    After the last batch of episodes, I'm totally on board with Catherine & Gabe being an item. He respects her and she needs a normal(ish) relationship.

    That, or she can stay alone for a while and try find herself.

    Vincent needs to get jealous before he can truly admit hiw much he cares for Cat and start realizing he want/needs to fight for her. He showed a little of that when Gabe took off the handcuffs. Then after that is when Vin said that Cat and he needs to start working together. It is there he just isn't admiting it yet.

    For God's sake!! are you serious??, like a I've said before, let's not forget who is responsible for what happened to Vincent, if Gabe hadn't tried to kill Vincent, this one would still being the same sweet guy he used to be and he and Cat would be happy together, I don't care if Gabe is sorry and is trying to be the nice guy now, he's the one to blame for the whole situation, it's like somebody kills your boyfriend then come to apologize to you and you ended up sleeping with him, even though he killed your boyfriend in order to be with you, I know Cat has the right of being with someone else, but again that one CAN'T be Gabe, that would become her a traitor bitch.

    The writers have wasted much time trying to push Gabe and Cat off on the fans.Here is a hint,fans don't want it.It is called Beauty and the Beast .The ratings will keep getting lower if they don't get them together soon and then the writers will be out of jobs themselves.

    I also have made similar comments.Gabe kidnapped Catherine so he could get Vincent to come and kill him.How do we really know he is different.This might have a different twist to the story here.In the Hothead episode this year,he almost got Vincent killed telling him he wanted Vincent to hunt this beast but not hurt him.He knew exactly what Vincent would do.I don't buy that whole sweet act,sorry.

    I agree. I don't watch the show for Cat and Gabe. I watch for the Beauty and the BEAST. And even if Gabe was still a beast, the chemistry between them is non-existant in comparison to Cat & Vincent's. It's Cat and Vincent for me, nothing else will do. Yeah she has the right to move on, but honestly, I'm not interested in watching that. People talk about it's only fair since he's had Alex and Tori, but the way I see it is, they are not teenage kids, they don't need to play games or even the score. Two wrongs do not make a right. And we may only have 10 more eps left to tell this story, do we really want them to be wasted on an irrelevant relationship or a stupid love triangle? I know I don’t. I would like to see some kind of conclusion for VinCat at the end. So I know they can be happy and live as normal as a life as possible. (Sorry, that rant was not directed at you, just me rambling out loud! lol)

    I too thought the whole Gabe thing was over or dealt with but as it appears not, at least for Catherine. She seems to be the one making the moves. I know it is a spoiler so could be anything but is this the writers poor attempt at trying to show Cat has moved on from Vincent and then in the same episode have Vincent being a romantic, which is what was insinuated to us by the writers. This is suppose to be the first Significant step back to Vincat. and we were told we would be satisfied. I was and am really expecting some sweet romantic Valentiney moments in this espisode and they CANNOT be between Gabe and Cat.
    I guess what still bothers me, in a general sense, is the focus on Gabe so much this season and not so much on JT and Tess. JT is coming back a little bit now, and hopefully will be in the remaining episodes but Tess too. Where has she been all season, other than to be Gabe's cheerleader in his quest for Cat. That is what makes it harder for me to allow Cat her fling with Gabe; if I haven't felt forced to think Gabe is the perfect guy! Cat, being her holier than thou self this season, has overlooked the things Gabe has done too, that are a little outside the law lines/1
    All in All, I know Vincent has been who he is this season, but he had good reason and he is human so choosing the beast side for awhile is human too, given what was done to him. I just want VINCAT back and so we have at least a few episodes of them really together. Most of us want that, other than those who cannot see the road back forVINCAT, and the ratings need that if we have any chance of getting a SO3. The fans have certainly been doing their part!

    Maybe she is pretending she is into Gabe and maybe Vincent and Cat have learned that Gabe is not the stand up guy that we are led to believe so she is playing along to set him up.
    Either way VinCat will be back together before long so try to enjoy the story ahead.

    ? Cant follow this logic - Gabe is responsible for Vincents situation and with that destroyed their/Cats life,
    and he tried to kill both her and Vincent. He also treated his last
    girlfriend really bad, he gave her up to die and when she died he didn't care.... Love BATB but sorry, not with you here :)

    However - I'm all with you on the stay alone part though - Now it seems like she always need a man to define her? How is that finding herself? Cat is a strong, intelligent woman - She could spend more time with Tess instead - supportive friendship and having fun... :)

    I tell this to anyone who will listen, "It's the ultimate betrayal." I feel that even if Catherine doesn't respect this Vincent enough not to cross that line, out of respect for the old Vincent, she should not go there. Catherine wants Vincent to trust her. This is not trustworthy behavior. If the old Vincent comes back, I'm afraid he will see it as a betrayal as well.



    While I'm all about VinCat, i do realize she will have to move on eventually. Vincent isn't doing right by her. I know she can't wait for him forever. But not with the man responsible for Vincents demise. Catherine isn't naive or gullible. The world has shown her it's cruel side. So i can't even began to comprehend her reasons for pursuing a relationship with the man responsible for essentially making Vincent disappear.



    He can blame his past actions on his beast side all he wants. But those were his actions. And they cost her the love of her life. He isn't the good guy she seems to think he is. He was willing to kill someone else for his own survival. And lets not forget what happened to the last girl he claimed to love. He chose his life over hers. That is not a good man. If that's how he shows a woman his love. He needs to love Catherine a little less.

    I don't know why this insistence Cat with Gabi - this simply does not make sense after what he did to VinCat. The writers promise to be a resumption of the VinCat's romance on the Valentine's Day, so I hope Cat/Gabe picture don't mean anything, except to cause jealous Vincent (ONLY).

    I believe Gabe is still a beast. Maybe dying restarted him somehow and he can now control the changes. When Vincent all but told Gabe that he couldn't stop him last episode, because he was no longer a beast, Gabe looked as if he wanted to beast out right there. It's possible. But I have no interest in watching that Beast. LOL!

    Remember the promos of the Gabe kiss in the precinct where Cat leaned in and thanked him for not interferring in the investigation. Welllll those pics were far more deceiving and led you to think it was going to be some big romantic kiss when in reality she just leaned in, gave him a quick peck and that was it. There are 2 pics in this new episode where Cat leans in and then another when she stands back from him and has, what I think are tears. I think it is here that she is telling Gabe she knows she cannot be with him and that it is Vincent for her all the way. She does not want to deceive Gabe anymore and then leans in a friendly goobye kiss and nothing more. The kiss episode is Ep. 213 and by 215 we have VinCat back together so it cannot be more than that. Cat has more class than that, she won't be kissing someone one episode and then loving someone else another. That's not our girl...

    Gabe, to me is a recycled beast, he's laying dormant for now. He will arise soon enough and he is just not for Cat. Cat needs to be on her own for a while. I'd rather see that then kissing someone just for the sake of.

    Cat won't be with Gabe. She is hurting too much with all that has happened with Vincent. She won't go there even tho it looks like she might. Cat will step back and be on her own. The other reality is the writer's said they don't want to make it easy for Vincent either to get Catherine back because she had Alex in S1 and Tori in S2, how much can a girl take. Vincent needs to see a few Gabe scenes to really get him going and to FINALLY admit it's Catherine and only Catherine for him. I understand that Season 3 is "Who Are We" so it's a team effort and journey that the two of them go on PLUS in Ep. 211 Vincent tells Catherine that they should work together because they are meant to. This is all promo picture stuff to get our blood riled and watching the next episode. I kind of like it...S2 has been like that from the get go anyways. ;-)

    They've taken Beauty & the Beast off the schedule indefinitely. We don't even know when we'll get to see the rest of season 2. It's so frustrating. They're trying to make room for all these new shoes. I don't understand why. They'll only be giving them the same crappy treatment next year. I know VinCats reunion can't be rushed, but how is pushing them closer to other people suppose to make the process any faster? I just know until the CW gives us some good news about BATB, all of their other shows will be off my radar. Reign is the only other show of theirs I currently watch, but I'm not hooked like with BATB, so walking away from that network will be easy.

    They announced a May date for the remaining eps last week. I don't think they will cancel it yet. I think they will wait and see how the new show do and how the Tomorrow People will do on Mondays. I believe we still have hope for a season 3. And I think my now CW knows beasties would riot if they didn't air the remaining eps!! lol.

    But I hear what your saying about rushing VinCat and them wasting time on other people. I feel the same!! If we don't get S3, then I want every second of the remaining eps to bring back the beauty of S1 and the epic love we were all captivated by.

    Can somebody please answer me this. What's the point of watching BATB live to help our ratings, if Nielsen ratings doesn't even take our viewing BATB into account? I'm confused as to how this works. People are always saying to watch, so they know we're watching, but if we're not one of the members of the Nielsen Family- the random poll of people the Nielsen Method uses to calculate who's watching and who's not, how can we possibly help keep our show on the air?

    I always thought they could tell how many people were watching all across the country, but it doesn't even work that way. It's just a random poll of people, whom supposedly represent the entire population, who they pay a crappy amount of money, in order to connect a Nielsen's Ratings Box to their television- to record what they watch, whether or not they fast forward during commercial breaks, or change the channel to avoid watching ads. And if you are a member of the Nielsen family, and you happen to hate commercial breaks, and as a result change your channel to avoid ads, the show you're viewing will suffer in the ratings. It doesn't matter how good it is. Ads are the way these people make their money. If you're not watching the ads, chances are you won't be buying what they're advertising. And that's a problem for them. They don't make money that way.

    That system is so outdated, and obsolete. With all the different streaming devices out there to view our favorite shows, people aren't waiting in front of the television for a program to come on. No matter how much they love it. Why would they, when that content is made available just a few short hours after it airs live? I've checked on the CW Networks site, and Hulu Plus, and sometime between midnight and 1:00 a.m. the new episode is available for online streaming. So there isn't this fear that keeps people glued to their sofa's, because if they happen to miss their favorite program, they can just view it online in a couple of hours.

    And who in the world is a member of the Nielsen family? I've never met one. Supposedly they're identity is suppose to remain a secret so that the system isn't compromised. So even if they were one, they couldn't tell you. And you can't even apply to be a member in order to save your show. They have to approach you. How do they even know that the people they have chosen are a fair assessment of the entire population?

    Let's see if I can help shed some light. Fandoms encouraging live watching are good in the sense that the more people who watch live, the more chance that one will be a member of a Nielsen household would be my guess. Its basically like the more lotto tickets you buy, the better your chances of striking gold.

    Nielsen’s TV families represent a cross-section of representative homes throughout the U.S. They use set top boxes (the infamous Nielsen box) as well as Local People Meters which capture information on what’s being viewed and when and, in the
    major U.S. markets, specifically who and how many are watching.

    The set top boxes themselves measure the data in real time. As each individual in the home has their own unique code they input at the start of viewing I believe, they can measure in real time, who is watching what show, what commercials were watched and for how long, if a commercial got turned off at a specific point, even how much of a show was watched, down to the second. They also measure 'time shifted' viewing as part of the live + SD ratings. During key periods, such as sweeps, they send out paper viewing diaries to millions of homes for families to fill out to help round out certain data points. They generally get back over 2 million paper diaries each sweeps period.

    Also keep in mind that the Nielsen measurement system is constantly evolving and will be undergoing a big overhaul (so I hear) by the end of the decade. The biggest issue with online viewing and why networks don't really give a crap about it, is that there really isn't an effective way to monetize it yet for the networks. Advertiser commercials are payed for based on T.V. airing. The commercial is then imbedded in the show and posted to the Networks website. The online viewing generates no additional money for the Network. They could ask advertisers if they wanted different commercials embedded in the online viewing, but advertisers won't go for it. However, they do recognize that 'Appointment Viewing' is becoming less and less and they are currently formulating plans on how to handle the challenge of measuring the new, fragmented audience.

    There are currently 25000 Nielsen families, they are very carefully selected based on a lot of different criteria, and the company goes to great length to make sure that each household represents the largest possible cross section of demographic groups that are measured at the request of networks/advertisers. 25000 is more than enough, statistically speaking, to be an accurate representation of the country as a whole (just Google 'statistical sample' for some good sites that explain it much better than I ever could)

    So while the system is far from perfect, its the best the networks have at present. I hope my ramble at least shed a little light on your question. So keep encouraging everyone to watch live Beasties and who knows what could happen.

    Thanks for your input. That makes a lot of sense. It never occurred to me that by promoting live viewing we could influence those members to watch BATB. I guess it's just frustrating that this is the only method they use. You know it never really bothered me this much until it started to affect this shows future. I guess I'm just hooked. I don't wanna see it end. It's making me a little crazy. LOL! Don't know if you've ever heard of Roswell, the TV Show. But while l was too young to watch it when it first aired, I recently discovered it a couple of years ago, and I'm still traumatized by the fact that it was canceled due to low ratings, despite the huge fan base it acquired. Before Beauty and the Beast came out that was my only TV Obsession.

    Glad I could give you some answers. I'm 33 myself and did watch Roswell when it was first on. I LOVED that show, (and I'm a pierced, tattooed, Metalhead guy, so it was kinda awkward to explain my love for that show to my Heavy Metal brethren, lol). I was devastated when that show went before its time, much as with Veronica Mars :( The problem with Roswell I think, was that it gained most of its following the Cult way, after it was cancelled, much like Firefly (a show I recommend to everyone, even if you hate sci-fi). I don't personally watch BatB. I gave it a fair try, but just not my cup of tea so to speak. But I am rooting for you guys! The CW is an unpredictable network when it comes to renewals sometimes, so here is to hope!

    Mr Heavy Metal guy and expert on quality shows, thank you for explaining Nielsen ratings. Though hard to believe you are rooting for us Beast fans. Just 2 weeks ago you posted that you couldn't wait for the demise of the show and have watched plenty quality shows but BATB is not one. You also basically wished KK and JR unemployment by May and not forgetting your comment about my comprehension. English is not my first language and sometimes I find that difficult and I know my comprehension sucks but at least I try.

    LOL hope we'll be talking pleasant things. Now the BATB Writers did say that they would not make it easy for Vincent to get Catherine back, that she will not drop everything and go running back to him, a slow burn basically. So, if anything AND this kiss does happen, it will not mean anything. Besides 213 is supposed to the Valentine's Week episode and both Sherri and Jennifer, the producers say it will be good.

    Catherine wouldn't do that. That's not in her nature. She seems to be genuinely trying to move on. At first she went about it all wrong. I think last episode she made the right decision. She realized she needs to be own her own for awhile, and that's never a bad thing.

    Pictures can be very deceiving. Cat told Gabe in last episode that she wants to find herself first. I think, if anything, this is more of a friendly kiss which Vincent happens to see. The last promo pics of Cat kissing Gabe in the precinct were really for a nothing kiss, no biggie there. There was more to the pictures than the actual kiss on screen. This is more for the sake of Vincent experiencing angst and jealousy that Cat is moving forward and he may lose her. Vincent has a few episodes to really pine for Cat and to declare his love for her, so this is all good (even tho it doesn't look like it right now...!)

    I've come to the same conclusion that I'm okay with Catherine and Gabe being a couple considering the complete lack of respect Vincent has shown Catherine this season. If the show is going to go there with Catherine and Gabe, then go there and not have Catherine waffling between Gabe and Vincent.
