I do interviews and write articles for the site in addition to reviewing a number of shows, including Supernatural, Arrow, Agents of Shield, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Forever, Defiance, Bitten, Glee, and a few others! Highlights of this past year include covering San Diego Comic Con as press and a set visit to Bitten. When I'm not writing about television shows, I'm often writing about entertainment and media law in my capacity as a legal scholar. I also work in theatre when the opportunity arises. I'm an avid runner and rider, currently training in dressage.

Peggy showing up with the Commandos to shut that HYDRA shit down was unexpected and pretty damn great! Makes me eager to see Agent Carter!

The scenes with Fitz were.... god, I can't even explain it. Watching him struggling to articulate and Simmons' gentle nudging towards the answers were brutal enough as it is, but the fact that she's not there? He's created her in his mind to cope? NOT OKAY, WRITERS. NOT OKAY.
Hated the scene where Skye visits Ward, just because it was so obvious that Skye was so disgusted and disturbed and she was only doing it because it's her duty. I love her and I feel for her. Gotta say though, Brett is killing it with the creep factor!
Simmons isn't there. And the main reason I picked it was because Iain killed it with his acting that he really thinks she is and he thinks the others are babying him. He's basically stuck in a Tyler Durden Fight club situation and he doesn't even know. I gotta be honest though as much as I was rooting for the broken Fitz storyline I suddenly am sad about it seeing it actual happen on screen. It so much more sad to watch even if its not real and its just a tv show. Like Tara being mentally damaged on those Buffy episodes after she had her brain drained by the baddie or Topher on Dollhouse after being tortured in the future by the enemy. Even Summer on Firefly. I hope they find a cure or at least semi recover him by the mid season episodes because its going to hurt to see him like this every episode this season otherwise.
ReplyDeleteI know I felt so bad for Skye having to be the one who gets to talk creepy prisoner Ward. I know she's the only who he will talk to but still way to stick the woman with the crappy interrogation job every time they need his help now. I would be creeped out to if I was her getting stuck with that job and having to manipulate him for answers while he talks about his suicide attempts. Thanks for the job Coulson.

ReplyDeletePeggy's opening scene was wothout a doubt my favourite one, but the revelation about Simmons being Fitz hallucination completely blinsided me, I would' ve never thought she would leave him!!! Oh Jemma, WHY?!?!
ReplyDeleteBecause of that my votes go for Simmons not being there and Peggy with the Howling Commandos in that order.
I picked the Ward scene simply because of what they have had Ward been doing. Suicide attempts, his general demeanour. Im still not entirely convinced he isnt letting Skye manipulate him ... after what he managed to do last season I still think he is far far better skilled in this than Skye ever will be.
ReplyDeleteI know this is a 'Super hero marvel' show but the fact they are talking suicide in the show (at least depicting part of the process) gives the show almost a real edge. Ward's life has been one crapfest after another and the fact that he will now be locked up forever AND the fact he is still a core cast member makes for a very interesting slow character arc for his character.
I liked the infiltration of Tablot's base, the searching for the weapons and then the awful stuff that happened to Izzy and then the end montage.

May riding off on the bike was great - but somewhat marred by the fact that she didn't take a single bullet! ;)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite scene was definitely the scene where we find out that Simmons left the team and Fitz's has been hallucinating about her this whole time. That felt like a punch in the gut but Iain's acting was absolutely fantastic. I respect him so much.
ReplyDeleteNo kidding... and that scene when three guys just stop shooting as soon as Skye pops from behind her cover and stand still so that she can take them all out. Seriously?... These guys weren't even trying.

ReplyDeleteSimmons not being actually here... I didn't see that coming at all. I felt already bad for Fitz but understanding that he "recreated" her in his mind so he wouldn't have to be alone kinda broke my heart :(
