“I Alone” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL — Damon (Ian Somerhalder) finds himself in hot water after he carries out a plan that requires Alaric’s (Matt Davis) unwilling participation. When Elena (Nina Dobrev) shares some hopeful news with Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) about Bonnie (Kat Graham), she is caught off guard by his reaction. Liv (guest star Penelope Mitchell) helps Damon and Elena with their plan to get Bonnie back, but when things take an unexpected turn, she’s left with a difficult choice to make. Elsewhere, Matt (Zach Roerig) takes matters into his own hands when Enzo’s (Michael Malarkey) actions cross the line, and Kai’s (guest star Chris Wood) existence continues to be a dangerous threat. Paul Wesley and Michael Trevino also star. Kellie Cyrus directed the episode written by Brian Young & Holly Brix (#609). Original airdate 12/4/2014

  1. Hmmm one of the odder press releases this season. Read it twice and don't have a real clue what will happen.
    And why Caroline won't appear?

  2. What wait no Caroline :(

  3. So Kai got out but Bonnie didn't? That sucks. Anyway, I'm guessing that whatever Damon did that required Ric had something to do with needing his new doctor girlfriend for something.

  4. Kai is still just a threat. I assume he is chasing Bonnie around in the Limbo, there was a recent pic of Bonnie running in front of a Hospital so this could be connected. Think Kai will pass into present time during the MS final.

  5. I'm not so sure. They're very vague and the synopsis for the finale (right after this episode) has Bonnie reminiscing and making holiday plans by herself so I'm not convinced she's the one being bothered by Kai at that point.

  6. Inconclusive! But either way Kai will exit the limbo by mseason. Still not so sure what the have in store for Bonnie as the season progresses.

  7. Just reading this synopsis makes me think that TVD will get repetitive as they so often do. Liv is going to cut out on a spell during a rescue attempt (again) and somehow Damon is going to get stuck in the pocket universe with Bonnie (again) while Kai gets to run amok in the real world.

  8. Hmm. What did Enzo do again? Hmm, Matt takes matters into his own hands - I wonder if Matt will end up apologizing to Enzo after whatever crisis he (Enzo) created is taken care of. This show, unfortunately rolls that way.

  9. I'm pretty sure Kai gets out in episode 8, and not later. And I think that the first thing he does is go after his sister (Jo): Meanwhile, dinner takes a drastic turn when Jo, who has revealed some painful deails about her past, finds herself fighting for her life, leaving Alaric scrambling to help from adistance. Finally, Kai makes a dangerous discovery that brings him one step closer to his release.

And the threat he continues to pose is surely in MF. Also, by the looks of this synopsis and the one for 6x10, my guess is Bonnie gets out at the end of episode 9.

  10. It's very possible that Kai will get out early but the synopsis for 6x10 suggests to me that she's still in the pocket universe when the finale starts.

  11. That 's possible, too. :)

  12. That's right Damon, ass better get Bonnie. I see Elena is tagging along, hope she won't screw nothing up, most likely she will.

  13. I on the other hand think Elena or Caroline will mess up something and switch places with Bonnie. Either way they will take advantage of the limobo.

  14. Also a possibility. I wouldn't put it past TVD to start playing musical chairs with a pocket universe.

  15. It's a Matt/Tyler/Jeremy/Alaric/Enzo episode. Only Paul/Ian/Nina are in every episode - the others rotate, but Caroline does normally make it into more episodes a season than the guys do.

  16. Hm, I don't think that's going to happen. What would be the point? And I certainly hope not.

  17. What exactly is Stefan's role this season beside being a growing love interest for Caroline? Disappointing story arc's for the two.

  18. It's obvious that Kai is already out of the purgatory in this episode. I like Damon and Elena trying to rescue Bonnie instead of arguing about something stupid. They should have done that since Damon came back.
I don't know what Enzo is going to do.Maybe something related with the vampire hunters?

  19. yeah well Kai's the Big Bad so don't count him out just yet and hey this the fist technically evil witch on the vampire diaries

  20. Stefan's job, this season (aside from having been a jerk to Caroline in the past episodes), is to go around apologizing to everyone and feel guilty for eternity because he gave up looking for Damon (after having searched all around the world for 2 months and coming up with nothing).

  21. seriously, he might as well stayed dead on the other side. the writers drove this character to a boring pathetic dead end.
if I were TPTB I'd bring him back as a Traveler (since Silas was a traveler) at least he'd have some shred of a story left.

  22. i wonder y caroline wont appear

  23. at least enzo and kai is in this episode

  24. As suspected, kai is in mystic falls and bonnie is not which is not a surprise actually since she is the one ends up sacrificing everything in this show from the beginning! The only thing interesting here is the way kai got out coz we know he needs bonnie's magic to do it and what was bonnie doing when he was doing that, watching his hot body?Urgh!
Enzo doing something out of line is old news,i wonder what that is!
I am happy to see the team is trying to save bonnie out of that purgatory.I guess damon's little white lie comes out in episode 8-that will go well!
Please give stefan some storyline or get him out of the show,he has become the most useless character on the show besides jeremy of course!
    Overall,looks like a action-packed episode,can't wait!!

  25. I feel like they haven't known what to do with Stefan since Season 4. He had the ripper plot-line in Season 3, but then in Season 4 he was just kind of hanging out trying to fix Elena and complain about Delena with Caroline, then in Season 5 Stefan didn't do much - he was just an object the Travelers wanted and didn't have a consistent arc, now in Season 6 him moving away from MF and starting over was where he needed to be but they took that away from him.

  26. Because all the other secondary characters are in this episode.

    ReplyDelete
  27. at least in season five he was suffering from the trauma, that was interesting imo.

  28. Dude, you speak too much truth.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Maybe because it was filmed while she was on the honeymoon with her hubby?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Enzo has become the new Damon. Now that they have Damon not doing as many terrible things, they now use Enzo to fill that void. :P He's even has the same snarky cockiness.

    ReplyDelete
  31. ......with a nice accent!

    ReplyDelete
  32. As Sara says, Caroline is always missing from a couple of eps each season. But the timing of her missing this ep might be due to Candice's honeymoon. Only guessing but it'd probably fit :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. true true, with the honeymoon thing
