  1. Slade's personality has always walked the the thin line between caustically funny and being a jackass. I'm guessing this is where he finally crosses that line never to return.

  3. Yeahhhhh, Slade has completely crossed over to a bad guy here- I'd hope it was the cure messing with him, but it's probably Shado's death that finally made him a villain.

  4. Nah. Volatile personality + the stress of being in constant danger trapped on an island + the sudden and violent death of a loved one + powerful strength enhancing drugs coursing through ones system that elicit anger issues = the Slade we see here.

Arrow did a meticulous job setting this up. It's practically paint by numbers. I'm not a big fan of the path this character is on but I certainly can't say Arrow didn't do the proper legwork to get him here.

  5. Wow! Thus begins the fallout between them. There's a lot more to that, and i think we just got a tiny taste. Can't wait to see the whole thing unravel.

  6. I agree. I mean people need to remember this is a show based on "comic book reality" which is a little different than "real reality". And Slade has been shown as a slightly dark character from the beginning. He was already at the breaking point from his best friend betraying him, and had already adopted an anti-social viewpoint ("Everybody is in this world for themselves") by the time Oliver found him. He played nice for awhile because he was depending on Oliver to help him survive/get off the island, and when Shado came along he clearly developed strong feelings for her pretty quickly. It's not that much of a stretch to believe that their many failures to get off the island, the constant brushes with death (and for Slade maybe actual death), and the death of Shado has led him to breaking point. And that's without the Mirakuru making him unnaturally strong and increasing his violent urges.

  7. It was always coming, Slade/Deathstroke has always been a villain/Antihero.
