  1. I'm now convinced more than ever of Stefan's feelings for Caroline. He's trying so hard to distance himself from her and it's doing more harm than good.

I kinda like that Stefan is doing something for himself for once, actually pursuing happiness. He deserves to get away from the "Elena" of everything. Even though I'm a huge Steroline shipper, I approve of this development.

  2. It was good, I don't like Delena so I could have done with less of that but an interesting start. They had a lot of pieces to put in place. I liked how the had Elena/Caroline bookend the episode one false brightness, the other sad reality.

Hated that we only got a very brief Bonnie scene at the end but it was entertaining. Really looking forward to this oblivion story for Bonnie/Damon.

  3. I think I'm done with the show. It has no storyline, no tension, nothing to wait for it. Did not like this episode and don't think I will like any other to come.

  4. I voted good. I mean it could've been a lot worse, and i was still paying attention every step of the way. Idk for me, Alaric really saved it for me. I mean i'm just so glad to have him back, every time he popped up on screen i couldn't help but grin. And i laughed when he spoke to Elena in the classroom. Thinking of the webclip i said "ah, there it is." There's the answer to our question.

Caroline and Luke also saved it for me. I like Luke, and i liked his hair better than last season. LOL Caroline seemed so down in the dumps it really bothered me. I also enjoyed seeing Matt taking self defense classes. I thought that was a nice little change for him.

As for Delena, I loved it. I did. I mean ok he was a hallucination but i enjoyed all the scenes. I mean they're still my OTP no matter what. I didn't realize how much i missed them until that very first scene with them on the bench. I just found myself smiling and thinking awww i miss him!! And WTF Damon in that plaid shirt is a NO NO NOOOOO!! Bonnie looked good though, she really did. And those vampire pancakes were so cute. lol i may have to make those. lol .

Ok, now for the stuff i hated. Tyler, Liv, Liz., not so much Jeremy, I actually felt kinda bad for him, and not so much Stefan, I like when he has the IDGAF ATTITUDE, it makes him tolerable for me. But i felt i got a lot of Paul out of that performance. Did anyone else feel that way? Just me? And i HOPE Alaric doesn't do that for Elena despite the promo for next week, i will be HIGHLY upset for so many reasons.

Also this episode felt VERY off. Like something was missing. It was just there, i mean i think there was exactly one second where i felt bad for everyone as a whole. Cause ya know it's our MF group but that was it. I mean Elena did her emotional thing, Tyler did his struggle thing, Jeremy did his emo thing, Stefan did his martyr thing, Caroline was freaking out, Matt was doing his disapproval thing and Liz was just doing her lame covering up as Sheriff thing, and it just felt sooo anti-climatic, it really felt like the end. I was watching, but i felt everyone felt bored. And by everyone i mean the actors. Idk maybe it was just me. Basically I was watching but wsn't getting anything out of it. Idk if it's cuz i knew half of the episode or if it really was the lameness that poured out of the episode. OR if it was the underwhelming acting and cheesy dialog, but something was off through that whole hour.

Anyways that's all i can say, my comments are usually longer than this when it comes to this show, but i'm just underwhelmed. i wasn't impressed, i wasn't even so angry that i felt the need to vent for an hour plus. It's just a shrug moment i'm having. I do hope the next episode is better, ohh and i did like some of the music they played. One thing i can always count on is great music from TVD. One song i knew and i think two i liked. So i'll check those out.

  5. ...you're complaining it doesn't have a storyline in the first episode of the season which was advertised as being almost entirely about Elena trying to move on after Damon's death?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Aydrian, enlighten me? As a fellow Steroline shipper (as you already know) I'm curious to hear you out on that theory? I didn't see what you saw. I mean he was angry he broke his phone but i didn't take that as any type of symbolism, so please share with me? Cuz i missed it.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I'm really not sure, was it better than season 4 and 5? Would I have enjoyed it?

    ReplyDelete
  8. I am just so tired of Elena always grieving all the time in pretty much every season. And her whining and whining. This is all I heard out of her the whole ep. Whinnnne, I didn't get my way. Whinnnne, everyone needs to let me have my way. Whinnne, OMG, I'm not getting my way. UGH. This ep was too focused on all this. And then asking for Alaric to make her forget. Blah.

    ReplyDelete
  9. "Would i?" You didn't watch it yet?

    ReplyDelete
  10. im still crying, aaaah but what's up with Bamon? what kinda 'dream world' do they live in?

    ReplyDelete
  11. wanted to wait for the fan response first, season 4 and 5 literally crushed me due to the quality implosion. Was hoping to hear good stuff about the episode so I could either get my hopes up again or just avoid the episode :/

    ReplyDelete
  12. Ok..............so "BorElena strikes again, thanks Jules (No Spoilers.........not that it would matter)! BECAUSE DIARIES WERE ONCE 4 READING, I am still Nobody!!!

    ReplyDelete
  13. are you kidding me? that was the best episode imo in a long time, it was focused on ALL of the characters not just the main trio, caroline, EVEN JEREMY TYLER AND MATT all got great character development! this is what I want, not some random "storylines" that you seem to want. At least this episode had a more honest portrayal of all these people we've grown to care about. Keep up the character work tvd, very fresh premiere, reminded me of season 1 and 2

  14. loved damon and elena aside from the fact that he was a hallucination, i really wanted stefan to rip his boss' throat out, alaric lost his game lol and wow meredith got married weird, where the heck are damon and bonnie and why are they acting like nothing happened and like they're married

    ReplyDelete
  15. Ok, just finished watching and I can't believe I actually liked it, well all of it except for the "help me forget" part. If they really go down that path, I'll have to stop watching again. I'm not going to watch half a season of Bamon getting back amongst the living, only to have to watch the remaining half of Elena remembering/falling in love with Damon again.

  16. Caroline annoyed me. I think it's mainly because I like the anti-magic barrier and I want it to stay and think she needs to move on with her life. Also that dress she was wearing looked like a shirt and I needed her to find some pants.

Damon killed himself. It wasn't Luke's fault - so that also annoyed me and I hated that they were acting like Luke killed Damon or something.

I'd like for Damon & Bonnie to stay dead and see the characters actually move forward but I doubt that will happen.

    ReplyDelete
  17. No.... it was literally Elena sobbing over someone who she really didn't love that much. That love came from a sirebond and fan servicing and it's sick that it consumed the entire episode. And randomly... I despise the way Nina Dobrev says consumed so that makes me hate it that much more. Just what girls need as a rolemodel though. A girl who wants two boys to love her, can't handle shit, always needs to be babied, always acts like the victim and that her feelings are most important, and most importantly TAKES DRUGS to hallucinate her dead boyfriend but just shoves off her best friend who's she's known for fucking ever... She's pathetic and honestly I feel sorry for her because she has fallen so so far from who she was before Damon turned her into him.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Elena please grow a brain and stop being a pathetic fuck who can't deal with shit and chooses to move on from her supposed best friend but can't get over her boyfriend of like less than a year who was terrible anyways... it's not like he deserved to live after everything he's done.... Ugh and her belittiling everything she had with Stefan when that was the whole first damn 3 seasons of this show.. For her to spit on that relationship makes me hate her so much. And the whole episode was about her. The people that the audience actually wants to see get like 5 minutes of screentime. Nina is great but Elena is shit.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Be involved in the kind of relationsip that Damon and Elena have (him being childish and stupid and her making excuses and staying with him anyways because she foolishly 'loves him'... love is not enough and in this case I really think alot of her love is sirebond after effects but whatever.. there's no other reason to explain her extreme character change).. anyways be in that type of relationship and you won't ship it at fucking all. It literally destroys. In fiction it seems nice... well not to most people but whatever... in real life it is the worst thing that can happen to you because it changes you in ways you don't like. So don't try and turn this into some romantic love thing because that girl just took drugs because she's too weak to even move on because of how he changed her. Her fucking parents died and she got over that but she can't get over this.. it's because Damon made her weak. Honestly just think about this in relation to real life for just one second and you'll see how sick it is. I hope to God that you don't have to go through a relationship like theirs.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Honestly we were fucking hoping the writers wouldn't be that fucking dumb to think that advertising a pathetic girl who resorts to drugs to deal with the loss of her piece of shit boyfriend was just a ploy and there would actually be more of the cast involved... nope.. huge dissapointed. I wish y'all would realize that the majority don't like delena. That's why the ratings have dropped. I'm not saying they like stelena, maybe they don't like any ships... but the ratings were much higher when stefan and elena were together. And it definitely felt more real. And Paul and Nina's chemistry kicks Nina and Ian's 12 times over and I'm sorry but anyone who denies that is a fool. They've played like so many different characters in love and they've all been amazing.. Ian should take notes.

  21. I laughed so hard at that last escene!.
It was a great begining of season, the only thing that was meh! was Tyler, we have been there already with him.
Stefan answering Elena but avoiding Caroline, makes think that there is more there, maybe it's because he knows Caroline will convince him to come back to get the "gang" together whereas Elena is trying to find a way to bring Damon back and not trying to move on.

    ReplyDelete
  22. It was okay, a bit to Elena centric. I liked Caroline all the way and even enjoyed Liv and Tyler a bit .

    ReplyDelete
  23. I didn't saw it either as a shipping machine, more as Caroline the guilt machine.Stefan can't stand to get a doze of guilty. But pf course there are some lingering feelings .

    ReplyDelete
  24. It was not a typical TVD premiere episode.Instead it had a more calm tone & in this case it worked for me.We got to see where everyone stands and the mystery will build up slowly. They fast-paced through their storyline in the first half of season and that resulted in disaster!Kinda missed enzo in action!Alaric was a sight for sore eyes, seeing him again made me realise how much i missed him.The episode was very fresh and reminiscent of season 1.Looking forward to the next episode!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Awesome episode, strange ending. Very strange ending. But awesome episode, because probably we will see a lot of mystery and a lot of fun this season. And not to mention the fight to get back in town.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Very boring episode, to be honest i only liked the final seconds with Bonnie and Damon..and it really is a irony that the only people happy on this show right now are the dead ones, lmao

    ReplyDelete
  27. i liked it.. hope this season be better than the last one..

    ReplyDelete
  28. You will be back next week.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I liked the Tyler/Liv tension.

    ReplyDelete
  30. It was really great to have Rick back!! I even liked Tyler this episode. But I am so done with all of the Elena drama. Oh, the ending was really strange!!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. It was actually a good episode, I liked it, especially the second part, which was a lot better than the first part. Hope it gets great ratings!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. "this is what I want, not some random "storylines" that you seem to want."

Look at you, immediately making it personal. Highly mature.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Not that TVD is a realistic show, but if I had lost that many people (one of them being my boyfriend), I would be grieving as well and whining and probably for a very very long time.
I think it would be weird if she was not grieving. Would you not do that if that happened to you? Either the Elena haters lack basic empathy or maybe it's just easier to hate than actually coming up with better ideas for her storyline other than "blah I want her gone".

    ReplyDelete
  34. The show was always about her, if you didn't get that after season 1 it's your own fault you continued watching that long.
Also, would you not grieve after your boyfriend died?! It would be weird if she was okay with him being dead. Seriously, as if it was a surprise that they were dealing with that in this episode.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I wasn't expecting much from it, but I think it was an alright episode ... it even had a little throwback to season 1. I'm intrigued by what Damon and Bonnie are up to and where they are!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I actually it. It and felt like that the show was trying to move in a new direction. I liked Luke and Liv's addition to the cast and it looks like Alaric might have a more interesting role. I'm just hoping that they continue along this trend and allow for good character development. The writers have a way of reverting to the same old stories and love triangles and I'm crossing my fingers that it doesn't happen this time. I was hoping we'd see more of Damon and Bonnie, but maybe in the nest episode?. I was also happy to see Tyler getting more screentime and I liked the chemistry between Tyler and Liv. Sadly, no matter what Jeremy and Matt do, both characters continue to bore me. It not that I don't like the characters, I just feel like the writers don't know what to do with them.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I found it really boring. There was no storyline driving the episode. I understand and appreciate the time spent on the characters' grieving processes, but it started getting over the top. As someone else mentioned, the final scene was the only thing that had me intrigued.

    ReplyDelete
  38. ofc it's personal, it's my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I didn't watch the episode yet but, reading your comment about Dries, for experience I want to tell you this: DO YOU NOT TRUST what the producers and the writers say! I Trusted with Chicago Fire and I got my heart broken. My advice? Just wait and see what happen. I know this comment is off topic somehow, but I'm just want to give you some advice to prevent you from a broken heart like mine and I wanted to vent a little to my wounded feelings <3 hahahaha

I personally liked it. It wasn't the best episode but it felt like a step in the right direction. It's a lot slower and more personal when it comes to the characters. Between all the characters I think they covered the 5 stages of grief too.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I loved it, it was really emotional and that final scene I was like WTF?!?!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'm done watching this show.

Good luck to all who continue to do so!

    ReplyDelete
  43. It was more like the series premiere, but this one was WAY better, loved it.

    ReplyDelete
  44. sounds interesting, anything giving the characters more depth is fine with me. Especially since they pretty much de-humanized Elena last season and turned her into a drag-along-doll for Damon.

I'll give it a shot tomorrow night, thanks Chris :D

    ReplyDelete
  45. Christopher DeBono3 October 2014 at 16:02

Oh Elena's still fairly de-humanized, though at least her actions make some sense now (since she's grieving). Near the end of the episode though she gets Alaric to do something that should (I hope) change things up for the character though.

    ReplyDelete
  46. The entire episode was cringe worthy, until the last 60 seconds.

    ReplyDelete
  47. We get it, you're a diehard Elena fan. Others of us would like to see something more original than the same old thing every season. This ep was mediocre at best.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Weak opening for a season, but I agree the ending was fun and I want to see where this leads.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Liked all the scenes that did not involve Elena. So... Like, five scenes? Hoping to see less of her moaning and crying and biting people in the next episode.

Loved the scene with Bonnie and Damon at the end.

    ReplyDelete
  50. There are other characters in that show, maybe they should focus on them a bit? Like Alaric and Bonnie? Just a thought. One character does not a show make.

Yes,one should grieve for ones boyfriend. I saw very little of that in this episode. She was in denial.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Though Elena was, is and always will be the center of the show, they usually show more of the other characters then they did in this episode.
However, given what happened in the S5 Finale, it was really obvious that this episode was going to be one of the more Elena-centric ones.

Btw, denial is one of the 5 stages of grieve...

    ReplyDelete
  52. Rephrase that please?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Actually, I'm not. But I don't hate her either, as apparently many people do -and this is also the first time I ever commented on an Elena-comment.
I get that the storyline gets old at one point, I also agree that the episode was definitely not one of the better ones. What about the other things I said about grief? Elena's reaction to all of this is quite normal, even for a supernatural and in many other aspects unrealistic show. Blame the writers, not the character.

    ReplyDelete
  54. so rigth and while she´s being pathetic Bonnie and Damon are enjoing the place they are. Delena didn´t work they were more off than on and at the end thanking him for all he has done come on!!!!! he is the good guy now!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Believe me, I definitely blame the writers. However, we are stuck with Elena. And Elena doesn't deal with her grief. She either shuts off her emotions, drugs herself up or begs to have her memories wiped. It's time she really deals with things.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Yeah,I guess *shrugs* A good point you make, but eeh... Pretty much every episode of this show is Elena-centric. That is why I stopped watching this show a while back. I came back for the premiere because I wanted to see some scenes with Damon and Bonnie.

    ReplyDelete
  57. So . . .Stefan breaking his phone was not a sign of him being in love with her. It's about the way Caroline makes him feel. He couldn't stand her being disappointed with him cause he moved on. Remember how he was hiding from her that he killed Enzo, something similiar to that.

    ReplyDelete
  58. It was a good episode. It shows the situation of ALL the characters. Sure,it was a bit Elena-centric but that's normal given the fact that she is one of the main characters.
I don't know what to think abourt the last scene. It was so unDamon with the pancakes and the weird clothes. But I'm sure it will have a logical explanation(as logical as a tv show about vampires, werewolves and witches can be) probably related with the 90's flashback.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Great opener.

Despite TVD's current woes, they have a really good cast of characters and actors. If they use all of them like they did in this episode, it makes the episode and show so much better. TVD at its best, is a CW king, even at its worst its still better than a lot of shows on there.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Ah, i see what ur saying. Actually i wasn't even thinking he was in love with her b/c he broke his phone. I was just watching, haha, i usually go for the "hidden meaning" but in that particular scene i had nothing. so thanks. lol

    ReplyDelete
  61. I was sooooo bored, and that's the nicest thing i could say about the episode.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I'm confused why is Tyler not a hybrid anymore but Alaric is still a vampire?

    ReplyDelete
  63. After watching the first ep.... I think the actors are ready to start phoning in their lines. lol Sry it came off really flat to me........JP's picked a dilly of a title for ep2 "Yellow Bedwetter"......Did I read it too fast???

    ReplyDelete
  64. This show needs to wind down and make this the final season. The writing has gotten tired. Same old same old.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Actually the show was about Elena, Stefan and Damon...now it is our magic snowflake.

    ReplyDelete
  66. ♥ Carina loves TVD ♥6 October 2014 at 07:01

Because Tyler died inside of Mystic Falls. The Anti-Magic spell took his vampirism away but he still went to the other side because of his werewolfgene
