the show has gone so down the drain. mostly because of Amy. can't look at her without feeling a little sick. seriously, ugliest person I have ever seen. and I can't stop thinking what a horrible person she is/would be if she was real. enganged to an Arab prince who's paying for her lab, making experiments with animals, always trying to manipulate and change Sheldon, constant unwanted advances to Sheldon and Penny - why would anyone create a character like that, cast an incredibly ugly actress for it and then make her a regular?
A few chuckles, loads of character development -and getting to know some other sides of Raj-, and overall it left me with a smile in my face. I think it was one of the strongest episodes of the season, even if it wasn't the one I laughed the hardest on
In real life, Mayim is a lovey and intelligent woman. This show really dresses her down and makes her bland looking. For some reason, Amy is chosen to be the unfashionable woman with little concern for hair styling or makeup. Penny is the total package in terms of looks, but not so much in "smarts". Bernadette on the hand is the attractive and intelligent lady who lacks a filter at times and tells it like it is. My point being there isn't any female character on this show who is "perfect".
Amy is written to be Sheldon's mirror image. The incredibly intelligent person who lacks in social graces and appearance. How many times have we seen Sheldon wear the same super hero t-shirts, slacks, and shoes over the years? I'm glad Sheldon is experiencing some person growth. I wish the writers would do the same for Amy. After all, look at how far Raj and Howard have come.
Oh yeah, with Leonard moving out gradually, I see a lot of potential there. Howard and Bernadette felt like a boring old married couple in this episode, so I hope there is an interesting storyline for them coming up, too.
Oh god! I'm soooo rooting for Leonard to move out. You have no idea. Sheldon's been irking me a few times this season with his "not accustomed to change attitude" I'm ready for him to actually move on and live by himself. (Though I wouldn't object if he luced with Amy, but who are we kidding) I can't wait til Leonard leaves, I will be cheering.
The episode was so boring I actually looked away from my TV like 5 times. During the episode, not commercials
I started watching this show from the begining an where it is now I can not even stand it anymore, it feels so dumb down. You would think it would have some Frasier like qualitys.
I know Amy is supposed to be an ugly duckling, but come on, they don't really have to do much to make her look the way she looks on the show. Mayim Bialik is anything but attractive in real life. and don't just assume she's intelligent, because she has a PHD. it's just neuroscience, not theoretical physics ;)
The only good thing about it was Ray. Almost always he's the dummy, but seeing him in this episode was really kinda nice. He was mature (at least how much the series allows it) and it was good to see him serious about his religion and his life which he was all nervous about.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
It was ok. I was expecting more. I'd really like them to give Amy a makeover one day...although it wouldn't help. lol but it'd still be nice to see.

I've stopped watching from now which sucks because this show used to be one of my favourites
ReplyDeleteProbably the weakest episode this season, so far.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. But I'm positive it'll get better the rest of the season.
ReplyDeleteSo does that mean you won't even watch the tribute episode???
