  1. That was a chilling ending. I'm still kind of floored by it. Whoa.
Great episode, though. Creepy, weird case, some lovely moments between Reid and JJ, and a really interesting peek into JJ's state of mind as well. Where the hell she'll go from here after that ending, I don't know, but I'll be interested to find out.

  3. I gave it an 'OK' rating - for the episode in general. The case/profiling was 'Poor', AJ Cook's acting was 'Awesome'.

  4. I look forward to your review! I've missed them over this winter break :D.

  5. Missed them over the break. Liked that the cult leader wasn't the killer. Though having the killer just starting felt weird to me. Loved the scene between JJ and Reid and I'm so glad they've loosened Hotchner up. Liked seeing him give Reid a fist bump. Enjoyed that whole banter scene actually.

  6. That fistbump from Hotch just cracked me up. I was already giggling at Reid's "I'll accept your apology" comment and his attempt to entice Morgan into a fistbump once he was proven right, but Hotch jumping in afterward...so funny. I like it when Reid gets to gloat a little bit :D.
Agreed on the killer, too. It is fun when the show gives us a few suspects to look at before pinning one down.

  7. Haha I feel like my jaw is still wide, wide open. WHAT'S WITH THE ENDING? I don't think things are over...ARE THEY? YIKES! poor JJ. I honestly not sure what to write other than AJ's perfect!!! performance because episode delivered a lot of emotional scenes that I'm still trying to recover from LOL yeah ok I think the cult thing fell a little short but the JJ stuff wow I don't even... what in the world is going on? 😂

You pretty much just nailed my thought process at the end. I was commenting on the episode as it aired with someone else over PMs, and at the end my only response was: "...damn. That ending. Just...damn." It does sound like things are left wide open with that storyline, absolutely, so it'll be interesting to see if they return to it, and how so if they do.
It sounds like most people's feelings on the cult case are similar-looks like we were all pretty much here for the stuff with JJ :p. But yeah, she was fantastic tonight. Her scene where she was in that room talking to Reid, and talking about the facts of the case and losing her baby...so heartbreaking. So, so heartbreaking. I just wanted to hug her (in fact, I kept thinking that throughout the episode-"Somebody give her a hug already, please?!" But then again, I know some people who've been through what she has are hesitant about touch, too, so...).

  9. Thank god you here. I'm honestly going crazy about now lol oh hahahah the end was SOMETHING wasn't it? I'm like isn't this plot supposed to be over? is it over? it does not feel over so IS IT?! thanks for the replay! I guess things are left open I mean there's was no really feeling of closure (except I guess for successful reuniting father and son?) it felt like foreshadowing if anything. I really hope .. scratch that, they BETTER be going back to the plot. You cannot end JJ's PTSD like that lol if you wanted JJ's PTSD to be over with you'd have her fend off Askari and feel a bit better but she wasn't! *sigh*
haha yeah seems there's agreement about the cult. I thought it would be more you know? felt resolved rather easily and quickly but that's ok I guess because the JJ story just blowed me away. AJ was incredible and now I'm going crazy worried (thanks AJ lol) oh it was, it was very sad poor thing. Oh yeah this episode really hurts. (IKR? I totally expect Reid&JJ to hug but nothing?! :o I mean she was in a very fragile state but but but... it's JJ & Reid..they're always hugging! lol)
anyway, sorta underwhelming with the cult
    OVERwhelming with JJ
and I'm dying here thinking the ending couldn't possibly be good. What the hell happens next?

  10. LOL, aw, thanks. The joys of being able to stay up since I don't work tomorrow :p.
But yeah, Askari's words to her about all the things he'd continue to take from her seriously sent a chill down my spine. It felt exactly like a sense of foreshadowing-will this further affect her life with her family (god, the thought of her being distant from her own son about killed me), or her job? Is this going to make her a bit more reckless in the field? Who knows. Whatever happens, yeah, I'm hoping we do get more on that, 'cause I want to see how things are going from there. We get brief, occasional nods to the other team members' past struggles from time to time, so I suspect we'll get that with her, too, at some point, even if it's only a passing mention.
I liked the idea, 'cause, hey, cults are creepy and certainly ripe for serial killers to maneuver about. And I liked the whole thing of a father wanting to save his son from that place, and the means in which the people were killed was disturbing (that guy holding up his hands at one point-eeeeeesh). But yeah, it did seem to kind of quickly peter out towards the end. On the one hand, I'm always glad when children are happily reunited with their parents, but on the other hand, if she'd, say, gotten there too late to save the father, that could've added to her general mindset and brought a whole new level to that creepy ending scene, too.
I so expected them to hug, too. I really thought they would when they were in that little room. But knowing Reid, he probably just wanted to be careful of her physical space-he was already getting involved enough in her emotional space :p (I smiled a bit at JJ's "Stop being...you" comment to him when she pleaded with him to not press the issue). Still, I'm glad they got to talk this out and he was there looking after her-and on that note, the look on his face when he learned about her miscarriage was just...ohhhhhh :(, and his line about seeing a friend hurting and wanting to help...like I didn't already have enough reasons to love the guy. It was also interesting to see him struggling a bit in helping her, too, not knowing the right "word", and being a little flustered on the case after their talk when Hotch showed up at one point.

  13. This is 9:37 AM. I'm very much gonna have to go to work today and work... somehow... lol (gosh I knew I should have taken a day off). Just a thing before I continue: that's not CBS's way of getting rid of AJ is it? I mean think about it whenever a female character got some sort of PTSD/hugely effected she left. Elle left, Emily left, Blake left all in sad terms and it is contract negotiations year after all lol AJ you better NOT be leaving! :o

oh AJ was right it was very intense and yes very chilling... left me shaking more than all that ice did lol :o Angela what you wrote about her son. My gosh if this happens just the thought of this is incredibly heartbreaking!! oh JJ </3 we kinda have to get more on that aren't we? the episode didn't end with JJ really coming to terms with what happened it ended with JJ terrified and being on the edge and also I mean you see Hotch he realizes something is up. I kept waiting for him to talk to JJ...I don't think it over yet...it can't be...what you think Angela? we're gonna see JJ reckless in the field next week of this plot will be at a break (so they can focus on Rossi's friend + plus drive me more crazy)? I feel we get nothing next week but it just has to resurface right? Oh no, no they can't just give us this crazy scene/foreshadowing and pretend then it's closed and just give us occasional mention. There's got to be more to this!

the cult has a nice idea and all but it seriously wrapped up so fast and pretty easy lol I was like O_o
holy... if she had failed to save the kid...yeah you are right! (but but I guess I'm happy she saved, she has enough heartbreak as it is).
Yes, I thought also when they were at the room but good point! Reid being Reid knew how touchy this was and was giving her some space/air. ("stop being...you" was... yeah I loved it! so true haha). I'm glad he was for her. Gosh isn't that crazy/funny/refreshing that Reid is there for JJ? I mean he was always her close friend and there for her but JJ was usually the rock and now it's Reid. Oh JJ (*dies again*). Yeah he's face after she told him about baby :o also lots of great lines between Reid and JJ. Was interesting Reid didn't have word to help JJ... was kinda funny (I'm sorry) when Hotch was talking to Reid and Reid was so off (surly Hotch knows something is up, he knows everything lol).

Well, very soon gotta go to work but it has to be said again:
    WTF with that ending??!

  14. It's 1:55 am here right now :p. LOL, hope you'll be able to handle work today after all that!
I'd briefly wondered about that, too. You raise a good point about there being a precedent with other female team members with this stuff, too. But that said, I somehow don't think that'll be the case-so far from what all I read and see online the cast seems pretty happy still working together, and I'm hoping CBS has learned from the last time they tried to shove a cast member out, so I prefer to think we'll be okay on that front. I hope everyone stays on! I want them all to stay to the end of the series' run :D.
Ha, hey, Askari's the one who put the horrible thought about her and her son in my head, so yell at him :p! But yes, that would just be...ugh. Not to mention, that scene got to the root of a fear that every female wonders about, whether they've been victims of such crimes or not. Just the thought of someone taking so much from you like that is...horrifying.

  15. Oh wow lol yeah, hopefully...somehow! (I sure will be thinking of it on the way) AJ was happy in season 5 and her character still got cut. I strongly hope it doesn't happen again and JJ does stick around. I'm not fond of Kate much but I just mostly I want the team to be left alone lol enough with the coming and going.
Haha oh yeah it is his fault. You know something just DM'd me it felt a beginning of closure for JJ with the way she said "no" wiped tears and left but the episode to me didn't felt like JJ had a winning in the end. You'd think she'd firmly say "no" and "you can't hurt me anymore" and leave better but she just rather took off (music seemed pretty grim to me).
You are right... gosh with that scene. CM you can't give us the scene and expect us to be ok and feel it's over with. It can't be over..it can't be over...she is not fine, she does not seem like she feels better/on the way of recovering.
