ReplyDeleteHow can you be 'pissed' when you're dead? Sam faced imminent death and Dean saved his life. Sam's behaving like a snotty nosed petulant teenager (again!). Get over yourself Sam!!! Remember when Sam didn't ever bother to look for his brother? Remember when he totally abandoned Kevin? Remember his lukewarm reunion with Dean? Yet Dean didn't spend months stomping about with a bitchface! Sam needs to try a little understanding. All this drama and angst he's causing is getting old. And Dean has the MoC - don't forget the history on that!
ReplyDeleteArrow: Really grew the characters Sara and Felicity
ReplyDeletePerson of Interest: Pretty boring episode, except for the ending
Supernatural: Low level demon hitting Dean Winchester... Amateur!
The Blacklist: Eh episode that I can't really remember
The Following: Getting really annoyed with the Twisted Twins.
The Walking Dead: Stop treating Carl like a child, guys!
True Detective: Disappointed by the cliched handling of characters
Vampire Diaries: Pretty eh conclusion to a great storyline
I think the more you expand on how you view things, the more it becomes obvious you can't quite grasp the situation. There's always a limit to what a person can take. Sam had met his limit finally and was going to give in, and die. It was his choice. Dean couldn't handle it, (meaning he couldn't deal with Sam's death because of what it meant for Dean, not for Sam) so he made a terribly hypocritical choice FOR Sam and tricked him into accepting an angel in (remember how that worked out for Sam before?) and then lied to him about it for weeks. And Dean has always judged Sam very absolutely for any choices he'd made that ended up backfiring, from Ruby to Lucifer, only to then find himself in similar situations making the same mistakes. Especially now in the case of Gadreel, in which Sam ended up being the tool that was used to kill people...including Kevin. If anything, Dean has been nothing but impossibly dense not understanding that you can't just say "we're family" and run roughshod over your brother to get what you want. Outside of the mediocre writing for the past two seasons I was happy to see one of them in some small way break from this cycle they seem to go through where they enable each other's bad decision-making...
ReplyDeleteAs an older brother myself, I'd always identify more with Dean up until he became so intolerable. His self righteousness used to be a character flaw, but by now it is a damn joke. I am so tired of him trying to talk down to everyone else in the show like he's got everything figured out, only to act completely differently/hypocritically later on. I think Jared and Jensen are doing the best with what they have but the brothers overall have been written terribly for years now.
Well, I guess we can both agree on one thing – Dean should
ReplyDeletehave let Sam die. I'd be down with that.
