None other than John Schneider is set to return to the series in Season 10, reprising his role as Clark's adoptive human father, Jonathan Kent.

Obviously Jonathan's return raises some questions, given that the character died back in Season 5. I can't reveal yet the how and why of Jonathan's appearance, but I can tell you that we'll see him in the season premiere, entitled "Lazarus."

So, we've seen a third of the season already, and True Blood is starting to warm up. I've been recapping the episodes in great detail, but I haven't put in any of my own opinions and thoughts as to what is happening thus far. I figured this was as good a time as any to offer up my thoughts on the first quarter of the season. So, to fill the lack of emptiness this week, sink your fangs in this...

White Collar returns in just under two week to USA Network, and I couldn't be more excited. I recently got to visit the set, meet the cast and crew, and get a sneak peak of the first episodes of the coming season. If you haven't seen the show yet, now is the time to get caught up before the next season begins; if you've already been caught in the intrigue, it might be time for a refresher course.

The network’s executive vice president of programming, Stephan Shelanski, issued the following statement confirming the news: “After careful consideration, we’ve decided not to continue on with subsequent seasons of Party Down and Gravity. We’re grateful to everyone involved in the shows, and are proud to have had them on the channel. Starz remains committed to aggressively expanding our original programming lineup.”

Showtime's Weeds is hitting the road in a Winnebago when it returns for its sixth season on August 16. And while that means longtime favorite Elizabeth Perkins will no longer be seen as neighbor Celia, lead character Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker) will not be traveling solo. Hunter Parrish, who plays Nancy's eldest child Silas, tells me, "Nancy would never leave her family behind so we're all on the run together. We pick up and move states. It's cool to see this family outside of their world."

Expect to see different locales in each episode. "We've only had one consistent set in the nine out of thirteen episodes we've shot so far," says the actor, referencing the family's new mobile (and cramped!) quarters. "We're filming on location a lot."

Sharing Mary-Louise's sadness over Elizabeth's departure, Hunter admits, "It's so hard. I love Elizabeth and thought her character was amazing and almost essential to the show, so I was surprised. It will be totally different this year, but we have to keep moving to stay fresh. And to be true to that, some people can't come."

There will be at least one returning face with Jennifer Jason Leigh reprising her role as Nancy's older sister Jill, though the character will be seen apart from the Botwins. "We didn't get to have any scenes with her," says Hunter. "She shot her own thing which turns out to be a pivotal part of our storyline."

Unfortunately, the family's on-the-road adventure doesn't provide his character much of a chance for love. "In one episode I branch off for a bit and meet a girl, but then of course Nancy gets in trouble and I get whisked off," says Hunter.

Also look for Nancy to be upgrading her illegal operation. After years of rolling commonplace pot, the inventive mom will be manufacturing hash. Don't know the difference? Hunter does.

"We have a whole new process this year," he says. "I have done my research for the show, ahem, so I can tell you that there is a different process in making hash. You don't need the butt. With hash, you can just use the trimmings — and it's a lot more intense!"

Sounds like that'll be true for this entire trippy season!

Thanks to ilenya for the heads up.

To help explain how the villainous Paul Young is a free man and back living on Wisteria Lane after being sent away for murder, ABC's Desperate Housewives has called upon Frasier alum Harriet Sansom Harris to appear again on screen as wicked Felicia Tilman. "We are definitely going to show Harriet on the show," a source confirms to me exclusively. "We will be using her to clarify how Paul got out of jail."

As I understand it, Harriet's reappearance will be brief compared to Mark Moses, whose Paul is back full time as the new renter of Mike and Susan's Wisteria Lane home. Felicia, a nurse of questionable character, arrived in Fariview back in 2005 to avenge Paul's murder of her sister, Martha Huber and has not been seen since 2006. Ultimately, Paul was convicted not of Mrs. Huber's murder, but of the murder of Felicia, who faked her own demise — going so far as to sever her own finger to plant as Exhibit #1. "Felicia set him up and then disappeared," reminds Mark. "She succeeded. But if he got out of prison, I think we can assume the reason is that he was no longer found guilty — because his victim isn't dead."

My guess is that Paul used his new wife, Beth, who first made contact with Paul while he was still incarcerated, to expose Felicia's demented scheme. But Beth may have gotten more than she bargained for. "I'm not sure she realized when she married him that he'd actually get out, because usually this type of woman marries convicts who are in prison for life," Mark says. "So life could now hold all sorts of surprises for them both."

And how might Paul's dead wife, Mary Alice Young, who lives on as the show's all-knowing narrator, react to her widower's remarriage? "I don't know how they react in the hereafter, but she'll probably be sort of wistful, not vengeful," Mark believes. "I think when you're up in the heavens, you view life in a very detached, humorous way."

Mark's return could prove a fitting bookend to fans should the series see its original cast of Housewives (who have yet to sign contracts for an eighth season) depart Wisteria Lane at the end of this upcoming seventh year. "I had lunch with (series creator) Mark Cherry who gave me an idea of some of the fun stuff he wants Paul to do," says Mark. "It's going to be a great run and very interesting to see which of the housewives still think Paul's guilty and which won't. And just why is he coming back to Wisteria Lane?"

Yep, he's hatching a plot! Let's just hope no one loses a finger this time.

David Morrissey, who appeared in the 2008 Who Christmas special, is favourite to replace him at 4/1.

Do you think Matt will leave? If so who would you like to replace him?

A&E GREENLIGHTS NEW ORIGINAL DRAMA SERIES “BREAKOUT KINGS” FROM FOX 21 AND CHERNIN ENTERTAINMENT

NEW YORK, NY – June 29, 2010 – A&E Network has picked up the new original drama series, “Breakout Kings” from Fox 21 and Chernin Entertainment. The network has ordered 13 one-hour episodes which will go into production this fall in Toronto for a 2011 premiere on A&E. The announcement was made today by Bob DeBitetto, President and General Manager of A&E and BIO Channel.

From Matt Olmstead and Nick Santora, creators of the hit series “Prison Break,” comes “Breakout Kings,” a new action-packed ensemble drama following an unconventional partnership between the U.S. Marshals’ office and a group of convicts as they work to catch fugitives on the run.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with accomplished talents such as Matt and Nick, as well as Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope; with phenomenal track records of success,” said DeBitetto. “As soon as we screened the ‘Breakout Kings’ pilot, it struck us as the perfect fit for A&E as the network of ‘Real Life. Drama.’”

“‘Breakout Kings’ is a labor of love for everyone at the studio, and Bob and his team immediately recognized its enormous potential,” commented Twentieth Century Fox Television Chairmen Gary Newman and Dana Walden, who also oversee Fox 21. “We’ve been in business with Matt and Nick since their incredible work on ‘Prison Break’ and we are certain this show will thrive on A&E, which is known for quality, groundbreaking programming.”

Driven by the fact that there are few things more dangerous than a prisoner who has just escaped, and tired of following protocol and resorting to outdated methods of law enforcement, veteran U.S. Marshals Charlie Duchamp (Laz Alonso, “Avatar,” “The Fast and the Furious”) and Ray Zancanelli (Domenick Lombardozzi, “The Wire,” “Entourage”) are taking an unorthodox approach to their work: using former fugitives to catch fugitives.

Charlie and Ray form a special task force composed of the three most elusive convicts Ray ever captured: a former child prodigy and behaviorist/psychiatric expert who dabbles in psychoanalysis (Jimmi Simpson, “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” “Late Show with David Letterman”);, an ex-gang-banger who knows how to work the system – both in prison and on the street (Malcolm Goodwin, “American Gangster”); and a sexy expert in breaking and entering (casting TBD). Charlie and Ray also employ the services of a civilian who acts as the “funnel” for the group – all information, tips and data go through her (Brooke Nevin, “Worst Week”). With each fugitive they apprehend, the closer they get to earning their own freedom. Will the Breakout Kings wait that long for a payoff, or will they try to score by going on the run themselves?

“Breakout Kings” is a production of Fox 21 and Chernin Entertainment. The series is created, written and executive-produced by Matt Olmstead (“Prison Break”) and Nick Santora (“Prison Break”). Peter Chernin, Katherine Pope and Gavin Hood (“X-Men Origins: Wolverine”) also serve as executive producers. Hood directed the pilot.

Will Bailey's boyfriend Ben be back next season on Grey's Anatomy? — Sheena
ADAM: Jason George's role on Off the Map, Shonda Rhimes' midseason show, doesn't necessarily mean the end of Bailey's romance, according to Chandra Wilson. Whatever happens, she says the relationship is important for Bailey's growth. "How many of us go through long-term relationships that end and then you have to sit there and figure out what to do now?" Wilson says. "That's her journey. ... It was about that discovery and how it will change her personality."

Any scoop on the new season of Glee? — Amy
MICKEY: Jayma Mays tells us how she heard that John Stamos had been cast to play a dentist/Emma's love interest. "I got a text message from a friend and all it said was: 'Uncle Jesse?'" she recalls with a laugh. The season finale set up a pretty clear love triangle among Mr. Schu, Emma and Dr. Teeth, but what if it's actually a square? The cutie-pie clean freak may be getting competition on all fronts from Jessalyn Gilsig's dastardly Terri.

What have you heard about next season of NCIS: Los Angeles? — Trent
ADAM: The team is getting some extra help: Look for them to sign on a tomboy-ish intelligence analyst who often speaks before she thinks. But she's also unflappable in a crisis.

How long will Mike and Susan live away from Wisteria Lane on Desperate Housewives? — Lacey
MICKEY: It's going to be for most of the season, which isn't encouraging. We've all seen how the show's momentum suffers when the ladies are split up for too long. On the upside, one of Susan's new neighbors will make her a surprising job offer. It suggests that Karl's will and Julie Benz's story line may just have been clever foreshadowing.

Is it July 25 yet? I need Mad Men scoop! — Jackson
ADAM: Why would Matt Weiner be adding a political operative to the cast? Is Betty's beau running for office? Is Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce working on another political campaign? Hit the comments with your guesses.

How will they explain Steve Carell's departure from The Office? — Lowell
MICKEY: Well, obviously it's still very early, but our mole tells us that one plan reunites Michael with his "soupsnake," Holly, over the course of Carell's final season and then transfers them both back to Nashua. Here's the interesting part: In this scenario, nobody would replace Carell in the cast. Instead, the already large and talented ensemble would step up to fill the void, with Jim and Dwight's back-and-forth taking center stage. But maybe talented British actor Ricky Gervais is available?

What can you tell me about USA's new show Covert Affairs? — Wyatt
ADAM: Coyote Ugly's Piper Perabo stars as CIA trainee Annie Walker, whose instincts in the field help her earn an early promotion. But she's also not afraid to use her feminine wiles, as she does in the first episode, when she poses as a hooker. The show premieres Tuesday, July 13 at 10/9c.

Will we ever seen Johnny Drama act again on Entourage? — Charlie
MICKEY: No Viking Quest clips are forthcoming, and neither is any new work. Executive producer Doug Ellin tells us that this season will be about Drama's arduous quest for gainful employment, which Ellin finds far more entertaining.

So glad Rescue Me is back, but you've got to tell me who besides Tommy will end up in the hospital? — Denise
ADAM: I'll let the actor in question tell you. "There's a whole story line that comes up about Lou not taking care of himself as best he should," John Scurti tells us. "There's a price to pay for his love of cigars and martinis and beautiful women and food."

Will Debbie Pelt be as crazy on HBO's True Blood as she was in the books? — Tommy
MICKEY: I'm hearing yes, but not initially. Brit Morgan's debut will be somewhat restrained, and her character's quick temper and jealous streak will unveil themselves gradually. But once they do, watch out. "I'm going on a rampage against Sookie," Morgan tells us. "I'm not too happy with her."

Anything cool coming up on The Good Guys? — Kyle
ADAM: How about a Homer Simpson cameo? Dan Castellaneta, who voices the Simpson patriarch, will play a bank robber with whom Bradley Whitford's Detective Stark has some history. The episode has an Ocean's Eleven vibe; the heists are never what they seem.

I can't wait for the new season of White Collar — where will it pick up? — Whitney
MICKEY: We'll see that plane explode once more, but then there will be a time jump that allows Neal to move on fairly quickly from Kate's death — yes, I said death. Plus: Diana (Lost's Marsha Thomason) is back!

Updated Brackets HERE

Day 10: So we are one day into round 2 and we suddenly have a real shock contender for pushing to the latter stages of the competition. Glee earned over 2000 votes today alone for an 81% smashing of Veronica Mars, which never even looked like competing. As of today, only one other show has achieved 2000+ votes, and that's that one about an island and a plane crash. Don't remember the name. I still don't expect Glee to win, but it seems mighty popular, and found a big fan base voting for it today, so you never know. In the other battle, The Office saw off Arrested Development relatively comfortably with 64% of the votes, and should be a worthy competitor to Glee in Round 3.

Today is a big day. The overall biggest day of round 1 featured the shows up for voting for today, and it's going to be a thriller. Perhaps the record for most votes in a poll (currently standing at 3644) could be smashed today. We have Joss Whedon's Firefly, which brilliantly saw off popular action-thriller 24 in round one, taking on J.J.Abram's Fringe, which saw off the huge online fan-base of Legend of the Seeker in the second highest voted poll so far. That's gonna be huge. Also today we have the critically acclaimed The Wire taking on Buffy Slayer, The Mentalist in round 2. I for one was surprised to see Buffy be beaten so early, it was very popular in the nomination stage, and so The Wire has it's work cut out today. So if your fans of any of today's shows, you have to spread the word. Get the votes in. It's all that counts. At least then you can complain if your votes doesn't get through. Make it count. Let the battles begin!

Firefly vs. Fringe
Firefly

Seasons: 1 (Finished)
Previous Results: R1. WON vs. 24 (51.19%)
Format: Space Western/Drama
Synopsis: The series is set in the year 2517, after the arrival of humans in a new star system, and follows the adventures of the renegade crew of Serenity, a "Firefly-class" spaceship. The ensemble cast portrays the nine characters who live on Serenity. Whedon pitched the show as "nine people looking into the blackness of space and seeing nine different things". The show explores the lives of people who fought on the losing side of a civil war who now make a living on the outskirts of the society, as part of the pioneer culture that exists on the fringes of their star system. In addition, it is a future where the only two surviving superpowers, the United States and China, fused to form the central federal government, called the Alliance, resulting in the fusion of the two cultures as well. According to Whedon's vision, "nothing will change in the future: technology will advance, but we will still have the same political, moral, and ethical problems as today."

Fringe

Seasons: 2 (Ongoing)
Previous Results: R1. WON vs. Legend of the Seeker (54.32%)
Format: Science Fiction/Thriller/Horror/Drama
Synopsis: The series follows a Federal Bureau of Investigation "Fringe Division" team based in Boston, Massachusetts under the supervision of Homeland Security. The team uses unorthodox "fringe" science and FBI investigative techniques to investigate "the Pattern", a series of unexplained, often ghastly occurrences that are happening all over the world. The show has been described as a hybrid of The X-Files, Altered States, The Twilight Zone, and Dark Angel.

Fringe is one of the few shows I can think of that actually succeeds in achieving a balance between the various story elements. It has a little bit of everything: drama, suspense, emotion, humour, science fiction, character development… you name it. In a word, Fringe is brilliant. The stories are intriguing and engaging, the acting is top of the line, the characters are people you can relate to, and the quality of each episode is simply amazing. It’s a show that makes you think, without getting too complicated or overwhelmed in its own story and it provides real answers in a timely manner. For those who love to dissect every episode and analyze all the clues and themes, there is more than enough to keep you busy. On the other hand, those who simply want to watch the show from week to week without thinking about it in between can do that and still enjoy it and be entertained. Fringe is as good as it gets. If you have ever wondered if you should watch Fringe, I would highly recommend it because, odds are, you’ll love it and will wonder why it took you so long to start watching.

The Wire vs. The Mentalist
The Wire

Seasons: 5 (Finished)
Previous Results: R1. WON vs. It's always Sunny in Philadelphia (66.55%)
Format: Drama
Synopsis: Each season of The Wire focuses on a different facet of the city of Baltimore. They are, in order: the illegal drug trade, the port system, the city government and bureaucracy, the school system, and the print news media. The large cast consists mainly of character actors who are little known for their other roles. Simon has said that despite its presentation as a crime drama, the show is "really about the American city, and about how we live together. It's about how institutions have an effect on individuals, and how whether you're a cop, a longshoreman, a drug dealer, a politician, a judge or a lawyer, you are ultimately compromised and must contend with whatever institution you've committed to."

The Mentalist

Seasons: 2 (Ongoing)
Format: Police Procedural/Drama
Synopsis: It follows the story of Patrick Jane, who aids the California Bureau of Investigation in homicide investigations with unorthodox ways.
User Reviews:
arun279
The series' idea came to Bruno Heller, as he says, when he was driving around one day and found that there are psychics on almost every street. Bruno Heller who was not a believer of the idea thought it was interesting that so many people make a living out of this. The popular psychics sometimes really do have some interesting skills. This coupled with Heller's intention to create a show that is more positive than his previous show resulted in the creation of the show we know today as, The Mentalist.
The Mentalist is about Patrick Jane who is now a consultant to the California Bureau of Investigation- CBI (whose real life counter-part merged with another agency in 2007 to become, Bureau of Investigation and Intelligence [BII]). Patrick Jane was once a child psychic in a carnival and later went on to become more popular making TV appearances and giving private readings to high profile clients. Jane, of course, faked his psychic abilities. But he has finely honed skills in cold reading, hypnotism, pick-pocketing, as well as powerful skills of observation and a deep insight into the human psyche and behavior. When Jane talks about a ruthless, elusive serial killer on a talk-show, he inadvertently infuriated the killer who went on to teach Jane a lesson by murdering his family. This puts Jane on a path of redemption. He quits his psychic business, accepts that he was faking his abilities and begins to help the CBI to catch criminals with only one goal in mind- to catch and kill the person who murdered his family.
He is seen in the series using his mentalist abilities to play elaborate ruses and mind-games to catch the killer. This highly unorthodox methodology is frowned upon by his superiors and other units and sometimes even his own colleagues. But they all tolerate his eccentric behavior and sometimes questionable methods as he has an impeccable track-record of catching criminals.
Patrick Jane, around whom the series revolves, is essentially an easy-going guy who doesn't care for rules and someone who has made a conscious decision to remain positive and happy in life. But we can see his rather dark side whenever the team goes on the trail of Red John- the murderer of his family. We see that he is willing to go to any length, if it means he can catch Red John: threaten people, spy on state agents, break into places, manipulate people and even put himself in grave danger.

Elijah Wood has inked to star opposite Jason Gann in the FX comedy pilot "Wilfred," which is based on an Australian series of the same title.

"Wilfred" marks Wood's first starring role in series television. The "Lord of the Rings" star will play the character Ryan; Gann, who co-created and starred in the Aussie series, will play the title character.

David Zuckerman ("Family Guy," "American Dad," "King of the Hill") wrote the adapted pilot script and serves as executive producer. He described "Wilfred" as a comedy "about a guy (Wood), the girl next door and a mixed-breed dog, Wilfred, who is part Labrador Retriever and part Russell Crowe on a bender."

The pilot will be directed by Randall Einhorn ("The Office," "Parks & Recreation"), and lensing is scheduled to begin this summer.

Other exec producers are Rich Frank, Paul Frank and Jeff Kwatinetz of Prospect Park ("Royal Pains") and Joe Connor and Ken Conner of Renegade, producers of the Aussie version of the comedy. Gann will serve as co-exec producer.

Wood next will be seen this fall in Galt Niederhoffer's "The Romantics" opposite Katie Holmes, Josh Duhamel and Anna Paquin. Wood also has lent his voice to George Miller's "Happy Feet 2," which will be released in 3D in 2012. He's repped by WME and Brillstein Partners.

"Wilfred" is produced by FX Prods.

FX's next comedy series "Louie," starring Louis C.K., was to premiere Wednesday night following the sixth-season bow of "Rescue Me."

As episode four tees up there are some indications we are finally going to begin to get some answers. The show gets a whole lot more depth tonight as we find out at least one of their members are complicit in “the process”

• Persons Unknown
• Credit: NBC

What BEE happening?

The episode opens with Jan catching an Italian honey bee with her bare hands. Janet seems to know a good deal about the bee and that it should not be flying around town, but should be with its hive. Joe immediately kills it, indicating he is severely allergic to bees. It seems a little too obvious that Joe points out his severe allergy to this insect. However, as we later come to find out that Joe appears to know what’s going on, we have to question whether he indeed has any allergy or he is just playing his part. The bee incident appears to be another craftily engineered set-up for what will occur later. We are next shown Blackham throwing various items at the force field. Charlie walks up to see that Blackham has baited the area in a sadistic attempt to get a raccoon fried in the force field. Charlie is supposed to be the killer here, but Blackham appears to be the one with the more serious issues. One also has to wonder why these two seem to always be with each other given the events of the last couple weeks. I think the fact that Blackham is baiting the animal is foreshadowing that he will be baiting Charlie as well in this episode.

Moira and McNair (who contribute very little to this episode) are still hanging together, and for some unknown reason she is teaching him sign language. After the shot of Moira and McNair, we see Charlie heading back to the hotel, bickering with Blackham the whole way. Blackham is not all to subtlety letting Charlie’s know that he will spill his guts on his little secret. Blackham is beginning his process of baiting Charlie which will only get worse. As they are just about to fight, our good buddy the night manager starts rapidly ringing the bell. He announces to the group that a telegram was received indicating one of the guests will be shortly checking out.

Did somebody call a cab?

After the night manager’s announcement, the Hotelie’s gather in the lobby to debate the deeper meaning of “check out”. Blackham morbidly points out points out that the term “check out” in the mob is code for a hit. While there is little chance that Blackham was in the mob, he may be right about there being a hit on someone. Also, for the first time since this whole debacle began, Joe is actually reluctant to go on an adventure with Janet. It appears he is purposely trying to discourage her from trying to leave.

Back in the real world, Renbe is casing the park where Janet was abducted. He appears to possess some security photos of her just prior to the abduction. We are shown that the camera that took these images is now gone. Is it just me, or is it odd that the kids in this park always seem to have animal balloons in their hands? Also, there are suspicious guys in blue jumpsuits all around the place. Renbe then gets a phone call that from someone who tells him he is concerned about his safety and doesn’t want anything to happen to him. He tells him he needs to just forget about Janet and go back to his life.

Back in ghost town, everyone gets excited as a beat up taxi pulls up the street. It’s readily apparent that Blackham knows that he is not the one checking out as he is sporting nothing more than a goofy pair of boxers. The driver who pulls up speaks little English and appears to be of Middle Eastern origins. Where did this guy come from? Is he another victim of the watchers who has been promised freedom if he completes some sort of task? Of course, McaNair just so happens to have picked up enough Arabic while in Iraq to understand what this guy is saying. McNair relates to Janet that she can leave and choose anyone else to go with her. Almost expectedly, she chooses a reluctant Joe, who is warned by McNair not to do it. Trying to appear unwilling, Joe gets in the cab and they leave town. Brilliantly, Joe asks the cab driver (who does not know a lick of English) where he is taking them. Of course, he provides no answer

I want out!

Tori is extremely upset that she was not able to escape and we are shown a flashback where we learn that that the secret she has about her father is that he might have been responsible for killing her mother. Tori, believing that her father is the one responsible, pleads her case to the camera telling her father that she is sorry. Tori then hatches a diabolically brilliant and well thought out plan to escape. The plan, get all dolled up in a slinky red dress and see if she can seduce the night manager to get her out of there. After “innocently” getting him to fix her garter, she puts the moves on him trying to get him to succumb to her wiles. This guy is a stone and not only does he not fall for it, he tells her that he cannot give her any assistance. Clearly taken aback, she then asks that he at least deliver a message to her father which she quickly writes out. He weakly indicates he cannot do so, but takes the message anyways.

The scene shifts back to Renbe where he is still roaming in the park area while being harassed by a mime. He then gets another call, this time from Edick. Edick, who is also in the park, nabs back his stolen files and informs Renbe that Gonzalez knows all about him.

We next shift to the taxi cab taking Janet and Joe out of the town as it blows a tire. The cab driver get out and insidiously pulls out a machete from his trunk only to innocently cut up a couple of coconuts for Janet and Joe. As “Abdul” is fixing the tire, an unmarked black semi comes out of nowhere and barrels down at him. “Abdul” just manages to flip him the bird prior to meeting what appears to be a fiery death. So the question here is was the taxi cab driver a player in this game and is he the one who has been “checked out”? Was he supposed to leave both in the cab after the blowout for them to be killed? Was both Janet and Joe, or perhaps all three set for a “check out”?

Getting some Fresh Airrr

With their cab destroyed and no sign of “Abdul”, Joe and Janet begin to walk haphazardly to who knows where. We are next given truly a bizarre scene where Tori actually comes on to Blackham and offers a little fun if he goes up to the room. This is a strange turn of events for someone who has intimacy issues and put the beat-down on Blackham an episode ago. Tori also appears rather certain at this point she is going home. I wonder why? Perhaps she was told if she slept with Blakcham she could leave. Puzzlingly, Blackham actually withstands her advances and leaves her. .

We then see Janet having a probative conversation with Joe about his commitment to leave the town. Joe looks around nervously and gives a very unconvincing performance as to his willingness to get out of their predicament. It almost appears that Janet is testing Joe’s resolve.

Back in the hotel, were back to Blackham and his good buddy Charlie (Chuck by now) discussing Blackham’s ludicrous idea of a franchise of nationwide private parks called Fresh-Airrr. According to Blackham, (in proximity to a safe area for children) would be a special adult’s area with a mini Hooter’s. (In Blackham’s world this likely means that the waitresses are just a little less endowed than your average Hooters girl.) It goes without saying that this is stupidest idea Charlie has heard and he declines the opportunity to invest.

McNair (always seemingly in the right place at the right time) spends a little time then hanging out with Tori who reveals to him that her father basically prostituted her out for his business gains. McNair, always a good listener with lots of advice, still appears to be in on this. McNair convinces her that she can heal from this trauma and that she needs to stay alive to have another chance to be happy. Tori is next seen roaming the town alone crying out to her watchers that she just want to go home.

We find Blackham again bothering Charlie’s about his stupid new business. He also lets him know that he expects him to invest or he is going to blackmail him about murdering his wife. Charlie begins seething as he realizes Blackham is not going to stop with this.

Were back to Janet and Joe, who just happen to find a well furnished cabin in the middle of nowhere. Joe all too quickly suggests they go in and spend the night. They then have a very cozy discussion about their outside lives (or at least Janet does). Joe apparently is only concerned about the seeing Red Sox again and nothing else. Janet then tells Joe she would like him to visit her and San Francisco to meet her daughter. It looks like at this point that Joes efforts to earn Jane trusts (to whatever ends) have started to take hold.

The tests

In our first test, both Janet and Joe wake up the next morning to find that the cabin is filled with bees. This brings us right back to the foreshadowing with at the beginning with the first bee and Joe’s alleged allergy. Joe appears terrified, but also extremely calm for a guy with a severe bee allergy. Janet takes control of the situation and gets herself and Joe out safely. To me this was a carefully calculated set up to create more connections for Janet with Joe.

We next see Renbe in a brief visit with Gonzalez. Gonzalez lets him know that he has a still of him watching his wife the day she was kidnapped and that he knows he is her ex-husband. Later, Renbe returns to his office where he tells his boss girlfriend all about his wife and that he needs her help. She is definitely not pleased.

Back in the hotel, we get test number two as Blackham is again taunting Charlie, almost purposely with this foolhardy idea. Charlie looses it and begins to smother him just like he did with his wife. Before Blackham falls unconscious, Charlie pulls back showing he is not a cold blooded killer. Blackham is purposely baiting Charlie in order to get this reaction, just as he baited the toasted possum. However, it appears that Charlie stops short of giving Blackham what he wants.

Say it ain’t so Joe.

After walking for countless hours (just like with their escape attempt in the Van) Janet and Joe end up right back in the town. While Janet does not want to go back, Joe convinces her they have no alternative. He then promises he will get her out as he tries to convince her there will be another chance.

They walk right back into the Hotel with no one really appearing surprised that they are back. Janet is fully broken down at this point and also shows that she now completely trusts Joe as she asks him to stay with her in her room. Mission accomplished for Joe.

Another cab shows up in the town and Tori gets in, apparently making her exit from the ghost town. Is she truly free? Will she be killed (while trapped in the cab) by the mysterious roaming black Semi? Was her father the one really behind this?

In the final moments, Joe heads over to the Chinese restaurant for the big reveal. After specifically asking for the 47 Okra special, the Chinese worker escorts him to a secret back room. He is then chastised by him and told he has breached protocol. We finally now know for sure that Joe is definitely part of what is going on here. His compatriot wants to know what the heck is going on with him and if he is choosing to withdraw. When Joe indicates he is not withdrawing, the fellow watcher states that if he believes in the process he has to accept its results. The question now is has Janet really turned the table on Joe to where he is now doubting the process? Lets hope for her sake that she has.

Thoughts

I believe we can scratch off Aliens from the likely culprits, as we now know that Joe and some of the other “workers” are in on this. I believe that Joe is also not the only one of our seven to be in on it. I find it interesting that each Hotelie (other than Tori) seem to be paired up with someone:

Moira & McNair
Charlie & Blackham
Janet & Joe

I think that McNair, Blackham and Joe are all part of a group who partly know what is going on and their assignment is to either go through a process or bring these individuals (they are paired up) with through a process. However, while we may find out that they are behind what is going on, we may also find out that they were kidnapped in a prior group and graduated up one level. They are now in charge of taking the next group of newly kidnapped people through the process. While they may have gained some knowledge from their prior walkthrough, they really do not know more than the others and are doing what they need to in order to get out of this place. We may find that like peels on an onion there are others behind the curtain even beyond Joe and whoever else appears to be in on this.

The upcoming second season of Stargate Universe will expand upon the show’s mythology, giving viewers new insights on just why the Ancients set the Destiny on a pre-programmed course millions of years ago.

Among those insights is the fact that the ship isn’t just allowing its reluctant crew from Earth to explore the unknown, but that it is also going somewhere in particular.

SCI FI PI reports that “the Destiny has a destination of cosmic importance,” according to an upcoming interview with executive producer Brad Wright — “so important that it overshadows the desire for the crew to get home, and that by fulfilling this new mission, it may in fact allow them to get home.”

Stargate Universe executive producers Brad Wright and Rob Cooper have revealed that the show's characters will be put "through the wringer" in the upcoming second season.

According to SFX, Cooper revealed that Everett Young, played by Louis Ferreira, will "feel some pain" in the new episodes. He explained: "After everything he’s been through - and it gets worse for him initially at the beginning of season two - it’s impossible to imagine that a person wouldn’t go to a very dark place at least for a short period of time.”

Fellow producer Wright continued: "When you try to adopt a more realistic tone, where frankly we don’t win every time, then there have to be real world repercussions like death and injury and loss. You can dig deeper into characters and the deeper you dig the repercussions can get bigger. We are going to some places with these characters, and already have really, that we would never go with the heroes of our other series.”

‘Psych’s Shawn Spencer (played by James Roday) will meet his match – and then some – when ‘Lost‘ alum Nestor Carbonell joins the USA Network series for a multi-episode arc, Fancast has learned exclusively.

Carbonell has been cast in the role of Declan Rand, a criminal profiler who over the course of two episodes will shape up to be Shawn’s professional – as well as romantic – rival.

So savvy is Declan at what he does, I am told, that Gus (Dule Hill) will dub him “Shawn 2.0.” Gus!

How will Shawn react to being one-upped by this “upgrade”? Or might Shawn 2.0 be harboring a few… glitches?

Prior to playing ‘Lost’s ageless Richard Alpert, Carbonell enjoyed roles on such TV series as ‘The Tick,’ ‘Strong Medicine’ and ‘Suddenly Susan.’ His big-screen credits meanwhile include ‘The Dark Knight.’

Season 5 of USA’s ‘Psych’ premieres on July 14.

In my last post I dissected the whole Ben Linus-Danielle Rousseau Sideways storyline, and while I stand by the bulk of my post, Michael Emerson's recent comments on EW's Totally Lost have given me some food for further thought which I want to address briefly.

While Emerson's not a show writer, as the actor portraying Ben (and as a guy who seems to be as much of a Lost fanboy as the rest of us), I do think his opinions carry a bit of weight. To get lawyerly on you-- his ideas aren't controlling authority, but they're at least instructive.

The sitcom "Mad Love" toplining Jason Biggs, Sarah Chalke, Judy Greer and Tyler Labine, has been ordered by CBS for midseason. The half-hour revolves around a quartet of single friends in New York City -- two who are falling in love and two who despise each other, at least initially.

Matt Tarses and Jamie Tarses are the executive producers for Sony Pictures Entertainment in association with CBS Television Studios. Pamela Fryman directed the pilot.

It’s official: Mitch Pileggi is returning to Supernatural as Sam and Dean’s presumed-dead grandpa — and not for some one-off guest stint. As I first teased in Ask Ausiello, the X-Files vet will appear on a recurring basis throughout season 6.

“I’m a longtime fan of Mitch’s work,” gushes executive producer/new showrunner Sera Gamble. “And we all thought he did an amazing job the first time around, so we’re excited he was game to [return].”

What brings Gramps back? “For one thing, he’s a Campbell — from Sam and Dean’s mom’s side of the family,” reminds Gamble, “which, unlike their dad’s, has actually been into hunting for a very long time. There’s a whole side of Sam and Dean’s history that they know nothing about. We’ll get to find out a bit about it this season.”

In other Supe news, the show is on the prowl for an actor in his late-30s to mid-40s to play the recurring role of Christian. Described as “capable, calm under pressure, and very good at his job,” Christian has a special relationship to Sam and Dean.

Thoughts on who this Christian character is? And are you pumped for the return of Pileggi? Hit the comments!

After three episodes that felt relatively similar in atmosphere and plot, Persons Unknown changes the pace with “Exit One.” Instead of watching the hostages come up with an escape plan, and be disappointed when it inevitably fails, some of the hostages are actually offered a chance to leave. But in this crazy deserted town, things are just never that easy…

Thanks ilenya for the heads up.

I have my doubts about Cary working for the State’s Attorney’s Office on ‘The Good Wife,’ that they can make the story work longer than a few episodes. I don’t want them to drop Matt Czuchry after half of the season. Do you have any information? – Jess_No10 via Twitter
This Matt urges you not to fret about the other Matt. “Czuchry’s fans have nothing to worry about,” a source at the show tells me. “His storyline is going to really heat up this season.”

Is Sosie Bacon coming back to ‘The Closer’? I loved her last season! – Mooshki via Facebook
I loved her too – a real natural, and such a resemblance to her folks, Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon. As of right now, however, I am told there are no plans for Brenda’s niece Charlie to pay a return visit.

Got any ‘Psych’ spoilers? – legendsinlove via Twitter
And how! Check out this peek at the July 13 season premiere, straight from series boss Steve Franks: “Shawn goes deep into a Chinese triad gang war, and shooting the episode was more fun than we should be allowed to have. I’ve always wanted to do some sort of Jackie Chan-style action and we hit the jackpot here. After that, Shawn won’t have much time to catch his breath as he has fast cars to race and UFO landings to investigate.”

Can’t CBS just not do the ‘Criminal Minds’ spin-off, and use that money to keep A.J. Cook around? We don’t need a carbon copy of the show anyway. – Lauri
A lot of viewers have had that thought, but that’s not how it works – the two shows don’t share a pool of money. And ‘Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior’ (as it apparently will stay titled) won’t simply be a replica of the original. Rather, measures are being taken to give it a distinct feel, a la ‘CSI’ and ‘CSI: Miami,’ or ‘NCIS’/'NCIS: LA.’ Bringing on Janeane Garofalo is just (admittedly curious) one step in that direction.

The room that Patrick Jane went into at the end of the ‘Mentalist’ season finale – was that his wife/daughter’s old room, someplace new, or…? – jmorgue via Twitter
We’ve seen that room on occasion. It’s one at his home that he keeps to remind himself about what happened with Red John.

I saw this tweet from Bryan Adams: “Message to Ryan Murphy/Glee: Please stop telling the press I rejected your show, when we’ve NEVER spoken. Be polite and pick up the phone.” Can you find out the real story? – Kimberley via Facebook
Thanks for the heads-up, Kimbers; I do need to Follow more Canadians on Twitter. I invited Fox to offer clarification on this ‘Glee’ Said/He Said dispute – seeing as Murphy is on record as saying, “My favorite rejection was Bryan Adams” – but they are declining to comment. My theory? Poutine.

Can you let us know your thoughts on the new season of ‘Entourage,’ without revealing too much? – Jeff via Facebook
By now, you’ve seen the premiere, which IMO was a bit thin. The good word is that Episode 2 has a lot more going on, including Ari in blockbuster deal mode, which is always one of my favorite elements of the show. P.S. How much fun does the show’s casting director have choosing the female extras? I am so in the wrong line of work.

Let me know how you like ‘Outsourced.’ The promo looks funny, but sometimes all the funny scenes are in the promo. – MarkyMarc70 via Twitter
I’ll say this for the NBC comedy: Few pilots have ever been as efficient in establishing their premise. Seriously, it’s like Whoosh-Bam! Middle American dude gets plopped in his company’s call center in India. The pilot was “fine,” but this show can only be assessed once it gets the painfully obvious culture clash jokes out of its system and starts exploring the characters in a real way. On a related note, check out our First Looks at the pilots for ‘Mike & Molly,’ ‘Nikita‘ and ‘Hawaii Five-O.’

I was wondering if you could clear something up for me. Is the new ‘Camelot’ series on Starz ongoing or is it a mini-series? – Scott
I double-checked for you, and ‘Camelot’ – starring Joseph Fiennes (as Merlin), Eva Green (Morgana), Jamie Campbell Bower (Arthur) and Tamsin Egerton (Guinevere) – is a closed-end, 10-episode series, set to premiere in early 2011.

I cannot wait for ‘Covert Affairs’ to premiere. I love me some Chris Gorham! Is there any scoop to be had yet? – Daphne
How about this: Liane Balaban, who starred opposite Joshua Jackson in ‘One Week,’ has landed the guest star role of Natasha Petrovna, a beautiful, Saint Petersburg-bred hacker who happens to be the ex-girlfriend of Gorham’s CIA agent character, Auggie. Awk. Ward.

Do you have any scoop on ‘Bones’? – Nera
Only that “The Gorilla In The Room” – as tweeted by show boss Hart Hanson – is not for certain locked in as the title of the season premiere, despite reports you may have seen elsewhere.

Thanks to ilenya for the heads up.

Here’s some news that will be music to Entourage fans’ ears: Eminem and Christina Aguilera are among the guest stars appearing in the HBO comedy’s season 7 finale, EW.com has learned. The rapper, who released Recovery last week, shot a scene that takes place “at a platinum record party for his album, which by the time this airs will be platinum, I’m sure,” says Entourage creator Doug Ellin, adding: “He has a little conflict—a little beef—with Vince [Adrian Grenier].” While Eminem won’t be performing in the episode, Aguilera will. Like Eminem, the singer plays herself—but she’s also a client of Ari. “She’s doing Ari a favor and performing at a party for him,” Ellin tells EW.com. The Sept. 12 episode, which Ellin hints is a “pretty dramatic season finale,” also features Minka Kelly (whom Vince has his eye on) and John Cleese, as well as pro athletes such as Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees, Phillies All-Star first baseman Ryan Howard, and NBA players Jordan Farmar and Kevin Love.
