1 : When Missy pretended to be a droid because of Twelve's face when she snogged him... priceless. 2 : When it was revealed that Danny killed a boy when he was a soldier. The scene was very short but so intense. No kidding, it made me shiver. 3 : The three words, of course... damn, now I'm afraid of the afterlife ! 4 : Nethersphere is Time Lord technology : I was like what the ... you know the next word ! 5 : Missy is the Master. I know many people figured it out but still, it was a big reveal...
There were so many great scenes in this episode ! Those are the ones I chose but truth be told, I could have chosen all the others...
The 3 Words were a brave choice to go with, I think some will complain about them being in the show even though they went totally over the head of the children I watched with. Very effective to show how evil Missy and Seb really are though aren't they, puts a shiver down your spine!
My uncle guessed it was the master half way through the episode i didnt believe him and my jaw dropped when it was true...... So the doctor was snogged by the master......there is a first for everything i suppose
Exactly ! If you really pay attention, this episode was hard at some points (hard may not be the best word choice but I can't find one that really fits). I mean, the three words, the little boy Danny killed, Clara slowly dropping her phone when she realizes something happened to Danny and the following scene where we actually see what happened... they were very brief scenes but very strong, and that's another thing I like about this episode !
Me too, it didn't hold back. As I said in my preview though, most of this was more cerebral - it was stuff to think about rather than visual horror - so a lot of it went over the heads of the children I watched the episode with really. They were far more interested in the skeletons, Cybermen, what happened to Clara and laughing at the swearing joke, lol. On the whole (there will always be exceptions, of course) I think it worked well as a family drama in that respect.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteThe final reveal. I had already figured it out, like many others, but hearing it be confirmed still gave me shivers!
