Day 12: So after the huge numbers who voted for Fringe the day before, yesterday was a majorly quiet day for the shows involved, perhaps a foreshadowing that all the shows may not have the support to go all the way. One thing is for certain, this is the first day no poll has no broken the 1000 vote mark. Perhaps the absence of critically acclaimed The Sopranos and Breaking Bad, both beaten by shows today has a negative reaction from other fans, but both Smallville and Stargate waivered, and Smallville grinded through to make Round 3, along with Dexter, a show that found it a lot easier today than against Bones, but with a significant drop in votes.
Today we also have a few shows that unexpectedly found their way into the next round. Firstly we have The Vampire Diaries, which surprisingly saw off 20 seasons + animated comedy The Simpsons fairly comfortably, and so on paper should be expected to see off one of the few goldie oldie shows left in the draw, that being The Twilight Zone. Also, in the most surprising second round matchup, we have Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip vs. Flashforward. On paper, I had True Blood vs. Friends in this matchup, and both being eliminated at the first hurdle was a major surprise, so today, I have no idea which way this would sway, as the critically and commercially panned Flashforward continues to surprise. Some would claim it does not deserve a place in the competition at all, and so for it to make round 3 would be majorly controversial, but Studio 60, despite having more love critically also struggled to find an audience. Let the battles commence, It's gonna be close.

Synopsis: The series follows the life of Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev), who falls in love with vampire Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley). The series also focuses on the lives of Elena's friends and other inhabitants of the fictional town of Mystic Falls, Virginia. The series is a mix of teen drama and the supernatural.
