Can you believe it?

Dollhouse and star Eliza Dushku are returning to TV next year in one of the miracle rescues of this TV season! Speaking of miracles, can someone please figure out a way to keep Miracle Laurie in the mix? It's not really going to be the same show without Mellie/November. (And yeah, that's a spoiler alert if you haven't seen Dollhouse yet. Catch up, willya?)

Press play see Eliza's thank you to the fans, and learn why and how she'll be getting even closer to Tahmoh Penikett's Paul Ballard next season.

Last but not least, please post your thank yous to Fox in the comments for making this bet on Joss Whedon!

STORY LINE: Shawn and Gus investigate the spectral goings-on in the tourist trap of Sonora, a town where actors re-create the Wild West -- and someone or something is gunning for SHERIFF HANK MENDEL...

[SHERIFF HANK MENDEL] Late 50s to Late 70s, a Wild West Sheriff, stubborn, proud, tough and rugged, Hank is long past his prime, but still commands a striking presence in his 1870s-era garb: Stetson, boots, duster, pearl handled revolver and tin star. The owner-operator of Sonora, a tourist trap in the boonies, Hank gets up every morning and pretends to be a Sheriff, gunning down outlaws in the dusty main street of town. An old codger who is Lassiter's surrogate father, and who talks like a grizzled old rider of the prairie, Hank is worried when his ratty pasteboard town appears to be under siege by the legendary Ghost Rider of Sonora. But when Hank gets wounded and his business rival is killed, it's time for some real lawmen to investigate the crime (real lawmen aided by a fake psychic)...LEAD (7) LOOKING FOR RECOGNIZABLE NAMES

[STINKY PETE DILLINGHAM] Late 30s to 50, the town outlaw in Sonora, Stinky Pete is another of Hank's employees; every day, whenever tourists show up, he guns it out with Sheriff Hank and bites the dust on Main Street. But Stinky Pete is an outlaw in his real life as well: having discovered a profitable vein of gold in an abandoned mine (on Hank's property), Pete's been working the mine and taking steps to ensure that nobody (like Frank McBain) develops the property. A killer, an arsonist and a greedhead, Pete winds up shooting it out on main Street for real -- with a gun-toting, vindictive Lassiter...5 lines, 4 scenes (7)

• Former Battlestar Galactica toasters Tricia Helfer and Michael Hogan are staying in Sci Fi's orbit, signing on to guest star on the net's new paranormal dramedy Warehouse 13 (premiering July 7). Helfer will play a Chicago-based FBI agent, while Hogan has been cast as the father of Warehouse heroine Myka (Joanne Kelly). In a fun little twist, Hogan's real-life wife, Susan, will play the role of Myka's mom. And if that's not enough BSG for you, Mark Sheppard (who portrayed the Fleet's morally flexible lawyer, Romo Lampkin) will appear as enigmatic figure who represents the organization that controls the Warehouse.

• Everwood's Sarah Drew -- whose ABC pilot Inside the Box didn't make the cut for fall -- is taking the crazy train over to Fox's Glee. Sources confirm that the actress has landed the role of Suzy Pepper, an unstable senior who develops an obsessively creepy crush on her teacher. Drew is booked for one episode, but I hear there's recurring potential.

• Rumer Willis is having a baby! At least she'll be pretending to have one on The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Bruce and Demi's actress-offspring will play a pregnant teen in an episode to air in mid-August. Secret Life's second season gets underway June 22.

• It sounds like the third season of Greek will be quite the religious experience. The show is casting the roles of a Mary-Elyse, a flirty Catholic girl who tries to recruit Cappie and Dale, and Pastor Dan, a laid-back minister who helps Dale get over his guilt issues. Season 3 kicks off Aug. 31.

The creators of NBC's Chuck aren't about to let the audience forget about the show during its long hiatus until midseason—they're planning some kind of Web presence, said Chuck executive producer and co-creator Chris Fedak.

"We're talking to NBC now about what is going to be the super-clever idea to kind of bridge that time. It is going to be something on the Internet to keep fan awareness alive and remind people about the show," Fedak told SCI FI Wire in an exclusive phone interview.

Fedak added that Chuck, which was picked up for midseason by NBC, may appear sooner than the expected March 2010.

Chuck is set to air in its same timeslot, on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT. That's good news for fans who lobbied NBC and key sponsor Subway for the show's renewal. But with Chuck's third season planned to premiere in March 2010, that's a very long wait. "We're excited to launch after the Winter Olympics and to launch also with NBC's other new show [Day One]. But schedules aren't written in stone for a reason. So you never know. Maybe you'll see us sooner than that," Fedak said.

One thing the producers will be faced with in the new season is a smaller budget. "Across the board in television this year there's been a contraction in regard that every show has had to find ways to lower their budgets," he said. "And then [creator] Josh [Schwartz] and I, we have a really an excellent production department here at Chuck, and we've made changes to the show. But essentially we're committed to delivering a show like the show last year, and the changes we're making will not impact the quality of the show. We've also, after two seasons of making the show, we've gotten better at it, just from a production perspective, and we find the efficiencies and just learning how we tell our stories."

Another factor will be the presence of Subway in the show in some way, thanks to NBC's deal with the sandwich chain. How will that presence work? "We're still in the early stages of figuring that out," Fedak said.

The show will resume production this summer. "We're actually just getting back up and running with our writers," Fedak said. "So I am knee-deep in the writers' room, working on story, kind of cutting into how we're going to tell this epic season of Chuck. ... We have some really fun, super-exciting stories up on the board, and we can't wait to tell them."

Asked about specifics, Fedak isn't too forthcoming. "You're getting nothing out of me," he said, adding: "Do you know what Schwartz would do to me if I give you anything? Mum is the word at the moment."

Maybe just a tiny, little detail? What about the teaser from a recent interview with Schwartz that there might be a romantic interest who would come between Sarah and Chuck? "Crickets. That's what you get from me. You're getting crickets on this one," Fedak said.

The one thing that isn't a secret is that the producers plan for the entire cast to return, he said. As for adding new characters, "We will be, but you're not going to get that out of me, I don't think," he said.

Expect a more physical Chuck (Zachary Levi), considering that he acquired new kung fu abilities after downloading the new Intersect. "Absolutely. Get ready for excitement," Fedak said. "And we also look forward to deepening the mythology of the show, learning more about our characters and, most importantly, having fun."

As for the possible romance between Chuck and Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski)? "In the interest of vagueness, I will say that this new upcoming season of Chuck will not be lacking in romance," Fedak said.

The cagey Chuck creator did have more to say when it came to discussing the season-two finale, "Chuck vs. the Ring," however. "We were very proud," he said. "We were very proud of our entire season, but we were really excited to tell the story and that we knew where we were going, and we knew we had this big, epic finale. All the writers and producers, everyone involved in the show, we knew we weren't going to leave anything on the table for the fans of the show. We knew that essentially there would be a point in time during the final episode where everything but the kitchen sink, and maybe even the kitchen sink itself, would fly through a frame ... and you would see the Chuck show at its best." Fedak gives plenty of credit for the episode to director Robert Duncan McNeill (Lt. Tom Paris of Star Trek: Voyager fame).

For Fedak, there was one specific moment that resonated with him, and it came during a table reading. "I sat down at the table with the cast of that episode, and I just shook my head," he said. "I felt like, for that episode, we hired most of Hollywood. I had Bruce Boxleitner, Morgan Fairchild, Scott Bakula, Chevy Chase and our cast. I mean, our fantastic, wonderful cast, and Matt Bomer as well, and I immediately demanded that we have a photograph taken, because it's something that, actually, ... [I knew] this would be one of my favorite moments, this cast read-through. And they killed. They were wonderful. They were wonderful just reading the script, and they were just as wonderful on screen. Allison Adler and I wrote that script, and it was a really wonderful kind of moment to see the Actors' Studio version of our story before we filmed it."

Fedak added: "I'd just like to say, and this is more like a general thing, that we're just so thankful to our fans for all the support that they've shown. It has been ... it was incredibly important to the show, to the show's return, their energy and excitement. And the other thing, too, is that critics and journalists have been just so helpful and supportive for the show. It just seems like we needed every arrow in our quiver, and you guys were there for us." Chuck will return on NBC after the Olympics in March.

Thanks to Kat for the heads up.

Little-known actress Karen Gillan has been unveiled as the next assistant in Doctor Who. The 21-year-old will star alongside new Time Lord Matt Smith in the new series, to be broadcast next year.

Gillan has already appeared in the drama, having played a Soothsayer in The Fires Of Pompeii in the last run.

"I am absolutely over the moon at being chosen to play the Doctor's new companion. - I just can't wait to get started," she said. "The show is such a massive phenomenon that I can't quite believe I am going to be a part of it. Matt Smith is an incredible actor and it is going to be so much fun to act alongside him," she added.

Head of Drama, BBC Wales, Piers Wenger said she brings "energy and excitement" to the role.

"When she auditioned alongside Matt we knew we had something special," he said.

Writer and executive producer Steven Moffat said they saw some "amazing actresses" but Gillan "walked through the door the game was up". He described her as "funny, and clever, and gorgeous, and sexy. Or Scottish, which is the quick way of saying it".

"A generation of little girls will want to be her. And a generation of little boys will want them to be her too," he added.

Gillan, from Inverness, developed a love for acting after attending several youth theatre groups and taking part in various school productions. At the age of 16, she decided to pursue her career further and left school to study acting at Edinburgh's Telford College. She went on to secure a place at the Italia Conti drama school in London and landed her first role in the Scottish drama Rebus. Parts in Channel 4's Stacked, The Kevin Bishop Show and James Nesbitt's forthcoming film Outcast followed, but the role in Doctor Who is her first high profile to date.

Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes is nipping in the bud talk that the role of George — who last was seen barely alive after being mauled, mangled and mashed in a bus accident — will be recast with a new actor.

"A hilarious, ridiculous rumor" is how Rhimes, via Twitter, qualified the speculation.

Getting someone new to play a surgically made-over George would conveniently pave the way for T.R. Knight to vacate the role and exit the ABC serial, as has been rumored for many, many months. The increasingly dusty buzz has been that Knight's disenchantment with his Season 5 storylines begat his conspicuously decreased screen time... which, in turn, is said to have disenchanted Knight even further.

Now, E! Online is reporting that Knight just this week negotiated his departure from Grey's — a neat trick, seeing as he's still on contract through Season 6, if needed. "That story is utterly false," one well-placed source tells TVGuide.com. "Nothing at all has changed in T.R.'s status." A second industry insider deems the aforementioned blog posting as "total B.S."

Rhimes herself recently told EW.com, "There have been lots of rumors about T.R., but T.R.'s never said anything. Take from it what you will."

ABC entertainment boss Stephen McPherson also has weighed in on the uncertain future of Knight's character, as well as Katherine Heigl's ailing Izzie.

"They've both signed on [for next season]," he told reporters at ABC's upfront. "I can't say whether or not they'll both be there."

Reps for ABC and Knight declined to comment for this story.

Jack Bauer? He's all that in the eyes of a new CTU agent to be played by Freddie Prinze Jr., the latest actor to sign on for 24's eighth season.

A star of such films as She's All That and two Scooby-Doos — where he played opposite lady love Sarah Michelle Gellar — and the short-lived sitcom Freddie, Prinze Jr. joins 24 as Davis Cole, a Marine who now heads up the resurrected CTU's Field Ops division. In that role, Cole fancies himself the new Jack Bauer, says the Hollywood Reporter.

24 has trod this path before, introducing a strapping field agent (James Badge Dale's Chase Edmunds, Ricky Schroder's Mike Doyle) who ostensibly might one day relieve weary Jack and inherit the "Drop it!" mantle. Chase, though, dropped off the radar after losing his hand (and girlfriend Kim), while Mike had a bomb go off in his face (a manuever to one day be known as The Juliet).

Also joining 24 is Mumbai-born beauty Nazneen Contractor (CBC's The Border), playing the daughter of Anil Kapoor's Middle Eastern leader. Counting down to her untimely kidnapping in five... four... three... .

Earlier this week, Jennifer Westfeldt (Kissing Jessica Stein) and Chris Diamantopoulos (The Starter Wife) were added to the 24 cast.

Season 8 of 24, to be set in New York City, premieres Jan. 17, 2010.

It sure sounds like it based on this season 9 casting notice that just fell into my lap:

MASON: Late 20's early 30's. He's a handsome charismatic charmer who savors life. He appreciates good food, loves fast cars and sees beauty in every woman. There isn't a detail in life that eludes his senses. He is a master of seduction... knowing what everyone wants and needs before they do. But don't let his magnetism fool you. There's more than meets the eye. His intelligence can't be matched. He outmaneuvers everyone in his path. Though he longs to find a home, that vulnerability can be twisted -- making him a force to be reckoned with."

Thanks to thedemonhog for the heads up.

Question: With Sarah Connor Chronicles canceled, please tell me there is a possibility of Summer Glau making an appearance on Dollhouse! --Jenn
Ausiello: The noise you're about to hear is the sound of the Whedonverse exploding. Joss confirms to me exclusively that, well, he's one step ahead of you. "If anybody thinks [bringing Summer onto Dollhouse] hasn't occurred to me already then they have not met me," he says. "I mentioned it to her before [SCC] was canceled. I was like, 'You know, we should get you in the 'house.' But first we have to come up with something that works." And casting her as a doll would not work, insists Whedon. "Summer would be perfect to play an active, but she's done that [type of role] a lot," he says. "I'd rather see her play someone who talks too much. The most fun I have is when I get somebody who's good and comfortable at doing something, and then I make them do something else. Summer said to me, 'I would like to play a normal girl before I die of extreme old age.'" Got any ideas? Head to the comments section!

Question: Since you've seen the first four True Blood episodes of season 2, is there anything you can share? --Sanna
Ausiello: They're bloody fangtastic! (Never. Gets. Old.) Seriously, season 2 -- premiering June 14 -- gets off to a thrilling, gory, scary, sexy, disgusting, funny, suspenseful start. Alan Ball would drive a wooden stake through my heart if I spoiled any of the big twists (i.e. my lips are sealed about the fate of a certain flamboyant vampire blood dealer), but here are a few juicy morsels to whet your appetite:

• There are three orgies, all of them powered by Maryann's (Michelle Forbes) aphrodisiac fairy dust.
• Alexander Skarsgard's Nordic vamp has an extremely homoerotic encounter with a character who shall remain nameless. In related news, there are about two dozen gratuitous shirtless shots in the first four episodes, all of them belonging to either Mechad Brooks (Tara's new BF, Eggs) or Ryan Kwanten (Jason).
• Sookie has a very revealing conversation with a new character in episode 4.
• If you're wondering what secret Merlotte's newest waitress (played by Ashley Jones) is harboring, a clue can be found on her skin.

Question: Got any Dexter casting scoop? Who will be this year's Jimmy Smits? --Medve
Ausiello: None other than John Lithgow!

Question: Got anything on 24? --Chris
Ausiello: Big casting scoop: Freddie Prinze Jr. has been tapped to play CTU's head of Field Ops. Thoughts?!

Question: Any scooplets on the end of Nip/Tuck? --Ellen
Ausiello: Patience, Ellen. Patience. Oh, sorry, I meant patients. Among the last clients looking to go under the knife will be an elderly Holocaust survivor keeping a nasty secret from his wife and middle-aged daughter, and a 60-something Asian porn star who wants his open-heart surgery scar removed before trying to, er, score in the American market.

Question: Any chance Bill Lawrence will keep any of Scrubs' new interns around next season? --Joel
Ausiello: I'm willing to bet he'll keep at least one. "I really responded to Eliza Coupe," he tells me. "But there's nothing set in stone."

Question: I just finished watching the pilot episode of Glee and it was amazing! Do you have any info/spoilers about the show that can hold me over until fall? --Heather
Ausiello: The club's token gay (a.k.a. Kurt) gets a love interest in the third episode, but not one he was expecting.

Question: We're so close to the new season of Burn Notice. Can we get some info on our favorite ex-spy? --Brad
Ausiello: Next Thursday's premiere picks up right where season 2 left off: with Michael up to his neck in Atlantic Ocean. By the end of the episode, he's back in hot water. Literally. (I'm talkin' 'bout the water being on fire!)

Question: Any news on the CW drama Body Politic? Will it be picked up for mid-season? –Corinne
Ausiello: It won't. But I keep hearing rumors that one of the show's stars may find work on another high-profile CW drama. If it happens, and all of my sources insist it probably won't, it would create quite the hububaloo.

Question: Why did The CW kill the Gossip Girl spin-off? --Tammy
Ausiello: I'm told the higher-ups never embraced the whole '80s conceit. I'm also told the reason CW boss Dawn Ostroff stopped short of declaring the project dead last week was because there's a chance it could be reconceived down the road.

Question: Any Eureka scoop? --Paige
Ausiello: Three of the show's stars -- Joe Morton, Erica Cerra and Niall Matter -- have signed on to guest star on Sci Fi's new paranormal series, Warehouse 13, which debuts on July 7. Cerra and Matter will play small-town thieves who hit the jackpot thanks to a luck-inducing artifact, while Morton has been cast as a charismatic religious leader doing time in a Florida prison. Eureka, meanwhile, returns with new episodes three days later on July 10.

Question: Do you have any scoops on the new season of The Secret Life of The American Teenager? --Laura
Ausiello: I have a scoop: Brando Eaton (Mental, Bones) has been cast as Ashley's new gay sidekick, Griffin.

Question: Have you seen the Melrose Place pilot? Thoughts? --Doug
Ausiello: I thought I would hate it, but I didn't. It was 10 times better than the 90210 pilot, that's for sure. But I'm a sucker for murder mysteries.

Question: Any more Bones scoop? Pretty please? --Charlee Ann
Ausiello: Since it doesn't look like Brennan and Booth will be having real sex anytime soon, how about Brennan and her bisexual BFF Angela? "We've never discussed that but I wouldn't put it past [producers]," says Emily Deschanel with a chuckle. "I feel like Brennan's the type of character that if she had feelings for a woman she wouldn't question that and she'd go for it. But it would be kind of complicated with her best friend."

Dr. George O'Malley is dead.

Multiple sources tell me that T.R. Knight will not be returning to Grey's Anatomy next season.

Knight's departure shouldn't come as too much of a shock...

Not only was George flatlining at the end of the season finale earlier this month, but the 36-year-old actor has reportedly wanted off the hit ABC series for quite some time.

I'm told that tension between Knight and show creator Shonda Rhimes has become unbearable for both.

"He hates her, and she hates him," one source said.

Knight, an original member of the Grey's cast, was said to have become increasingly frustrated by his character's lack of storyline and camera face time. In December, he asked to be let out of his contract.

Insiders tell me Knight has made no secret about George's demise. No word on any future projects for Knight, but at least now he's free to pursue other things.

Reps for Knight and ABC declined to comment.

Knight's best buddy Katherine Heigl is supposedly still waiting to learn her fate with Seattle Grace. As I was the first to report last July, Rhimes began contemplating an early death for Dr. Isobel "Izzie" Stevens after Heigl took herself out of the running for last year's Emmys because, she complained, the writers failed to give her good enough material to work with.

Like George, Izzie was also flatlining at the end of the season finale.

Dexter has found its next Big Bad.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that John Lithgow is joining the season 4 cast as Walter Simmons, an unassuming suburbanite who has been living a duel life as one of America’s most prolific and deadliest serial killers. When the mad man (who is dubbed the "Trinity Killer" because he always kills in threes) relocates to Miami, Dexter becomes obsessed (or inspired?) by his efficient killing methods and ability to evade capture for almost three decades. (This is the new antagonist role exec producer Sara Colleton teased back in April.)

Dexter's fourth season premieres on Sept. 27. Oh, almost forgot, bonus casting scoop: Keith Carradine is reprising his role as Deb's daddy figure ex, F.B.I. Special Agent Frank Lundy for multiple episodes.

Jennifer Westfeldt and John Boyd have joined the cast of Fox's "24."

On the upcoming eighth season of the real-time drama, to be set in New York, "Kissing Jessica Stein" star Westfeldt will play the recurring role of Meredith Reed, an ambitious journalist with ties to Arman Hashemi (Anil Kapoor), a Middle East leader who comes to the U.S. on a peacemaking mission.

Boyd ("The Notorious Bettie Page") will be a regular on the 20th TV/Imagine series, playing CTU systems analyst Jonah Schwartz.

Westfeldt and Boyd join previously cast Kapoor and Chris Diamantopoulos as the "24" producers are filling nine major new roles for Season 8, slated to begin production today.

Westfeldt recently recurred on ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" and launched a production company with "Mad Men" star Jon Hamm.

Chuck deserves a whole season, not just 13 episodes. Any chance of more? — Darryl
MATT: Actually, yes. NBC entertainment president Ben Silverman says that while the current plan is to deliver 13 midseason episodes, depending on the ratings, "we may extend it out and continue it through the summer," where he thinks it could pair nicely with Friday Night Lights. "We're looking to ... keep [Chuck] incredibly viral and buzz-worthy until it returns, and then hopefully have it on our air for many years to come." That'd be Awesome. And even more so? I chatted up Scott Bakula at TNT's upfronts luncheon, and he's game for more Chuck, if need be.

Any scoop on Gossip Girl's Season 3? — F.R.
MICKEY: Speaking with TVGuide.com at the CW upfronts, Leighton Meester seemed to confirm that Georgina's plan to weasel her way into Blair's life will be successful, as Blair will be living — gasp! — in an NYU dorm, with the little people! Including possibly both G. and V.! (Don't worry, Dorota fans; she'll still be on hand to tend to her "Miss Blair.")

When will we find out who's dead in the car on True Blood? — Neil
MICKEY: Since the season premiere (airing Sunday, June 14, 9 pm/ET) picks up right where we left off, the victim's identity is revealed in short order. As you might have already guessed, Season 2's first casualty is related to Tara, but not in a way that you will guess. At first blush, the significance of said death will not be apparent, but just wait! Also, a minor character's drinking problem will resurface — hilariously.

Any scoop on Leverage's second season? How will things be between Nate and Sophie when the show returns? — Maya
TIM:
Timothy Hutton tells us that Nate will go into ultra-revenge mode this season, and against people who very much deserve his wrath: "Sometimes the Leverage team says, 'You know, we don't really need to go that far, Nate. It's OK.' And he says, 'No, we're going to bury this guy,'" Hutton says. Of course, the team isn't even together at the start of the season — until one member lures the others to the same city. Would that be Sophie? Hutton says that's not a bad guess.

As a Ghost Whisperer fan, I want to know: When Melinda looks at Jim, does she sees Jim or Sam? And what about Delia, Ned and Eli, who do they see? — Yasser
MATT:
This is a sticky wicket and yet a relevant query in light of the season finale, so I beseeched exec producer P.K. Simonds to explain it all. "The face that everyone sees, including Melinda, when they look at 'Jim' is Sam's," he tells the Buzz. "But over time, people who know that Jim's soul is in Sam's body — including Jim himself — will see him more and more like Jim. Even in mirrors, we'll soon stop seeing Sam's face looking back." And that's bad news for that Jericho chap (Kenneth Mitchell) who was playing ol' Sam.

Could you please let me in on the status of Eureka? Is the show dead ever going to return? — Randy
MATT:
Eureka returns Friday, July 10, at 8 pm/ET, for 10 episodes. What's more, Season 3.5's guest stars will include Ever Carradine (returning as Jack's sister, Lexie) and The 4400's own Billy Campbell, playing a specialist brought in to assist on a Global Dynamics project.

What did you think of Eastwick? — Fernando
MICKEY:
I'm a huge fan of both John Updike's novel and the film starring Cher, Jack Nicholson, Michelle Pfeiffer and Susan Sarandon, but after seeing a clip of the show (which features Rebecca Romijn) at the Alphabet's upfront, my first thought was: Is this really necessary?

USA NETWORK PRESENTS A NEW ORIGINAL SERIES

“ROYAL PAINS”

PREMIERING THURSDAY, JUNE 4 AT 10/9c
75 Minute Premiere Presented with Limited Commercial Interruptions

First Original Scripted Series from Universal Cable Productions for USA

USA will launch the 75-minute limited commercial premiere of ROYAL PAINS, the network’s newest original scripted series, on Thursday, June 4 at 10/9c followed by 11 weekly one-hour episodes of the exciting drama. Advancing the Thursday night block on USA, the series debut will immediately follow the Season 3 premiere of one of television’s hottest shows, BURN NOTICE (in its new timeslot 9/8c), with the network window premiere of the James Bond theatrical “Casino Royale” as a lead-in to the night.

ROYAL PAINS centers on a young E.R. doctor who, after being wrongly blamed for a patient's death, moves to the Hamptons and becomes the reluctant "doctor for hire" to the rich and famous. When the attractive administrator of the local hospital asks him to treat the town’s less fortunate, he finds himself walking the line between doing well for himself and doing good for others.

Andrew Lenchewski ("UC: Undercover") wrote the pilot and serves as co-executive productive. The show is executive produced by Rich Frank (“Comanche Moon”), Paul Frank (“Comanche Moon”) and Jeff Kwatinetz (“Big Momma’s House”) from Prospect Park, and Michael Rauch ("Love Monkey"). John Rogers (“Hide & Seek”) also serves as co-executive producer. Jace Alexander (BURN NOTICE, "Warehouse 13") directed the pilot and will serve as co-executive producer on the series. ROYAL PAINS films entirely in New York (Long Island and Brooklyn) and at locations around The Hamptons.

ROYAL PAINS stars Mark Feuerstein ("What Women Want," "In Her Shoes," “Good Morning, Miami”), Paulo Costanzo (“Road Trip”), Jill Flint (“Gossip Girl”) and Reshma Shetty (“30 Rock”). The pilot features guest appearances by Campbell Scott ("Six Degrees") and Christine Ebersole ("Saturday Night Live"). ROYAL PAINS is the first original series from Universal Cable Productions for USA.

In the pilot, we meet Dr. Hank Lawson (Feuerstein), a handsome, smart and talented doctor who seems to have it all ... thriving career, beautiful fiancée and a swank NYC apartment. With one fateful and principled decision in the ER, Hank loses it all and is blacklisted from the prestigious medical community he once owned. Months later, single and down and out on his luck, Hank finds himself in the Hamptons after being coaxed by his younger brother (Costanzo) to head out to the east end of Long Island. While there, they crash a party at a mega-mansion on the beach, where Hank must jump into action when a guest requires medical attention that only he is able to diagnose after the current house doctor fails and nearly kills the young lady.
