Throwback Thursday - Parenthood - May God Bless You And Keep You Always

For Throwback Thursday, I’m writing the final episode of Parenthood. In all of the years I’ve been watching TV, this is one of the most underrated and best dramas on any network. It was so impressive that NBC kept this wonderful dramedy for 6 seasons and 100 episodes. Outside of Dick Wolf shows and Grimm, NBC rarely keeps any show long like that (unless The Blacklist lasts 6+ seasons). Here goes my review:

In the final episode, after Sarah (Lauren Graham) plays like Taylor Swift in terms of having many relationships with other guys, she finally gets married to the socially awkward Hank (Ray Romano). It was so sweet where Zeek (Craig T. Nelson) asked Sarah if she’s been the best father to her and she totally agrees with him. After Mark didn’t click with Drew and always disappointing him, he finally got a good father in Hank. Despite a rough start with him, he grew to like his “soon-to-be” stepfather and he even accepted his proposal to be his best man at his wedding.

After a long absence from the family because of college, Haddie comes for back the wedding. She tells Max how much she appreciated him as a person despite their differences. Speaking of him, he finally finds love with Ruby (Hank’s daughter)’s friend, Lynne. Of course, it’s inconsiderate for him to take random pictures of people but Ruby and her friend didn’t mind at all. After all these years of Max not having a friendship with anyone due to his social awkwardness, Lynne danced with him at the wedding. What a sweet moment with him and his parents are happy that he finally found a real friend to socialize with.

Adam and Crosby worked the Luncheonette since Season 3. That’s all about to change because Adam is ready to move on other things. However, the younger brother still wants to keep it around. Their father gives advice to Crosby that he can work well without it.

After Joel refused to be back with Julia during the most of S5, he actually fights for her to come back into his life but wants nothing to do with him in her life in most of Season 6. I seriously would have been upset if Julia and Joel decide to not end up with each other in the finale. It turns out there was a happy ending for them. They realize that Victor’s biological mother had a girl and they decide to adopt her into their family. I was so happy when Julia and Joel had a happy ending together after what they went through.

Amber has been through so much especially the car accident where she almost died at the end of Season 2. She definitely matured a lot out of all of the characters. I loved how the grandparents let her stay at their place with her child. Although Ryan and her had awesome chemistry, it was good for her to not have a relationship with him after his drug addiction that cost their relationship.

After Zeek peacefully died in his sleep, the family honors him with them playing a baseball game. Such a sweet ending where the family hugged together.

Flash forward Montage:
- Adam works with Kristina at the Chambers Academy and is now the headmaster of the academy.

- Amber happily is doing well with her new hubby, played by Scott Porter from Friday Night Lights (don’t know if they got married) with her child.

- Max graduates from the academy with a smile on his face.

- Julia and Joel have 1 more kid on the way and are still happily married together.

- Sarah and Hank are still together and their children (Ruby and Drew) get along well.

- Jasmine has another baby on the way. She and Crosby are both doing well together at the Luncheonette.
Overall, this was such a happy ending to the Braverman family. They had such fantastic chemistry throughout the whole series. The series finale was definitely the best of the series.

Grade: A+
