Sherlock - Could Return with a Special Episode before Season 4

24 Apr 2014

Sherlock star Martin Freeman has revealed that the show’s next installment could be a “one-off special”.

Freeman told Alan Carr at the recording of tomorrow night’s Chatty Man episode: “Mark Gatiss may beat me up, but there is an idea for this one-off special that’s such a good idea, and as I was listening to it I thought ‘we’ve just got to do this’. And I don’t know when we are going to be able to do it, unfortunately.”

He added: “It’s a fantastic, really mouth-watering idea. But I really don’t know when we are going to get to do it.”

Last week the actor revealed that it had been intended to film the new series later this year: “I thought the plan was to do it in the autumn but apparently that’s fallen away.”

  3. I really want this, the show is so awesome, and 3 episodes per season just isn't enough, even if there really long.

  6. Martin Freeman is a very good actor! I have only seen him in Fargo but because I like the Sherlock Holmes character I would like to watch all 9 current episodes of it in a marathon:) and people have said its awesome and I think I would Agree! Benedict seems like a good fit for playing Sherlock and I am certain that Martin Freeman as Watson is awesome! Before I start watching this, one question, is there any comedic parts in this series like in the movies ? Or is it just a drama :/

  7. There are some very funny bits in the series. The banter between Holmes and Watson is wonderful, and even Moriarty adds to the hilarity. No, definitely NOT just drama.
