The actor has officially joined the cast of Black-ish, ABC’s Anthony Anderson-fronted comedy pilot about an upper-middle class black man struggling to raise his children with a sense of cultural identity despite constant contradictions and obstacles coming from his liberal wife, old school father and his own assimilated, color-blind kids.
Fishburne will recur as the aforementioned old school father. (Fun fact: Fishburne is an EP on Black-ish, so I guess you could say he had an inside track on the role.)

As long as it doesn't interfere with his role on Hannibal, I'm all in favor of him spreading his talent. I'm not sure how this comedy would do, it might be too controversial for the general public, but it sounds like it could be interesting.
