  1. I think the lesson learned here is do not piss off Richard Castle. Wow. Nathan definitely knocked it out of the park this week.

And yay, the PI arc is over and Castle's back at the precinct! And aww at the "always".

  2. And that is how you kill off a recurring serial killer duo on a tv show! Well done, bloody but they are dead and with a bang. Nice to see. It was a good arc through out the show but they ended it well and didn't drive it to the ground with like Pelant on Bones. Or Pelant syndrome as I call it.

  3. did you just say BLOODY?! holy crap, did it push the boundaries?

  4. HOLY CRAP,!!!!! I'm kind of glad the episode is over so I can breathe again. Andrew Marlowe and Rob Bowman really outdid themselves with this episode. Jelly Tyson and Dr. Nieman, good riddance!!!!

  5. i honestly thought they'd be behind bars but i guess they were too dangerous to be kept alive right?

  6. Love it Castle playing him like that the captain telling Castle to get in his head not the other way around so happy he back at the precinct even though I didn't mind the pi arc love that Beckett didn't need to be save she save herself love their quote "always" remind me of Haley and Nathan saying "always and forever" on one tree hill or once upon a time Snow and Charming "I'll always find you"

  7. I thought Neiman was scanning Beckett's face so Neiman could have reconstructive surgery performed on herself. After all, she was obsessed with Beckett's facial features. This wack job had to take it a step further and attempt a "Face-Off" procedure.

I couldn't believe Castle was stupid enough to try and take on Tyson by himself in the cabin. Castle had a plan though with Ryan and Esposito backing him up. There was no capture in this plan ... the intent was to take out Tyson permanently. I have a feeling Kate did the same thing with Neiman. I don't think Neiman was skilled or strong enough to overpower Beckett. It looks like Kate went for the kill in self-defense.

I'd be surprised if either Castle or Beckett can brush off what happened to them at the hands of Neiman and Tyson. However, I don't want Rick or Kate to linger on the subject because that's still giving power to the two psychopaths. Maybe the discussion they had in bed is enough for now and the rest will be resolved off screen. I good with that. I'm great with Castle being back in the precinct with the gang. All around a tense, but great episode.

  8. Needs to be another option: FREAKIN' AMAZING!

  9. Just wooow!!! It was soo real!!! their faces!!!! Their expressions!!! I still need to elaborate.

  10. I sorta wish they were in jail too but that means the arc would have to go on longer and if the series ends then that would just be annoying and make people mad. When Castle ends I want it to be satisfying, we don't need another HIMYM-type ending.

  11. Loved it. The past two episodes have been fabulous. Very suspenseful and I liked the team working together. I also loved the direction. Rob Bowman is The Man. I admit I was losing interest with the show after watching the few eps before these.

  13. God I'm alive... this episode was awesome... creepy awesome... And this Heart beat while Castle was searching the house... God my heart was beating at the same rythm... the way this terrible couple ended was the best way indeed... Thanks to Andrew Malowe and Rob Bowman... I'll for sure rewatch again and again...

  14. no we don't but what a hell of an ending

  15. The Castle/Tyson scene remind me of NCIS with Tony being capture and playing with his captor......funny how both are so similar with a sniper killed the captor

  16. It was actually a pretty good episode, surprisingly solid after the past years smoke-and-mirror nonsense two-parters. Glad that they finished off the 3XK line, it was well executed. (no pun intended.) There were some unnecessary theatrics (like Tyson's last moment after the shot), but it's Marlowe, let it be. The overall pace and tension was way better than what they did in the last seasons, maybe the first half of the Alexis two-parter was on par with it. And yeah, that was the last time too when Nathan Fillion had a chance to act something, outside being a clown or a pompous a**hole, so it was a welcome addition.

  17. I absolutely love the multi ep drama sagas that this show does so well.... just well written and loved the performances: Dark vengeful Castle, despiring Castle when he though Kate was dead, to the well conceived but risky ploy to "play the player" that was Tyson and for the serial killer duo to get their just desserts absolutely loved Castle explaining that to Tyson and then calling for Espo to take the shot..... and then the official close of the PI arc and having Castle back in the family.... just a very satisfying arc. Even though it's not really necessary, I am curious how 3XK survived the shooting on the bridge as I don't recall any explanation ( I'll assume some kind of body armor), but he sure didn't survive this one....... kudos to the writers for closing the book on this as other shows might've let the baddies escape/get arrested to return to torment every one again... but after this arc which was over a few seasons, I'm confident that the writers have a lot more good stuff coming and I cannot wait!

  18. On the Top 10 episodes of Castle undoubtfully. I found myself shaking from the agony from time to time. Great episode . this season , and i've said that a lot of times is one of the best. Each episode is better than the last one. How much more can they give us? Great, great job , keep them coming

  19. Truly awesome, amazing and outstanding episode - even better than part 1! ( I need more than one word, because otherwise I don´t know if I´ll ever be able to give an awesome to another episode):):)

  20. Who voted awful or poor?? That episode was probably my favourite, That was insane literally! I was on the edge of my seat! Stana really deserved that award

  21. "Who voted awful or poor" - I´ll put it this way:
    1 - There are true fans who didn´t like the 3XK arc (but honestly that shouldn´t be a motive, the acting alone, particulary NF, deserves at least an ok);
2 - All shows have hatters just because, they don´t even watch but their daily golden moment is voting awful - just ask Beauty and the Beast, Scandal, POI (this one I´ll really never understand how someone gives it an awful), and the list goes on!:)

  22. Never mind ! they just wanted to piss us off.. evrybody even people who watch Castle for the first time found this was a great (Awesome for me) episode...Over the top !

  23. Great episode! Kudos goes to Nathan and the guys they were fantastic and really carried the show in this episode! Good acting, suspense galore, this is what keeps a lot fans coming back week after week!

  24. Agreed! This season has been underwhelming for me but these last two episodes were good.Reminded me of their earlier years before they had Castle & Beckett become a couple.
Its funny how a lot of people don't give Nathan the credit he deserves.Stana is good don't get me wrong but Nathan gets the short end of the stick far too often in this series.

  25. Above Awesome there should be an option for Epic! Wow, just wow... the whole cast and crew should line up and take a bow following this, to deliver an episode arc of such calibre 6 and a half seasons into a show proves how amazing this bunch of people are....

  26. Unfortunately when Marlowe decided to turn Castle into a bumbling clown it meant stripping all the acting chances from Nathan. He has been required to repeat the same two faces and the same smartass voice all the time.
A real shame, partly because he is more talented than this (and he can be funny even when he is acting, not only when he fells on his own legs), partly because this turn made Castle's character much less likable (often unbearable) to me.

  27. Believe me, I wonder myself when there are excellent episodes and people vote awful. It makes no sense!

  28. To answer your questions in one word *Trolls*

  29. What a roller coaster of an Ep. For once Marlowe got it right and Bowman is a vet from XF. But Nathan, wow, amazing job. Glad to see him shine (Firefly ref) this season. Loved how Ryan and Espo backed him and have been great this season, especially in Castle PI. Kate seemed pretty traumatized by it all, so wondering how this will affect her later. We still have to find out what happened to Castle while he was abducted, etc. so there's plenty more drama fodder left. Even tho I really enjoy the lighter episodes, too.

  32. One of the best episodes!! Something that I don't think anyone has mentioned. The episode was filmed very darkly and with a bluish-gray tinge -- VERY spooky and foreboding. The acting was superb - everyone got their teeth into it - even the timing of Alexis' scream as the cops got to her room.

Kudos to all and to us for being lucky enough to watch it.

  33. I loved very second especially how Rick had finally outsmarted Jerry Tyson. Now I wonder did Ryan arrest Amy from Rick's trunk?

    ReplyDelete
  34. I would have found Tyson's death more satisfying if he was shot in the head.

  35. What another awesome episode. From beginning to end. It had me on the edge of my seat. Nathan was amazing. It shows what a awesome actor he is.
I don't understand why people are voting awful. This was one of the best episodes. And I am still sticking with this show is the best show on TV.

  37. We've all known fr some time that Kate Beckett is one girl that doesn't need saving. She will save herself (apart from where Castle helped solve her mother's murder & she ended up marrying him), but if there was any doubt it was definitely vanquished by that sheer look she gave Dr. Nieman once she got herself untied (and also offing the evil doctor & standing next to her pool of blood with a bloody scalpel like a serial killer frm a horror movie helped too!).

All in all this stands as one of the best Castle episodes and certainly as THE best 3XK episode.

    - Gate's close work with Rick was well appreciated. Her character has grown a lot despite the relatively short screen time received & was instrumental to the turnaround of Rick's fortunes in finding Kate.
    - Talking about Rick, I felt Nathan did some amazing work in this 2 parter, and the writers did well to bring up Rick's disappearance.
    - Were Martha & Alexis really shopping abroad once they heard from Rick that everybody was safe? Stress-shopping?
    - Imagine a fake Kate coming to live home with Rick (like in Fringe where Peter spent months in bed & at work with an Olivia frm another universe without fully realizing it) and the season ended in a cliffhanger where Rick finds out she is fake? Would be a genius move!

  38. Dr. Nieman maybe dead but the Actress is far from being off TV as she is set to appear on TVD lol

    ReplyDelete
  39. I actually didn't like it all that much. It was good, but I liked the previous two-parters better. Not nearly enough Beckett in the second episode (her killing Nieman was awesome, would have loved to actually see it). I also wasn't particulary amazed by Castle/Nathan, don't know what some people saw in him there. He's not exactly the perfect fit for an episode like this in my opinion.
Well, I guess the most important thing is thant 3XK is done for good and they can focus now on Castle's disappearence, I can't wait to see what happened in that time.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Well that completely made up for my being a little bored during the setup. Awesome ep.

  41. The one thing castle does best is suspense and drama… oh and comedy (but that's a different post).

That said, I agree with one of the comments below that Castle does not use their secondary actors well. Ryan and Esposito have always been second chair to Castle and Beckett (I get it, the show is called Castle) but they're actually very good actors and can contribute more than exposition. I feel like the show could be better if all the characters contributed to the story equally (or more so than they are currently).

I liken that to Scorpion which utilizes every character in every episode, someone brings something to the table. I wish Castle did that too.

All in all, I still enjoy this show and will continue to watch. :)

  42. The only issue I had with this episode was the 'taking justice into our hands' scenario at the end when Esposito killed Tyson. Will there be backlash from that? Or because Tyson's a killer, is it a justified killing?

I feel like shows get away with that too often and we never see consequences or explanation why it's ok to take matters into their own hands, usually when one of their own is in trouble. Not sure that should qualify for getting away with it but alas, it's tv so it's ok.

So here's my question. Is it a justifiable killing? Because he looked like he was about to shoot Rick, it was ok for Espo to shoot and kill him? Just curious.
