Whilst we are in the process of rolling out our own Show Specific Twitter Feeds. A number of people have emailed me asking if they can create their own, here is a little guide that I found that you can use to either
Create your own Custom Show(s) Twitter Feed
or
Send out Show Specific Tweets on your Own account.
For those technical minded or those that like a challenge follow these steps. If you get stuck, don't hesitate in asking away in the comments.
Create your own Custom Show(s) Twitter Feed
If you already have a Twitter account and want to follow a particular show(s) then follow these steps
A) Create a New Twitter Account. Call it something like MySTV_showname (where showname is the name of the show that you want to follow. You can call it anything you like)
B) Now follow the guide here . When you get to steps 2)/3) in the guide. You need to use the RSS of the show that you want to use. The RSS Feeds for spoilertv are in this format.
http://www.spoilertv.com/feeds/posts/default/-/showname
eg
http://www.spoilertv.com/feeds/posts/default/-/House
http://www.spoilertv.com/feeds/posts/default/-/Supernatural
http://www.spoilertv.com/feeds/posts/default/-/True%20Blood
Notice for shows with a space eg True Blood, replace the space with %20 eg
Men of a Certain Age's feed will become
http://www.spoilertv.com/feeds/posts/default/-/Men%20of%20a%20Certain%20Age
C) Continue to follow the guide here and
D) Repeat the Process from Step B) above to add additional shows to your account.
E) You should now have a new twitter account that you can follow on your own personal account.
Send out Show Specific Tweets on your Own account
This is for people who want to send out Tweets on their own personal account automatically when new show(s) info gets posted on SpoilerTV.
Follow the exact same process as above but instead of creating a new Twitter Account simply link it to your existing account. ie Don't do step A) from the above instructions.
