'Awakening' Preview

The first part of the episode deals with freak occurences that happen at the same time to three different people whose eyes suddenly turn white and something demonic happens with them before they seemingly return to normal. There's a really good connection to what's happened in the past on the show involving some characters that haven't been around in a long time. Fortunately, Abbie and Ichabod are on the case and they are literally never apart in this episode... until the end. There's no time for breathing in this episode once it all kicks off so Abbie and Ichabod are literally on their feet for most of this episode.

"Sometimes old school is the best school."

All descendants of the covens in Sleepy Hollow will be affected by the Liberty Bell, so there's potential for mass chaos. If Katrina rings it, the power will be unleashed and Henry appeals to her. We already know she's heading down a dark path, yet Henry is appealing to her want for family. A few people's minds will be at ease who thought Katrina would be the "damsel-in-distress" and be forced to choose this path, but that's not the case. It's free will, her choice. That's not to say she hasn't been manipulated by Henry, but there is nothing forcing her to be Evil Katrina. Will she see the error of her ways? I don't know, but the power of her son holds strong on her heart. What a mother wouldn't do, right? The dark path seems a bit confusing right now and the things Katrina says and does do not reflect anything she's stood for in the past. There's huge contradictions, even if it is her choice. It's clear she loves her son but can we take her at face value?

That's not to say Ichabod doesn't share his feelings with Henry who we all know has abandonment issues. You'll find yourself punching the air with what Ichabod says to him as he's so right. Abbie and Ichabod work so brilliantly together yet again, even when it appears hope is lost for them when they're tied to a stake. Oh, how the tables turned. But, they turn the tables themselves and it leads to a great scene between the four characters. There is an explosion that we saw in the promo for the episode which has you gasping. Believe me, I knew it was coming but I was still shocked. The episode ends with Abbie and Ichabod torn apart from each other. I'm unsure how people will feel about this episode but I thought it was a mixed bag of emotions. It felt fast, that's for sure. I enjoyed the episode but I have some burning feelings about it too. To be fair, I'm not entirely sure how I feel. Gah, I'm confused. But in a good way.

"This is wrong on so many levels."

Earlier in the episode, Irving attacks the group which causes Jenny to depart from Abbie and Ichabod to deal with Irving so they can continue the mission. There's a fantastic shoot-out between the two who seem to be paired together for the second episode in a row. It leads to an awesome chase scene in the tunnels beneath the Archives and you will fear for Jenny. Irving isn't Irving anymore and he's going to find out what Jenny has done with his family one way or the other.

Bottom line: You cannot miss this episode!

'Awakening' Teasers

- The Gorgan's head may or may not make an appearance.
- We are treated to a flashback to 1773.
- Ichabod with a power drill and a head-bopping garden gnome - enough said.
- You'll be saying "oh shit" a couple of times.
- Ichabod chooses duty while Katrina chooses family.
- That major character death? Yeah, it happens in this episode.
- It appears for one character, there's no redemption. Katrina? Irving? Henry?
- That finale synopsis FOX released? You might want to think about that for a second.

ARGHH!! The above three teases are making me tense & apprehensive yet I am as eager as everyone to see where the story goes.

  6. Full disclosure: I didn't read the preview (this time) because everyone has said its a game changer and I want to be surprised.

However, I'm glad that this preview seems to be a lot more drama free this time. Looking forward to Monday.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Yay my job here is done :D Was hoping I'd be able to get people to really go for the teases and want to see the episode. Thanks for reading :)

    ReplyDelete
  8. Ok but did you like the episode? Would you say the show's gettin back on track?

    ReplyDelete
  9. I did like the episode, though I feel like I still have mixed feelings about it. I think that's only because it leads into the finale so I need to watch the finale to get the full picture but this was an enjoyable episode. Getting back on track? I think the show is slowly getting there and the episode promises a more drastic future that, if done right and is resolved by the end of the finale, we could see a season 3 that's more like season 1.

  10. Major character death-Please let it be Katrina.I beg you writers.
Otherwise,i'm going to throw something at my television for sure!

    ReplyDelete
  11. I will not confirm nor deny if you will be throwing something at your television tomorrow night ;)

    ReplyDelete
  12. Even though it might be show suicide I get this really scary feeling that the 'major' death will be none other then ... Lt. Abbie Mills.

    ReplyDelete
  13. That would totally be a game changer! Would certainly get those viewers flocking in to see the finale.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Hahaha!
    Your tease is killing me!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Haha I do apologise, I hope the teases will help Sleepy Hollow get away from that ugly series low for its last episode and people will tune in for these last 2 episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  16. It sure would.
I wonder if Abbie might end up becoming a angel next season like Castiel on Supernatural.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Fingers crossed my friend!

    ReplyDelete
  18. I wonder if season three will find Abbie ( and Jenny ) trapped in the past with Ichabod ( and Katrina and baby Jeremy ) Crane alive and having never met the Mills's.
( All of season three would take place somewhere between 1773 and 1781 )

    ReplyDelete
  19. I don't want anybody to die, but my guess would be Jenny. I can't see them killing Irving since if they wanted to kill him off they wouldn't have brought him back.

Henry is the main villain, but since Katrina has gone bad they could kill him. Although I don't want John Noble to leave the show so I'm hoping it's not him. If the show killed Icahboad or Abbie the fans would never come back so that would be a stupid move by the writers.

Killing Katrina would bring a lot of fans back, but I hope they don't take the easy route out to fixing the problems fans have been having.

    Great Article Gavin!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I don't think I would mind a good few episodes set in the past as it would be so interesting to explore. Problem with that would mean the dynamic of the show would change dramatically and I know a lot of people want the show to return to its season 1 format. The Abbie/Ichabod relationship wouldn't be the same. But I would totally be up for that storyline for a good few episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Trust me, I didn't want anybody to die either and the scene is quite emotional.

As for your guesses - I love Jenny and she's really coming into her own so I'd hate for Abbie to lose her sister. It would also be a huge loss for the show if they lost John Noble who is a fantastic actor and who I've loved ever since Fringe. Katrina would be the easy option, wouldn't it, but at this point who knows what's going through the writers' minds. I think they'd do anything just to get the show back on track and make fans happy. Irving has had his own descent into darkness that this new Frank is going to take over - so did Irving ever really come back from the dead? He just hasn't been the same.

Even if it was Abbie or Ichabod, I'm pretty sure their death would be reversed somehow. They wouldn't stay dead for long. Having Sleepy Hollow without either of them would definitely kill the show.

    Thanks for reading Robert :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. I'm not sure about becoming an angel since the one we met in 'Paradise Lost' was a bit of a douche. Plus, since Abbie is a Witness I'm sure if they killed her off it would be reversed. Sleepy Hollow wouldn't live without Abbie.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Thanks for the preview Gavin! Now I don't know whether to be excited or worried! A major death? It better not be Jenny or Abby or Ichagod. Just to clarify....when you say "major death", how dead will this person actually he/she....be gone forever, never to be seen again, or will they join the ranks of all the other dead characters on the show who continue to walk around like nothing actually happened.

    ReplyDelete
  24. All I can say is thank god for DVR's as Monday is going to be a busy TV night.
( have to watch "The Originals" live at 8pm followed by "Gotham" also on at 8 as The Joker aka Jerome and Dick "Robin" Grayson's parents John and Mary are making their first appearance and then finally "Sleepy Hollow" )

    ReplyDelete
  25. That's true, I suppose he wasn't officially dead.

It would still be a huge risk to kill off Abbie or Ichabod during the episode, as people might not tune into the finale. That's of course is if the death came in the closing minutes.

    ReplyDelete
  26. People would have to tune in for the finale even if Abbie or Ichabod died just to see what happens next or how they go about fixing it. With Game of Thrones, don't episodes after a major death get a bit of an increase because of it? Kind of like Baelor or The Rains of Castamere.

But if certain people wanted to be petty about it, then I'm sure they wouldn't tune in as a form of protest. That would be a shame, of course.

    ReplyDelete
  27. You should totally be excited AND worried about this episode haha. To clarify, this episode leads us to believe this character dies for good. I'm sure it was revealed a while back that there would be a major cast member's death in the last couple of episodes of the show that wouldn't be reversed, so it's safe to say this is a permanent death.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Oh that does sound like a busy night for you. I wish I lived in America so I could DVR shows and watch them ASAP as I have a lot to watch on Monday's too. Can't wait for Gotham! As long as you watch Sleepy Hollow live, that's all that matters ;)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Terrific review! You made me excited as hell!!! *runs around in circles*

    ReplyDelete
  30. Haha excellent! Yay, I'm really glad :D I took some of your advice from the last preview on board to make it a more well-rounded preview :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. Gahhh! You're killing me Gavin! I gave up on Sleepy Hollow after the angel episode but got caught up again after your ummm, controversial??? preview last week and I'm really glad I did! I will be stalking Twitter and STV for spoilers since I have to wait until Tuesday to actually watch the episode.

I'll be crushed if the major death is Jenny but I'm leaning that way since they already killed Irving once. As for the character that has no redemption, I think it's either Irving or Henry but I'm leaning towards Irving since Henry already proved he really isn't redeemable (and he accepts that) when he killed those creeps at the hotel.

    Thanks for the preview!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Knew ya had in you!

But my GAWD, what an intense episode!

    ReplyDelete
  33. With Game of Thrones the deaths aren't unexpected. Everyone knows one of their favourites might die at any moment. With Sleepy Hollow deaths don't come often, and since people are already annoyed about this season killing one of them off would really send a lot of people into rage.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Haha controversial is one word for it ;)

It's a shame you have to wait until Tuesday to see the episode. Really wish you'd be able to watch it sooner. Haha I would suggest staying away from Twitter so you won't be spoiled for what's coming but if you really can't wait, then I hope it doesn't dampen your enjoyment of the episode.

I am so glad you didn't end up giving up on the show. I wasn't the biggest fan of that angel episode either but got to keep moving. Great theories there, you may or may not be right for some of them ;) I love being a tease haha.

You're welcome, thanks for reading and commenting :D

    ReplyDelete
  35. You're totally right, I didn't take that into consideration. I don't know if the writers can do anything differently now since people have a clear idea of what they think of the show and it seems like nothing the writers can do will save it. Maybe this death will change things, maybe it won't. I have to be so vague as to not spoil it haha but things are going to be different now, that's for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Waiting for my favorite shows sucks but if I owned a TV, I'd never get anything done! Usually I like to stay unspoiled for my favorite shows but when there is a major character death, I gotta know - my nerves can't take the suspense!

I think the angel episode was the last straw for me - couldn't take the bickering anymore so I just needed a break. Now we got a Dark Katrina, Evil Irving, Refocused Henry and a unified Team Witness - what's not to love about that?!

And you're not going to tell me which things I may or may not be right on, right? Ya, didn't think so, ya big tease ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  37. I'm totally the same. Television basically rules my life. I'm quite the same about major deaths in shows as my little heart can't take any more.

Yeah the bickering aspect of the show was not great at all. I'm glad we've moved past that and yeah, those points you mention - Dark Katrina, Evil Irving, Refocused Henry and unified Team Witness - are spot on and the reason why the end of Season 2 feels a lot better than the first half.

Hehe please accept my apologies for being a Sleepy Hollow tease. I wish I could just reply with all the answers but I cannot :( Makes me said knowing what I know and not being able to share it!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I'd love to see this happen. : )

    ReplyDelete
  39. So you would prefer then killing Jenny, which will alienate even more fans, over the easy route that will bring fans back?

    ReplyDelete
  40. I knew my Katrina was gonna die T_T

    ReplyDelete
  41. I just thinking taking the easy route isn't good writing, yes it would bring back a lot of fans which is a good thing, but I would like to see how they resolve the problems we have been seeing without having to use the easy route.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Great review... Thanks !
At least in the possible main charater death you di not pu Jenny ? so I'm kind of relieved ...

    ReplyDelete
  43. Yeah, I hate when a show takes the easy route and just kills someone off instead of trying to fix things. I hope the writers of Sleepy Hollow will be able to do the fans justice though, no matter what happens.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hey, thanks for reading and commenting, I appreciate it. I didn't put in my review that Jenny was off the hook with the main character death. You might have got that mixed up with the part about the no redemption :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. She may or may not, keep hope and be sure to watch the episode as soon as it aires. Katrina has some fabulous scenes :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. So what if it Ichabod who dies in the future Katrina cast a spell to go to the past and Abbie goes as well where she meet past Ichabod that would make sense why they did the past. Katrina goes back to change her history and raise Jemery and since Ichabod still alive in the past he is really not dead.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Yeah, I read those lines and am currently wanting to curl up in the fetal position. I don't want anyone to die :(. Hoping it'll be a villain who dies...
And of course, I HAVE to work when the episode airs tomorrow night! Agh! Watching the episode will definitely be among my first orders of business when I get home.
Thanks for the preview! Sounds exciting and incredibly nervewracking all at the same time.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I sincerely hope not. Not unless it's one of those things where the other characters think she's dead but she's really not. That I can live with. But if they killed her off for good, I'd be pissed.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I rather like this idea! Ooh. That could be interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  50. ...oooooooh. *Is intrigued*

    ReplyDelete
  51. I would totally be pissed too. Wish I could ease everybody's minds too but unfortunately, I cannot :(

    ReplyDelete
  52. Thanks for reading and commenting! Shame about work, that sucks! But yes, it's top priority to watch as soon as you get home.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Only four hours' work, though, and I get out a half hour after the episode would end. So not TOO long a wait, thankfully. But still.
At least I'll be home for the finale next week! But yeah, I trust your judgment, and I look forward to it, nervous though I am.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I know :). Need to keep us in suspense and all that. Honestly, I don't know how you and others who get advance previews of dramatic episodes manage to keep quiet as well as you do! I'd be sitting with my hand literally over my mouth, being all, "Mmmmmmm!"

    ReplyDelete
  55. Indeed :D. I've always liked the fact that Abbie and Jenny are so well versed in history thanks to their schooling as kids as well as it being a personal interest of theirs, so it'd be great fun to see them put that knowledge to use.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Haha at times people do have to make sure I don't spill big beans because I'm like that too ;) I sometimes wish I never see episodes early because it's a lonely world when you can't discuss in detail with anyone, but then it's also amazing because I've seen the episode earlier than I would have which is awesome! I hope one day you get to see an episode early so you know what it's like :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. I think Henry or Jenny die because Katrina is obviously still alive to send Abbie and Ichabod back in time in the finale episode :( Since we have confirmation that the death happens this episode, those are the logical two candidates. The finale synopsis stated Katrina has an unlikely ally, which I'd have to deduce as Irving, so it must be Henry or Jenny. Wahhh! I really don't want either to die! Jenny is awesome on this show and John Noble is always great. I don't like everything they did with him this season, but he's an amazing actor. Yeah, my money's on Henry because his death will be an awesome plot device for both Katrina and Ichabod, and I really think if Sleepy is looking to start anew and revert back to much of what we saw in season one, the Henry storyline has reached its plateau. Does that mean we have Katrina as the big bad for season three? Because I don't think that will work, either. Perhaps if we're granted another season, they'll introduce another character to join Katrina if she makes it through the finale. I also read something that stated there is possibly more than one death that will occur before the season closes, so this may be a real game changer!

    ReplyDelete
  58. You have excellent deduction skills and thanks for commenting, I love reading your thoughts. What you wrote makes total sense, let's just hope the writers also make sense when this death happens and moving forward. The writers haven't been totally reliable this season but I'm hoping they're fixing some things and I feel like we're moving in a good direction. John Noble is a fantastic actor and I love Jenny! Guess it doesn't matter who dies, it's going to be sad either way isn't it? I don't know how I would feel about Katrina being the big bad in season 3. I'm hoping they don't drag the Dark Katrina-arc too long before it starts to get boring. I didn't realise there would be another death looming on Sleepy Hollow, it makes me more anxious now after what happens in this episode.

    Thanks for reading!

    ReplyDelete
  59. I wonder if Katrina sends Abbie ( and Jenny )back in time because Icabod is still alive in this time but he is dead in the present.

    ReplyDelete
  60. That's an interesting theory. Also, when we see Abbie's car explode in the preview it made me wonder if Abbie dies and they must go back in time to save her. I seriously doubt there will be two permanent deaths; perhaps a permanent and the usual Sleepy Hollow death, which means the character is back shortly after. There are many theories online. If the show was ending, they could do just about anything. We are fighting for a renewal, so I'm sure our two leads are safe...unless they know something we don't know and anything goes!

    ReplyDelete
  61. A pox on you , oh purveyor of unrevealed teases. Now I am experiencing anxiety attacks waiting for tomorrow night.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Abbie's car exploding was the part I gasped at even though we knew it was coming. I'm sure it will make everyone gasp when it happens on their TVs.

I did write that Abbie and Ichabod are separated by the end of the episode - I could mean physically like one is in the past and the other in the present, or I could mean one of them is dead and one is alive. Or both? Maybe it's neither and I'm just being one big tease? Hehe.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Haha love this comment, even if I am being cursed. Can't wait to discuss this episode fully with you when you see this episode. Believe me this is a burden I do not wish to have, even if I love seeing episodes early, I just want to talk about it haha. Tomorrow night can't come quick enough!

    ReplyDelete
  64. I never used to stress too much about major character deaths until this little show called The 100 premiered and yanked the whole "they're the leads, they won't kill them" safety net right out from under me!

Agreed about the back half of the season being so much better. I just hope more fans who dropped the show like I did come back - that 1.2 last week was very sad.

Apology accepted ;-) I think knowing but not being able to talk about it would be worse than the suspense of waiting!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Jenny and Abbie in the 18th century? America in the 18th century wasn't the best place to be a Black woman. It does not matter how much history they may have learned in school. I doubt that the current SH writers could do justice to more than one or two episodes of this nature.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I imagine so! It'd be so easy to accidentally let something slip while answering people's questions-and of course, some people do everything in their power to try and drag some hints out of you :p.
Awwwww. Ugh. Yeah. That would suck. But yes, seeing the episode before anyone else would definitely be fun, having that feeling of looking forward to everyone else's reactions and not having to wait like others do :D. I'd definitely be up for doing that someday if I ever got the chance! It'd be kinda fun. I'm glad you do enjoy the job, lonely though it may be sometimes.

    ReplyDelete
  67. No, it wasn't, you're absolutely right about that. But it'd be interesting to see the ways in which they dealt with or observed all the mistreatment going on, and while I know attempts to try and free black people didn't really get going until the 1800s here in the States, who knows, maybe they'd find at least one sympathetic ally along the way.
I agree that I don't think that that's a storyline that could last too long, but it'd still be an intriguing one to do for an episode or two anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I'd feel the same way about character deaths. Especially if it involves one of my favorite characters in danger of dying. I'd HAVE to know! I gotta be prepared, after all, have to stock up on Kleenex and stuff!
(You should've seen me after the first half of "Criminal Minds" season finale last year. That week's worth of waiting felt like it took FOREVER.)

    ReplyDelete
  69. Exactly! I can't go into something as big as a character death without Kleenex, Twitter support and comfort food at the ready! This takes some serious planning ;-)

Right there with you on the CM two part finale last season. I was in an all out panic about Reid. Don't know if you watch The 100 but it seems every week I'm in a panic about at least one character potentially dying!

    ReplyDelete
  70. I'm beginning to wonder if the major death is Ichabod?

    ReplyDelete
  71. The thing with this show is that killing people off means nothing, there are so many ways for them to come back. Killing Jenny huge mistake especially since they never fully utilized her this season and Irving is already dead. I actually want to see Henry come into his own, what they saddled him with this season was nonsense. Ichabod can die in the future and be resetted in the past same with Henry and Katrina I guess. Abbie cannot die at all, sorry but that is something I do not want to see at all. As for Katrina dying yeah it wouldn't bother me at all but I don't want that easy fix either. Katrina as the big bad may be the best thing for the character just have to wait and see.

    ReplyDelete
  72. You are absolutely correct Game of Thrones is that type of show and the deaths are actually meaningful and fit into the storyline. In other words not done for shock value.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I do not want to see a show where two black females are stuck in slavery times. I do not even understand the romanticism associated with this time period, it was not fun and games and Abbie/Jenny would not be able to just deal with it like Ichabod is able to do so in the present.

    ReplyDelete
  74. What i'm thinking. Would make sense because it's a major death they can easily fix.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Really, what historical knowledge of slavery would help out Abbie and Jenny. I mean even free blacks during that time wasn't living high on the hog and them being female leaves them open to sexually attacks also.

Sleepy Hollow romanticizes this time period with Ichabod and his pals but it really wasn't fun and games for everyone. So no I don't want to see this played out any longer then it has to be.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Now this is a preview review that I can get behind, a little something of everything for every taste and enough tease to get me excite about the episode. It all sounds good and I'm glad that everyone is involve except no Headless what is that about.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Irving's truly gone isn't he? Katrina CAN'T BE EVIL!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  78. cliffhanger in the end?

  79. I see you've learned from the last headline. Haha, well done. ; ) Also a lot less comments this time around. = )

  80. Precisely. Glad I'm not alone in that :D.
Also glad you understand about that finale last year! I was chatting with a girl about it online and we spent the entire night doing some variation of, "OMG, NOOOOOOOOOO!" back and forth, LOL. And we were furiously scanning anything even remotely related to the show online, too, just in case they gave out any hints. That show is downright evil sometimes with their cliffhangers and putting people in peril.
(And then as I was watching "Demons", I was like, "Well, if I didn't love Garcia enough before this episode, I sure do now!" She was awesome in that one.)
I have not seen "The 100", no, but I've certainly heard about it thanks to all its fans on here. It sounds like quite an exciting, intense show-I'll have to check it out sometime. And if I do, I'll keep that in mind about the show insisting on freaking its viewers out :p. Television writers, why you gotta be so cruel?

  81. I don't want Jenny to actually die, as she has been underused this season, but if I looked at all the major ones she or maybe Katrina would the ones to die. They will probably bring whoever dies back anyway.

I love the idea of characters not "officially" dying, but where does it stop? They can't keep saying a major character is going to die only to bring them back again. It removes the shock value, as people won't expect anything permanent.

  82. Haha thanks. Yeah I guess it's both a good and bad thing that there's less comments :P

  83. I feel like I could have wrote so much more as well but I had to restrain myself since this is only a preview. I'm so glad you feel excited for this episode :D Yeah, it feels weird that they've completely neglected the Headless Horseman/Abraham storyline but I guess so much is going on now that there's really no time for that. I do hope we see him again in the finale.

  84. I don't watch The 100 either but it's on my to-watch list, especially since a lot of fans have been raving about it and a specific character death that happened at the end of last year. Part of me doesn't want to watch because my little heart just can't take any more fictional deaths. Seen far too many in my time.

  85. I heard about The 100 and what's been happening and I can't wait to start watching it. It's a shame they pulled that safety net out from under you but it's all good they keep the fans on their toes. That's what I call an exciting show.

I really hope people do return for these last two episodes as my heart dropped when I saw that 1.2.

  86. Yeah I can't keep taking resurrections after mourning a character. Sometimes I'm grateful but when it's used over and over and over again, I lose interest. Partly why I stopped watching The Vampire Diaries though I'll catch up with it one day.

I think both Jenny and Katrina have so much more potential.

  87. Yeah totally, I see that. Though they still manage to shock me to my core that I can't think straight for weeks after it happens. I don't know if I'm still fully recovered from some of those deaths. But yeah even though they are truly shocking moments, they were done in a way that furthers the storyline and holds meaning instead of just "oh this person is hated or liked, let's just kill them off for an easy fix or to be shocking". I see that with Game of Thrones.

  88. Yeah I can see it as maybe a 2-parter that I'd hope the writers would write tastefully and showcase the actress's talents because we all know they can act anything if they wanted to. It would be interesting to explore as I find history quite fascinating but in terms of Sleepy Hollow, I think a whole season set in the past would be too much of a departure from the show we all know and love.

  89. There's something that happens at the end of this episode that kind of proves my point about the knowledge of what's coming can help them out, but I'll not divulge that too much as I wouldn't want to spoil it.

But you are right, totally. It wasn't a great time period at all and I would rather not watch a full season drag out the abomination that was slavery but for a couple of episodes, it would be interesting to explore if the writers wrote it tastefully. It would be an eye-opener, that's for sure and it's so risky but I have faith Nicole Beharie could pull it off. She could act her ass off.

  90. I can't wait to hear everyone's opinions on this episode as I'm really unsure how a lot of people will take it, so once I see how other people take the episode it will make it clearer for me too because I'm a little unsure myself. It was a very enjoyable episode and a total game changer and it makes me want to watch the finale so much more now, at the same time there are issues that need to be addressed. I'll be able to talk more in detail about them in my full review on Tuesday.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Yep. It has me frustrated but highly anticipating the finale. So it's a cliffhanger that does its job haha.

  92. So many questions and some are answered in the episode, but it makes you ask so many more questions. It's one of those episodes haha.

  93. cool ha! but dang it

  94. FOX wants to turn Sleepy Hollow into an episodic show so that's not good

    ReplyDelete
  95. They do, but them two are my least favourite main characters, and also I think the most likely to die.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Hmmmmm "leads us to believe" could still mean that by the following episode, we realize that the character isn't dead for good....Gavin, those cryptic responses of yours are sooooo not helpful! LOL. Anyway, I think it's either going to be Henry, Irving, Jenny or Katrina. I also don't think they'd kill Henry, who seems to have a master plan unfolding (we need a villain and Headless really isn't doing much). Jenny is such a popular character that it would be unwise to get rid of her permanently and I can't see the purpose in killing her. Irving is mainly a pawn in Henry's plan, so he's a possibility..but once again, I don't know if there would be any major ramifications from his death...especially since he already died before.. So this leaves me with Katrina. I think her death would be a major game-changer for the plot and I think it could also have an effect on Henry. But Henry's death could also have a profound effect on Katrina and send her down a very dark path.. So my guess is Katrina, followed by Henry, followed by Irving. I'm right aren't I????

  97. yes I wiil thanks.

  98. I know...I still haven't recovered from the Red Wedding, Ned Stark's death or Oberyn's death! I got over Joffrey's pretty quickly though.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Oh trust me, they're both good things. lol Be happy.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Haha I love being cryptic - THE POWER! It's gone to my head haha. You have an amazing mind though and I love your theories. At least you don't have long to wait until the episode aires now :D

    ReplyDelete
  101. Haha yeah I had a week-long street party when Joffrey died. I still smile when I think about it :D The others, I agree, I still shed tears for those lost souls :(

    ReplyDelete
  102. It depends. I love story-arcs but if they can deliver interesting stories each week, I could be on board with it as Season 2 didn't handle a long arc very well. I'd like to think they'd do longer arcs and do them justice but maybe an episodic format would be benefial to the show, at least until it gets back on its own two feet.

  103. Ahh Garcia! I was a mess when they almost killed her too! Garcia, Emily and Reid are my three favorites ever and the show has tried to kill each of them at least once! But despite all the panic attacks, I keep coming back for more!

The 100 is a great show. Give it 3-4 episodes though. The first three will have you groaning in some places but they really are necessary to watch so you get the idea of what's going on and it will help you appreciate the growth in the characters after seeing what they are like in those first few episodes. If you are a Netflix subscriber, S1 is available now (in the US at least). They posted S1 before S2 started so hopefully they will do that again this year so new viewers can get caught up before S3 starts.

  104. The 100 is my favorite show on TV right now out of the dozen or so that I watch each week. The writing and acting are top notch. Give it 3-4 episodes though...those first few are a bit rough but they will help you appreciate how far everything has come in such a short amount of time.

I'm hoping more people come back for the last two episodes too....as one of those people who left and came back again, I'm confident this season is going to go out with a bang and I'm really hoping for that 3rd season now that the writers seem to have things back on track!

    ReplyDelete
  105. I know! Something about those three that seems to draw trouble their way. And God, Reid, the list of all the things he's been through over the years...frankly, I'm amazed he's not set in a permanent body cast at this point! Or that the team hasn't decided to bubble wrap him before sending him out :p.
I love those three characters, too, they were the ones I gravitated to right away when I first saw the show. And much as I hate seeing them in danger, the episodes where they are tend to be quite good, so...it all balances out, I guess :).
Thanks for the heads up about the first few episodes of "The 100"-I tend to be a fairly patient person when it comes to getting into TV shows, and I'm very forgiving of a show's first season as they work things out-that's to be expected, after all. So I'll keep that in mind. I don't have Netflix, unfortunately, but maybe I can look online and see if there's a way to watch it there.

  106. If Katrina dies I'd be so pissed I'd consider not watching anymore, especially since she's gotten more and more interesting the last few episodes.
