———-

-Ratings Breakdown:
CBS topped the Tuesday overnights with its stellar combination of “NCIS” (#1 for the night: 12.2 rating/20 share), “NCIS: Los Angeles” (#1: 9.9/16) and “Person of Interest” (#2: 7.9/14), which bested failed year-ago occupant “Vegas” (6.4/11 on 12/18/12) by 23 percent. But NBC will win the night, of course, in adults 18-49 (and other key young adult demos) care of the two-hour season-finale of “The Voice,” which scored a 9.0/15 from 9-11 p.m. Comparably, “The Voice” jumped 22 percent from the one-hour edition last week (7.4/12 on Dec. 10), with just a one-tenth of a rating deficit from the year-ago season-ender (9.1/15). Chalk up another successful edition of “The Voice.”

Earlier in the evening on NBC, “The Biggest Loser” tied its season-high with a 4.8/ 8 from 8-9 p.m., which built by nine percent from one week earlier (4.4/ 7 on Dec. 10).

Excluding recent ABC returnee “What Would You Do?” (#3: 1.9/ 3 at 10 p.m.), the remaining networks populated the evening with repeats. ABC finished a very distant third care of encores of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” (#3: 2.2/ 4), “The Goldbergs” (#3: 2.0/ 3) and “Trophy Wife” (#3: 1.6/ 3) from 8-10 p.m., followed by aforementioned “What Would You Do?” Fox was next with repeats of sitcoms “Dads” (#4: 1.7/ 3), “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (#4: 1.4/ 2), “New Girl” (#4: 1.1/ 2) and “The Mindy Project” (#4: 1.1/ 2). And The CW aired encores of dramas “The Originals” (#5: 0.8/ 1) and “Supernatural” (#5: 0.7/ 1).

Coming up in midseason on ABC will be new scripted drama “Killer Women” at 10 p.m. effective on January 7th.

About the Daily Ratings

Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.

The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).

Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.

Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above.

Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below). Friday's Final Adjusted Ratings are normally available on the following Monday.

  4. I thought that Person of Interest would have a higher 18-49 rating (at least over a 2.0) with Sons of Anarchy now over for the season.

  5. When I first saw the ratings chart, I was sad because the 1.9 was with no competition, so I thought. Then I realized that it had to deal with the season finale of the reality garbage the Voice, which is an 18-49 ratings hog. Now it all makes sense. That show is a beast to go up against, unfortunately.

  6. Sons of Anarchy is a beast as well in the ratings beating everything it's up against in the same hour even shows on the big networks. I haven't watched a episode of PoI live yet this season because it was up against my favorite show SoA and in January it'll be up against another favorite of mine Justified. They're probably my 2 favorite shows.

  7. I think CBS may also like the stability of their Tuesday night lineup brings to the network. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday seems to be doing well for them. If I were them I wouldn't change a thing on those nights.

    ReplyDelete
  8. How much does SoA get in ratings?

    ReplyDelete
  9. NCIS had 19 + million viewers..

    ReplyDelete
  10. It's season finale last week got a 2.8 18-49 rating and it usually gets around a 2.5 throughout the entire season. It's probably one of the top 5 cable series throughout the entire year maybe even the third highest after The Walking Dead and Duck Dynasty.

  11. POI deserves better, even though I'm still upset about Carter's death, but I have to admit that those latest episodes are way beyond awesome
