getting married so quickly?
McKidd: They've been together for two seasons, so maybe it isn't rushed, but Owen and Cristina are still struggling through a lot of things together and are very committed to each other. Even though they know people around them in the hospital are thinking, "Wow, these guys are really doing this quickly," they are still the soul mates that we've known them to be. I think it does deepen their relationship.

Shonda Rhimes: Grey's Anatomy docs all grown up in new season

TVGuide.com: So they will still keep that passion even as a married couple?
McKidd: Oh yeah. I think what's interesting is that they got married very quickly because of something big that happened in their lives, and now they have to look at the consequences. The audience will see Owen and Cristina constantly question whether they made the right decision. Not about being with each other, but getting married so quickly. Nobody is thinking straight after a huge event like that. If that hadn't happened, would they have done it? That will be the question. So it does keep that spark and that will-they-won't-they thing alive in their relationship. They're constantly pulling and pushing with each other.

TVGuide.com: Cristina and Owen's storyline has been a little dark over the last two seasons, with his dealing with PTSD. Might we eventually see some lighter, more comedic moments with them?
McKidd: I hope so. It does seem to be that Cristina and Owen get the intense, messed up relationship storylines quite a bit. I would like to explore the lighter moments. We're going to see them build a home together. Now that their married, they can't be kind of house sitting. They need to find a place they're both happy with. We're going to see them have fun, because they're both very strong-minded people, who have very definite opinions and tastes. They're not necessarily the same, especially when they chose a place to live and how to decorate it. I think it'll be more domestic fun for them.

TVGuide.com: So they won't be living with Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) anymore?
McKidd: I think they suddenly get the feeling that being a married couple in that situation is not making everybody feel comfortable, and they want to have their own space as well. They kind of need to spread their wings.

Grey's Anatomy's Kim Raver calls time of death on Cristina-Owen-Teddy triangle

TVGuide.com: With Owen finally choosing Cristina over Teddy in the finale, can you confirm that love triangle will stay dead and buried now?
McKidd: That's what I've been told. [The writers] seem to want to build storylines for Teddy in a different way now. It almost feels like last season should've been the season that Owen and Cristina should've broken up, but however it happened, they didn't. On paper, they should've been broken up years ago, but they're still going strong. I like that. I think in the writers' minds, they want to not be so actively going down the path of how to break these people up, but now it's how they can keep them together. The triangle isn't there anymore. It's more how Cristina and Owen will fight for their relationship and their marriage. He's going to be a rock for her for a lot of this season. He took a lot from Cristina in the first season and, in a way, it's kind of payback time, and he does that willingly and gladly because he loves her.

TVGuide.com: There's always a lot of baby talk on Grey's. Do you think that could be in the cards for Cristina and Owen?
McKidd: I think that would be interesting. I know there was originally a storyline that ended up being changed in Season 1, where Cristina got pregnant and they were going to have a baby, but they decided to save that for later. I wouldn't say that isn't going to happen, because we almost started that storyline a few seasons ago, but decided it was too much too soon. A lot of comedy would come out of that seeing the two of them face that together, because they're kind of an odd couple, especially as parents.

XIII heads to series

Prodigy Pictures in Canada and France's Cipango are making more XIII - the drama based on the enduring Belgian comic book - and have cast Stuart Townsend in the lead.

The two companies made a mini-series based on the property in 2008, with Stephen Dorff leading as an amnesiac secret agent who's out to discover his true identity.

But a 13x60' XIII series starring Townsend (Battle in Seattle, Chaos Theory) is now set to air on France's Canal Plus and on Showcase in Canada in the spring. Showcase is also about to air another Prodigy property, the supernatural-themed series Lost Girl, next month.

Cipango's Edouard De Vesinne and Thomas Anargyros exec produce with Jay Firetsone (Day of the Triffids) of Prodigy. Gil Grant (24) wrote the pilot, will be showrunner and will also exec produce. Three of the 13 episodes will be directed by Duane Clark (CSI: New York).

Shooting starts this fall in Toronto. A US broadcaster has not been named. The 2x90' miniseries aired there on NBC.

I think the term "Star" in the Press Release below should be use very loosely.

An all-new lineup of stars -- including a Grammy® Award-winning singer, a Super Bowl MVP quarterback, television’s ultimate mom, an NBA champion, Alaska’s most famous daughter, and the most watched TV star in the world – will battle each week on the dance floor in the sensational two-hour season premiere of “Dancing with the Stars,” MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 20 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

All 12 couples will dance for the first time on live national television on MONDAY,
SEPTEMBER 20 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET), with couples either performing the Viennese Waltz or Cha Cha. The couple with the lowest combined judges’ scores and public votes for their performance will be sent home on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET) in the season premiere of “Dancing with the Stars the Results Show.” Music legend Santana and rock band Daughtry are slated to perform.

The 12 celebrities heading to the dance floor this season, as announced tonight by “Dancing with the Stars” hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke in a live press conference during “Bachelor Pad,” are:

MICHAEL BOLTON – Michael Bolton has sold more than 53 million records, released 18 studio albums, won multiple Grammys® for Best Male Vocalist and countless other honors, all while selling out arenas worldwide. In 2002 the singer-songwriter earned a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. He has sung with Luciano Pavarotti and Ray Charles, written songs with Bob Dylan, Ne-Yo and Lady Gaga, penned hits for a diverse range of artists, including Barbra Streisand and KISS, played guitar with B.B. King and had his music recorded on a track by hip-hop superstar Kanye West (featuring megastar Jay-Z). Earlier this year Bolton released his latest album, “One World One Love,” featuring his current single, “Murder My Heart,” which he co-wrote with Lady Gaga, and is currently on a worldwide concert tour. Of all that he has accomplished, perhaps nothing is more important to Bolton than the foundation he founded in1993, The Michael Bolton Charities, Inc. Based in his home state of Connecticut, the major focus of The MBC is the critical issue of violence against women. Since its inception, The MBC has dispersed over $6 million in grants to various organizations that support children and women at risk of poverty, abuse, neglect, homelessness and domestic violence.

BRANDY – Brandy is a platinum-selling R&B and pop singer, actress, songwriter and record/television producer. In 1994, at the age of 15, Brandy released her eponymous debut album, selling over 6 million copies. Following a major success with “The Boy Is Mine,” a duet with singer Monica, which spent 13 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart, she won a Grammy® Award for Best R&B performance by a duo or group. The accompanying album “Never Say Never” in 1998 sold over

16 million copies worldwide. A series of hit CD’s followed, including “Full Moon,” “Afrodisiac” and “Human,” bringing the star’s sales to over 30 million records to date. While maintaining a recording career, Brandy also gained fame as an actress, starring in several film and TV projects, including the popular UPN sitcom, “Moesha” (1996-2001), the 1997 version of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella, Double Platinum,” a miniseries co-starring Diana Ross, and the movie “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.” Brandy has also been spokesmodel for Cover Girl, Candies Shoes, DKNY, Sketchers Shoes and Ultima/Kaneka brand by Brandy. Her civic and charity interests include the Make-A-Wish Foundation and The Norwood Kids Foundation, which supports music and the performing arts in public schools. She is currently filming Season 2 of the hit VH1 reality show “Brandy and Ray J: a Family Business,” in which she stars and on which she’s executive producer. She is also in studio recording a new CD for release in 2011.

MARGARET CHO – One of the most successful stand-up comediennes of today, Margaret Cho’s performances have been seen by millions around the world. Having first performed stand-up in her native San Francisco at the age of 16, Cho’s best-selling tours include the off-Broadway hit/concert film “I’m the One That I Want,” “Notorious C.H.O.,” “Revolution” and “Beautiful.” She is also a regular cast member of the hit Lifetime series “Drop Dead Diva.” Other acting work includes her starring role in the sitcom, “All-American Girl,” “Face/Off” and several guest star appearances, including “Sex and the City” and “Ghost Whisperer.” Cho is also a best-selling author whose work includes the book I’m the One That I Want and a collection of essays entitled I Have Chosen to Stay and Fight. A passionate advocate for equal rights, she has received honors from GLAAD, the National Gay and Lesbian task Force, National Organization for Women, Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund, the Victory Fund and many others. Cho is currently touring with “Cho Dependent,” which features both stand-up and songs from her new music comedy album of the same name.

RICK FOX – Three-time NBA Champion with the Los Angeles Lakers, actor and producer Rick Fox has appeared in a number of film and television projects, sharing the screen with actors ranging from Whoopi Goldberg to Henry Winkler, Angela Bassett and Shia LeBeouf. Fox’s acting debut came in 1994 in William Friedkin’s “Blue Chips.” Similar roles followed in 1996’s “Eddie” and 1998’s critically acclaimed “He Got Game” (directed by Spike Lee), before Fox’s breakout role on the hit HBO series “Oz.” Since then he has appeared in over a dozen network shows, including “Ugly Betty,” “One Tree Hill,” “The Game” and “Dirt.” In addition he has appeared in such diverse films as “Resurrection,” “Holes,” “Mini’s First Time” and Tyler Perry’s “Meet The Browns.” While Fox continues to strengthen his craft, he’s just as busy behind the camera developing his own film and television projects for his production company, 1744 Entertainment. As a star basketball athlete, he attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was coached by the legendary Dean Smith. He began his pro basketball career when he was drafted into the NBA by the Boston Celtics as a first round pick. He went on to be the captain of both the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers while being coached by 11-time champion Phil Jackson. Fox is a father of two and currently resides in Los Angeles.

JENNIFER GREY – A beloved actress of both film and television, Jennifer Grey is best known for her starring roles in the iconic movies “Dirty Dancing” and “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.” Grey starred as Frances “Baby” Houseman in the award-winning box office hit, “Dirty Dancing,” which is widely considered one of the best dance movies of all time. Some of her other films include the Ben Affleck movie “Bounce,” “Red Dawn” and “The Cotton Club.” She starred in the television sitcom “It’s Like, You Know…” and has made memorable television appearances on such shows as “Friends,” “John from Cincinnati,” “The New Adventures of Old Christine” and an upcoming episode of the medical drama, “House”. Grey has also starred in various television movies, including “A Case for Murder,” CBS’s “The West Side Waltz” and the Lifetime original movie “Road to Christmas.” The daughter of Tony® and Academy Award® winner Joel Grey, she resides in Los Angeles with her family, actor/director Clark Gregg and daughter.

DAVID HASSELHOFF – Listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as “The Most Watched TV Star in the World,” David Hasselhoff is an international superstar across all genres of music, television and film. Hasselhoff got his start in entertainment on the popular soap opera, “The Young and the Restless,” and was quickly pursued to play the lead role of the 1980’s cult favorite, “Knight Rider.” But hi fame was really catapulted when he starred in the television phenomenon “Baywatch.” The series ran for 11 years and is still viewed in 140 countries by over one billion viewers every week. Throughout his extraordinary television career, Hasselhoff has also appeared in such feature films as “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story” and Adam Sandler’s “Click.” Off screen he has recorded multiple albums -- one that has gone triple platinum -- starred in the Broadway musical “Jekyll & Hyde,” in London’s West End production of “Chicago” and in “The Producers” in Las Vegas. Most recently he was honored by Comedy Central with “The Comedy Central Roast of David Hasselhoff,” which premiered as one of the top-rated comedy roasts on the network. Not only is Hasselhoff a multi-faceted talent but he is also a writer of an autobiography, Don’t Hassel The Hoff, which made the UK Bestseller list re-titled as Making Waves and debuted at No. 8 in Austria on the non-fiction charts. Beyond his entertainment contributions, Hasselhoff is the co-founder of Race for Life and an active participant in Wounded Warriors and Wheels for Humanity.

FLORENCE HENDERSON – Florence Henderson is a multi-talented actress, talk show host, recording artist, author, Broadway veteran and philanthropist. Her career is as active today as when she first appeared as the “Today Girl” on “NBC’s Today Show,” and as the first woman to host “The Tonight Show.” Henderson has appeared on such popular primetime programs and made for television specials as the critically acclaimed movie of the week for Hallmark entitled “Ladies of the House” and the popular RLTV Network’s “Florence Henderson Show.” She will always be best known in syndication worldwide as “America’s Favorite Mom” and matriarch Carol Brady on the classic hit TV series “The Brady Bunch,” which aired for five seasons (1969-1974), has never been off the air in this country, and currently airs in 122 countries around the world. KYLE MASSEY – Kyle Orlando Massey stars as Cory Baxter in Disney Channel’s No. 1 hit sitcom, “Cory in the House,” Disney Channel’s first-ever spin-off. He originated the role of Cory in Disney’s “That’s So Raven,” the first show in Disney’s history to produce over 100 episodes. For his work on “That’s So Raven” and “Cory in the House,” Massey received an NAACP Image Award nomination. In addition to appearing in numerous commercials, he starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie “Life is Ruff.” He has a recurring role on the animated series “American Dragon: Jake Long” and sings the main title theme songs on “Cory In The House,” “Yin! Yang! Yo!” and performed the title track for Walt Disney Picture’s “Underdog.” Currently Massey is starring as the voice of Milo on the Disney Channel’s upcoming animated , “Fish Hooks.” For his prowess in golf, he won first place in the National Minority Junior Golf Tournament in 2003. He has participated in several celebrity golf tournaments, placing 3rd in a recent White House Golf Tournament. Together with brother Christopher, he has worked on projects to benefit the charity organization Feed the Children and traveled to Africa for the network primetime television special, “Eyes on Kenya.” They have also performed their rap music in “Heroes Among Us: The 2009 Hero Awards” and in MyNetworkTV’s “The Spirit of Christmas.” Currently they are co-hosting and starring in the comedy series “World’s Funniest Moments.”

BRISTOL PALIN – Bristol Palin, former first daughter of Alaska, first entered the national spotlight when her mother, former Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin, was selected to be John McCain’s running mate in the 2008 Presidential election. Bristol traveled the country, alongside her mother, father and siblings on the campaign trail. After giving birth to her son, Tripp, and becoming a single teen mother in 2008, she became a spokesperson for the prevention of teen pregnancy and for other teen issues. As an advocate for the protection of life, Palin wanted to share her story with other teens who may one day face a similar situation. She also acts as Teen Ambassador for The Candie’s Foundation to prevent teen and unplanned pregnancies. As part of her campaign, Palin recently guest starred as herself on an episode of ABC Family’s teenage drama, “The Secret Life of the American Teenager.” She resides in Alaska with her son and family.

AUDRINA PATRIDGE – After starring in six seasons of the hit series “The Hills,” Audrina Patridge has joined the ranks of young Hollywood as one of the most sought-after and talked about talents on television. Patridge, who aspired to become an actress from a very early age, has been honing her skills with regarded coaches and private acting classes. She made her debut on the big screen last fall in the thriller “Sorority Row.” Other film credits include the action-adventure film “Into the Blue 2” and “Honey 2.” She has also tested her hand at comedy, appearing on an episode of the sitcom “Do Not Disturb” and in a hilarious skit for “MAD TV.” Last summer Patridge made headlines steaming up TV screens in a commercial for Carl’s Jr. This July she became the latest Bongo girl, shooting the fall advertising campaign with famed photographer Tony Duran.

MIKE “THE SITUATION” SORRENTINO – Mike Sorrentino has become one of Hollywood’s emerging talents. Born in Staten Island, New York and raised in Manalapan, New Jersey, Sorrentino is most known for starring on the hit show “The Jersey Shore,” now in its second season on MTV. He graduated from Manalapan High School and went on to college in NJ. After graduation in 2004, he tried his hand at personal training, fitness modeling and soon after was scouted for an upcoming reality show which would eventually become “The Jersey Shore.” The show caught fire, becoming one of the highest rated shows in MTV history, and propelled “The Situation” into pop culture phenomenon. As “The Jersey Shore” continues in its unrivaled success, Sorrentino also continues to gain in popularity nationally and internationally. He was nominated this year at the Teen Choice Awards for Choice TV: Male Reality Star. Upcoming projects include a book, Here’s the Situation, which will be out in stores on November 2, a vitamin line with nationwide store GNC that will launch in the fall and a fitness DVD which will be out in December.

KURT WARNER – Kurt Warner is the first quarterback ever to participate in “Dancing with the Stars.” In 1999 he emerged from obscurity to lead the St. Louis Rams to a victory in Super Bowl XXXIV. In that same year, Warner was named the NFL and Super Bowl Most Valuable Player. As the ringleader of the “Greatest Show on Turf,” he led the Rams to two additional playoff appearances – including another Super Bowl -- and received Pro Bowl honors for three consecutive years (1999-2001). He also earned his second NFL MVP in 2001. Injuries led Warner to move from the Rams to the Giants, and finally the Arizona Cardinals in 2005. In 2007 he led the Cardinals to their first ever Super Bowl berth, was voted to his fourth Pro Bowl and surpassed several Cardinals franchise records, including touchdowns, attempts, completions, completion percentage and passer rating. Warner’s gridiron accomplishments pale in comparison to the dedication he shows to the community. In 2001 he and his wife, Brenda, established the First Things First Foundation, a non-profit public charity dedicated to impacting lives by promoting Christian values, sharing experiences and providing opportunities to encourage everyone to believe that all things are possible when people seek to put first things first. Warner was born and raised in Iowa and played college football at the University of Northern Iowa. He lives in Arizona with his wife and seven children.

Thanks to Mayra for the heads up.

Frederick: Gossip Girl. Give it up! Is there any hope for Chuck and Blair? I'm getting really depressed with what I've seen for the new season.
I know you Chair fans have been in a funk since May, when Chuck the Basshole did you know what with you know who (for shame!), but I finally have a ray of hope to offer...I can tell you exclusively that Chuck and Blair will have, um, relations, of the bom-chicka-bow-wow kind during the upcoming season. At least, that's what my sources are saying. Whether they will actually get back together, well…that I cannot say, sorry. But still, that's a pretty major reason to keep tuning in, right?

Leslie in Carmel, Ind.: Gossip Girl...What can you tell us?
Penn Badgley can sum up the return of your favorite Upper East-Siders: "There's a baby on the way, which I think everybody already knows anyway. We're in Paris for a bit. There's a gunshot wound and there's another marriage." Then he laughs. "I think. It's hard to keep track of the weddings, because they're all broken up anyway!" So, business as usual then? Indeed. "It's the same kind of sensational stuff you've come to expect, and the change of locale makes it even more gorgeous. More of the same but in an even more heightened capacity," Penn promises. Hang in there, GG fans. It's almost time for the season premiere.

Marco in Florida: Could I please get some Desperate Housewives scoop? You haven't talked about it in ages!
Damn skippy. And I'm about to fix that. But if you're under the age of 18, avert your eyes! Sources tell me that Teri Hatcher's Susan will be dabbling in some voyeurism—on the receiving end—for pay, in the coming season! Word is, she moves into an apartment building where her neighbor is cleaning her apartment in her lingerie for money, and Susan just might dabble in dusting while showing her derriere. Also, Vanessa Williams is totally the new Nicolette Sheridan of the show—on camera. She is a diva with money, a divorcée, and Lynette's former college roommate with whom she always had a very contentious relationship. Lynette's gonna have a whole heap o' drama courtesy of Ms. Vanessa this year. I hear her character is moving onto Wisteria Lane.

Greg in Maui: Some romance scoop on Glee, please!
Aside from our exclusive visual proof that Finn and Rachel will be PDA City: See it here! How about a big sigh of relief for the couple that is not happening?! Jessalyn Gilsig (who looked amazing at last night's Emmys, no?) tells us that producers decided not to do anything further with Terri and Finn. "That was too dangerous, so we decided not to go down that road again," she tells us. "Teri's gonna get a new life, which is good. And it integrates her into the glee club, bringing me around the kids more." Hmm, vocal coach maybe? She's got her heart set on a new lovah—or ten! "I'm insisting," she teases. "I definitely think Javier [Bardem] has wanted to work with me for a long time, so that's something we have to realize for him. I like that there's a history built in with Neil Patrick Harris' character, so that would be really fun too. I'm a very easy, slutty person, so I'll just go with anyone." And I will stay Team Jessalyn.

Jessica in Tenn.: Are we going to see something happen with Arlene's baby situation before the end of the season on True Blood?
As a matter of fact, Mrs. Carrie Preston assures us we will…well, kinda. "Arlene is still very conflicted. But there's going to be a resolution to the conflict," she says, "But it's also going to be open-ended." Either she's speaking in tongues or my Emmy (lack of sleep and too much ginger ale) hangover is worse than I thought. Does that make any sense to anyone? Carrie's equally wonderful hubby Michael Emerson weighed in on the baby drama, saying, "I mean, we have to see the baby," to which she responded, "If there is a baby…" Now I'm really stumped. She's not pulling a Terri Schuester is she? Or preggo with some sort of supernatural somethin'? The mind boggles.

Gina in Australia: Is Leven Rambin (Sloane) coming back to Grey's Anatomy?
We chatted up Leven at the Kari Feinstein Gift Lounge this weekend and though she said her "lips were zipped," her eyes at the HBO Emmy party (OK, fine, I was talking to her!) sure said yes. When asked which Grey's guy she'd love to hook up with, she told me: "Is it weird to say my dad? 'Cause I do love Eric Dane." Then she laughed. "Yeah, yeah, that is weird. Let's go with Alex. That would be a good fit!" She's also happy her character didn't show up in the latest shoot-out season finale. "Sloane probably would have just used someone as a human shield."

Cara in N.C.: Can you tell us anything else about the big kiss on Modern Family?
Who cares about Cam and Mitchell? Kidding. I do. But now that everyone knows that kiss is happening, how about the fact that the other couple who have never kissed are finally gonna do the deed, too, in the same episode. "It's a big kiss episode," Sofia Vergaga (Editor's Note: That is a type-o I am so leaving in!) tells us. "We all kiss each other. Family kiss!" And yes, that includes a long overdue smooch between Ed O'Neill and Sofia. The real victim here? Julie Bowen, who jokes, "I never get to do any fun kissing!" Clive, we feel for you man. We thought it was special, too.

Keith in St. George, Utah: Any fun storylines this season on Modern Family?
Fun? You want fun? Well, how totally super-fun-good-times is this?! The Dunphy family is going to mourn the loss of a loved one. Hooray! Oh, chill out, I'm just talking about a hunk of metal. "We say goodbye to the family car, which is actually very emotional," Julie Bowen deadpanned to me at the Emmys. "It's the sedan from like1985. I spent the week crying over that car. This is a car you haven't seen that's just been sitting in the garage." You heard it here first people: MF is going really dark for an episode. Have the hanky on standby.

Julia in Indianapolis: Since there's not one big bad on Dexter this season, is he going to be up against all the guest stars coming on board?
Nope! Or so says my Dexter girl-crush (MCH, see, we have so much in common!) Jennifer Carpenter. "The guest stars are not all about different cases. They each serve their own purpose." As for the tone of Dexter this season, J. Carp says: "It feels like the pilot, and things are running the way they were way back then. It's like a kick back to the original, which is fun!"

Kurtis in Los Angeles: Any news on a Quinn and Deb romance on Dexter this season
It sure sounds like it's a go! "They are a good fit right now," Jennifer says. "Deb's just trying to get back to work. There's a new case that's really exciting, and some of the dynamics in the bull pen are changing. The show is a lot more procedural that it ever has been."

Jessie in Houston: I'm craving anything you've got on Big Love, please.
It's still too early for any real Big Love dish, but fresh off his Emmy win, onetime Henrickson-in-law Aaron Paul tells us he and his onscreen wifey Amanda Seyfried might return for season five. Says the Breaking Bad star: "I haven't gotten any official, official word, but there have always been hints about having Sarah and Scott come back for a Thanksgiving episode."

Boris in Ore.: What have you heard about Andy and Erin's relationship on The Office this season?
Sorry to burst the bubble of any Andin shippers out there, but these two are still dunzo. "Andy is on his own journey," Ellie Kemper said at the Emmys. "Andy's focusing on other things, acting—he's in community theater, a show-stopping number in a show stopper of a show." So will Erin's ex-beau take on her rumored new beau Gabe (played to perfection by newcomer Zac Woods)? "No fist fights," said Ellie. But Zac put it more hilariously: "If the statement is 'I don't know who would win in a fight between you and…' regardless of who the other person is, I would lose. I'm jacked, but my Herculean frame is deceptive." Hate to say it, but they're kinda cute together, peeps!

Alicia in Pittsburgh: Any scoop on Jax and Tara on Sons of Anarchy this season?
Let's just put it this way: For Jax and Tara, season three is probably going to be both the best of times and the worst of times. They'll have some awful fights (for which Jax deserves most of the blame, BTW), and they'll have some really wonderful (top-secret) twists as well.
