  1. That first episode looks intense.

  2. aweome promo can't wait for it

  3. Francesca called him Niklaus? For some reason I just find it odd. Looks great though.

    ReplyDelete
  4. From the extended promo before and this current one, seems like TO has a lot to offer in their first batch of episodes! Just hoping they don't run out of ideas in the second half like previous season.Bring something new other than who's gonna take over the town theme they have been playing the whole season last year!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Now thats a trailer unlike its sister show.TO looks so so good from the promos but I cant bring myself to watch it because of the writers.I dont trust them after how badly they screwed TVD after S3.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I've missed this show. I've lost faith in TVD long ago and prefer The Originals. Every episode is intense and filler-free.
I'm so ready for Klaus to come back and teach everyone who messed with him a lesson.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Agreed, this show is far better. So much less love triangle crap and better use of characters. I'm in particular looking forward to him threatening to kill Caleb/ Daniel Sharman/ Isaac from Teen Wolf.

    ReplyDelete
  8. We haven't seen much of Daniel in the first promo. They're probably keeping him under wraps so I don't know if I should like or hate his character. All I know is he's the new love interest for Davina. It would be interesting to see him side with Klaus while she's on the other side though I don't mind seeing him as the new target for Klaus. :)

    ReplyDelete
  9. From what I've heard he's a witch/ paranormal psychologist who intends to stir up trouble with The Originals. That and the Davina thing. Though I've heard he might just be using her.The other side doesn't exist anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Give it a try. It's pretty good.

    ReplyDelete
  11. haha well, I wonder how long will it take for Klaus to get angry because of him. Probably not long. It's Klaus we're talking about here. Is he a part of the main cast? Hope he does stay for a long time. I liked him as Isaac in Teen Wolf.

    ReplyDelete
  12. As did I. Don't miss him though.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Less triangles?Really? They have already Klaus-Marcel-Cami, Elijah-Hayley-Jackson and if they go to Elijah-Hayley-Klaus it will be total mess like tvd.

    ReplyDelete
  14. The first isn't a triangle, Klaus only sees her as a friend and Marcel slept with Cami once and Cami has no romantic feelings for Klaus. Hayley being a hybrid (Jackson hates hybrids) kills it, that and it was clear she cares for Elijah romantically not Jackson. Not confirmed yet about three, but yes I fear that happening. But this show has less focus on romance and drama derived from it than RvD and knows when to place the plot a head of it. So I'm not too worried as of right now.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Of course Klaus don't not sees Cami as a friend. It's very clear that he likes her as a woman. We haven't seen yet season2 to know what comes next.
Jackson hates hybrids but i doubt that he'll hate Hayley. The 2 triangles are what the writers decided to follow. The three is not a triangle yet but i don't want even to talk about it as an option.Too similar to tvd.
I hope you are right, but i am worried when it comes to Julie Plec.

  16. This looks good, but judging by the extended promo and the interviews with the producers, I have a feeling it's going to repeat the process of being heavily carried by the first quarter of the season. Why do they feel the need to rush everything? Why are Esther and Mikael gonna be revealed by, like, episode one? Why is everyone playing their cards out in the open? They move from one stage to another so quick. I wish they'd go for a slow-burning process.

    ReplyDelete
  17. unfortunately she's gonna die in the 2nd episode because JuliePlec has a tendency to kill off the interesting characters (Kol, Katherine, Silas, Celeste) and keep the boring ones (Hayley, Cami, Matt, Jeremy)

    ReplyDelete
  18. Klaus clearly doesn't see Cami as just a friend, their relationship is a lot more complex than that. I do agree that the show isn't all about triangles, they do have some, but it's not the central focus. It doesn't take away from the show.

    ReplyDelete
  19. TO always starts intensely and then suddenly slopes into Haley/Elijah - will they won't they; and Klaus Marcel - will he kill him or won't he territory.
I am not really excited for Mikael to be back because they didn't give him enough motivation to single out Nik. If they showed that he knew about the cheating but didn't know it was with a werewolf, then his hatred would make a lot more sense.
I see that original Esther actress is in it. So why am i forced to watch some shorty to try and impersonate her? Why not get in first actress?
and i want original Finn too!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Loving how the logo is looking bloody now.
Gives it a more mature kind of look. Excited :D Too much Klaus and Hayley though,

thou shall give me more Elijah !

    ReplyDelete
  21. I never found Silas all that interesting after they had almost all their actors play him before his true form was shown. Hayley and Cami are fine and way more important than Matt and Jer who should have died and stayed dead years ago.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Julie obviously wanted Klaus/Cami to be a ship on the show - but none of the viewers latched onto it so they have next to no fanbase so she may not pursue it, but it was obviously her back-up plan (Klaus/Hayley was supposed to be the main ship on the show but then when the fans reacted to badly to 4x16 and 4x20 they decided to try and move away from that and for some bizarre reason decided that Hayley HAD to be paired with either Klaus or Elijah when they should have just let her be single).

    ReplyDelete
  23. I didn't think Silas was that great (he was too much like Stefan) but I generally agree with this comment. She also has a tendency to kill off characters before their time.

I don't think killing off Celeste was horrible, but they killed her off way too early. There was so much potential with her character and her relationship with Elijah that needed to be explored first. They could have saved killing her off for the season finale and had her pretty much be Elijah's main storyline (instead of having him randomly obsess over Hayley).

Kol they really needed to keep because this show needs another Original sibling and they knew that Claire may not do the show or would not be staying past Season 1 - so I think Kol is really needed as the wildcard to shake things up.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Those are true, but that doesn't make them existent anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  25. That unfortunately is true. I kinda like Cami though, she isn't completely useless unlike Matt and has a weird yet interesting friendship with Klaus that I like since it helps bring out his humanity.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Simple if they were in their bodies it would be harder to take down Klaus as they could be discovered. Plus Finn's body no longer exists, and he despised being a vampire.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I know...this is sadly the Klayley and Marcel show :(

    ReplyDelete
  28. klaus and camille obviously have feelings for each other and a slow burn reveal to the characters is sometime frustrating to the audience

    ReplyDelete
  29. No, it's just that this isn't the Elijah show.

    ReplyDelete
  30. that being the shows general problem.

Focusing on the biggest douch alive

    ReplyDelete
  31. It's more of a problem you have, than the series' problem.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I dislike Klaus, thus I have a problem?
I just love Klausstans disagreeing with people <3

    ReplyDelete
  33. First I like Klaus, but I'm not some blind fanboy. I recognize the character's an asshole, psychopathic monster and is horrible to everyone around him. But I find him interesting psychologically. I find Joseph Morgan's performance to be excellent. I find it entertaining to watch his humanity slowly emerge when he sees his daughter for the first time, or comforts Marcel. Do I find it aggravating to no end when he continually treats Elijah, Rebekah and everyone else like shit yes. But I feel for the guy, because even though he's horrible, self-destructive and mean he just wants to be loved and feels alone but just doesn't know how to deal with people. But I guess I'm just some blind passive-aggressive Klausstan as you put it. Really Mac? I didn't even defend his actions or make some crazed declaration that he's meant to be with Caroline (God that relationship is messed up) I merely said I like him. And yes it is your problem, because this was the show's design and objectively Klaus is nothing more than character written by a team of people and played by Joesph Morgan, so it isn't the show's problem since opinion yours or mine is subjective and is merely based on our perception. For example if I said I hated Walter White (I don't I think he's great) and said the show sucks because it's centred on him, from my subjective perception I'm right but from others I'd be wrong, and it isn't the show's fault since while they wrote the character how he is received is different for each viewer. Take Davina I think she's okay, some people hate her, some love her, because that's because we perceive her differently due to our own personality, life experiences and interests. The writer's and actors can influence how we perceive the character, but in the end it's still our perception, and that's on us.

    ReplyDelete
  34. guess I missunderstood your definition of problem. Thanks for the elaborate text though.

I admit, I hate Klaus. He is literally everything I despise. He demands full attention, he demands full control and puts a claim on anything and anyone. Not to mention ethnic cleansing (werewolves in episode 9), I`m sure the writers didn`t mean to suggest that but they did.
And I'm baffled by the incredibly positive response, at times I`m even terrifieded.
Our reaction to fiction mirrors our behaviour and mindset and seeing millions of teens forgive a character simply due to his good looks probably turned me off on his entire fanbase (including those that have legitimate reasons for liking the fictional character. I`m not denying that Morgan puts on a good performance and that there are some well written moments but overall I take the classic Freud-ian approach to fiction: being drawn to something in fiction mirrors a fair share of what our mind is trying to live out and I just can`t sit trough people praising Klaus anymore....it often guts me to the core. Maybe I`m taking a lot of stuff too serious but believe me if you had to write an essay about the minds way of telling us our own tendencies you would see the disturbing signs with TVD, TO and various other shows as well. It`s not rooting for the bad guys that is the issue, it`s people excusing them).

View it from my perspective: I'm past years of seeing teen girls praise and forgive the vampire version of Hitler (ironically I`m 100% sure that if theCW produced a WW2 series we would suffer under a horde of teens justifying his actions as well if Ian Somerhalder played him).

    ReplyDelete
  35. I understand that. Hell I agree that the way fans just forgive characters like Damon, Klaus, Dexter Morgan and even Hannibal Lecter is ridiculous, and at times distributing. It's true that many fans of The Originals and TVD are drawn to it as a sense of escapism and (especially if they're hardcore shippers) almost get off in a way through these twisted acts and declarations of love and romance these characters exhibit towards their love interests and forgive them for a lot of the past actions because they love Elena or Caroline, etc. (as vampires since Dracula have almost always been romanticized and used as a way to sublimate one's desire to be loved. Well that and people love a redemption story). That being said I don't think such forgiveness is dangerous or reflective of people's actual morality or how they would react in real life, because these are characters are a screen they may be compelling, interesting and evocative, but they're still just characters, and when violent brutal acts occur in real life people generally feel great empathy and pain for the victims, which (at least too me at times) is far harder to experience in regards to fictional characters. These fans know they're not real, that they're just actors and that this is just a script, sure there is a small portion of the fandom that obsesses about this stuff, but luckily they're the minority. I feel you're underestimating the fans though, they may cheer for Damon or Klaus and forgive them for their actions, but there's no way they could forgive a man with a toothbrush moustache even if he was played by Somerhalder jk. In all seriousness I doubt they would though given WW2's and the holocaust's profound affect on societies and cultures across the planet, and when get down to it I do think they're good people even if they do forgive a fictional psychopath (granted one who I like as a character). Like you though I don't see a problem with liking bad characters, or psychopaths as long as you acknowledge, and don't forgive (though I do believe in redemption to an extent) and forget their actions simply because they love another character.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Elijah killed a bunch of werewolves in Season 2 of TVD do you consider that to be ethnic cleansing as well?

We've never seen Klaus actually try to exterminate the vampire race. Characters like Damon have said that all werewolves should die (because their bite is fatal to vampires) though. Most of The Mystic Falls gang was in on a vampire genocide - namely Jeremy and Elena but others were involved as well.

Klaus told the vampires they could go kill some werewolves because he thought if they did that they would feel better and wouldn't be so worried about hybrids (an idea Tyler put into their heads) so they wouldn't want to kill Hayley and the baby. He didn't do it because he hates werewolves - in his twisted way he was trying to protect Hayley.

  37. I think Klaus and Hayley will eventually happen and be end game.
The fast pace at which Haylijah is moving is the first sign of it.
If tv show stays on long enough eventually everyone hooks up with everyone and the couples that started together are split in order to make new "unexpected" ones. Haylijah will be together for a season, everything will be perfect and then they will find some utterly stupid convoluted reason to break them up. (i mean just look at stelena, so much screen time and effort, and so many cute scenes and scared vows to never ever betray each other, thrown out the window just to give delena a shot) and And Cami will end up with Marcel, because she is his "ideal" match, as they keep showing the hints down our throats.

  38. Mikael's body no longer existed either but here he is)) And i am pretty sure kol is coming back too. Nate's new pilot didn't get greenlit and something in the way Esther says family reunion in the promo makes me believe Julie finally got the message that fans want Kol and he will boost the ratings a little bit.
If they were in their own bodies it would make for a better storytelling. Esther could have hooked up with Mikael. It would give them something else to do but seethe in rage with Klaus.
If they wanted fresh faces, they could just create new villains. Surely Esther is not the only capable witch that ever lived.

    ReplyDelete
  39. If Kol does come back, I expect they'll do the same and put him in someone elses body (unfortunately). Let's hope it's temporary.

    ReplyDelete
  40. i doubt it. Fans don't want just Kol, they (including me) want Nate Buzz.
I really hope and believe he is coming back. He clearly is interested in getting a job on one of the CW shows, and Julie no longer has any reason not to want him on TO like she did on TVD.
Kol is like Klaus used to be before he got all domesticated on TVD.

    ReplyDelete
  41. How would that make for better storytelling? By having Esther and Mikael hook-up?That's not necessarily better at all. No matter what they'd still seethe in rage (since that's Mikael's baseline) will most likely see them team up anyway, given they want to kill Niklaus.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Great promo! Can't wait for the show to come back on air. However, as much as I love Klaus and Hayley, I wish we'd seen more Elijah in the trailer though... And I'd like for him not to be reduced to a baby-sitter role for Hayley. But sadly I think we're going to see this at least for a little while :(.
Actually, my wish list for season 2 would be this :
-More badass Elijah and more brother bonding between he and Klaus which I think we're gonna get as well the family's history to be explored. That's why I love that Mikael and Esther are back, (even though it may feel redundant for some. And I guess it kind of is but this show needs to go deeper in the Originals' family issues. That was after all the premise of the show.
-More Mikaelson Brothers : dead, alive and/or possessing people.
-More Oliver slapping before he dies. Actually I want him to stay alive so we can see him get beaten regurlarly!
-More Mikael and Davina's dominatrixy game. She put him on a leash, please, don't tell me noone thought of that (bad) joke before.
-More Klaus throwing paintings in and out of his study.
-More of Mikael being show as the "Destroyer".
-More Alice Evans, even if I think the other actress will do a great job as Esther as well.
    -More Josh.
    -More Marcel and Klaus bonding.
-More Marcel getting his crew ready for war and not screwing up big time this time because he's obviously too "weak" for his opponents.
-No more romantic entanglements and whatnot (love triangles stay out of our ways!) and better character development for the female characters. I love Davina and believe or not I like both Hayley and Cami but I'd really wish for the writers to stop trying to force any kind of romance on them in the show because I feel it's a great disservice to their characters. I'd wish for Cami to get a SL that would make her more involved in this war than she already. She has this arsenal she has to take care of. Hopefully the writers will let her use this weapon and won't screw this up by making her a plot device (and only that) that conveniently shows up when the story needs to move forward!
-Francesca to make it alive for the rest of the season and possibly til the end of the show!! LOL I know I'm dreaming. Just like Genevieve she's great, she's hot, she's got power, she's sassy and interesting but she attacked Klaus and Co, she's soooo dying in the first three episodes.

-Rebekah to show up her pretty face and her sassy mouth more often. Yeah I know she's been confirmed as a recurring member of the cast and that she has another acting gig but this wish list doesn't have to be fully 'realistic'. Or does it? Oh well...

    ReplyDelete
  43. that's you but based on twitter, tumblr and other social media sites most people feel the same way as i do.

    ReplyDelete
  44. well, not yet at least. i mean in S1 and S2 Matt and Jer and Tyler weren't that useless either. But as soon as Kevin W. left the show it slowly became such a disaster.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Matt didn't do anything in season one besides pine over Elena and get involved/ fight with Caroline. In season two all he did was have problems with Caroline. Jeremy again didn't really do anything in the first season besides hook up with Vicki and Anna. Then in two while he was involved in the plot, he was still pretty useless, he even got Stefan stuck in the tomb. Tyler was a dick in season one. He did nothing except that. In season two I admit I actually liked him and his story, but then after that so very boring.
