Chicago Fire - Episode 2.10 - Not Like This - Review

This is my last review of 2013, I’m feeling rather emotional right now. Wow, what a rollercoaster ride so far. I felt so many emotions throughout the episode. Let's get this review started!

Clarke is being arrested because the guy who his wife owed debts to is dead. Not surprising, since the writers have been dropping hints here and there. The only question is, is he guilty? Did he do it?

Like Hermann said, ding freakin’ dong, the witch is dead! I would’ve never thought Peter Mills would be the one to save 51. He pulled some strings and managed to get the Senator to save 51 from getting shut down by Evil McLeod. He owes Isabella a big one. But I thought they were no longer together? Isabella made Evil McLeod sign a contract to make sure she will never shut down another firehouse again. I feel like something’s not right when I watch this scene. Something’s telling me Evil McLeod will return and get her revenge. If it’s not her, then something bad is still going to happen to 51. I don’t know if you guys have this feeling too. Or is it just me being paranoid? Only time will tell.

For some reason we do not know of, Dawson is being accepted to become a firefighter. I thought she’s interested in medicine? Where did this come from? Looks like Casey has the same thought as me. It’s not surprising that he’s not really on board with the whole thing. Shay’s being really supportive and I agree too, that Dawson kicks ass. I’m sure if she decided to be a firefighter, she’ll be great at it.

OK, now let’s talk about the scene where Casey almost did not make it out alive. I was holding my breath the whole way through! To be honest after I saw the promo last week, I've been thinking that the writers won’t let Casey die, he’s too important. But watching the rescue scene unfold in front of me I can’t help but gasp for air every once in awhile. It was really intense.
The scenes where Dawson was at the back of the ambulance with Casey and the one where everyone’s at the waiting area to the last scene where Dawson is just standing at the side looking really sad and staring at Casey’s body reminds me of a show, I’m not sure whether you guys watch it. It’s called Rookie Blue and their season finale sort of looks exactly like that. OK, I don’t know why I’m telling you guys this. I just kind of sidetracked. Anyway, although I don’t think they will kill him off, I admit it was hard to watch. It takes a lot for me to get teary-eyed and they have succeeded. Looks like Dawsey’s happily ever after is taking a detour.

I shall stop here and let you guys do the talking. Let me know how ya’ll are feeling! Still processing what happened? Feels everywhere? I’m sure we can keep each other accompany until the hiatus is over. With that, I wish you guys Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance! See you guys in 2014! Godspeed, my fellow readers.

  1. Casey!!!! No!!! Jesse Spencer is an amazing actor, I loved him in House M.D. He is probably the best character on Chicago Fire. So giving, and handsome.

  3. I agree, if we know McLeod as well as we think we do, something tells me she'll be back! I am like you, It takes a lot to make me get teary eyed at this show, and watching Casey's selfless rescue did just that. I find myself holding my breath and gasping at the end!! I have a feeling that Casey will live, but they will do anything to try and freak the fans out?

    Random Question...

Do you guys think we'll be seeing anymore of Hadley? Or did he actually die in 2x04... I can't tell, and I've seen that scene at least 5 times now, maybe more!

  5. not anymore she can't! :) I asked the actor behind Hadley a while back if he thought Hadley would be back as a character... and even he didn't know at the time! :/
I guess only time will tell! :)

  6. Maybe it's the way Isabella cut McLeod off when she was trying to say something... Maybe I was over analyzing?

I wouldn't mind Hadley's return I just hope that he will not try to hurt people again!

  7. Yeah, if he returns i would imagine Severide may be visiting him in prison or something, I doubt he'd be running free with the ability to start fires again.

I don't think someone, even Hadley would be that stupid to start setting fires again after what happened to him!

  8. It reminded me of RB too. without the "You're my story" tho... LOVED that part!! :D

I don't think Casey will die. He's the best character on the show IMO. Love him with Dawson!! :) I just hope they don't break them up already. I can handle a little bumpy patch but too soon for a break up IMO.
