Save The Date - Maggie Lawson gets Lead Role

12 Feb 2014

Psych alumna Maggie Lawson is set as the lead of CBS’ half-hour pilot Save the Date, a romantic comedy from writers Jackie and Jeff Filgo, ABC Studios and CBS TV Studios. It centers on 35-year-old and newly single Kate (Lawson), who drunkenly books a wedding venue and now is faced with the task of meeting the right man in time. The format of the project is hybrid, in the vein of How I Met Your Mother: a multi-camera comedy employing shorter scenes and no live audience.

  1. This sounds like it'd be fun. Plus, I love Maggie. I'm in.

  2. Sign me up immediately. not the biggest romcom fan but with Psych ending, I'll be following anything the cast is doing, especially Maggie since she's already shown she can anchor a show with Back in the Game (despite the poor ratings it got.)

  3. Kudos to Maggie for landing another gig so fast after BitG got canceled.
I'll give anything the Psych cast tries a couple chances to catch me.
I didn't hate BitG, sad to see so few others didn't like it.
Good luck Maggie on this project.

  4. Another trashy premise for what will be either something that won't even make it to air or will be cancelled early much like her last train wreck Back In The Game. The only successful role this woman has ever had was as Juliet on Psych, the reason for that being was that she wasn't carrying the show. She has neither the talent or the pull to headline a show and that has been proven in the past with Back In The Game and other shows that she's headlined. She just doesn't have what it takes and she will fall flat on her face yet again. Give it up Miss Lawson and move back to Kentucky. This will be even worse than her last disaster.

  6. Psych's already done filming, and there's pictures - she's in the series finale at least, but not sure about the other episodes.
